I had vaguely tried Opus, but I wasn’t in a place to be able to explore its bells and whistles, so I uninstalled it. But shit, search that works is vital, so I installed it again and wow, am I in love.

The lead story on the local news was the No Kings protests. There was large crowd at the protest nearest to me. When I moved here 25 years this area solid red, it’s definitely acquired a more purplish hue today. The local paper had a bunch of phots of the crowd which was composed of mostly middle aged and older white females and a lot of blue hairs and grey beards. Not many of the younger set.
When I walked the dogs today, I saw a big crowd with tents, trailers, and roadblocks set up. I avoided that area and walked them the other way. Got a little angry that the city would coordinate with a blatantly partisan event like that and block the streets… Then I realized it was the Saturday farmer’s market, not the “No Kings (Unless They’re Democrats)” protest, haha. I felt better after I figured out the truth.
My town has a pedestrians-only couple blocks where this shit is inevitably going to be scheduled. I live a block away and didn’t notice anything. Which is odd cuz the place is infested with commies. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I got my hairs cut today (finally!, but not my beard). I usually go to Grate Flips (you know the store I mean) because they are cheap ($20, NOT the same as downtown) and they keep records of what I like). The price of gas has gone down. The price of groceries has not. I used to be able to feed my girlfriend and I quite well on $100 per week. Lately my grocery bills have been over $150 per week.

The controversy began in November 2023, when the district offered a professional development presentation titled “Dismantling Whiteness at W-O: Words Matter,” according to the CBC.
