The girlfriends daughter and boyfriend carved me a couple of pumpkins as a thank you…two weeks ago. They looked like the dude above when I shoveled them into a bag yesterday. Oh, well. It was a nice gesture.
For those of you with even a passing interest in baseball, Ohtani made himself a legend last night. Three home runs and 10 strikeouts to get the Dodgers into the World Series. A truly epic performance, and I hate the Dodgers.
*That little trinket on the front page came from Tonio’s garage. I have questions.*
Links?
Heh. “Btw Gavin, we’re going to be lobbing Howitzer shells over I5 this weekend.”
Well, bye. I did a little digging on numbers. No, there hasn’t been an increase in people giving up their citizenship.
Where’s my jerking off gif? I know I left it around here somewhere…
Damn, Andy. I hope it was good.
Okay, this is just straight up badass.
That’s it for me. For some reason, Boise State is letting UNLV stay in the game. Fix that shit. Peace out, Glibbies.

I rode by the No Kings protest today. Mostly old people and about 75% women. Almost entirely retarded.
So, cake zombies.
I saw Antique-fa over on redstate. Gave me a chuckle
Keeping that, so many uses…
I passed the likely location for it in my town around 10:30 this morning and there was already a cupcake baking contest setting up in the square.
Oops.
I saw a couple walk past my house after everything was over. Seventy if they are a day.
My friend living in a Del Webb project west of Round Rock sent me a pictures of his “free” No King’s posters in his front yard. He’s about 78. I’m sure all his neighbors paraded by to see his protests.
Then it was time for martinis, I’m sure.
Trump should just post this clip
In light of all of this, Prince Andrew should start wearing an eyepatch.
Own it, look rakish.
Ohtani was indeed something beyond human last night. I feel privileged that he’s playing now while I can fully appreciate him.
Seriously, though. Fuck the Dodgers.
“American skier and mountaineer Jim Morrison…”
I thought he was an American poet?
I was wondering who was going to pop in with that.
He is the Lizard King™, he can do anything.
Andy found out it’s not good to not be the king.
Charles, on the other hand, found out that being a momma’s-boy king isn’t good either.
Are you kidding? He loves it. He’s bad at it, but he loves it.
“This is a profoundly absurd show of force that could put Californians directly in harm’s way,” Mr. Newsom said in a statement to The New York Times.
Closing a heavily travelled freeway in a fit of petulant pique is totally rational.
Boise finally decided to show up. 49-24 going into the 4th quarter.
Related to the loss of wildlife, here is an interesting interview involving the effects of introducing a non-native predator into an ecosystem in the name of saving it. Specifically the introduction of non-native wolves into the west. The interview is long and not perfect but I ended up listening to the whole thing and highlights a lot of the lies the environuts push on this subject.

