Cat! cat wake up!
Why? why do I need to wake up?
I need to talk to you and you sleep all the time,
No I don’t, I stretch now and then ànd take a pee What’s the big deal?
I need your assistance.
For what pray tell?
I need you to monitor the sensors for a bit so I can rest, after that we talk about my gameplan.
Your gameplan? with all due, ahem, respect, you have no gameplan. Fair enough though,my claws need polishing anyway, see you in 6 hours.
The Canidae’s Weapons officer and ships Cat were on a reconnaissance mission to the human settlement ship in orbit. This was a risky move as we only had our one Pup scout to get us to orbit and back. Lose that and it would be 20 years to gather materials to build another so failure was a bad thing.
We needed to know what happened to the humans on that ship, and what are the Dire Wolves plotting? so it was decided and away they went.
So tell me about your “gameplan” Commander, Cats voice being very nonchalant yet cruel,
I plan on a close visual with sensors as loud as I can tune them but.. If the Dire hear us before we finish we may not make it back. furthermore if we Do find lives still aboard we must account for that.
“Now if I may speak. I cant sense the settler ship but I do sense the Dire on board their ships, such simpletons, at least you Dogs are somewhat intelligent, but I digress. The Dire are watching us and see our intentions, ready to pounce. I can confuse them enough for you to make a pass, close but fast, and we should get the information we need”. Kiki set course on final for the settler ship, her plan was a tractor hop off of the hull, and a quick visual as the sensors did their work, then down the well asap.
It was to be no more than 30 seconds in and out, but on close approach, as soon as the tractor came online Cat sensed something horrific.
“Kiki, abort mission now please, we are about to be surrounded. How they escaped my thoughts I do not know so run please”.
Sublight engaged, I hope you are correct, my feline nemesis, and they arced away on a trip round the home star, 3 months to get home, stuck together in a box.

I trust cats to have a game plan, only if the plan involves them doing as little as possible to survive. (Which is pretty much every organism’s plan.) Humans do tend to make things easier for our kitties.
I prefer dogs, but I can easily see myself getting a cat to start. Our first cat growing up was Yoda, and his expressive ears warranted it. Our second was named KC for “Kitty Cat,” cuz damn, we were clever.
Cats are time travelers, when you see them sleep you will know. Kiki is a nervous Jack Russell terrier who hates cats, and my cats couldn’t give two fucks, they are busy grooming and sleeping
Is there such a thing as a calm, cool Jack Russell terrier?
Eddie Crane? 🐶
Keek, some terrier mix

Exactly why I am a cat person. The barest of toleration for each with occasional pleasure. Dogs are just too much of everything.
each “other”, human and cat
Wednesday my Dach practically raised my Burmese kitten, hes around a year old now but they still play and sleep together, neat.
This is my thought, at present. A cat would be a nice companion when I get my own place, but I’m not rushing into pet-ownership. If MN Munch and I end up going through with our Roommate Strategy, that’d be another cat-ish (not catty) possibility. (It wouldn’t be.) A ridiculous, sitcom idea that still makes sense for us if we managed to combine forces and geography.
Sharing the place with some minimal-effort sentience would be cozy.
I had a pair of kitties for ~15 years until 2020.
Not particularly interested in repeating that experience. I’m a one-and-done kind of guy. Like, I have visited multiple continents. Done with that jazz. Same with animals.
*stares down at the tiny little fucker licking my hand as I try to type this*
No cats or dogs now but I have to feed the turkeys (wild) and deer twice a day. The turkeys run to greet me in the morning, they know the routine. The last couple days they haven’t been eating so much, they are finding something on top of the snow and they just wander around. Fourteen in all, the last couple days the boy turkeys have taken to showing off, strutting around, chasing the girl turkeys.
It’s like young teen age boys on their bikes in the convenience store parking lot, trying to get the young ladies’ attention.
Not so many deer this year, maybe ’cause there hasn’t been so much snow. They are more wary, not so much competition this year. Only 3-4, unlike years gone by when 20 and more would hang around in the yard all day.
lol My young teenage years were *very* different from that. If anything, I was more of a hermit than I am now even.
That sounds pretty wondrously idyllic.
Best parking lot in high school was the nearby Barnes & Noble. Even had a bit of a secluded, but not suspicious section. If I could time travel, no joke, I’d go back and talk to 14yo Ev and slap some “These Are the Signals, J̵e̵r̵r̵y̵ Ev!” sense into him so he’d not miss so much obviousness.
In my day there were no obvious homosexuals until my senior year (1988) and suddenly they were crawling out of the woodwork in the younger classes. Being a hermit and having no outlet for amorous activities are highlights of my uneventful HS years.
I was with the hottest girl in school, with her female friend, and after driving around for a bit I asked what they wanted to do. “I want to suck your cock,” was the Highness’ response. We went back to her place and… it never came up. I don’t know how I missed that. (Virginal timidity.)
Had I not missed that, I wouldn’ta missed Hannah Lore freshman year at IU. We were besties a lot of the year and she invited me up to her parents-free place in the summer before soph year. She jumped me ASAP. Nervous, I asked for a beer before I was confident, or whatever. She took that as dismissal, and I never picked up that obvious slack. Stayed for like five days. We mostly got high and played Mario Kart. We really liked each other, too. (She really is my biggest regret, 20yrs later.)

