The Hat and The Hair Animated: Rerun 70

by | Sep 10, 2025 | Hat and Hair | 170 comments

I, like RedLetterMedia, like to make fun of the ‘nerd culture’ youtubers, because they are an easy target. I don’t know how they get so many clicks. I want to learn their secret knowledge. But anyway, I did a few of these where The Hat hosted his own ‘nerd culture’ podcast and really was playing Starfield at the time and I really did come across these emails, they really are in the game. I thought this was a crazy conspiracy right in line with what some of these ‘nerd culture’ podcasters espouse on the the more ‘right wing’ channels. People are so fucking stupid now days, especially youtubers. Wait…

They’re afraid they could be targeted by the far-better armed and organized ‘Right.’

Fear brings so much out in people. (a) I do not anticipate this will change any minds, (b) but I’m pleased folk are starting to ponder. I overlappingly agree : Nothing will happen; resentment will foster.

I can’t see it not ‘bursting’ forth. One way or another. The Right is *FAR* better armed and organized. The Left really doesn’t wanna see what happens, but they’ve opened the door, for sure. That folk who don’t want me actively to divorce my culture happen to vigilant against those who *do,* I feel safe in my Kia Sportage.

I’m positive I wouldn’t speak as candidly if my voice were Out There. Steven Crowder, “Louder with Crowder,” does something similar. I like him. I do wonder what their thought on the matter are.

  4. Brochettaward

I thought this was a crazy conspiracy right in line with what some of these ‘nerd culture’ podcasters espouse on the the more ‘right wing’ channels

Guys like Nerdrotic aren’t pushing conspiracy theories. They’re just broadcasting the shit that Hollywood has openly said to a wider audience than would typically see it.

It’s ironic because RedLetterMedia have become the biggest cucks in that sphere.

    • Brochettaward

Cringiest RLM moment – pretending to offer cutting edge insight into Hollywood by revealing how cynical their use of diversity was when they cast Rachel Zeigler as Snow White. This is how these people really think and talk hurdeedurr

As if people like Nerdrotic and his lesser known minions haven’t been beating that drum for years. They then followed that up by mocking someone with a bigger following like The Drinker for a take he didn’t even have on Furiosa.

They admit that everything is now trash, but basically to delve into any of the ideological bullshit. And no matter how much some people want to pretend it isn’t a large factor, the ideological bullshit is a large factor in everything now sucking. It infects every aspect of making shows and movies today.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

When the comments on popular entertainment are more entertaining than the entertainment there’s a problem and, yes, RLM has gone to shit. Even the latest Mr. Plinkett was pretty lame.

      • Evan from Evansville

“They admit that everything is now trash, but basically to delve into any of the ideological bullshit.”

They *cannot* admit they were wrong. Too much of Themselves were invested into it. Religious belief. See also: My Cubs game (up 3-2 Top 6th) – Ya cannot divorce me from the Cubs. Family, cultural and ‘religious,’ I’ve got faaar too much invested in it to ‘switch’ teams. I’m with them. Don’t try to change me. Bad things would result.

(It’s the closest to ‘religious’ belief and following, I get.)

Real thought: They’ve ‘invested’ far too much of *themselves* to divorce from the political, racist, sexist, ETC(!) bullshit Usefully Idiotic lefties subscribe to, are associated with, and persevere in their furtherance. (And they’re surprised shit ain’t good! Yuckers! )

    • The Other Kevin

My peppers are terrible this year too.

    • CPRM

Mine are better than last year, just hoping to get the majority ripe before a frost sets in.

    • slumbrew

We did so-so with shishitos, but the jalapeño harvest has been minimal.

    • trshmnstr

We’re swimming in jalepenos, the sweet and bells are producing well, and some of the “aww heck, why not plant it” peppers are starting to produce, too. The peppers are the single most consistent produce for us this year.

    • Ownbestenemy

Not everything is as predictable as we want it to be….

Or…climate change, MAGA, BLM, Soros monies, toilet paper, anything but a failire to obtain a very narrow sunset of the environment to grow perfect peppers.

  6. Raven Nation

Australian media on climate change: https://www.abc.net.au/news/science/2025-09-11/heatwaves-more-likely-climate-change-nature-major-emitters/105747138

It’s a story about a published study, but the story itself basically admits the study is BS. From the opening:

“A quarter of heatwaves this century would have been “virtually impossible” without human-caused climate change, according to a new study.

And while it’s incredibly difficult to attribute specific disasters to climate change, let alone individual carbon emitters, the study also claims to have done just that — finding carbon emissions from individual companies drastically increased the likelihood of certain heatwaves…”

Why would you publish a study like this:

“It found that Australia’s 2018 heatwave would have been near impossible to occur without anthropogenic carbon emissions.

Research like it may help people initiate climate litigation cases in the future, ETH Zurich climate scientist and study lead author Yann Quilcaille said.”

About 10 minutes before Quilcaille and his buddies get asked to be expert witnesses.

A shot in the neck doesn’t say “pro shooter” to me though.

There may well have been a plan of escape, and I’d bet he had help along the way, but I definitely don’t think it was professional. Reports are the shot was about 140 yards. That’s not a difficult shot. If a pro trained shooter takes that shot, he’s hitting within about a quarter-size of their aim point. Shot in the neck? A pro goes after center mass.

Maybe I’m wrong Planned hit? Sure. A professional one? I seriously doubt it.

