The Hat and The Hair Animated: Rerun ep 47

by | Feb 5, 2025 | Hat and Hair | 94 comments

To refresh you memories, there was some freak-out that Trumpenhitler’s people may have been sharing a Power Point with congress ctitters about how to keep Donald power, maybe or it was just something some rando put online. Much INSURRECTION. Of course, there was nothing in there about using vague language of support to mind control people to take an unguided tour of the Capitol.

What’s the sound of one man Firsting?

    • trshmnstr

Pull my finger and find out.

      • Brochettaward

        You truly are trashy.

      • Brochettaward

Firsting is sacred. Have you no decency?

      • rhywun

One man‘s hell is another man’s heaven on earth.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Damn it, KK got to it before me.

      • Chafed

That’s what I was hoping for.

    • Aloysious

I am so confused right now…

  2. Mojeaux

ER vending machine beef sticks obtained and consumed, along with sour-cream-and-cheddar Ruffles. Not crabby goons, but will do for now.

Mom has had tons of blood drawn, urine collected, and EKG taken, and now we are relegated to waiting on sicker people than she is. Very busy ER tonight.

    Her vitals are fabulous.

    • rhywun

      Her vitals are fabulous.

      👍

      • Mojeaux

Not ABSOLUTELY, but I think her oxygen saturation finger thingie is not on right because it fluctuates wildly depending on how she’s holding her phone.

      • rhywun

I don’t even know what that thing measures and I’ve had it measured dozens of times recently. What is that even?

      • Gender Traitor

Is that the thing that makes your fingertip glow like E.T.’s?

      • Brochettaward

Pulse oximeters measure the levels of oxygen that are in your red blood cells. Basically, shows if you have breathing problems and how to treat it.

      • Mojeaux

Yes, that’s the thing that makes your fingertip glow like ET.

Bro is absolutely correct also. If your sats are below about 90 consistently, they will put you on oxygen. Hers are ranging from 83-93 depending how she’s holding her finger. I asked them to replace it.

      • Mojeaux

However, we are on blood draw #4 because her blood keeps hemolyzing before they can test it.

      • UnCivilServant

I think replacing the finger is a bit extreme.

        /deliberately obtuse

      • rhywun

I always get like 98 yay me.

        My finger doesn’t glow. Sad!

    • Tres Cool

Do they have the machine that goes “PING” ?

      • tripacer

It’s the most expensive machine in the hospital!

      • rhywun

        LOL!

    • Evan from Evansville

      Atta Mom, her.

    • Mojeaux

Update: The vending machine beef sticks were a mistake.

  3. R.J.

This episode is great. The typos really made the PowerPoint.

  4. R.J.

Weren’t there supposed to be nationwide protests today? Did that not pan out?

    • UnCivilServant

The astroturfers didn’t have the money to pay for it.

      • R.J.

I am beginning to think that is true. Lots of build up, build up… then not a single article about the protests in progress. I’ve been looking for them. I saw nothing in Dallas.

      • Gender Traitor

Bondi/Tish James cage fight in the offing?

      • Gustave Lytton

And sanctuary states. Oregon has had non assistance on the books since the 1980s.

Hang some of these quislings supporting a foreign invasion. Pour encourager les autres.

      • rhywun

Sadly, I have a feeling that Tish would cut a bitch.

    • R.J.

Yes. Really bad. Like everything else we are finding out.

      • hayeksplosives

My trust level in MSM and govt was low last year but I had no idea how much lower it could go.

        And they’ve barely started.

Bill Gates preemptively claiming Epstein was blackmailing him takes the cake. He’s scared.

      • Mojeaux

Honestly, my problems pale in comparison to all the people in Epstein’s black book.

    • Brochettaward

I don’t care if it’s funny and makes Harris look bad. What 60 Minutes did was unethical from a journalisming standpoint, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the fucking FCC. There is no such thing as election interference short of actual ballot fraud and things of that nature. Everything else is simply an exercise of the First Amendment and media propaganda is not new. It is not a 20th century invention that requires some modern solution.

The bitch lost. FCC has no business being involved here and Trump needs to get smacked down by the courts for even going down this avenue.

      • Chafed

I agree with all of that. I’m only noting the content, not how it was obtained.

  5. hayeksplosives

“ We are going to use synergy to create a paradigm shift. We’re going to do a deep dive into our core competencies and get a ballpark on visibility of our return on investment—with diverse inclusion! ”

Brilliant! I have to slide that into a work memo somehow…

  6. hayeksplosives

Can the Donald hire private security for Elon?

Doesn’t seem like that would be prohibited by any laws. And he’s probably not automatically eligible for secret service protection.

    • R.J.

Elon already has significant private protection for him and his staff. And I think the Department of Justice (don’t quite me on the department) has now also supplied protection.

