Two weeks in a row without an intro, so you get the .gif. I’m on a call with some regulatory body from Wisconsin. I want you to know I hate everyone this morning.
¡Enlaces!

I swear this is not a recycled link from last week.
This is also, not a recycled link from last week.
California to sue the Orange Man over tariffs. Add it to the pile I guess.
China to position itself in Latin America as a stable and predictable trading partner. LOL.
Ford announces pricing on vehicles built in Mexico. One is the Mustang Mach-E so they probably wrote it off.
‘One scientist wants to find out why’ —inbreeding. Its inbreeding. Now give me the damn research grant.
You wanted more Poppy? Here’s more Poppy, enjoy your Martes!

*falls out of chair laughing*
Trump is the worst because he both did, and did not, follow through on his promises.
It will never matter what he actually DOES, it is who he IS that is what matters.
Everyone who’s not a left wing lunatic sees that. It’s entertaining to see what they will oppose just because TRUMP. I might hurt myself laughing if a Democrat judge somewhere declares that Trump can’t lower drug prices.
Imagine if the primary criticism of literally Hitler is that he didn’t kill as many Jews as he promised to.
“If”, TOK?
I think you meant “when”.
I’m still recovering from that ridiculous manatee claptrap. How does one pack that much bullshit into so few words?
I will never not be entertained that some bizarre meme YouTube chick that we laughed at is now touring and doing mid-sized (House of Blues) concerts.
Well, shes is Poppy
No, I’m Poppy.
She was more entertaining a decade ago.
JFC rhywun…way to lay down those facts…now where are my glasses
One is the Mustang Mach-E so they probably wrote it off.
It’s not a Mustang, it’s an abomination. Writing it off is a good start.
What else can they do?
You can fling them.
These big companies, they write off everything.
“residents had no idea why so many local children had lost the ability to walk.”
I blame Big Sled Hockey.
Is that similar to Big Sled Energy?
TOK:
When are you going to be in Sunny Minnesoda for your tourney?
May 29-June 1. Let’s see if we can oppose the other teams instead of ourselves this year.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, argues that Trump doesn’t have the presidential authority to unilaterally impose tariffs using the International Economic Emergency Powers Act because it “violates the separations-of-powers doctrine.”
“Trump claims this law is the reason he can impose these tariffs, and he is wrong,” Bonta said at a news conference alongside Newsom in Stanislaus County, in California’s Central Valley. “The truth is the IEEPA does not apply here. Trump has had to resort to creating bogus national emergencies that defy reason.”
I poked around a bit looking at Federal emergency powers laws. It looks like a national emergency is whatever the president says. I guess if Newsom shops for the right judge, maybe the president’s emergency powers could be reigned in. Silver lining and all that….
I guess if Newsom shops for the right judge, maybe the president’s emergency powers could be reigned in. Silver lining and all that….
Until the next ‘progressive’/wef friendly president is elected. Obviously, much like the ACLUs defense of free speech, we’re only in favor of limiting executive power if it’s being wielded in such a way so as to disrupt the ongoing revolution/transformation of society. Or, more succinctly, if our guys aren’t in charge. Like standing brought up below: want to challenge the explicit use of state power to determine what a social media company should remove and limit the speech of people? NO STANDING! Will standing allow us to challenge an executive rule that may limit our efforts? STANDING! No regard to any consistency or principle. The only principle is our goals; are they furthered or, even only potentially, limited? The answer to that question will fully determine our actions.
In other words… what we really need to do is scale an organization like the NH Liberty Association to Congress to get better Congresscritters.
Fuck. Alliance. I always make that mistake.
Ketchup on steak is delicious. Better than serving it raw, or “blue”.
/slides the steak, the ketchup bottle, and the knives away from Gustave
Cheap Swiss steak. 🤷♂️
Get a load of this guy
What the hell is wrong with you?
Gustave Mahomes.

Trump hasn’t usurped a power reserved to the state of California. Why would they have standing to sue?
It’s part of the Grandstanding Clause of the Constitution.
What is this talk of standing and jurisdiction? We have Orange Hitler to hold at bay!!!
Bogus emergencies like: Forest fires, debris flow, severe storms, etc that Newsom has declared?
Well, seems your state sir is in an emergency
I kinda hope they win .
The president absolutely should not have the power to enact tariffs.
Technically, the only reason the executive is able to do so is because of congress, as per usual, abrogating its own authority and granting statutory authority for one of its own functions to the president. Congress undoing its own fuck ups would be a better remedy than the courts concocting whatever carveout they’re going to concoct to strip said authority from orangemanbad, and only from orangemanbad. Which is exactly what would end up happening, just like executive orders becoming statutory law that can’t be revoked by a subsequent executive.
