The Hat and The Hair Animated: Rerun ep 58

by | May 21, 2025 | Hat and Hair | 59 comments

This is another episode of The Hat’s podcast. This is another long video, over 11 minutes after the last episodes almost 10 minute runtime. I guess I was feeling long winded then. At the time I had been watching a lot of Fallout 4 mod videos, so I thought about how Donald could use video game culture to appeal to ‘The Youth’. The joke being that the game was released in 2015 and most of the people play aren’t ‘The Youth’ anymore, they’re middle aged. All of the settlement builds featured are ones I had made, including the one based on what a Trump White House would look like if he got input on rebuilding it. One settlement is even a Super Easter Egg based on my house (#5). I spent wasted way too much time on this game. By the time the next one comes I’ll either be dead or in a nursing home. Good job Bethesda, you release a successful Amazon Prime Show with no new product even on the Horizon and the last true installment almost a decade old. But I’m getting ahead of myself, The Hat will have an episode about that show in a future rerun.

I bring the classiest Firsts to the Glibertariat. Hu-uge, cunt stretching Firsts that fill you with class.

    • Chafed

I admit your lumps bring the boys to the yard.

  2. Sean

I build settlements like Trump builds resorts and hotels.

    • Chafed

Over budget and by screwing contractors?

  3. DEG

“Total boss” – I missed that the first time I watched.

Boston Airport looks improved over its current condition.

    Kingsport Lighthouse looks OK.

“Classy water feature” – that makes it.

Hot babes and Spectacle Island don’t go together. What are the VCR repairmen drinking?

    • Sean

      They’re drinking Brobov’s best. Ofc,

  4. Sean

    Boston Airport sucks.

  5. Sean

Dalton’s is prime real estate. Love that location.

I keep Spectacle Island all for myself, and don’t allow settlers there.

    • slumbrew

IRL, Spectacle is a fun day trip but Georges is cooler.

      • Chafed

Are you going to let Sean insult Logan Airport?

      • slumbrew

The new Delta lounge in Terminal E is one of the nicest I’ve been in. Beyond that, I can’t argue too much.

  6. Sean

    I don’t use mods.

There are some Hutts behind the Stars’ bench tonight.

      It seems to be working.

      You mean the South Stars.

  8. dbleagle

CPRM, I have never played the game in question, but I enjoyed the first run and this rerun of the episode.

    • Chafed

      It’s a mystery. There’s no obvious motive. 🙄

      • mindyourbusiness

Betcha the suspect is Amish. You know haow they feel about Palestine/Gaza…

Here begins the day and it’s gonna be a good one. Nephew’s soccer ‘game’ to close the day, and Wally fatties and talent to scope.

    Be well, all. Prosper!

Next thing you know, Glibertarians will expect you to be signed in to comment.

No music today. YouTube being cunty, like someone’s aunt. They’re trying to make me sign in to access their shitty content. I hope they burn in hell.

The cunty aunt likes me, no sign in required.

        I was on my ipad.

Morning, Glibs. Already logged in to work since… stupid early, because we’re following up on the mess from yesterday.

    🙁

Good morning, U, DEG, Ted’S., Sean, and EfE!

U, I’m sorry you had a frustrating day at work yesterday. I hope today is better. Sorry that you – and you, too, DEG – have to start working again so crazy early. 🙁

      • DEG

At this point, I’m done doing what I need to for work, and am going to the gym.

We’ll see what I come back to.

      • UnCivilServant

It looks as though MicroSoft may have corrected the issue, but we have not gotten positive confirmation yet. Just an improvement of symptoms.

Going to the cloud was the stupidest thing we could have done with email services.

      • Gender Traitor

Microsoft really seems to push users toward the Cloud. Whenever I go to save a document, it starts to default to OneDrive, but except for a couple of specific checklists that I need others to contribute to, I say, “No, thank you. I have my own little corner of our LOCAL drives where I’ll save everything, and it will be backed up just fine.”

      • UnCivilServant

Well, your data is valuable for harvesting for resale and training their LLMs.

      • Ted S.

Did nobody learn from The Fappening?

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

re Cloud: Yep, that extra two seconds it takes to reject the OneDrive default is infuriating…gotta be manufacturing consent for the eventual elimination of local storage.

    • Evan from Evansville

      Local news!

The Colts have a training facility nearby, and some players/ coaches are rumored to live in the swanky properties adjacent.

I love the Colts midnight run from Baltimore.

    Mornin

    • UnCivilServant

I’m glad I never saw that fad. Looks stupid.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Yes, it is stupid and incredibly so. Also irritating.

    • Ted S.

[ subjects everyone to Skibidi Skabidi Skoo earworm ]

    • Gender Traitor

::has to DDG “Skibidi Toilet”:: If someone started telling me the “elevator pitch” for that movie, I’d press enough buttons to make the elevator stop at the nearest floor, and I’d take the stairs the rest of the way. Running, if necessary.

  12. UnCivilServant

My verious news sources seem to think I care about the CEO of Gearbox saying antagonistic things about making people pay $80 for Borderlands 4.

My reaction to the announcement of Borderladns for was simple apathy. While I can shell out $80 without batting an eye – I won’t. I just don’t have enough interest to care.

    • Gender Traitor

Did he call his potential customers “deplorable”?

    • Grummun

There was a crap load of content in BL3. And really great design, the variety and detail of the settings was nice. So value for play time? Good.

The story… too many ::long:: cinematics that you can’t skip, the whole main plot with the super-twins and the pudgy guy becomes tedious, the pointless killing of an NPC for drama, the whiny brat subplot… I’d rather play BL2 again.

That said, I’ll probably still buy BL4, after it’s been out for a year, during a Steam sale.

      • UnCivilServant

With BL3 I just got bored, put it down, and simply didn’t pick it up again. I never finished it

Right. If BL3 had been as engaging as BL2, I might be tempted to spend on BL4 right away. But Gearbox hasn’t earned the presumption of a quality product.

  13. Sensei

Yup. These are the only way to frame such a choice and tradeoff.

The passage of Trump’s “one big, beautiful bill” marked a major win for Trump and for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R., La.), who again found the formula that steered a course between hard-liners who wanted deeper spending cuts and moderates worried that the bill would hurt their districts’ hospitals and clean-energy projects.

    • UnCivilServant

“Clean” energy projects Are something that needs to be hurt, they’re net negative blights upon everybody

  14. Not Adahn

So, confirming what we all knew because we read SF, Biden was managed by five people, including Hunter and Frau Jillden, DDDS.

    • UnCivilServant

Those are saved for the holding companies that are supposed to be overlooked.
