Shall we?
Fear! Fear! Fear! By all means, do nothing and see where that gets us.
Yes, because all the satellites and sea buoys got laid off too.
If you want representation to match the population, then it should drop to around 4%.
In local news. An earthquake a few years ago in this general area caused a popular beach at a mountain lake to disappear.
“Bibi? Yeah, it’s Don. Go ahead with the Iran job.”
Nobody wants to be reincarnated as a research mouse.
Okay, that’s my feeble attempt for the day. Feel free to chat amongst yourselves. Peace out, Glibbies.

Economists Raise Questions About Quality of U.S. Inflation Data
Labor Department says staffing shortages reduced its ability to conduct its massive monthly survey

They’ve been lying for the past
440 years. Fire them all. It’s all fever dreams..
The wild and wacky idea of leaving tracking and attempting to steer the economy in the hands of local and state governments and just oh… provide for the common defense and keep states from interfering with commerce between them never came to mind instead of “Ve must have all ze data to micromanage your lives, ja?”, doubtless. I so despise “rule by experts”.
You do realize the masses demand leadership – no matter how feckless or fraudulent. It’s why you can’t be a leader and say “I don’t know” or “we can’t do anything about that”. You’ll be out of leadership in a micro-second. Lie to us motherfucker – just like the priests do!
But…. How will the Fed fund Wall St?
That is how you get Bidens, JI.
Do you want Bidens?
Related – this just hit the tape.
The ECB on Thursday cut its deposit rate to 2% from 2.25%, its eighth reduction in a year. The move deepens a divergence with the U.S., with benchmark borrowing costs now more than 2 percentage points lower in Europe. That gap has become ammunition for President Trump’s criticism of the Federal Reserve, which hasn’t cut rates this year.
Despite over a century of evidence that central planning is a terrible idea, the elite want central planning. The motive is important: they believe that this system allows them to predict outcomes, which is the most important thing they need to make sure they can keep the keys to the elite club. It’s all self serving as fuck…
Sensei: I listen to some podcasts from the Antipodes, and it was a matter of faith among their media classes that the interest rates were too high and how dare the central banks not cut rates!
Trump does this, and it’s morally wicked influence on the central bankers.
That is how you get Bidens
And damn near all of Congress. Do you think I like that this is the state of humanity in this country? Hell, as bad as it is, it still beats most anywhere else.
“Do you think I like that this is the state of humanity in this country? Hell, as bad as it is, it still beats most anywhere else.”
Preach on brotha!
I wish more Americans got to experience real life (not vacations) in other countries across this globe.
It’s all self serving as fuck…
Yes, the only thing wrong with your assessment is that you vastly under-define the extent of ‘all’. It is as it ever was; it was as it always will be in times to come. Life is generally motivated by selfishness. You’re not changing that, nothing can.
Keep lowering those interest rates and you get insolvent pensions. The public pensions can just invest in the private sector equities like the fascists they long to be.
Life is generally motivated by selfishness.
2000 years of Biblical teaching notwithstanding.
Donald needs that staff to operate the queer camps.
If he televises them, will that calm down the “crisis of queer TV”?
If he televises them, we have the next Queer Eye for the Camp Guy!

Video proof that they are setting up the Queer Camp
I was wondering about those….
How does AccuWeather do it?
Basically by using “free” data from governments. They put through their own models and make people pay.

Regarding retirement age.
It is past time to start using some actuarial data based on sex and race. Sorry ladies, Asians and whites you live longer. It isn’t fair to men and Hispanic, blacks to have such a short retirement by comparison.
Technically shouldn’t we all have a retirement age 2 years after we’re statistically supposed to drop dead anyway? That’s what Social Security was founded on, after all.
I mean, I won’t because I save for my own retirement, but for the public program, sure whatever might shrink it more.
Also, unintended consequence of the govt fighting smoking – people live longer.
And now I want a cigarette. Thanks, JI!
MASA – Make Americans Smoke Again
Oh MASA MASA.
That’s why we have to poison the food.
Dunno if I have to add the SLD: the government is a shitty retirement advisor and shouldn’t be in that business anyway.
Aging Americans, for example, should recalculate their retirement savings under the assumption that their Social Security payments will be lower.
I assume $0 from Social Security.
Yeah I did too. Even though I didn’t expect it (until right near the precipice of retirement), the check comes in monthly.
I put $0 SS in all the retirement calculators I ever use.
“I put $0 SS in all the retirement calculators I ever use.”
Same, and that is wisdom..
I walked away from a financial advisor who was making fun of people who assumed SS would be gone when they retired. We all have our biases, but different risk profiles should not be something a financial advisor should be making fun of those with different profiles. Same goes if he was making fun of people assuming full SS payouts.
My god the heads exploding….
The one place it actually makes sense for the government to be racist and sexist and they won’t do it

You don’t predict the hurricanes dumbass, the computer models do. You don’t do shit. And as far as I know there haven’t been any budget cuts because they haven’t passed that big beautiful spending ass-fuck yet. I mean budget. No offense to people who like anal. God I need something to calm me down. Good morning everyone!
Morning! He is also getting upstaged by YouTube/TwitchTV forecasters providing solid weather forecasting.
Yep Ryan Hall Y’all FTW!
Have to say… I don’t think anal (especially surprise anal… so please no surprise consultations, prominent forest lawyer!) would calm me down all that much.
You need to got to your shop and play with your wood.
Ain’t that the truth.
JI thinks you need a cigarette to calm yo tiddies.
Welcome back, Ib!
Seconded.