The courts implementing a solution that I prefer may be worse than the solution not being implemented at all.* We are in the middle of a genuine Constitutional crisis right now.
*I am reminded of gay marriage, where courts did not restrain themselves to a proper role – overturning the offending statute – but instead went on to rewrite the statutes and even order state and local officials to do the court’s bidding. Does any of that sound familiar?
Congess cannot give its powers to the president. That’s dumb and obvious nonsense .
And that will not be the result of any decision against Trump here. Pretty much the entire executive branch would have to be ruled unconstitutional if Congress couldn’t delegate it’s powers to the executive.
I seem to recall TPTB shutting down the whole country by lying their asses off over a cold bug. They were empowered to do so…how?
Cheers and applause…?
Could it have happened to a more truly deserving person, I think not.
You hate to see it. Literally.
So everybody LOVED her when they were forced to see her at press conferences, and now that they have a choice… ? LOL
Harris in the wings to take over?
Up next, The Tim Walz show!
According to my white guy decoder ring that Tim Walz sent me as a reward for voting for him, his most recent speech really said:
“DRINK MOAR KOOL-AID”
Wait, what now?
Rachel was doing 5 nights a week for the beginning of the Trump admin, now she’s back to 1 night a week.
I certainly hope she’s still pulling down the same number of millions of dollars a year. 😰
Yeah, it seems like Maddow decided to do 5 nights a week when people were getting canned left and right. Now that the firing scare seems to be over, she has dialed it back.
I am confused. She took over for Maddow? The ratings dropped? That isn’t possible, is it?
“Things can always get worse.”
China is certainly a predictable trading partner. Everything they do or say is a scam.
I am not 100% clear on tariffs, who sets them now, historically etc. but I know it aint the state of California or federal judges.
Have you checked a HAWAIIN judge?
Wow that was a bad misspelling.
Tariffs are a violation of the Aloha spirit, so SCOTUS will allow Hawaii to set its own tariff policy.
Prices on the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV, Maverick pick-up — one of its most affordable and popular vehicles— and Bronco Sport will increase by as much as $2,000 on some models, according to a notice sent to dealers, which was reviewed by Reuters. A Ford spokesperson said the cars with the raised price tag would arrive at dealer lots in late June.
You’ll barely even notice it on your 84 month loan.
Just the price of a Starbucks a day!
Automakers that rely on exports to the US are facing increased pricing pressure. A dozen major carmakers, including Toyota and GM, import at least 40 percent of the vehicles they sell in the US, with some, such as Volkswagen and Hyundai Motor, importing more than 60 percent, according to 2024 data from S&P Global Mobility.
Used (pre-tariff) Lexuses made in Japan will become more desirable, so we’ll see a price premium on those too.
Don’t fucking knock on my door if it’s not important. I don’t want to talk to you, I don’t want to buy your trash. I don’t care you’re you’re a snot nosed brat, I’m not interested.
I’m even more pissed because I ended up dropping my keyboard on the cable connector and now it’s broke – in the keyboard side.
I am going to have to rip this stupid keyboard open AGAIN to fix the circuit board solder joins AGAIN, this time because some stupid kid wanted to ask if I wanted to buy crap.
No, fuck off.
Do you have a “No Solicitors” sign ?
Like that stops em. I just had some asshole ring the door bell to tell me my just inspected roof was damaged and his company can work with my insurance and its FREE!
Im with unciv…fuck off
Yes, I do.
UCS:
Perhaps a new door mat?
I’m afraid it wouldn’t fit given the layout of my entryway (stairs but no porch)
UCS:
Did this kid have a British accent and no law degree? If so, he was not breaking your no solicitors sign.
:: Puts box of Girl Scout cookies back in wagon, goes to next house. ::
FUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuu……….
The damage lifted traces.
First I break the ? key. Now I break the USB C port.
If I get this fixed, what will I break next on this thing?
(There’s a chance the manufacturer will sell me the daughterboard so I don’t have to try to do trace repair and attach a new connector. I am not that good at microsoldering.)
If it’s not in an awkward area, soldering a 30 AWG or so wire to the board trace and then using that as a pigtail to reconnect the broken trace to its origin point is a more straightforward repair option.
🤣
Let me guess, you repair the lifted pads and ripped traces of USB C connectors on the regular?
I count at least five on the connector where minimum the pad, and at times part of the trace have been torn free. I can’t even guarantee I can attach the connector to an undamaged board properly.
