Morley field

When I arrived in San Diego I was amazed at how few Disc courses there were in my area, only three within 20 miles? yikes.

So I went to the biggest course, Morley Field. 5$ weekdays and 6$ on the weekend, unheard of until I saw the course.ย Morley field

Right now the Jacaranda trees are in bloom which makes for a beautiful course.

Looking down at hole 3

This is a technical shorter course with 19 holes and many fairways crossing over each other so Fore! is very common. Over the decades they have developed multiple pin placements and since they change them every Monday it’s always a fresh game.

Hole #4 a big downhill shot

Morley field is the second oldest course in the US, only Oak Grove in Pasadena is older, by a year. But Morley is the busiest course in North America and you can see why. A dedicated Disc course in the middle of a tourist town means we get families, rookies and people just having fun, so a 2 hour round can end up three hours plus on Sundays.

Typical pin placement, low ceiling and obstructed, Vicious and fun

They all parred

Blind shot, check out the sign

With a lot of crosswinds, low ceilings and blind shots this little course can be brutal but it’s always a good time.

No alcohol,

No smoking,

No drugs,

No dogs off of leashes

We are disc golf players, we follow no rules, we party and we love the doggos, so we discreetly(mostly) ignore those rules, a truly Libertarian game.

Excellent form

20 footer for birdie? Riiiight

If you’re ever in San Diego look me up and we can play Libertarian golf, until next time,

Tall Cans!