      • pistoffnick (370HSSV)

I’m not an expert, but I’m not sure I would trust DOJ (or any government workers) people to have my best interests (Stayin’ Alive, Ahh, Ahh, Ahh) at heart if’n I was Elon Musk.

      • hayeksplosives

Yeah, I’m inclined to agree that Elon having private security might be his best bet.

I could see jurisdictional issues when Trump and Musk are together though.

Trump used private security after the election and before inauguration, IiRC.

      • pistoffnick (370HSSV)

You have no idea how much it pains me to quote f’n BeeGee’s lyrics.

      • rhywun

I like that song better now than when it was everywhere when I was eight years old.

  7. Timeloose

Run of the mill multi millionaire’s have private security. Musk is the richest man in the world and one of the most famous. He has the best private security in the world.
If he doesn’t then AOC is right, he is a dummy.

  8. rhywun

I just landed accidentally on the Seth Meyers show or whatever the fuck that is – just unhinged ranting hatred of guess who.

    Who watches this shit?

    • Chafed

Not me. I gave up on all late night TV because it was all Trump jokes all the time. It wasn’t funny. It was unbelievably lazy. Colbert is the worst. He might as well call it the DNC show.

    • Evan from Evansville

Just watched Maddow. It was mindless. (Minutes of giving Samantha Power time to read her transcript.) Share my paint.

(Oh. Pain. That, too. But, yo. Don’t fuck with my paint. I gots my shit.)

    • UnCivilServant

12° here, snow forecast to change over to sleet and freezing rain this afternoon.

      😶

      • Not Adahn

Trash company called me, told me to put the cans out last night. They’re ususally picked up `10:00, today they had been gotten before 6:00.

      • UnCivilServant

        🤔

I doubt the city would bother to notify us of a change in trash pickup regardless of reason.

    • Rat on a train

Local teachers will be disappointed schools aren’t closed or delayed for rain.

    • Gender Traitor

Good morning, Sean, U, Roat, Ted’S., and Yu!

35 degrees and foggy here in SW OH. We got the freezing rain just in time for my evening commute yesterday, but it’s supposed to be getting warmer today.

      • UnCivilServant

        Morning, GT.

Remote day for me today. Hopefully nothing goes wrong at work 🤞. I’ve had two days of stuff not going quite right. Ideally, I’m not required to leave the house until monday unless I decide to do so.

      • Gender Traitor

From the weather forecast you mentioned above, it sounds as if this is a particularly good time not to have to go out, as long as you have enough food and Dew.

      • UnCivilServant

I’ve got food, even if I have to raid the freezer.

I have diet dew for the next couple of days at least, not sure if it’s enough till monday.

      • Yusef drives a Kia

Howdy all! We had the 35 degree misting drizzle thingy yesterday, foggy and clammy, now its your turn. Me? I like OKC but I need warm,
        Cheers!
        Tall Cans Tres!

    • rhywun

27 and rising all night here 🥴

      • R C Dean

        I remember those days, rhy.

      • rhywun

It gets a little slushy and everything shuts down across the region.

We have become a nation of pussies, apparently.

  9. Yusef drives a Kia

Nothing like waking at 430 for an 840 flight, fuck the TSA. Also fuck these midwest winters, if it werent for my dear sister Id be safe and warm,

      • Gender Traitor

Now, see – all you need is one of those furry hats and you’d be fine!

      • Yusef drives a Kia

I dressed for 12 degrees and I got it in Manistee, remembering why I went home. Stay warm and dry kids!

  10. Tres Cool

    suh’ fam
    whats goody

    • Gender Traitor

Good morning, homey! It’s cold and wet here in SW OH. How is it where you are?

      • Tres Cool

        Same- 35 deg and damp
Luckily Im not out in it today. Spent the past 3 days testing in Akron.

      • Jarflax

Testing for signs of intelligent life? Find any?

      • Tres Cool

No, but some crackhead approached my truck and I gave him my recently-acquired change from BK.
Thats my tithing for the week.

And out parking lot is a sheet of ice. Shoulda brought the hockey skates.

  11. CPRM

Fucking insomnia. Been up for 22hrs, and includes getting drunk 7hrs ago, now I’m sober. bleh.

    • Tres Cool

Drunk->sober without sleep is a pain in the ass.
Try some melatonin? Ideally with a 6-pack.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Yep, feeling the hangover coming on in real awake time is not fun at all.

    • Rat on a train

Yuck. At least late night entertainment options are better these days.

CQ/SD wouldn’t have been as bad if I could drink during.

    • The Artist Formerly Known as Lackadaisical

That is the worst. Have fun out there today 😆

  12. Suthenboy

    Morning all.

