Hello. Let me tell you about a friend of mine named Jedediah, after his grandfather in the war.

He didn’t make much money, but he kept his family fed.

One afternoon he was hunting for to put some meat on the table, when an errant shot was fortunate enough to hit a wet oil spot, yippee!

His family went hungry that night.

The speculators looking to acquire mineral rights said, “Sir, you should relocate to a more suitable location”, and so the family moved to a tony neighborhood in California with concrete ponds and movie stars.

They developed urban squirrel hunting and swimming raccoons just for fun.

Jethro Bodine was fundamental in the field of guzintahs, which is how we observe dense matter.

Mr. Clampett developed the 15 round crack back shotgun, loved by gun nuts the world over.

Granny made over 300 cooking shows in her lifetime, introducing the world to buzzard gizzards, pelican feet and so much more.

I spent many hours watch Mr. Drysdale trying to cajole them into investments only to see them squander their fortune on Whammo Frisbee…

whose stock tanked soon after a poor result in a lawsuit.

The Clampetts and disc golf will never be the same again.

Writing from the 23rd, on a visit, be back soon!

“I’ll have some of what he’s having.”

3 guzintahs go into 6 twice

Here is an interesting deep dive into exactly why the Dems are keeping the government “shut down”.

Surprisingly, it is all about Gov. Greaseball providing free health care to illegal aliens. πŸ™„

    • Bobbo

      Grift and control,
      No need to read rhy,

      • Bobbo

        Same page you and I

      • rhywun

        No need to read rhy,

        True.

The extent of the grift surprises even me. I can now see why they are so desperate to keep it going.

    • DrOtto

Unpossible, I was assured illegals were not being provided health care at taxpayer expense. I saw it on the “news”.

    • Chafed

That’s Governor Oleogenous Buffoon to you.

Because of my skin cancer , I have to wear long sleeve shirts at all times and if I bump any into anything I bleed stuck freaking pig , fortunately , I am worried and he all the time that it’s still f****** sucks

    • Bobbo

      Or something like that

    • Fourscore

Wait a few years, the slightest bump produces a bad looking bruise just under the skin. The slightest scrape and the skin slides away.

      It could be worse though.

      • Bobbo

Thats me right now, I bought bu.bers for my shins

      • Threedoor

I noticed a big change in the durability of my skin at about 45-46.

Reminded me of my dads hands and how thin the skin looks.

      • rhywun

I noticed that at around 55 I got that slippery old-man skin that old people have.

      • Bobbo

3d, my doctor calls in tenting, check it out and be careful of your skin

    • Gustave Lytton

I just bought a bump cap. Tired hitting my head or near misses.

Money siphoned to safe account and credit freezes on all Big Three. It was a fun ride, but I’m happy my own Red Flags were alerted, ‘nursing a semi’ to borrow a lovely Clarkson phrase. Special thanks @Jackdaw (Tulpa alert?!) for linking that Reddit! I talked to programmer-business-owner bro and he did some cyber-fu. The email and name is from a real person, but the domain was changed to .us from .com. Most tellingly, that domain had just been set up five days ago, right when I was first contacted by them.

The ‘person’ on Teams was asking me to take fucking screenshots of my phone’s bank app so it could show me where to find the ‘Transfer’ button. Much goofiness. I’m gonna confirm with the real company’s IT guy bro hooked me up w, but ghosting’s the name of my game. If the check actually clears, uh… I’m happy for the $2150!

Always look on the bright side of life! *wee woo, wee woo, wee woo wee woo wee woo*

    • Bobbo

Dont get cocky young man, stay smooth and dont get ahead of yourself

      • Evan from Evansville

Psh. “up $2150” means ‘look at it.’ I’m remarkably frugal. Spending outside of necessities requires *considerable* cause. And necessities mean it. I may own nine t-shirts.

Job search will continue, again focusing on remote opps. Part of the journey.

      • Bobbo

Good, stay frugal and win the game
        /26 tee-shirts

    • Jackdaw

Glad you were able to avoid getting your account drained! Not a complete Tulpa, just a proud member of the Loyal Lurker League since the days of TOS.

      • Bobbo

Oh stop Tulpa admit it and yield to the Glibs!

  7. Bobbo

Evan, I can send you some very nice shirts if you like, they are just a bit short for me, hit me up

    • rhywun

Saw that. “Progressives” don’t actually want to govern in the old sense. They just want power and back slaps.

But we’re just seeing a repeat of the 70s. The urban violence and population losses were far greater then than now so buckle up, it will get much worse in those places.

How did this person wind up at the top/front of the station’s Rolodex anyway?

If that’s the most sympathetic example they could find… hoo boy.

      • UnCivilServant

I missed dinner, slept with the lights on, nearly overslept, barely got caffiene and food before I had to be at work.

On the other hand, I now have bacon.

      • Gender Traitor

Bacon makes it all worthwhile! πŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸ₯“πŸ₯“πŸ₯“

I bought corelle ware because I haven’t had matching dishes.

Decided to decant my breakfast salad into one of the bowls. It feels surreal to not use the store packaging.

      • Fourscore

You’re living life in the fast lane

Corelle is considered fine China here, a step up from even top of the line garage sale quality

      • UnCivilServant

No, it’s not China, I made sure it was Made in the USA!

        /intentionally missing the point.

I try not to speak ill of the dead — but in hindsight, it is pretty clear he wanted an excuse to take down Iraq and an excuse to ram through the Patriot Act for his intel buddies… and boy, did he not let a crisis go to waste.

I suppose his daughter isn’t quite as worthless, so that’s something… still, may he eventually find peace in the arms of the Lord — I just have to assume there’s going to be a lot of purgation in his best scenario and will leave it at that.

      • rhywun

Yeah, all we’re going to get today are reminders of the decades of useless war he helped usher in.

        Yay.

      • Sensei

Yes. I make no note other than he has passed.

“The American headmaster of an elite private school and his teenage son were both stung to death after they were attacked by horrifying Asian giant hornets during a vacation.

Daniel Owen, 47, and his 15-year-old son, Cooper, were swarmed and stung more than 100 times while they were ziplining at an eco-adventure resort near Luang Prabang on the Mekong River in Laos on Oct. 15, local authorities said.

The pair were assailed by the insects β€” which grow to up to 2 inches long and have a quarter-inch stinger β€” as they struggled to descend from a tree with their guide, the Times reported, citing local health officials.”

Well, I’ve got a 2x/yr neurologist appt to go to and wasn’t able to get the MRI they tried to schedule for me in between. Gotta update her on my little seizure sojourn Oct 6 and a few not as severe. Then I’m off to the bank to make sure I didn’t fuck anything up with my account and the scamsters trying to ’employ’ me.

After that? Well, I do still have today and tomorrow off, so likely back into the furnace to search for *legit* remote work. Hope to chat with MN Munchkin later in our odd ‘Two-Yanks in King Arthur’s Court’ duet.

Take care all. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!
