How could the Ayatollah pass up being AK47?

    • Fourscore

      “Thanks for the heads-up”

Maybe that’s why Iran isn’t claiming any casualties

One of the better cartoons you’ve done. Saw it hours ago on the Youtubes and watched. Hit dislike on it.

      How I imagine future NYC:

      ***
By the late 1980s, the walled city contained roughly 35,000 residents[1] within its territory of 2.6 hectares (6.4 acres; 26,000 m2), or approximately four football fields; resulting in a staggering population density of over 3 million people per square mile.[2] As a result of the absence of any widely recognized bureaucracy, the city’s residents and businesses had no municipal codes to govern them. Enabled by the enclave’s anarchic nature, trade in banned products thrived, ranging from narcotics to dog meat. From the 1950s to the 1970s, it was controlled by local triad gangs and had high rates of prostitution, gambling, and drug abuse.

I’ve been to NYC a dozen time maybe. I like the natural history museum and street food. Last summer I drove through on the way to my Peace Corps reunion. Hard to believe it’s been 15 years already since I got back.

      • R.J.

Look, it’s my chance to post Escape from New York.

    • rhywun

It’s amusing (and not at all surprising) that he won the white vote and lost every other pigeonhole to Cuomo.

      White people, right? SMDH.

      • Sean

White progressive wimmenz are the worst. I hope they like their new hijabs.

      • rhywun

Oh, the commie won “Asians” too – however that is defined. That’s a weird one.

      • Sean

        Asian is white, I think.

    Anyone game on Amazon’s Luna?

    • Sean

The fuck was that? Did I just get added to another list? 🤬

      • Brochettaward

They have a list to keep track of all the lists I’m on.

    • dbleagle

Based on the reported IDF casualties:
      1) Quality control of weapons and rounds is subpar, so who knows where the bullets actually go?
      2) They still can’t shoot worth shit with it.
      3) Both of the above.

      • Derpetologist

Ah, I see you are familiar with the Inshallah School of Marksmanship AKA Iraqi Death Blossom.

      • dbleagle

Yep. I also helped train Kuwait “snipers”.

      • Gustave Lytton

I worked adjacent to the Kuwaitis. They were…different. Officers driving POVs and wearing civvies out in the field.

    • R.J.

That’s such a good one. And you get fancy dress Leela.

    • Ted S.

      Everybody Weng Chang tonight.

I appreciated the soft touches in this. The lavender color for Graham made me laugh out loud. The Hat’s first post was a winner as well.

Wow, I think I have discovered the world’s smallest hotel room. I wonder how they even managed to shoehorn the bed in.

    • dbleagle

Be careful of rooms said to “intimate.”

Good luck typing without bruising your elbows.

    • Evan from Evansville

      Um. Are you in Japan?

Those lie-in bed hotels are kinda dope. I mean, they’re monstrous in their own way, but it does give you Your Space. It’s a very comfortable locker.

That was a fun experiment the ex and I did. Dormitory-style showers, but your own shower and dressing room. But small. Though private!

Asian density in cities is absolutely fascinating.

      • rhywun

Ha, no… NYC. On the bright side, The Book of Mormon is next door. I wish I had tickets.

  10. Evan from Evansville

I’m very upset I fell asleep long ago.

I woke, missed the Cubs shutout, and have to reawaken in four hours.

Dirty Jobs is on, and he’s damn good, Rowe.

    I should check the zoom.

Regardless of contact, kick ass tomorrow, y’all. It’s gonna be a glorious day.

    • Ted S.

      It’s baseball. You didn’t miss anything. :-p

        Allons-y !

      • Rat on a train

        But what about gas prices?

      • Suthenboy

        Good morning all.

I have been killing time this morning watching various ‘science’ videos by various ‘experts’. Holy shit. I am tempted to say that academia and science in general are in deep trouble but that is not correct. It’s always been this way. A very small group of people we rarely hear from are quietly tinkering away at things that work. Who said yesterday they had not been to a hospital in 20 years and a recent visit blew them away at the advances they saw? Those advances in every field are always done at great cost and in spite of the ocean of morons we are adrift in. I would be better off just ignoring the cacophony of idiocy and trust in those people.

From the article on the expected and predictable rise in summer gas prices: “…stricter rules on refineries to encourage them to create lower-carbon fuels.”
That statement is shockingly stupid. Wow. Do I even want to try and unravel it? Maybe I will just get another cup of coffee.

      • Rat on a train

Add impurities to the fuel. That will reduce the carbon content.

    • Gender Traitor

Good morning, homey, Sean, Teh Hype, Roat, and Ted’S.!

      • Rat on a train

The weather is forecast to break today back to normal hot.

      • slumbrew

30 degree drop in temps today.

        New England, you so crazy

      • Gender Traitor

I could have sworn our “heat advisory” was supposed to end yesterday evening when some thunderstorms came through. They’ve extended it until tomorrow evening. 😑

      • Gender Traitor

Good morning, U! I have a dentist appointment (routine) at 8:30, so I hope that goes well. Took a dose of cough syrup to (I hope) suppress this pesky occasional cough that refuses to go away completely. Hope it lasts at least through my tooth cleaning.

        How are you?

      • UnCivilServant

I managed to fall asleep in the wee hours and overslept relating to my work schedule. But I’m connected.

      • Gender Traitor

Oops! With any luck, maybe no one will notice. 😬

      • Gender Traitor

Oh, heck! That’s not even late for hourly employees at my office. Our timekeeping system rounds to the nearest quarter hour. ⏰

  12. Evan from Evansville

Thanks and apologies to zoomers last night. I had such a great weekend w my nephews. Upset I slightly unraveled yesterday.

Didn’t set my big alarm and slept through two others. Got to work around 5:40. No one has mentioned my 40min tardy.

I really do hope y’all do well today. I’m doing better than expected, I s’pose.

  13. Ted S.

I’m mildly disappointed that it seems like the local supermarket chain no longer has own-brand yogurt in certain flavors I prefer.

    • Ted S.

The store I normally shop at is being renovated, so I’m not surprised they’ve got less in stock. The next closest store didn’t have those flavors, either.

Then again, the second store isn’t as big as the first. I remember it seemed huge when it opened in the late 80s.

    • Fourscore

      Life is like that, Ted,S.

I was severely disappointed everyday for 13 years married to my first wife.

Things will get better, you’ll see.

    • Sean

Everything I like eventually gets discontinued. 🙁

    Morning All,

Cool again today (high of 63 forecast) and maybe a few drops of rain this afternoon, but who cares, right?

I was a shut in yesterday, rain all day but back at ’em today. Enjoy the summer!

    • UnCivilServant

It’s 69 degrees here, which feels cooler than days past. We’re supposed to have thunderstorms later today. Might break the heat wave.

    • juris imprudent

Mornin’, one more day of heat here then a bit of a break.