Looks guilty, and knows his actions warrant Actual Shame.
Good boy.
She is the Queen alpha dog, jealous, territorial and a an all around sweetheart,
This is Cat, we call him Asshole, he’s in a trance in this photo, hence the crosseyed condition,

Wow what a looker.
He is so furry, never seen a cat as fluffy, and a nice guy, a love monster
He has interestingly marked extremities, IYKWIM.
I have two cats that permit me at the moment: a Siamese, If You Please named Bean and a domestic longhair named Frankie. Frank and Beans.
Well named!
Our kitten is named for when he escapes out the front door,
Asshole!
From dedthread: Well, I’ll get paid for ~3hrs for today and I officially start in the gas station tomorrow at 5am. It’s only a 5min drive away, so that’s a plus over the commute to see Walgo. My immediate boss seems totally cool with the 4-Day workweek, though we didn’t have time to talk about those days.
So.. 24 days between gigs. Not too shabby, with the holidays in between, and such. They pay weekly, as well. Kinda interesting. Singapore and Korea paid monthly, but I don’t see a downside to this. (Narrator: There is. (Isn’t there?))
—
Biggest downside to this gig? Fewer opportunities (and people) to people watch. I may be on shift with just two people for most of the time. Might have to get to know them. That could also be a huge positive, though I *highly* doubt I’ll be working with Kyliee Crush caliber. Will be damn nice to get my next check.
“9th Circuit Hands Trump Administration a Big Win With TPS Ruling
The Trump administration scored another big win at the appellate court level on Monday, when the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a stay of a lower court ruling vacating Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designations for Nepal, Honduras, and Nicaragua.”
Didja see the memo about the TPS reports?
https://redstate.com/smoosieq/2026/02/09/9th-circuit-hands-trump-administration-a-big-win-with-tps-ruling-n2198988
I’ve been telling this to every leftist cunt I know who was celebrating this and the previous ruling on this subject. This isn’t an ambiguous matter at all if you read the law. Congresse explicitly and with zero wiggle room wrote this to where the courts have ZERO authority to apply judicial review to any executive decision with regards to TPS status. It’s entirely Noem’s discretion here is absolute.
She could come out and blatantly say that it’s because the Haitians or whoever are black and we only want white immigrants. It wouldn’t fucking matter per the damn law they are ruling on.
It’s maybe the most black and white (not trying to be cute there) court cases with regards to Trump we’ve seen and you still had at least two courts willing to rule against his administration on it with no authority to even take the case. Putting a preliminary injunction on the admin’s decision because you think the plaintiff’s are likely to prevail as the recent judge did is batshit crazy activism.
Here is the relevant info:
It’s almost as clear as “shall not be infringed” in the second amendment. But that’s never stopped a judge before, now has it?
I saw some asshole intentionally lying about this online and specifically citing the federal code here. I asked him for his source, and he directed me here. I think he arrogantly assumed that no one would bother looking it up themselves to see that it literally says the exact fucking opposite of what his dopey ass was trying to claim.
Activist judges are a big problem – not sure how to fix that. SCOTUS could easily wind up majority leftist again and then all bets are off.
The judges involved need to be sanctioned/removed. Overruled is not making an effect on these robed idiots.
I saw the Robed Idiots in ’83 opening for the Ded construction company
Robed for her pleasure.
Chorus:
TrojanDikastes Man!Up and ‘n atom, this still-snowy morn. Odd to be back in this schedule again, but I’m off at 1:30 instead of 2.
Have a pleasant one, yourselves.
Waiting outside w no way in. Great time for a kill-time smoke. And now! Someone arrives!

Good morning, Sean, Ted’S., EfE, GL, and Teh Hype!
zzzz…..
Good morning, U! Wakey wakey! (But only as much as absolutely necessary to do your job. Being awake is overrated.)
Yesterday afternoon, about six or so, I lay down “just for a little bit” and woke up about 10 minutes to 7 this morning. I got logged into work, but I’m still in yesterday’s attire.
Wow! I wish I could sleep for 12 hours at a stretch, but on the weekends. Maybe that will help you get back on a sleep schedule more appropriate for day shift employment. 🤞🙂
I just noticed I’d sent the emails yesterday from the wrong address.

Trump to Repeal Landmark Climate Finding in Huge Regulatory Rollback
https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/trump-to-repeal-landmark-climate-finding-in-huge-regulatory-rollback-ff7d58db?st=7faacN&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
Has there been actual action or just another “we’re gonna do this” bluster?
I believe it’s published. Now all the various interest groups get to send in their “end of humanity” commentary. FedGov hopefully ignores like it always does and removes the rules. (Of course this works both ways depending on administration.)
OFFS – taps out of the tedious bias
It is a victory for common sense and for every American. The “science” behind that nonsense was always complete horseshit.
Note that all the opponents are Dems in high tax-and-spend states. They intend to regulate harder to make up for any lost powers, in a claim to “heal the earth” all on their own. Nobody is gonna buy that shit but it’s not like the voters are going to punish them for it.
Because government (and unions) do their utmost to make labor the worse option?
It is interesting seeing the change over time in the graphs.
The Big Money in Today’s Economy Is Going to Capital, Not Labor
https://www.wsj.com/economy/jobs/capital-labor-wealth-economy-2fcf6c2f?st=yEsDyr&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
Everyone gets, or at least pays lip service to, the sin tax idea of raising the price of something to reduce consumption of it. Until, that is, you get to raising the price of labor.
He really can’t help himself. Everything is a deal. Everything is negotiation.
Trump Threatens to Block Opening of New Bridge Between Detroit and Canada

Everyone who has wanted to escape Detroit has already done so. Force the ones who voluntarily stayed behind to see the consequences of what they’ve done the city. 🙂
Having been to Detroit it makes NJ seem tolerable.