Humans fuck up everything, we should get rid of em
Idaho is trying to cap the number of wolves at around 600. When I got a license in Montana, I donated to a wolf reduction program ran by the state.
Way more than 600 now.
Yep. There’s quite a few that are taken without tags.
I hunted units 10, 10a, 16 and 17 in Idaho in the 90s.
There is so much fewer game now it’s choose your unit, choose your weapon. Used to muzzle load and rifle throughout the fall and winter.
No more.
Between the wolves and the beaurocrats it’s become for more difficult to harvest an animal.
Could use a pair over here. Deer population has exploded since the local poacher got nailed.
Ohtani’s game was majestic. One of his homers left the entire stadium, ~469 feet. His curveball was sharp as hell, too. One of his translation /American handlers got caught in a $millions gambling sting. MLB hush-hushed that and did lord-knows to ensure that Ohtani wasn’t implicated in any way. When ya know he was obviously doing it. I’m with UCS: I assume they all do. Like they don’t have Fantasy Football+ in the clubhouse? Duh, it extends further.
I’m ‘officially’ pro-Seattle, but no problem with Toronto. We’re all agreed, fuck LA. Boring series, unless, ya gotta admit, their pitching was fucking stellar.
Me no likey.
I’ll probably pass on the WS if it’s gonna be all that guy all the time.
Seattle is my nearest MLB team, so, ya. I don’t hate the Dodgers, I save my hate for the (spits) Giants.
Fuck them.
Never been to the WS, c’mon that’s solid enough for anyone (who’s team is out but still wants to ‘root). Back in the day: I’d always root for the NL, regardless. Fuck the DH. But now *everyone’s* joined in that nonsense, I s’pose there’s no point anymore.
re Ohtani: I get the overexposure. But he *IS* fucking special. He’s already got 50 WAR (13 for pitching) 6+ years in MLB. Something like ~75 is a good indicator for the Hall of Fame. He’s by far the best individual to play the game. Hands-down. Kinda sucks. (So does being a Browns fan.)
re DH: You have 9 players on your team at once. They *have* to play a position to hit. Wanna change up? Fine. There are rules to do so.
The DH is like everyone proudly disregarding the Constitution cuz it momentarily ‘inconveniences’ them.
I went to games 1 and 2 of the 97 WS. Neph ought to remember that one with fondness.
Dad gave me the option of seeing 2 games. I chose 1 and 2. He asked “Not game 7?” Nope! Might not make it there!
My Fish went 1-1 in those games and ultimately won what was a pretty boring series until Game 7.
I’m all in this time of year (the whole season, really, but during the playoffs I don’t care who’s playing. I’m watching. I’ve been scoring the late game everyday this year. Playoff baseball is the best playoffs in sports.
@Muzzled: The ’97 WS was one of the best ever, if only for Game 7. Craig Counsell, that goofy stance and all, managing to be instrumental in two Game 7 wins in the ending inning. (The 11th in ’97.) The Cubs getting him to manage was, IMO, one of our best acquisitions a couple years ago.
I know I’m biased, but I’m kinda correct: The ’16 WS really has to be the Best (most exciting) of all time. Take away the teams, just extra innings in Game 7 alone puts it in a special echelon. ’97 was outstanding and so was the 2001 Yanks /D-Backs series. Damn, damn good entertainment.
If ya like baseball. If ya don’t, we’ll give you the Alex DeLarge treatment, tie ya down w a TV, and STEVE SMITH YOUR EYES UNTIL YOU ENJOY.
2011 WS, Game 6.

#metoo and that guy already irritated me for some reason before I started watching the stupid game for the first time in decades a couple weeks ago. Maybe just because he was already everywhere. I guess it will only get worse.
He’s earned that. He’s not some DEI hire they’re trying to prop up. He’s legimately the best player to ever step on a field. The dude is amazing.
It’s a team sport. I don’t like it to be dominated by one person. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But curiously, there has been a very noticeable increase in people making everything all about themselves and their narcissism.
who left the United States at age 25 and built a career in Britain’s nonprofit sector
LOL, so he’s an NGO grifter. Enjoy your British citizenship, you’ll be missed.
More properly he is giving up American citizenship to become a British subject.
I have a feeling he is going to hate it when sharia law is imposed. He had better read “Submission” by Michel Houellebecq to see a picture how his life will change as sharia gains the upper hand.
Oh yeah, “no give backs” sucker. I hope he is barred from entry to the US for the rest of his days.
The man, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he fears retribution by the Trump administration, is in the final phase of expatriation, the process of formally renouncing U.S. citizenship.
I’m so tired of this ridiculous nonsense. Guess what, dummy. They already know who you are. They just don’t care.
But this is giving up citizenship for noble reasons. Unlike that yucky Eduardo Saverin.
And I am sure there are dozens of people every year who give up citizenship.
Dozens!
The person who wrote the article above that one is busy with it.
The United States is one of only two countries — along with Eritrea — that taxes income based on citizenship rather than residency, requiring Americans abroad to file annual returns with the IRS in addition to those required by the country where they live or work.
——-
Even former British prime minister Boris Johnson, born in New York to British parents, renounced his U.S. citizenship in 2016 after complaining of an “absolutely outrageous” IRS bill from the sale of his London house.
Fucking Trump.
Paying US taxes abroad was unfun. I kinda sorta didn’t do it for maybe three years when I first got to Korea. Half ignorance, half disobedience. (Summed: Didn’t think it’d bite me.) I knew several folk got notified when they returned Stateside about not filing for x years in a row. They got out of trouble -mostly – but the process, punishment, etc. If the issue was big enough, you’d get Flagged and you couldn’t fly out of Korea until you resolved the issue, however that was.
Canadians and other expats playfully poked fun at us Yanks over it. We poked them back for sucking. So we win.
*neener*
Hell if I moved abroad I would renounce my citizenship too.
Why should I fork over money to the grifters here?