Thank you!
As someone that made a living making models of real things (aircraft and aircraft engines in flight, electrical systems, and so forth), I keep telling people that you should never take any kind of supposed experts, especially when they claim they can model hyper complex systems that are not 100% predictive by physics/chemistry/biology/math, seriously. For example, the vaunted climate models are about as reliable and valuable to predicting actual climate as astrology is to predicting our daily and future life events. These systems/models are nothing but rigged guesswork, put together to produce a specific result, and exist because these rackets are lucrative work for people that do “research” based on government grants. Modeling systems predicting hurricanes falls in the same category of bullshit as well.
The computer models for weather (less than 2 weeks) have gotten a whole lot better over the last 20 years. I’ve seen them nail events 10 days out. I’ve also seen them miss events 2 days out. I don’t follow that Ryan Hall guy, but a lot of them will latch on to a model run and start hyping it up. I once made 17x on an options trade but I for sure ain’t a financial advisor.
I once made 17x on an options trade but I for sure ain’t a financial advisor
Spoiler: x=0.
Well put I.B.
The thing is these “experts” treat their shit as if it is Amber Gris.
I once made 17x on an options trade but I for sure ain’t a financial advisor.
Anyone who could consistently make 17x without matching 40x losses would not be a financial advisor, but would be enjoying their yacht and supermodels.
Why are you trying to hurt Not Adhan’s feelings like this?

The notion that Harvey Milk was a ‘gay rights pioneer’ is absurd. The pioneers were hard at work in the 40s and 50s. Milk wouldn’t even have been a footnote if he hadn’t been killed.
And, as rhy pointed out yesterday, it’s not like he was killed for being gay. Co-worker lost his shit.
The Twinkie Defense probably helped as well, without that the case was just angry local politician nutjob kills asshole local politicians.

String? Lyncher here! Stand back all BIPOCs!
I thought OBE was just fantasizing about Abrams in a G-string.
I don’t think “string” describes Stacey Abrams’ physique.
A large ball of string?
String theory is a collection of ideas in theoretical physics in which the fundamental building-blocks of nature are not particles (such as the point-like electron) but instead strings.
Even massive black holes are made up of strings.

Fear! Fear! Fear!
Look at the hoity-toity people who expect to retire.
Historically, retirement is a luxury. Bring back the extended family and all the oldies can have jobs watching babies and cleaning the house while younger people go and earn a living.
It baffles me how many people lack this historical context and how far from how things are elsewhere, or were here but a few decades ago even here, compared to what they believe things are.
It does. I was having a discussion the other day with a person who couldn’t understand why the Amish have a working relationship with animals instead of treating them all cuddly.
“Animals aren’t necessary for survival in 2025.”
My only question was “Have you seen the other 80% of the world?”, to which I received crickets.

May Joe live long enough to see his legacy fully and truly revealed.
His legacy?
When are we going to admit this was all Obama 3.0 and Joe is just the fall guy?
I’ve seen an argument that Obama wanted to run the show, but that it wasn’t him, but those close to Biden. The argument basically stemmed from the idea that Obama’s approach to policy-making, particularly with foreign governments, was drastically different than Biden’s.
I have heard that argument as well MW. The thing is, what Obama was saying was that he wanted cover to cut loose and not impact his fake and totally made up legacy. I think most people do not realize that the vast majority of the people around Biden were Obama people. These Obama people went all in on the real agenda the progs wanted with Biden as the front man, because their was near zero risk Obama’s fake legacy would be impacted by this level of absolute stupid inflicted on the country. The top Biden people cared only about protecting themselves and making bank, so they never worried about the other crap that happened under their watch. Other than getting Trump, that is.
When it all finally comes out, we will be told it doesn’t matter anyway, since the Obama legacy is already in tatters. But it does matter to the progressives which elevated Obama to the same level republicans elevated Reagan in their circles, to counter the non-progressive movements.
My belief is that Obama was just as much a puppet* as Joe and figuring out who pulled Joe’s strings will reveal who pulled Barry’s.
*A much better functioning puppet, like comparing one of the Henson aliens from Farscape to Howdy Doodie.
Biden was obviously playing with a deck missing four or five high cards back when he was shoved to the front of the line by team blue in 2019. I remember telling some team blue idiots that had told me it was all a stutter and there was nothing to worry about that they were screwing the pooch putting a guy with clear symptoms of rapid cognitive decline at the top, and worse, backing him up with a dumb-as-fuck idiots whose only credential was the color of her skin and her inner plumbing. They called me all the usual names. Then we got here. They al still call me names, but then want us to just move on, because Trump is Hitler!
You can’t make up this level of stupid/evil.
I think I see your problem.
Yeah, I like taking libs for a ride. What baffles me is the resilience they have to reality. No matter how often they get it wrong, find out they have been lied to, or watch the shit they tell us will work fail, they never lose their faith. It’s a freaking cult. I surmise that is why we keep hearing they suffer from sever mental disorders amongst the most fervent believers, as well..

