Too many meetings this morning. There will be no intro, but here’s a big version of the .gif.

¡Enlaces!

El Presidente Mujer denies any agreement with the DEA to help with border enforcement. Meanwhile….someone agreed to send 26 patsies to the US.

Yes, Mexicans don’t like Jews. Nobody else does, why should they?

If your irony erection lasts longer than four hours, please talk to a doctor.

Its a slave army. I would think Al Jazeera would know its okay to call them slaves.

The big news this week is Bolivia’s socialist movement appears ready to crash headfirst into a mountain. The Washington Post of course, sees this as a problem.

Yes. I posted this on purpose. You shall now bathe in the evil I have committed before you.

    Give it to me, baby.

    • mexican sharpshooter

I was not aware Brooks was pretty fly for a white guy..

      • Fourscore

        Brooks is white? Oh my…

  2. UnCivilServant

Bolivia’s socialist movement appears ready to crash headfirst into a mountain.

… And there was much rejoicing.

    • SDF-7

Here’s hoping they can take some chainsaw guidance from Millei.

  3. kinnath

Thanks for the gif. I needed that today.

    • Ownbestenemy

      A good ass slapping?

      • Aloysious

I assumed he was talking about the wedgie. There’s nothing like a good wedgie on a Tuesday Afternoon.

  4. SDF-7

Meanwhile….someone agreed to send 26 patsies to the US.

I hope the trusted servant Patsies remembered to bring their coconuts. At least they shouldn’t have had to migrate through Mexico.

    Afternoon, all.

  5. SDF-7

    Yes, Mexicans don’t like Jews

Weird in places where socialism / communism / collectivism is on the rise given how many of the Lenin generation were Jewish…

Given my level of sympathy for the Palestinians since Oct 7… can’t say it warms me towards the protesters here or abroad.

    • Nephilium

Considering there are still hostages (more likely, their remains) In Hamas’ possession, my sympathy for the Palestinians is negative.

      • Fourscore

It’s always the Unintended Consequences, isn’t it?

    • rhywun

I don’t knew Mexico from Adam but I think the more accurate statement is likely to be – as it is in so many places today – that Mexican leftists don’t like Jews.

    • Threedoor

I never had sympathy for the dwellers of Gaza.

  6. SDF-7

Its a slave army. I would think Al Jazeera would know its okay to call them slaves.

Nah — I think they’d have to be Eastern Europeans for Al Jazeera to go back to their roots on slavs.

  7. The Other Kevin

“El Presidente Mujer denies any agreement with the DEA to help with border enforcement.”
Of course not, that would harm the cartels.

“If your irony erection lasts longer than four hours, please talk to a doctor.”
Wait so that was the solution all along? Just say we don’t like migrants gentrifying our country?

    • mexican sharpshooter

      Correct, words matter.

  8. The Late P Brooks

The end of Bolivia’s socialist experiment would be another win in a recent streak for Latin America’s resurgent right. After victories by Javier Milei in Argentina and Daniel Noboa in Ecuador, right-leaning challengers are trying to capitalize on frustration with leftist leaders in Chile and Colombia.

The people have inexplicably turned their backs on the dream of a just and equitable civil society. How could tis have happened?

  9. Ownbestenemy

Oooh, house rattling thunder. Nice. 5% chance turned 100% quick

  10. Shpip

Brugada said living in Mexico City should not be a privilege for a few, but rather a guaranteed right for all its residents.

I said the same thing about East Hampton, but the locals still insist I put up eight figures for a house there.

    • Fourscore

“Brugada said living in Mexico City should not be a privilege for a few, but rather a guaranteed right for all its residents”

Then why are so many trying to sneak across the border?.

Mexico City, possible home for 130 million people.

  11. The Late P Brooks

    WaPo headline:

“What happens if you drink water from a plastic bottle left in a hot car?”

My money’s on “People will DIE!”

