Thanks CPRM, the evening is starting out better already.

The briefings are going to last longer with most male reporters asking lots more questions.

Women reporters will have to think something to get more ‘exposure’.

    • Evan from Evansville

Whore it up. Whores are so hot right now.

  2. Trigger Hippie

I think we’ve got a new gif about to hit the cycle, fellas.

      • Evan from Evansville

Click play. Prolly NSFW or wife.

      • Trigger Hippie

The end of the skit, apparently.

      • Evan from Evansville

Either the Stern Finger Point or The Shrug, is my take.

        Both, is the obvious answer.

  3. DEG

    “It’s too late”

Sigh. Should have seen that coming.

    • Sean

      Caught me by surprise.

  4. Evan from Evansville

WOAH! Wowzadowza! I was not expecting those first two big bits. DAMN. (AI? Well done, then. *tips ) Would motor-bub-dub in her tub all day.

    • Evan from Evansville

Coy shrug at 0:42 is noted for later.

    • rhywun

I’m impressed that she only has two of them.

      • Chafed

        Get to Mars!

    • Evan from Evansville

Stern finger-point at 1:21? Yep, I sure do need a talkin’ to. A deep, long one.

    • Evan from Evansville

Loved the ending for the humor. On repeat viewings, I shan’t include that part.

  5. cyto

Tonight was trunk or treat at church. One trunk had some Halloween lights and a big “vote democrat” sign.

I didnt know the guy, so we weren’t sure if it was electioneering or “scary! Vote democrat”

We decided it was the latter. But still, big change for the area (big democrat area, predominantly minority neighborhood, mostly white conservative church with a large minority population in the youth ministry.

    • cyto

Also… my girls took 1st and 2nd in the pumpkin carving contest. Being teenagers, there was much gloating from one, and much angst from the other. 2nd out of a good 80 kids is not too bad, says I.

      Shut up, Dad! Says she.

      Teen girls. Sheesh.

      • Evan from Evansville

“2nd out of a good 80 kids is not too bad…”

Congratulate her on being the First Loser! (Kids love that shit!)

      • Ted S.

As opposed to Brochettaward, who’s a loser but not a first.

    • Evan from Evansville

      a) Trunk or treat sounds like a fun, drunken tailgate party. I strongly dig.
      b) The sign could be to spook ya about the actual criminal syndicate the DNC is
      c) Electioneering is one of my favorite songs off my favorite album by my ‘favorite band.’ (Radiohead albums Bends – In Rainbows are stellar.)

I hope y’all had fun in the more realistic version of the event.

      • Brochettaward

Trunk or treat is absurd helicopter parent bullshit and a sign of how ridiculous safety culture is.

Let your kids run around the neighborhood wreaking havoc. Let loose the dogs of war on your boomer Karen neighbors!

Like I can’t think of anything lamer and the generations we are seeing come to adult hood now grew up with bullshit like this.

This was true even when I was younger but there are increasingly fewer “third spaces” for young people but especially children to do just about anything non-structured.

      • Brochettaward

And this is coming from someone who hates your children.

      • Evan from Evansville

Ha! Fuck, it’s one of ‘those’ things? I see and understand. The real reason for my ejaculation (damn, how rarely one gets to use that properly in that context? Holmes is pleased) .. is we’re of the same mind. I’ve long held, and told my family in conversation, not argument, that what kids need is more ‘Unstructured Peer Time.’ No parents, can bike to the library or go a mile or two from home just… by themselves and friends.

This is happening in certain neighborhoods, and not the kind many would wanna walk down at night, but it ain’t happening like it did in Evansville, and other places, in the 90s. Even then, tho, I lived adjacent to the Good Side of town. I didn’t get a phone until 2003 when I paid $1800 of my own money for my own car. Parents were all aboard and did pay the insurance, not me. Born ’87, the ’90s really were the last time to have an actual childhood, without any of the digital bubbles people surround themselves in today.

      • Fourscore

Trunk and/or treat sounds like pedophilism.

      • Brochettaward

Have I told you guys my joke about the pedophile and the kid who go into the woods?

      • rhywun

Maybe it’s just a church thing and the real thing comes on, well, Halloween.

      • Evan from Evansville

Well, A for Effort, rhy, but doesn’t land Bro’s setup. Needs more tied up, like the kids in the woods.

      • Threedoor

The trunk or treat thing started here while I was away in the army.

Kids don’t hit neighborhoods anymore because no one is home to give out candy. They are at the events. We tried trick or treating just on our road of a whole three houses and the next road with five or so one year. Three people were home. Zero other kids in the neighborhood at that time. So into town we go now.

      • rhywun

Kids don’t hit neighborhoods anymore because no one is home to give out candy.

Even in suburby areas? I tend to live in urban areas with few or no single-family housing that is perfect for tricks and treats but it would be Sad! if the suburbs don’t do it anymore.

      • dbleagle

Trick or treat in person is still a big thing in my neighborhood.

  6. Brochettaward

New claim – Kushner’s phone was hacked by Russia in 2017 and they could see his screen at any time. Various Middle Eastern countries allegedly gave him billions for his “personal benefit.”

This comes from an upcoming book that has it leaked. It reportedly comes from a Russian spy that was found and flipped by US intelligence. Hundreds of millions from the UAE and others.

Of course, the same people ranting about this would likely want Kushner back as he was the one keeping the lid on things in the region from the looks of it.