I hate this generation for nothing more than their willingness to proclaim to the world their discovery of things that people have been doing forever.
Every generation has their own slang. I think it is probably a necessary step in teens becoming adults by pulling away from their parents.
Muzzled: This generation?
When you stick around long enough you see a pattern repeating endlessly. I can go to any Jr. HS in the land, take one look at all of the kids and tell you what each one’s life is going to be like.
I believe responsible parents should, when their children reach adolescence and are ready for “the talk,” describe to their kids in graphic detail as many different sexual practices as they can think of, and maybe even read to them from the Kama Sutra. That will either shut them up about the “new” thing they “discovered” or force them to be more creative.
I got to remember to never get on Gender Traitor’s bad side..
describe to their kids in graphic detail as many different sexual practices as they can think of, and maybe even read to them from the Kama Sutra.
That would be hilarious;
“Next up, the ‘Angry Dragon’: that’s when…”
With gestures and sextoy props if you really want them traumatized!
Sex education is best learned in the gutter. If it was good enough for my generation it’s good enough for kids today.
So, dry humping got renamed. I can’t keep up with the kids’ slang
sumata.

Alongside these proposals is another challenge to the program: Additional Obamacare funding is set to expire at the end of the year, and Republicans do not plan to extend it. If they don’t, the C.B.O. estimates an additional 4.2 million Americans would lose coverage.
No, NYT – they won’t “lose” coverage they will have to PAY for coverage.

“Washington’s MAGA “It Girl” correspondent, Natalie Winters, is dishing the dirt on dating in DC after President Trump swept into office — and she’s claiming “most men” who run in the capital’s political power circles are gay.
“I think most men are gay in DC — either out or closeted depending on whether they’re Democrats or Republicans,” the 24-year-old White House correspondent for Steve Bannon’s “War Room” told the Times of London.”

Any woman who looks like that complaining too many men are gay must be really annoying.
So Queer TV is now just watching political news?
It always has been.
Most men in DC are gay? Shocking.
She must be insufferable.
“It’s not you, it’s me. I’m, uh, gay. Yeah, that’s it. That’s why I never want to see you again.”
Maybe.
The other side of the coin is that even if most of them aren’t gay, the vast majority are fucking democrats, and the only type who hate women more than democrat men are democrat women.
Not really a thing in DC proper. While politics is absolutely Hollywood for ugly people, the women who actually run the bureaucracy tend to spend a lot of time at the gym and on the plastic surgeons’ operating table. They all tend to look the same, but they’re surprisingly hot.
She’s not claiming the men she dates are gay, only that the men in politics are? Or am a rube who cannot read.

Dear trannys: It’s not that I hate you, it’s that I dont give a shit. Your never ending narcissism gets very tiresome. Everything is not about you. Go away.
Yes, this is a raft of sanity in an ocean of stupid. The stupid is born of man’s endless desire to force his fellows to submit.
So much this. I didn’t give a flying fuck about transgenders and what they might do until they decided the pinnacle of womanhood was being a man who invades women’s spaces. It’s without question the most misogynist movement in my lifetime. Far more misogynistic than anything their strawman conservatives have ever done to women.
I used to say “with the exception of actually beating them”, but then…

Commies flying their commie flag…
Then when the CCP sends them to camp because they will not tolerate the mental disorder, they will be decrying their loyalty to the cause all the way up to the moment the firing squad puts them out of our misery.
I did a quick search on Grok: How are trans people treated in China?
Short answer: It’s classified as a mental disorder, lots of discrimination, little access to hormones and surgery.
Curious how these hard lefties are quick to expel anyone domestically who doesn’t 100% agree with the cult, but buddy up to other countries that are openly persecuting people like them. These are not smart people.
+1 Queers for Palestine
I sometimes wonder if they think that they’ll be Heros Of The Revolution after the commies take over, and as such will have their perversions and mental illnesses and general inability to live a productive life, all overlooked?
I mean, the KGB gave Kim Philby a steady supply of young boys to fuck after he defected, but that was after nearly twenty years as an agent in place. I doubt that posting nonsense on Bluesky is gonna earn them much…
CCP China is already marxist. They do not need this marxist cultural revolution shit the entire tranny movement seems to be about there, so they treat it as such, Same for climate change and other proggie tropes we are confronted with dally. We are still in the cultural revolution phase here and have to swallow that crap. Once the commies win all those people they used get lined up and turned into fertilizer.
I forgot what TERF means. I looked it up. Ahhh yes, now I remember. More of that nonsense I dont give a shit about.
anxiety is surprising in that person whod ev thunk