Haven’t had the pleasure of getting into a USB connector for repairs, but my side hustle is basically soldering tiny wires to tiny LEDs and flexible jumper connectors as an alternative to using plastic flexible circuits, and I replaced the surface-mounted DC jack on my ancient Dell laptop about 8 times during its lifespan, so I understand the struggle.
Sorry, the tone of that response was a bit harsh.
I’m aware that it can be done.
I’m aware that I lack the skill to do it.
I will save the Microsoldering as a fallback if the replacement daughterboard isn’t available.
This is new enough that it should be something I can get from the manufacturer, even if I have to buy it as a non-warranty repair part.
I’m just upset at having had this keyboard for two months and having it functional for maybe two weeks of that time.
One of those things where if it can be repaired more simply, why not. That having been said, if you can do airbrushing on tabletop miniatures, you could definitely handle microsoldering. It’s just a matter of practice. If you can’t scrounge up a daughterboard, I can take a crack at it for you if you want. Can’t break it any more than it already is.
I had a solar company stop by the other day. He asked is this the “99” residence?
I asked, “did you read the sign?” (pointing to the big sign with my last name.)
He said “yeah” with a chuckle.
“So you just chose to ignore the other other one?” Pointing to the no soliciting sign.
He left in a huff, as I chuckled.
I haven’t answered a knock at my door in probably 20 years. Anybody I want to see will not arrived unexpectedly.
You answered the door?
Yes.
Contrary to popular opinion, it is sometimes important.
Indeed. Some of my ammo deliveries require a signature, for example.
Well, they may now get busts in Cooperstown, but I won’t hold my breath.
Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson were reinstated by baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred on Tuesday, making both eligible for the sport’s Hall of Fame after their careers were tarnished by sports gambling scandals.
Rose’s permanent ban was lifted eight months after his death and comes a day before the Cincinnati Reds will honor baseball’s career hits leader with Pete Rose Night.
As long as he died in shame I guess.
That’s pretty much it.
That video made my head hurt.
Oh joy. https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/rattlesnake-advisory-bay-area-parks-20325182.php
Almost rode right over one yesterday on the hill behind my house. All coiled up and ready to strike. Newsom should declare a state of emergency.
Flatten out the hills around the city so that the ground is level, then get Samuel L. Jackson on the phone.
He knows how to deal with snakes on a plain.
Swiss might get rattled at that one.
Venomous squint incoming in 3… 2…
You can’t get rid of them that easily, diamondbacks are forever.
I nailed one on the drive home today. Right on the head. Hard to say how big, but I would say at least 3, maybe 4 feet.
*fist pump*
Odds are, next time I go by there, the buzzards will have quite literally picked his bones clean. I don’t know how they do it, but they leave a perfectly articulated skeleton (which is a lot of ribs on a snake), except for the head and the rattles. Why they eat the head (and how they survive doing so), I have no clue.
They carry it home, and place it before the nest to show their enemies.
In the state of California, rattlesnakes cause cancer.
The Amazonian manatee is the region’s largest mammal but is rarely seen, much less up close. The reasons for this are twofold: The manatee has acute hearing and will vanish into the murky water at the slightest sound; and its population has dwindled after being overhunted for hundreds of years, mostly for its tough hides that were exported to Europe and Central America.
So they’re extremely shy and reclusive, but also rather easy to find and kill. Gotcha.
LET THEM DIE
Can you make nice holsters and belts from them?
I’m pretty sure they’d make a nice 130 degrees steak smothered in ketchup.
Do you have a “No Solicitors” sign ?
Rig your doorbell to blast “FUCK OFF” when the button is pushed.
Experts baffled
Prices climbed at an unexpectedly slow pace last month, offering a boost to President Donald Trump, whose aggressive trade policies have sparked fears of a resurgence in inflation.
The Labor Department on Tuesday reported that prices rose at an annual rate of 2.3 percent, the smallest increase since early 2021. While price growth in so-called core sectors of the economy — which exclude volatile food and energy costs — remained elevated at 2.8 percent, April’s Consumer Price Index contained only scant evidence that Trump’s tariffs have meaningfully driven up the cost of living.
Better luck next time.
FFS, you’re not going to see price increases the day after a tariff is announced that won’t even take effect for weeks or months, particularly not when the tariff applies to goods entering the country in the future, not goods that have already entered the country and are sitting on the shelves of Big Box, Inc waiting to be gobbled up by thrifty American consumers. And even if you did see price increases, you’d have to go a step further in the analysis before deciding if you’re dealing with inflation, since that’s a monetary phenomenon. Not every increase in prices constitutes inflation, just as not every decrease in prices constitutes deflation (in spite of the federal reserve’s panic-mongering).