    • Sensei

Best part is this is like a two week old question they answered and decided to make an article about.

The answer two weeks ago was plastic is bad. We don’t know. But you shouldn’t drink it. Multiple experts quoted.

    • Sensei

Also these bottles never sit in hot storage or trucks during distribution. Right?

    • Ownbestenemy

  12. Sensei

So we just covert a legislative payment to equity based on some kind presidential authority? Ok…

“It’s not governance, we’re just converting what was a grant under Biden into equity for the Trump administration, for the American people,” Lutnick said. “Nonvoting.”

And it wasn’t $10bn under the CHIPS act it was like $2bn. The remaining is just payed magically, right?

  13. The Late P Brooks

    I’m stumped

The national tour of Parade, a Tony Award-winning musical about the real-life lynching of a Jewish man in 1915, arrives at the Kennedy Center this week amid President Trump’s takeover of the institution and an antisemitic backlash amplified by a member of the Trump administration.

Parade, which ends its national tour in Washington, dramatizes the murder of Mary Phagan and the trial of Leo Frank, who is widely believed to have been falsely accused.

Though the case is more than a century old, it continues to spark controversy from the far-right — including neo-Nazis, right-wing influencers, and the current press secretary at the Department of Defense, who has denied accusations of antisemitism. As NPR has reported, several prominent officials in the Trump administration have ties to antisemitic extremists and Holocaust deniers, even as the White House says it is focused on fighting antisemitic hate.

    This proves Trump hates jews?

    • R C Dean

The Trump administration that curbstomped several universities for allowing, if not promoting, anti-semitic “protests is anti-semitic?

    • Ted S.

Watch Claude Rains in They Won’t Forget anyway. It’s also based on the Mary Phagan case, with Rains playing the prosecutor.

    • R C Dean

As I’ve said, when you have a small problem, you can afford to make discretionary exceptions. When you have a large problem, so 20+ million illegals that need deporting large, you can’t. Not if you want to solve the problem.

  14. Shpip

I’d been thinking of our Tuesday afternoon host as of late, since my four year-old nephew is learning Spanish.

The lad’s been at it for five months and still doesn’t even know how to say “please,” which I think is poor for four.

    • mexican sharpshooter

      Boooo!

      Boo this man!

      Boooooooooooo!

    • SDF-7

Ay caramba that was painful to Si, Shpip.

      • The Other Kevin

I’m sure he didn’t juan to offend anyone.

    • The Other Kevin

I tried to steal some chips from my nephew, and he said “Hey those nachos!”

    • Fourscore

Hope he doesn’t sink, oh, in school

      • The Other Kevin

He’ll be fine by the time he’s a senor.

    • Threedoor

It’s pronounced “un mass cervesa bitte.”

  15. Fourscore

4-5 days ago 1/2 of an apple tree had split and was on the ground. I picked 15 gallons of apples and gave them to a neighbor ’cause she’s good about changing them into apple sauce, jelly or pies and returning a portion.

This morning I saw that 1/2 of the remainder of the tree was on the ground. I’ll pick everything this time, give to a different neighbor. About 25% of the tree is left standing, probably it will be dead next spring.

I have game cams out so if it’s any critters I may have some mug shots.

    • Suthenboy

A couple of years ago a friend of ours got a couple of goats. He still has goats but no fruit trees.
Anyone who has been around goats can fill in the blank there.

      • Fourscore

Most of the fruit trees are inside a 6 ft chain link fence, this one is not. I did plant a few apple trees outside the fence to see what would happen.

Deer are the same as goats

      • Suthenboy

Deer. Yes. The deer are worse down here on peaches than apple but the apples take a beatin’.

  16. Derpetologist

Remember those trapped Chilean miners? It took a long time to get them out, because they had to be rescued Juan by Juan.

    • The Other Kevin

I feel like this is getting out of hand and we’re going to look back on this day fondly.

    • mexican sharpshooter

      Oh for fuck sake!