Horrible. This poor woman allegedly had doctors dismissing her symptoms for months before she finally got a diagnosis.
https://x.com/BDSixsmith/status/1930514006139457742
I have a feeling this will become more and more a problem if health resources get stretched. Maybe AI saves us but doubtful. Then again I have to say my confidence in doctors and medicine is lower than it was some years ago.
Well that’s just nonsense. They diagnosed her right off of the bat. Diagnosis: Too expensive.
Socialized medicine for the win.
but the NHS is the envy of the world!
I thought Cuban doctors were the envy of the world?
British free healthcare system?
ENVY… OF… THE … WORLD
Pie, Canada just suicided 11 more patients to keep up, after reading your remark!
Several problems here:
First, she went to emergency rooms (A&E is British for emergency room) wanting them to diagnose her cancer. The emergency room is not there to make the diagnosis. They exclude an immediate emergency condition and then tell you to follow up with your doctor, who is supposed to do additional testing and referrals as required. On average, over 50% of all abdominal pain complaints leave the ER without a discrete diagnosis like diverticulitis or gallstones. We do some labs, maybe some imaging, and don’t find anything to explain the pain.
In my experience, “nobody listened to me” often turns out to be “I didn’t do what I was told to do, which was see a specialist or make an appointment”. I’m not saying for sure that’s what happened here, but I’ve seen it way too often to at least consider it.
The cancer sounds like it was extremely aggressive. Even assuming it was diagnosed earlier, it might not have made any difference. Sad to say and it’s hard to hear, but it’s the truth. Even with early diagnosis, cancer still kills a lot of people.
“I knew it was cancer”. Yes, maybe she did. But I’ve seen hundreds of people who just knew they had cancer who didn’t. Most of the people I’ve diagnosed with cancer were either blindsided or knew something wasn’t right but had no idea what it could be. It’s always hard to tell them. The sad thing is that I’m diagnosing it in the emergency department, which means it’s often widespread and advanced by the time I find it.
Yes it’s the NHS. For all the faults of the U.S. health care system and yes, there are a hell of a lot of them, we have much better odds of detecting and treating your cancer successfully than just about anywhere else. The NHS makes the VA look streamlined and efficient.
Finally, she was very angry and probably really scared when she posted. When you get a horrible diagnosis, you’re not going to be fair or very charitable, even if people did everything they could have done. You want somebody to blame because life just became cruel and unfair. She was in the prime of life with everything in front of her and then it all came crashing down. You have to consider that.
I am biased due to hearing many bad stories including a friend who flew to romania for a colonoscopy as the wait time was more than a month. but things are not organised in a good way in the world of medicine
The emergency room is not there to make the diagnosis. They exclude an immediate emergency condition and then tell you to follow up with your doctor, who is supposed to do additional testing and referrals as required.
This is how it played out for my wife earlier this year. Went into the ER for abdominal pain and got a gastro referral for follow-up care. While the cause of the pain resolved, imaging at the ER caught an incidental finding that was also referred for follow-up.
After additional testing, it turns out the incidental finding is a 3” precancerous tumor. Without that incidental catch, it would have gone undetected and been a death sentence in a few years. Now it’s just a few days inpatient and few weeks of recovery. Very glad the ER caught it and referred for follow-up.
That’s fair contrarian.
My diagnosis of the medical system is ‘people suck’. In a completely free market medical system there were lots of problems. That usually boiled down to extorting everything a family owned right down to the family farm. Thus people fell. for the false promises of a socialist system. The trouble is that the socialist system is administered by the same people that ran the private one. They have just figured out how to better loot people.
Same with politics. Kill the Democratic Party? You are still suck with the people that made up the party. Obama and co. dont disappear with the party.

Never been to the east coast of the US. Are there any beaches left?
How would I know? I was killed by Net neutrality and Covid. Not to mention acid rain. I’m unable to check to see if I’ve been killed by climate change and the beaches disappearing.
I was killed by killer bees. It’s right in the name.
How did you survive the hole in the ozone layer?
The coming Ice Age killed me back in 1978.
Also no idea — the crowds, the manic jet ski riders — all too nutty for me.
Beaches be crazy, man.
They’re in heaven, along with the polar ice cap that was supposed to have been completely melted by 2016.

I still remember when we only had 15-20 years of natgas supplies and 30-40 years supply of oil before we ran out. I think I read that in the mid-80s, from a book my mom had kept from college several years before. It’s a damned shame we ran out of those miracle inputs.
Only all of them.
“If you want representation to match the population, then it should drop to around 4%.”
You mean to tell me that half the population isn’t queer and the other half isn’t questioning? Could have fooled me based on most entertainment these days.
All college chicks are queer. It is totes in right now.
Looking at the gender demographics at the college young Muzzled will go to, it’s no wonder. On the other hand, he should be up to his hips in tang.
The odds are good but the goods are odd.
I’ll just say that I would have killed for a ~2:1 female:male ratio in college.
Fuck…
https://www.bellarmine.edu/about/data-book/census-enrollment/
I think females are the majority in general now but yeah 2:1 is a bit ridiculous.
They are. Somewhere around 55%, give or take. And I’m not convinced the results are all that great….

Have the yutes come up with a new term for LUG?
I thought the other half were inter racial couples based on commercials and such on TV.
Whenever there is a white guy, he’s an utter dipshit.
Yeah, let’s just brush under the rug that the modern world was built and is maintained almost completely by white men.