Forget about it, Pat, it’s Politicotown.
(that is a Chinatown reference, you heathens.)
Nice spin.
Senate Democrats, worried about Fetterman, discussing ways to help
Help = Shapiro appoints a reliable liberal.
Right, the same people who told us Drooling Joe was still sharp as a tack are worried about Fetterman.
If we are betting on this, I want to put money down on Fetterman’s uber proggie wife.
You get a solid vote for Crazy and you avoid looking like you just stole a seat. She just stepped in while her beloved husband gets the treatment he so desperately needs.
* I’d pony up money for PPV to see Fetterman get electroshock therapy. I would have to be the best reboot of Frankenstein ever.
No, the wife’s a real pinko. Shapiro is looking ahead to burnish his “safe, moderate, and sensible Democrat” credentials.
You know how you thought just about everyone in that story about playground racism in Sunny Minnesoda was a shit heel?
Well we are just getting started with our parade of deplorables.
You know you are living in a cesspool of racism when everyone wants to get in on the victimhood.
Also. Help me square this circle.
At 9:08 PM, the journalos were breaking the story about just figuring out who the real family of the kid was. This story at 9:44 PM says the kid has autism. Some of the original reporting way back on May 2nd also calls the kid autistic.
How did they know the kid was autistic, but not know who his family was?
Am I being too cynical when I think that they just claimed he was autistic to make the kid more sympathetic? To explain away why he was stealing stuff from a diaper bag?
I wish Rochester was closer because those protests sound like hoot.
And… there it is.
Rochester is only 2.5 hours away from you Jimbo…
Soldier’s Field in Rochester was right behind the YMCA where my mom worked as an accountant. My brother and I spent a lot of time in that park. I remember the tornado slide would get so hot that it would burn your legs.
“The issues are all interconnected”
And yet… the issues are not the issues. It’s about revolution and tearing down the system. The “issues” are ancillary to the true goal of smashing capitalism and installing the dictatorship of the proletariat.
Any particular reason why the cops would be trying to track down a kid who got called a racial slur, since that isn’t a crime?
You know why.
I feel like demonstrating against all the times I was called a “cracker” growing up. I wonder how well that would go.
rhywun:
I was more confused by why the person calling me a cracker thought I would be offended by it. I mean, I’m about as pasty as they come.
I wasn’t confused. The malice was perfectly clear.
Oddly enough, being a Jew in New Mexico (tiny minority of a minority of a minorty, etc. etc.) resulted in exactly no hate being directed my way. In fact, I don’t particularly remember any racial animus of any type growing up except maybe on the soccer field during a particularly testy match.
The closest thing I could probably think of would be the Criollos (original White Spanish stock) getting pissed about all the mestizo newcomers. Of course, to our supremely insular East Coast overlords (no offense rhy) them ‘spannicks are all the same anyway.
The family’s are not the only fakes in that story. Jesus Christ this shit is tiresome.
three families reportedly came forward
I AM SPARTACUS!
Id say Trump’s speech in Saudi land was…actually decent.
From sensei’s link:
Democratic senators are having private conversations about how to help Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) in the wake of an explosive report that the first-term Pennsylvania senator is behaving erratically and in a way that may pose a danger to himself or others, according to sources familiar with those discussions.
“Danger to himself and others” = “Politics ain’t beanbag- we’re gonna have to take him out”
If I was Fetterman, I’d avoid all those sloped roofs that litter Pennsylvania.
He is from Bud Dwyer’s state. Maybe they are afraid Fetterman will empty a clip at them first? Don’t forget, he did go after a black man with a shotgun.
He should switch to (R) as the ultimate middle finger.
“I know we’re all in touch with each other having conversations about how to intervene. I haven’t heard anybody say they’re not worried about it,” the senator said of the discussions among senators about how to help Fetterman.
Mostly the discussions are about how to make sure the blood ends up on somebody else’s hands.
I guess Fetterman doesn’t read all of the major publications covering his industry that are all of a sudden speculating about his sanity.
If I was Fetterman, I’d avoid all those sloped roofs that litter Pennsylvania.
Keep well away from upper story windows.
No link between ADHD medications and psychosis, study finds
Speed is only dangerous when taken by frat boys and stock brokers. It’s perfectly harmless when given to children and US fighter pilots.
Won’t anybody think of the children?!?!?!!1ONE!?

On topic!

Titty Tuesday.
14’s a repeat, but repetition is how we learn. 10’s top doesn’t seem to fit that well. Probably best she remove it.
That K-Metal/Poppy track kinda slaps (as the kidz say).
