Other OT news update: if anyone remembers my nephew getting assaulted by the marine and a settlement being reached…my nephew never received any payments, which was the state of Maryland’s fault for never doing the garnishment. Today, he received payment in full. The guy is up for a promotion and I guess needed to clear it off his record.

Yeah, I’m with Hair so far, Seeing wokism in every little thing is pretty much the same as seeing racism in every little thing. If anything, the heroine is naive as hell so far, and not showing any symptoms of being a girlboss. The black guy is an idiot and a backstabber. This is not exactly wokism so far (I’m still early on in the show, though).

I don’t know who you watched, but Mauler’s take on this was pretty much spot on. None of it really makes much if any sense. The characters are stupid. They say stupid shit. The plot is full of contrivances.
And it is woke. Being woke isn’t its greatest sin, but it is woke. If you don’t see it, it’s because you don’t want to (as I think many of the game fans don’t at this stage) or because you have become so desensitized to the stupidity that you are overlooking it.
From the trannie being picked to be a squire to the subtleties of the females in the vault all being brave and superior fighters to their male counterparts. The diversity of the cast as I’ve argued in the past isn’t just window dressing. It has a big influence on how characters are portrayed and what can or can’t be done with them.
And the trannie is a terrible actor.

Valid points. Max does explain to Lucy why the Brotherhood seeks out old world technology, but it was a small conversation that could have been presented better for non-gamers to understand. As for their technology, they are employing the technology of the 1950s alternative universe of America, not anything more advanced, just advanced for a nuclear wasteland.
Shore up the story, tighten up some of the shots and it will continue to be a mid-tier show that has potential for quite a run and/or spin offs.

I’ll come out and say it. I never played Fallout 1 or Fallout 2, because turn based isometric RPGs are GAF. I bought Fallout 1, and got bored before I left the vault. You can be all hipster and like Baulder’s Gate V, but that is a shitty game experience. One thing I’m sure a lot of people don’t know, because the Witcher games didn’t get popular until The Witcher III, but the original game, on PC, gave you a choice to play Isometric, First Person or Third Person.

I woke up a little early – sometime after 5:00 a.m. – and thought, “Oh no! It’s Saturday morning, and I didn’t turn off my alarm,” a process which requires clicking through four different settings (set hours, set minutes, alarm on/off, and volume high/low) for each of two possible alarms (the second of which I never use.) Luckily, before I did anything stupid, noisy, and counterproductive, I remembered that it’s only Thursday and that the current CEO’s retirement lunch is today. 😳
Functioning ad blockers, things which are fairly easy for content providers to block, are all the proof I need. Most people are too stupid/lazy/just don’t give a damn but you can bet that if everyone started using them they’d all be disabled.

I really wasn’t taking leave in a manner that was best for me when I worked in Vegas. All my planned leave seems on track with not having to scramble with some use/lose at the end of the year. However, any I do have I typically donate to our volunteer leave transfer for folks that are on long term leave for medical reasons.