Drugs, ass, but if a black lesbian leaves the Democrats, she must have witnessed some crazy shit while she was at the White House.
Like Hunter snorting coke off a hooker in the fuck tunnels?
Well she did hook up with Hunter according to sources familiar with the matter. Gold Star no more.
Will she still vote Democrat? Then what difference does it make if she’s a member of the club or not?
In Canada even the racoons are gay?
OFFS. 🙄
Not “queer”?
I guess when you are very gay, your gaydar spots gayness everywhere?
Alex gets it. People find what they want to find whether it is there or not.

1) The natural state, especially of males, being “Fuck anything that you can’t eat and sometimes fuck it and then eat it” is hardly surprising.
2) That this is apparently spun into “Let’s be more bestial in our natures” is… telling.
Gayer than when a Wham! song comes on at a bathhouse?
I saw Wham! in concert sometime in early 86.
“Among the provisions in the Trump administration’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” is a plan that would put a new tax on remittances sent abroad, with African nations projected to bear the brunt of the financial impact….
The proposed tax would add a 3.5 percent federal tax to these transfers, on top of the estimated 6 percent already charged by banks and remittance companies. Critics argue this amounts to double taxation on legally earned wages, as the senders typically pay income tax on the earnings.”

What kind of heresy is this?
Big Bill is just encouraging BTC.
And FedEx shipments of gold bars. I’m going deeper into precious metals.
Renaming the Milk ship isn’t so unusual. In 2023, the missile ship Chancellorsville was renamed the Robert Smalls to honor a slave who brought 17 slaves to freedom in a captured Confederate boat, then became a captain in Union navy, participating in a number of engagements. Milk should be renamed for another former slave, Robert Blake, a naval gunner who earned a Medal of Honor in 1864.
If the name of a navy ship changing is their beef, they have no fucking beef.
Look, if they were renaming the MLK Jr. to the Jefferson Davis, people would have a right to complain. The fact that a scumbag like Milk is the hill to die on is absurd.
Smart move to name it after a highly decorated BIPOC. Let the left eat itself when they try to name it back.
these sort of things make the rounds periodically and it may have before

I have 2 point: Blockbuster was not a thing in Romania and I do not think I ever recorded music from radio to cassette.
I award myself zero points and may God have mercy on my soul.
Same.
I once recorded a TV show’s audio onto a cassette, putting my dad’s old tabletop microphone in front of the (b&w) TV’s speaker and plugging the mic into his boombox-ish (really more like a briefcase) cassette recorder. Does that count?
Same.
The hick-ass backwater I grew up in didn’t have a Blockbuster. We had Erol’s. I still gave myself 0 points, because Blockbuster-we-have-at-home was still Blockbuster.
Yup, zero points. Gen Xer to the bone. I would often have a cassette loaded up and ready to record and when I heard a song I didn’t have on the radio I’d jump over and hit the red button.
I’ve listened to a CD, cassette, and a vinyl record all within the last week, much less in the 80s, when at least 2 of those were a daily thing.
Also, zero points.
Zero= Boomer!
No, I am not a boomer, boomer.
I’m much closer to millennial than boomer (76).
I am not a boomer I am Romanian we were behind the times.
creech:
I recently had a yute define Gen X as “Boomers you can smoke weed with”.
0 points, and Gen X… fuck this Goonie generation bullshit.
I have done all of those things a lot.
And still many of them in the past year.
I’ve never owned an encyclopedia
Are you even from the previous century.
Like many, we had *almost* a full set of the World Book Encyclopedia.
Only the rich kids had World Book.
We had Funk & Wagnalls purchased one book at a time from the supermarket.
Ours was handed down from my grandparents sometime in the early-mid 80s. Don’t remember exactly when. I distinctly remember it both at their house and mine. I definitely had it by the 4th grade.
It was (most of) a set from the mid-late 60s. Missing a couple letters.
Are you even from the previous century.
You mean like the 1800s?
My parents didn’t have encyclopedias, and I never felt the need to buy one. Libraries had plenty of copies.
We had World Book and definitely weren’t rich.
3 points — never rented from Blockbuster, never personally owned an encyclopedia, never recorded to cassette from radio.
Caveats — I recorded from radio to 7″ reel-to-reel tape, lived with an encyclopedia my parents bought for my brothers and me. So maybe only 1 point 😉
I used a rotary phone only because the neighbor kid’s family had one in the garage for some reason, and we used to fiddlefart around with it because we just thought it was weird and interesting.

Karine Jean-Pierre’s announcement that she’s leaving the Democratic Party — timed with the rollout of a new book — has detonated long-simmering grievances among her former White House colleagues about Jean-Pierre’s pursuit of celebrity and personal media exposure while serving as then-President Joe Biden’s press secretary.
The attention-grabbing ploy lit up Democratic and Biden alumni texting groups and reignited frustrations that burned for years about Jean-Pierre, according to seven former Biden administration officials granted anonymity to describe private conversations.
——-
As Biden’s press secretary, Jean-Pierre’s halting, ineffectual briefings exasperated reporters and routinely offered material for the Republican Party’s main account on X. She frustrated colleagues throughout the West Wing for focusing on raising her own profile while leaving the hands-on management of media relations and the White House press shop to other aides.
She never could have gotten that job if she wasn’t… well, you know.

Has a male ever had that position…? Probably but I can’t remember one.