Good God, the pigs are all over the TV squealing like hell. They have had unlimited access to the trough for so long with zero accountability that they cannot imagine the world being any different. Their sense of entitlement is awe inspiring.

All of my life I have had a front row seat in a master class in useful idiot. I have a close relative who is a walking, talking real life definition of such a person. I remember them arguing passionately with their spouse when Carter was president that he was a good man blahblahblah. Then and every moment since then they have defended everything the left has done regardless of how evil, stupid or crooked. They have passively supported even Mao, Castro, Chavez etc. Obama is a saint. Hitler was a right-wing extremist. I once showed them the video of Obama declaring that under his plan energy prices would skyrocket. I showed them the video of Obama saying we are just going to have to get used to having less. That income tax is not about revenue but about fairness. In every case within a day or two they were denying that he ever said any of that and that I had never shown them the video. In the energy prices case that happened three times within 4 months.
The behavior pattern is classic textbook of everything that has been pointed out on this site and infinite number of times.

I have been thinking…what is the root of this problem? What is the motive? The best I can figure is oikophobia. They despise our culture and have the sense that the left is out to destroy the culture through subterfuge so they jump aboard. They wont admit it because they know it is wrong but they keep doing it.
I am not sure what they think it will be replaced with or what they want and I dont think they are either, or at least they haven’t thought it out. They just think ‘Not this’.
Where does that come from? In the case of my relative I am pretty sure it comes from very shitty parents and the hypocritical ascetic Baptist culture they grew up in. I grew up around it too but I think I had a stronger psyche and did not knuckle under to it. I didnt have it quite to bad. They told me that at their HS prom there was no dancing allowed. The students rented a hall on their own dime and had their own prom. Their Cotton Mather – principal tried and nearly succeeded in having the attendees diplomas yanked. That kind of shit. Also they complained many times to me about the cultural habit of cant sing or listen to music while working. Working has to be hard and painful. You must suffer.
Their mistake is conflating the social mores of the time with the eternal truths in the ideals of our founders. The ‘old white slave owner’ ad hominem. They cant separate those two – the ideals from the people. They cannot gauge an argument on its merits. I think that may be the core of the useful idiot’s thinking, i.e. they are simpletons driven purely be emotion.

*that relative more than once hinted around that they loved jr. college because of all of the touchy, feely, hippy-dippy college professors who would have informal gatherings with students at their homes. It was just what you would imagine…the drum circle crowd. Pot smoking, peace and love, probably sex, save the whales and so on. That is what warped their brain.

These are the people supporting the Democrats today. Their upbringing was fucked up. The Frankfurt School skin-suiting academia was a brilliant move. Brainwash the kids and you control society. Of all the things Trump is doing now purging academia of the pinkos is the most important thing he can do. If we are going to win this we have to teach kids to think for themselves instead of waiting until things get so bad that even teenagers can see it and rebel.

There is my usual early morning musing. Now, I have to vacuum and mop. It smells like dogs in here.

    • juris imprudent

I have been thinking…what is the root of this problem? What is the motive?

I suspect that if one of us had that answer, we’d be pretty wealthy and/or powerful. In the case of your relative, I’d fall back on Aristotle – give me the child for the first seven years and I’ll give you the man. They were raised in a house of shut up and believe I would guess, not any critical thinking. That’s a weak foundation for whatever comes later.

      • Jarflax

We adopted a system of education designed to produce obedient indoctrinated adults, then paid no attention to the ideology of those doing the indoctrination. The results aren’t surprising. It produced obedient patriots when the teachers were patriots, it produces obedient leftists now that the teachers are leftists. There are of course many other causes, but education as indoctrination is the core.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

In my opinion you’re overthinking it, the leftist pretense of taking care of people is kind of a default for most people and they use that to their advantage. Do you want old people to be comfortable in their old age? Of course and that takes money so give them some and similar lack of thought can be applied to everything from education to save the whales to climate change.

Most people aren’t that into ideology or economics or politics for that matter and they just want to see issues handled: They’re sort of useful idiots but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re stupid or evil. As for the politicians at the top and the army of contractors and NGOs who make a mint and then some off of the current system, they know exactly what they’re doing for the most part and they manipulate the hell out of the people that don’t.

    • The Artist Formerly Known as Lackadaisical

“In the energy prices case that happened three times within 4 months.”

      It was a cheap fake?

  13. Suthenboy

I see everyone is talking weather. Y’all think you have it bad? We have had a week’s worth of sunny mid-70s picture postcard spring weather. Everything is budding out and turning green.
I am sure we are in for the usual early spring ice storm that will ensure we have no fruit or nuts this year. ’92? I think we had an easter blessed with in inch of ice over everything. I guess we are due one of those again.