Every so often, spare a thought for those in the infantry – it’s a tankless job.
Not only that, they have to tread lightly.
So, I’m pretty serious about the getting rid of the dog. It isn’t me, but the person I live with can’t fucking control themselves with a puppy. They’re the one who wanted the dog in the first place, picked this one and started bitching within the first few weeks about getting rid of him.
It’s a fight every single day over this. Just had to coax the dog out from underneath the bed because of it.
To me, getting a dog is a lifetime commitment. I told them do not get a puppy you can’t handle it. I didn’t even want a dog. Now I’m stuck in the middle of this every day. He’s stubborn and doesn’t listen on top of being bitey still. And when he gets angry or really excited, he’ll piss everywhere as some form of protest.
It’s just not a tenable situation.
Dude, that sucks. I am sorry to hear that.
If the pup is hiding under the bed and won’t come out, it’s a bad environment for him and he needs a new home asap.
lol I had two kitties who hid under the fridge for a week before giving up their protest and living more or less happily with me for the next 14 or so years.
Dogs might be different.
Very much so. A puppy should want to please you and hang out with you, not hide under the bed because you’re always mad at it. And if that’s how the dog grows up, he becomes chronically afraid and that’s how you get a dog that lashes out. Cats are cats.
I know myself well enough to know I could never, ever live with a dog.
Good luck.
Likewise.
Wife is a dog person.
Dogs in general do not like me.
The feeling is mutual.
Find a no-kill shelter and give that pup a home it deserves.
He’s stubborn and doesn’t listen on top of being bitey still. And when he gets angry or really excited, he’ll piss everywhere as some form of protest.
Most of that sounds like puppy stuff plus a bit of insecurity due to not knowing his place. There’s still a spot on my bedroom carpet where our puppy got too excited and peed all the way out of the room and I wasn’t able to completely get the stain out.
I forget, what breed is this?
It is just puppy stuff, but it’s a blow-out fight every. single. day over it. It’s less the dog and more the person. They had no business getting a dog let alone a puppy. I can’t be there 24/7 to manage the situation.
And while the pound sold him as a bulldog, he just looks like some sort of mixed breed pit. Which is another thing I told the moron when he got him. He’s a sweet dog mostly.
Well, if it’s a person problem, not a dog problem, the solution seems obvious.
JK. Yeah, you owe it to the dog to get him a good home.
That sounds suspiciously like my life 15 years ago. I kept the dog for 12 years. Not my fault and no regrets.
That’s the route I’ve been going, but it’s like having a wife who will make you fucking miserable every day if they don’t get their way. I’m kind of stuck with them at the moment.
He’s a puppy. He’ll grow out of most of this behavior.
I have tell you, Bro, with the benefit of hindsight I think it was the beginning of the end of my marriage. I told my wife I didn’t want a dog. If she got one we were keeping it come hell or high water. She got the dog over my explicit objection.
It fell to me to give Moe what he needed. Who could have known a one year old Lab has a ton of energy? Then wife got pissy years later when I was at the dog park with him instead of watching her play tennis.
It became a recurring sore point. Then wife admitted she caused the problem but remained unhappy I dealt with it.
I’m giving you the details because this appears to involve your significant other. In my situation, I think then wife’s behavior revealed her character. It’s possible you are in the same situation.
People _really_ underestimate the time-commitment it takes to be a good dog owner.
Especially puppies; e.g., a 3 month old puppy needs to pee about every 3 hours, a 4 month old every 4 hours, etc. That includes overnight for young pups.
The galling part, Chafed, is that I’m told I’m the selfish one for not allowing them to get rid of a fucking puppy that they wanted, that I offered time and money to help out with (despite, as I said, not wanting a dog), and which has now become my responsibility.
Some people just think the world revolves around them. I give in with regards to nearly everything else this cunt wants just so I don’t have to deal with their bullshit, but I’m not getting rid of a puppy because they can’t handle their shit.
You are walking the same path I went down. I feel for you.
Now, look. Everybody around here knows I don’t like dogs at all.* HOWEVER, I think I’d be looking at finding a new roommate (doesn’t sound like an SO to me, but you’re being cagey 😜) and keeping the dog. It’s not about the dog. It’s about the disregard of a) your reasonable objections, b) common sense, and c) you as a person.
*XX wanted a dog (A HUSKY YET!!!) her whole childhood. That was a hard no. There was yelling and tears. Well, fast forward a few years, and her boyfriend has a dog. She actually came to me and said, “I totally see your point about dogs now.”
Get a trainer, maybe?
For the human.
I had a friend who swore by AKC “Canine Good Citizen” training for her Akitas and Chow.