Wait a minute. I thought that gutting the NWS has led to the inability to predict hurricanes. How, then, might it have been “predicted” that we will have a more active hurricane season?
This shit is so tiresome.
I’m sure that there are some retards out there who have an unexamined conviction that the NWS controls the weather…
Or that the fourth assistant to an assistant, who is new, and who is somehow integral to what happens there.
Every season is more active than the last one, duh.
This.
Doom must always be looming, cuz that’s what doom does. It looms.
Keep people forever in fear. Scared people dont think, they do as they are told.
Jean-Pierre’s former staffers offered withering criticism of what they see as an opportunistic grift.
“She made a joke about being an independent last year and now it’s a book. All ideas are monetary — even the dumb ones,” said one of the former staffers.
Caitlin Legacki, a Democratic strategist who worked in the Commerce Department’s communications shop during Biden’s term, also took issue with the book’s apparent premise.
“Kamala Harris and the entire Biden/Harris campaign did hero’s work to avoid losing 400 electoral votes and giving Republicans a supermajority in Congress, which is what would have happened if he stayed on the ticket,” she said. “It’s more productive to focus on that, and thank Biden for doing the responsible thing by stepping aside, than it is to pretend this was an unwarranted act of betrayal.”
Democrats, Legacki continued, should shift their focus to the effects of Republican’s “Big Beautiful Bill, which she said would have been even more drastic had Biden remained on the ticket and bolstered the GOP’s numbers in Congress.
There’s plenty of room for Joe under that bus. It was all his fault, anyway.
Rats leaving a sinking ship.
Legacki’s analysis mirrors what a GOP operative told me. He thinks GOP would have picked up a ton more seats in House and Senate if only Trump hadn’t met Biden in that early debate where it was revealed Biden was incompetent. Had Biden lasted long enough to be nominated, and then had a disastrous debate with Trump, the Dems would have been in really deep shit on Election Day.
Not the brightest cop. I thought that in addition to “stop resisting” they taught the first thing you do is turn your camera off.

Recent fixes to long-standing problems at the Federal Emergency Management Agency are in jeopardy as the Trump administration slashes programs and cuts staff, emergency experts warn.
FEMA has been plagued for decades by accusations that it fails to help the most vulnerable victims of disasters. Poor people, racial minorities and those who live in rural and tribal areas have been chronically ignored or denied crucial help after disasters, with long-term and even deadly consequences for families, NPR investigations have found.
Under the Biden administration, FEMA took some concrete steps to address those problems. For example, the agency simplified forms that disaster victims must fill out to apply for money, loosened requirements to prove residency and made some money for essential items like food and diapers available immediately.
Now, some of those efforts have been canceled, while others face an uncertain future. President Trump has repeatedly said that he believed FEMA should not exist in its current form. He has also moved to eliminate so-called equity programs meant to ensure that the federal government serves Americans from all economic, geographic and ethnic groups
Joe had turned FEMA into a marvel of efficiency. Now Trump is destroying it.
I’m sure those in Appalachian NC agree.
Joe was like a loving father to the poors and the minorities and now Donald comes and rips it all away. Monster.
I think the Donald should celebrate Black History month next year by announcing he will allow African Americans to come to the White House and touch his leg hair.
“he will allow African Americans to come to the White House ”
And, still, only half the Phila. Eagles team will show up.
“Democratic Vermont Rep. Becca Balint said during a town hall in Newport on May 29 that America’s reliance on migrant labor is no longer a political issue but an issue of national survival….
“I’m going to be really crude right now. We’re not going to have anybody around to wipe our asses because we don’t have enough people to fill the jobs that we have right now,” Balint said.”

Domestic ass wipers are just sparkling wine.
Is there anything we can do on our own?
Meth?
Speaking the quiet part out loud there. “Democrats aren’t capable of wiping their own asses.”
Congratulations, Becca. I always enjoy seeing someone become a meme in real time.
What, you guys don’t have a migrant butt wiper at your house?
I had to let her go. Inflation is a bitch.
They have zero shame telling us that they need these peasants to do the dirty work for them, huh?
So she’s saying we’re all going to die?
To be fair, that is one job *I* don’t want to do.
There are markers in life that let you know you’ve graduated to the next level.
16 you can drive
18 you can vote
21 you can drink
25 your car insurance goes down
But after a while those graduations aren’t age-based anymore. Not having to wipe anyone’s ass but your own (because your children have figured out how not to walk around with shit-ass) is one of those milestones.
FEMA did not respond to questions from NPR about how it intends to help all Americans adequately after disasters, or whether reforms made under the Biden administration will be rolled back.
“There was a lot of headway being made,” says Chauncia Willis-Johnson, the former emergency manager for Tampa, Fla., and the leader of the Institute for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Management. “Now, not only have we stopped, but we’ve actually regressed.”
They’re going to shoot anybody who voted for Biden when the next hurricane comes.
I guess that’s sorta the same as actively ordering people to skip houses with Trump signs.
There was definitely no rot there. Only upstanding public servants out to help downtrodden Americans.
Good. Why would they waste their time talking to a grotesquely biased outlet with an agenda to push?