If you think what you did there is not seen you are wrong. Bravo Sir.

That WaPo article…wow. Everyone that works for that abomination should be fired and banned for life from ever touching a keyboard again.

    • rhywun

Why do you hate the millions lifted out of poverty and the growing middle class?

      • Suthenboy

Because I have a cold, black heart

      • JaimeRoberto (carnitas/spicy salsa)

I think you are supposed to capitalize Black.

      😁

  19. rhywun

officials will propose a law to regulate rental prices, strike a balance between the rights and obligations of landlords and tenants, prevent people from being displaced and regulate short-term rental properties

So… enact a lefty wish list of policies that have helped rents skyrocket everywhere they have been implemented.

    Genius!

    • Threedoor

      That Bolivian socialism moved north.

    • Fourscore

      Insanity definition?

      • rhywun

Real socialism hasn’t been tried yet.

      • Rat on a train

By definition, it isn’t real if it fails.

  20. DEG

In perhaps the most visible sign of how fed up Bolivians are with the party, leftist politicians casting their ballots across Bolivia on Sunday faced barrages of boos, insults and thrown objects.

    That’s a good start.

    • rhywun

I hope the thrown objects were cannonballs.

      • Aloysious

I’m hoping they were the traditional bolos.

    • Suthenboy

Wa Po claims this is Latin America’s experiment with socialism. This one is because that has never happened before.

    • R C Dean

The problem is, no matter how much revenue the government brings in, Congress will spend it all and more. I guarantee if next year the government was on track to collect $6.75TT and have no deficit, spending bills would be blasting through Congress to spend $9TT.

      And Trump would sign them.

      • Suthenboy

        Other people’s money.

    • mexican sharpshooter

I thought the purpose of the tariff was to promote domestic industry? So in theory if they work all the revenue they eventually bring will go to zero because production would eventually return. Nothing is getting paid off.

    • DEG

The last three months of customs revenue (basically since the tariffs took effect) have been between $21 billion and $28 billion. If that trend continues, you have between, let me see…. $252 billion and $336 billion.

That’s really not all that much compared to the expected deficit.

That’s either a ripoff, or that engine is designed in a stupid way that necessitates taking a bunch of BS apart.

Do you like your Tacoma? I’ve decided that my next vehicle should be a SMALL truck since I’m hauling so much plywood and other home improvement supplies these days. I’ve heard Toyota trucks last forever with some basic maintenance (they’re ISIS approved, after all). If I can find a regular cab version, that might be it. I just don’t want one of those gigantic trucks that hang out of every parking spot and require a ladder to get into.

I like my Tacoma a lot, but I wouldn’t buy a new one. Mine (2018) has a fairly efficient V6. The newer (2021+, I think) ones are only available with a turbocharged I4, which is the last fucking thing I want on a truck.

    • Timeloose

The Toyota Taco is also available with a 6 speed manual. One of the few vehicles out there.

    • Grumbletarian

Yes, I’m possibly going to get a newer Ranger now that I can get one with a V6 again without buying an overpriced Raptor.

      • R.J.

Man! I checked prices. For one equipped how I might like it was $45,000. I paid less for the Grand Cherokee. The Ranger has 4×4 mandatory with the six, and I only picked a few other options.

  22. The Late P Brooks

The internet has become worse than useless as a means of finding goods and services. Bring back the yellow pages.

  23. Wood Chipped Wednesday

Had to sit through 2 hours of Title IX presentations this morning. Booo.

Part of which I was told how I need to respect people that wish to be called a she instead of he and how it goes against my universities policies and stuff.

    Lovely.

    • mexican sharpshooter

I can only offer my thoughts and prayers.

  24. The Late P Brooks

2 hours of Title IX presentations

How many different ways are there to say “Men are bad”?

  25. Ted S.

I didn’t realize until today how the US Open is completely fucking over mixed doubles.