No shame – it doesn’t always work out, give that dog a shot at a better fit.

“No Kings Rally”
Didn’t they used to call those “4th of July Parades”?
At the festival today there was an old timer, well decorated black-powder marksman. Sat for a few moments while learning the history of the long rifle; how it was from German gunsmiths and brought to Pennsylvania but famed as the Kentucky Long Rifle.
I guess there is a little tournament every year between Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Tennessee to see who gets to carry the name – or so the old timer says “Its on the youtubes”

So, your real name is Jenkins?
Fun conspiracy theory (there’s a lot more to this, and it requires understanding some of my adventures to truly appreciate), but has anyone ever realized that Bill Gates’ company is named after his dong?
It starts to explain A LOT about the “progressive”/”philanthropic” mindset of Gates and that ilk (90s liberal tech types).
I am sorry if this offends anyone. I had a really bad experience, which led me to discover this…
I’m convinced all outward, feel-goodery progressiveness is a shield to deflect from the shit they actually do. (Or are building toward.) Odd case in point: Bro frequently has talked about “[his] alliance with women” when conversation somehow goes that way. I know he and SiL have some hanky panky sharing deal, and I’m certain it was his idea, and that the “alliance” is used by doms to placate those they wanna control/ fool around on.
Others have mentioned this form of projection, and it does seem to hold. What’s to gain from talking about an “alliance” unless to signify ‘solidarity?’ And down that road, we all know madness lies.

One of Bill Gates’ best friends sexually assaulted me a few years ago.
I was selling solar panels door to door, and the guy had me over for a week (taking advantage of me).
Idiot kept passwords on a sticky note, and spent too much time masturbating in the morning to realize that they were giving me time to go through their stuff.
Found out some CRAZY stuff.
Like the type of crazy where it does take like three years to feel safe coming forward about.
Unfortunately my phone was broken at the time (maybe one of the biggest regrets of my life), and didn’t get screenshots.
Bill Gates is sitting on the cure to all diseases (while simultaneously running a foundation to “cure preventable disease”).
The plan is basically to innoculate themselves and kill the rest of us off.
It’s like genuine conspiracy theory shit, but it’s all real: these people pay Alex Jones (to try and discredit anyone that might call them out).

I knew a woman that “treated her body like a temple”.
But then she wondered why old Jewish men wanted to be around her on Saturday.

Listening to ORF’s (Austria) report on the “No Kings” protest.
Oh my the protestors are still using the “Hey hey, ho ho” chant.
And the two people they talked to were a pension-aged lady, and a young guy who literally said he was there because he “feels so privileged as a white man”.
And almost the entirety of the mass media will treat these protestors as the normal people and obviously right in what they’re protesting about.