Earlier this spring, FEMA also canceled a major disaster preparedness grant program that had awarded tens of billions of dollars to help underserved rural communities prepare for floods, wildfires and other extreme events that are getting more common as the climate changes.
The program had also helped some small towns and tribal communities by providing technical aid in applying for highly sought after federal funds. “We wanted them to have a fair shot at the funding that was out there,” Criswell explains . Now, that assistance is gone.
Free money! Gitcher free money now!

I keep contemplating a Ford Model A in retirement. Low cost, good parts supply and let’s you have fun with what old cars used to be.
Depends on the roads wherever I retire however.
That RZR rebodied with the Model A speedster that someone put a video up of the other day really got me thinking. Do it right, and no worries about the roads.
Anyone here played the Silent Hill franchise? I’ve never had an interest, but the Japan angle here is intriguing to me.

Yes, some of them are good games. I rage-quit the most recent one because I just couldn’t git gud enough, though.
Hmmm. Thanks!
Yeah one of the key features of those games is feeding you just enough medicine and ammo to stay alive.
But I fucked up the same sequence three or four times to a point where it was just not possible to continue – there is no accommodation for different skill levels – and said fuck it.
Better toss another trillion bucks on the fire
The targets were Russian warplanes, including strategic bombers and command-and-control aircraft, worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The weapons were Ukrainian drones, each costing under $1,000 and launched from wooden containers carried on trucks.
“Operation Spiderweb,” which Ukraine said destroyed or damaged over 40 aircraft parked near air bases across Russia on Sunday, wasn’t just a blow to the Kremlin’s prestige. It was also a wake-up call for the West to bolster its air defense systems against such hybrid tactics, military experts said.
That should keep Raytheon and General Dynamics afloat for a few more years.
Someone here mentioned Russia’s bombers were sitting out in the open like that because of a treaty with the United States.
If so, with a US proxy destroying them, I don’t see this ending well. At least Trump is slowing the flow of US taxpayer funded weapons to Ukraine now, and they can just settle it without our involvement.
Yep, and I think that is why Trump came out and said, bluntly, that Putin is going to seek a bit of payback on that prior to any cease fire that might or might not occur.
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/trump-says-he-spoke-putin-about-ukraine-drone-attacks-iran-2025-06-04/
The Russians are going to end up losing less money from that attack than we do. The Ukraine has screwed us once again.
My gut is telling me there are some Dems or Republican warhawks that encouraged this behind the scenes again.
I’m also hearing they over-reported the damage and this is just a big PR event. The UK just announced they are providing more drones based on this attack.
I honestly don’t believe one bit of the reporting. It’s all shameless propaganda.
“The time is now” to invest in anti-drone defenses, she said.
Low-cost options to protect aircraft include using hardened shelters, dispersing the targets to different bases and camouflaging them or even building decoys.
Why didn’t anybody think of that?
I know, right?
Some people claim that there’s a woman to blame

I am so tired of being in this hospital
So far no bleeding, but I have been living off of broth and jello for the last few days
They are giving me soup for lunch and if I have no problems, a regular dinner
If there are no problems a couple hours after dinner I can go home tonight
Glad you are getting better. I wouldn’t discharge outside of regular hours though.
Why not?
Because if you have any questions or concerns they’ll only be some resident working as a hospitalist. The doctors involved with your case would have gone home for the day.
Also, discharge papers often leave out important information.
Attaboy, Ron! Sip on that broth like you mean it!
If there are no problems a couple hours after dinner I can go home tonight
Take the W if that happens! I was hoping you’d post an update.
Glad to hear yer on the mend!

Fighting the good fight
Twenty-five years later, WorldPride continues — this year in Washington, D.C. But so does the queer community’s fight to be seen, said Beal, now 69. Members of the queer community have expressed fear, hesitation and fortitude as Pride festivities kicked off in D.C., where President Trump signed several executive orders limiting the rights of transgender people, including banning them from the military, banning transgender women from women’s sports and ending gender-affirming care for those under age 19.
“Fight to be seen.”
Just
fucking
stop.
It’s good of them to assemble in one place like this. It makes it easier to round them up and ship them off to the camps, where they will be put to work as ass wipers.
Their constant gathering belies their bullshit stupidity about “camps.” If you’re afraid of being rounded up because of your identity, you don’t go flout that identity in a massive group of people who all share the same identity.
If y’all would stop being a bunch of narcissistic attention seekers…you’d be a lot happier. As would the rest of us.
All just further evidence that “queer” just means “radical leftist”.
Your average gays don’t give a shit about beating up females or “gender-affirming care”.
“A leading pro-LGBT group this week published a report on “anti-LGBTQ incidents” in the United States. It’s incredibly shocking — but not in the way you’d think.
GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) reported more than 932 hate incidents across the country over the year that ended May 1. The group also claims that “anti-trans hate hit a record high” and that “52% of all incidents were targeting transgender and gender nonconforming people.”
Here’s the kicker: the biggest category of incidents GLAAD recorded was “protests.”
….Another eye-catching category in GLAAD’s report was “propaganda drops,” with more than 60 incidents, although it is not exactly clear what a “propaganda drop” is. Perhaps college students handing out Christian pamphlets to an LGBT studies class?
GLAAD claimed trans-identifying and “gender nonconforming” people were the target of over half of all the anti-LGBTQ incidents, but this includes 209 “protests” and 33 “propaganda drops.””
https://www.dailywire.com/news/glaad-says-transgender-hate-is-up-turns-out-they-count-protests-as-hate-incidents
Not mentioned it’s the fault of organizations such as GLAAD for pushing this shit in the first place.
So, there is essentially no violence against them? That’s good.
Neph needs to step up his game!