The sums of money claimed are rather high. I mean, they weren’t willing to pay Hillary but a pittance by comparison, ya know?

And this is all supposedly told to the Brits and Dutch by a former Russian agent. And these are the same people who dismiss anything and everything else as Russian disinformation when it conflicts with their agenda even when they have no real basis for making such a statement. And disinformation is usually just saying political wrong think.

And I’m sorry, but the Dutch of all people aren’t exactly noted for their clandestine intelligence agencies that I’ve ever heard of.

    • Fourscore

You see, you have never heard of the Dutch operations because they are super secret. If you do hear something you know it’s a plant and can disregard it.

Those Dutch, sneaky and crafty. Wooden shoes are perfect for hiding super secret intel.

  7. rhywun

OT… Reuters is unsurprisingly convinced that communism is what Brazilians crave.

International observers have found Sunday’s vote fair.

    Oh. OK, then.

The two-hour extension thing that everyone is focused on is a red herring. A more interesting question is did the communist really pick up something like 3/4 of the runoff votes that hadn’t voted for him or the Magat in the first round? Seems improbable.

    • Brochettaward

I mean, the same shit happens in the most secure elections in the history of the world here in the US, don’t it?

30k votes found and all go to Biden! What a coincidence, that’s just what he needed!

      • Brochettaward

I was actually looking back on that story of the Somali running for mayor in Minneapolis. The one who was kicked out after winning the Democratic primary because a bunch of people cried foul over the voting process.

Democrats are allowed to overturn their internal elections and apparently those can be rigged. But not elections as a whole. Unless it’s through Russian interference. Or Diebold or some shit.

      • rhywun

kicked out after winning the Democratic primary

I wasn’t aware of that story but I’m sure the Dems had a completely on-the-level reason for it. Procedures were probably followed and stuff.

“A fire at a US Department of Energy nuclear research facility in South Carolina triggered a “radiological release” scare on Wednesday evening — shutting down rail, river and air traffic in the area. The blaze broke out inside a single room at the Savannah River National Laboratory just before 5:40 p.m. and was extinguished less than two hours later, officials said.

While no contamination was reported outside the “affected” building, the fire caused an “unfiltered ground-level radiological release,” WRDW reported, citing the Savannah River Site (SRS).”

Goddammit. Now, anti-nukers will play with this scare story. *conspiracy hat on* Inside job for that specific purpose?

    • R.J.

The government should not have nukes. Only private citizens should have them.

“Tayla Lee Brailey, 32, wept as she hugged her parents and several supporters at her sentencing in Sydney on Wednesday — after already having lost her job and her husband after admitting her twisted crimes, Australian outlet ABC reported.
    https://nypost.com/2026/10/28/world-news/married-australian-teacher-learns-fate-for-sex-with-2-students/
Brailey was first arrested in August 2024 for having sex with a 17-year-old boy in her car, returning to her classes after the sordid hookup.”

The 17yo was not harmed in this story. (I don’t mind ‘the idea’ of cheating, etc, being crimes to those being cheated *on.* People are people and it would never work, accusation, enforcement or prosecution, but the idea makes sense. A legal version of ‘Til Death Do Us Part,’ just Subtract the religion stuff and make it part of the contract. Theeeen folk’d have to put in clauses for one-night-stands, if they’re “Open” or polygy-whateverous and such… but ya see what I mean.

  10. Brochettaward

Imagine for a moment that some congress critter with R after his name was rumored to have married his sister while already married to another person (even if not legally).

How long do you think that’d just stay a ‘rumor’? Like the media has quotes from people all throughout her community at the time where people say they were told exactly what was happening. We’ve had this story out there for years. None of it is hard to confirm and yet they did nothing but run cover for her and call anyone accusing her of it a racist misogynist.

  11. Evan from Evansville

To show the Little People how evil the government is: “House investigative subcommittee is demanding a wide swath of records from the Smithsonian Institution after uncovering a controversial American history museum display that suggested the U.S. military had engaged in “domicide,” the intentional destruction of civilian homes to cause human suffering.
    —
“This exhibition was an installation at the Design Triennial, which was originally proposed to showcase 10 New York City buildings compressed into a single room,” the lawmakers wrote. “This originally uncontroversial proposal was turned into a display of homes destroyed by American-made munitions in various military engagements against ISIS and other terrorist organizations.”

It really is outrageously evil. How better to teach kids that The Evil People need to be replaced by the Happy Smiles Fun Crew, which your Historical Interpreter is a part of, and is happy to pass out free bubble-balloons to all eager youngsters willing to learn about those nasty people.

    • rhywun

Details are sketchy there but it’d hardly be the first ahistorical, anti-American push from that lot.

  12. Chafed

That was the most realistic episode so far.

  13. Evan from Evansville

They deserved it. Cubs had the best chance to keep ’em at bay, but not this year. To all those anti-Brewcrew: Fuck the Dodgers. Milwaukee embarrassed them. We’re welcome.

For the next several months, onward with hockey I go.

    • creech

National League rules! Brewers’ payroll is ranked 19th in MLB, so they got a lot out of young and unsung players. And, supposedly, the vast majority of them are going to be back next year (assuming there is baseball in 2027.)

  14. Threedoor

    Dang it.
Stupid expensive Fillrite pump on my diesel tank took a crap tonight. It pumped a total of 292 gallons.

About 40c a gallon pumped. Toats efficient

    • Threedoor

      No I got that wrong.
      $2.04 per gallon pumped.
