My hometown was a hotbed of SE Asian refugee types, and they were almost universally the “model” immigrant. They have to wait their turn to “lead”, though cuz all the mayors in recent years have been, well, not Asian.
I think that will be the downfall of the Somalis in Minnesoda.
When Fateh had the nerve to run against Frey in the last mayoral election, I think a lot of DFL-ers were pissed. Those Somalis were supposed to vote for the DFL, not try to win office for themselves!
If the Somalis try to run more candidates against the old DFL candidates, I think that there will be a crack down.

Yeah, I don’t think the SE Asians were ever numerous enough in my hometown to challenge the establishment bases – basically, liberal whites, blacks.
There were a lot of Turks too but yeah, they aren’t liberal whites or blacks either.
Paid my property tax at the end of last month, then this month an overnight hospital stay I’m waiting to get billed for, both my washer and drier konked and had to buy a new set, my furnace boiler is cracked and has to be replaced and I just set up to start paying for at home care for my aunt.