Sorry for late timing on this – on night shift and wanted to drop this before I go back to office. May repost tomorrow.
Request some serious electrical advice. Italy is not known for quality electrical wiring – particularly in older buildings. This past Monday night, my building in particular had a weird 12 hour period of crazy voltage (and current?) increases and decreases – dropping out completely at some times. I think there were a few other buildings impacted, but I have no idea what caused it or why it apparently wasn’t more widespread in my area. Initially it was just an outage – and hindsight being what it is, I will plan to react more quickly and decisively if that happens – to unplug most devices that I can. The end result of a night of shitty power is that I lost a 220V fan (think the shifting voltage/current burnt out or oversped the motor – you could hear audible shifts), my Ikea air purifier (110/240V) – probably similar situation – both plugged directly into the wall. Additionally, although I unplugged my laptop from the charging cable, the actual AC adapter burnt out – 110/240 plugged into an outlet (apparently not a surge-protected adapter that I was using – will need to do some local research), and the adapter for my Dyson vacuum (110/240) also died – same outlet – even though a lamp plugged into that outlet (local, 240V, came with the apt) still works fine…..Thankfully the vacuum wasn’t on the charger at the time. Also a couple blown lightbulbs….and the outside, wall-mounted gas hot water heater appears to be non-functioning. My landlord has the plumber coming on Monday afternoon and an electrician coming on Tuesday. I was already planning to stay on base for the next 4 nights due to night shift and this reinforced my intentions. I also start leave on Tuesday – so hopefully no long term issues – even if I’m not going anywhere, I’d like to have a hot/warm shower available because I’ve tried it cold (Tuesday afternoon) – and it’s really cold still…even with the mid-80s, low humidity dry heat.
I asked for an electrician specifically because the primary fuse panel (3 fuses for the apartment) located right by the front door – as is the case for most apartments/hotel rooms – was tripping like mad all that night and again on Tuesday evening even after the building power had been restored and I had validated my other gear still functioned upon being plugged back in. For some reason, the kitchen/living room fuse kept tripping like mad until I turned off all the lights and unplugged every device except the fridge and wifi router. Very frustrating to have that happen a couple hours after verifying everything worked normally. I managed to turn on the lights earlier today without it tripping, but I’m praying it doesn’t randomly trip in the next 4 days or I may have to toss out a few groceries when I get home on Sunday. It really sucked not being able to watch a movie or two while staying up overnight to prep for day sleepers before night watch today.
I’m more concerned about the fridge going forward too. It’s a loaner provided by the Navy – 220V European model (US size) – but you could tell that it was also getting spun up or down depending on the crazy power cycle we had that night. My Dad has suggested a heavy duty voltage regulator – but I can’t say that I’ve ever seen one in use with a large appliance (vice a computer) – and it’s already 220V with a grounding plug. My 3 transformers (220-110) all have their own internal fuses (use one for TV and electronic gear – via their own 110 surge protectors), one for hobby room and some computer stuff (large belkin surge protector, etc, will plug laptop into it next time – thankfully one of my phone chargers can be used to charge it through USB-C till I get a new plug from newegg), and one for miscellaneous stuff in another room – small fan, UV mosquito killer light, etc. Several of them seem to have a bad habit of also popping their respective front door fuse when they get unplugged from the wall – maybe specific to wall sockets, but I can’t recall offhand if they were carrying loads (even turned off items) at the time or not.
Things are also exacerbated by not having as many wall sockets available in some rooms. I’ve picked up a variety of 220V cables and plugs, but I’m not sure I’ve actually gotten a solid “surge protector with installed fuse” version yet – I’ll ask the next time I’m in the base NEX to see if I can confirm.
Regardless, it seems that using a voltage regulator in series with a heavy duty transformer isn’t necessarily a good idea – unless I’m overthinking things when it comes to electrical safety and the shitty grid I’m living with. Alternatively, does anyone have suggestions for protecting a large appliance like a fridge – that I would prefer not to have to unplug in case of future electrical disturbances? Greatly appreciate the inputs. The next time something like this starts happening, I’m just going to unplug everything and pray for a breeze. I’m also going to plan for unplugging the transformers whenever I spend more than a workday away from the apartment.
Just get good surge protectors, rated for enough amps, and don’t put them in series.
^ Surge protectors would be my route. I currently have one on my fridge.
Even with renting, would a surge protector installed on the panel be an option? Mine only cost about $200 (self-installed).
Hi all!
The company that sent me the unimpressive FSE managed to literally set my machine on fire.
This is going to negatively impact my schedule.
Apparently they just copied the PLC settings from their new equipment that uses 5A motors, to our OG model with 1A motors.
I have enough spares, but the cable management meant that com/sensor cables and the like which I do NOT have spares for also went up.
But currently I have nothing better to do than glib.
🔥
Did you get the fire on video?