      • Ownbestenemy

        Nah

Pro would have been centermass. I know things dont always go as planned, but head/neck shots are not what movies say they are

      • KSuellington

Absolutely. It was someone that was a decent shot, but not a pro. They planned it well enough to do it and get out of there quickly, but I very much doubt it was a professional hit. Hopefully they will catch the scumbag soon.

      • Muzzled Woodchipper

One thing I find interesting s that there’s no word on any sort of evidence. No word on a gun. No found spent brass. No evidence at all. At least not that we’ve been told about.

It’s a college campus. Surely it’s covered in cameras, at least inside buildings. How did a shooter bring a rifle to a rooftop on a college campus and escape without a trace?

Perhaps they’re withholding lots of information, which I suspect they are, but normally we’d have some kind of info by now. Some camera footage of something. Anything but nothing.

      • WTF

Perhaps they’re withholding lots of information, which I suspect they are, but normally we’d have some kind of info by now. Some camera footage of something. Anything but nothing.

Maybe they have info on who was behind it, and if it was organized and financed they are keeping it under wraps to avoid an explosion as we twirl toward another civil war.

      • R C Dean

Well, it’s been less than a day (barely more than a few hours when Muzzled made his comment). And never forget the 48 hour rule. It’s a little early to be putting on the tinfoil hats.

      • WTF

RC – Maybe, but let’s not also forget how many “conspiracy theories” turned out to be true over the past few years.

  11. Suthenboy

I wake up to the media hammering away about the Kirk shooting.
It is all happening so fast I cant really keep up. We have the shooter or no?
I think the 48 hr rule might be a prudent guide here.
Still, I am taking notes. Left is jubilant. Congressional Dems shouting down the moment of silence. Multiple pundits blaming Kirk. People already pissed off about the Charlotte murder…btw I think Jesse Waters named the last judge responsible for that murder.

We have seen this movie before. Leftists are the worst kinds of people and always and everywhere they behave the same. As predictable as the sunrise.

    • SDF-7

As far as I know, no one has the shooter. Suspect 2 that Patel crowed about on X was released later last night…. so presumably the wrong guy.

        Goooood Morning GT and all!

      • Gender Traitor

Hey, Donny. So you DO see it as a “center mass” shot? Some discussion earlier, believing the shot was to the neck, suggested that it wasn’t the mark of a pro, who would go for center mass.

      • Donny Three-Fingers (KJ5GQR)

Yeah, his shirt moves against the plate, then the neck lets go. Looks like it deflected upwards. Nobody doing plate testing ever does anything but straight on, no deflection testing that I can find.

      • Gender Traitor

Hey, U. How are you today?

      • Donny Three-Fingers (KJ5GQR)

Center mass makes more sense from the angle, assuming elevated position and distance.

Anyway, prayers for him, his wife and kids.

  13. SDF-7

Good summary / reminder of things I’m sure we all remember happening but have blurred (The Shapiro one was worse than I remembered, I have to say).

I do think it is way past time to stop letting Antifa strut about — they’ve done enough actual physical crimes as an “organization” to be credibly called domestic terrorists. I think some serious house cleaning for universities that won’t stop this riotous behavior (be it against free speech or for the intifada or whatnot) is also in order.

Or this will likely continue as “punching Nazis” is only logical when you’re taught that you’re physically in danger from their speech.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

Our speech is violence, their violence is speech. This has reconvinced me that the left is replete with murderous nutjobs.

      • Ted S.

As I said in one of the earlier posts, these are the same people who go on about microaggressions and their need for “safe spaces”.

  14. Donny Three-Fingers (KJ5GQR)

Watched the clearest video of the Charlie Kirk shooting that our son could find. Looks like a clean shot to the heart, deflected up from the plate, into the neck. Blood dump looks like carotid artery was severed.

This country is in a dark place. Keep your head on a swivel and your powder dry.

    • WTF

Clean shot to the heart from 200 yards from an elevated position on Charlie who back under a tent with a small target window, combined with the obvious planning and get-away doesn’t seem like just your average left wing nutter. Professional? Who knows. Organized? Seems more and more likely.

      • Donny Three-Fingers (KJ5GQR)

Decoy people to get arrested clearing the E&E route, and possibly the question asked to signal the shot.

      • Donny Three-Fingers (KJ5GQR)

Also, use composite/ceramic plates. Would have caught even 300WinMag. Coated steel plates can and do spall some nasty fragments.

      • Suthenboy

This. The more I hear and think about it this was a carefully planned public execution meant to send a message. This is not a lone wacko. Yeah, the two arrested and the question asker need to be looked at real hard.
Message: “Time for talking is over” ?
I dont see any other way to translate it.

      • Donny Three-Fingers (KJ5GQR)

Also, the people cheering this are fucking ghouls.

      • Donny Three-Fingers (KJ5GQR)

Suthen, he was pulling huge numbers of young men away from the brainwashing, using the Socratic method and polite, reasoned debate, in the heart of their “territory”. I agree this seems to be a message. I’m thinking this just sends more people to either extreme.

TMZ released a response in which they claim that staff was watching a car chase at that moment.

      https://x.com/TMZ/status/1965936131213550073?s=19

Nobody outside the hard left seems to find this the least bit credible.

      • cyto

That is where we are. News anchors openly weep when their candidate loses. “Entertainment” journalists cheer the death of a Christian leader. They do not see themselves as a 4th estate. They are warriors for their team, serving on the front lines.

      • SarumanTheWoefullyIgnorant

It only takes one side to start a war. They may have started it. If bad things start happening to their spokespeople and leaders, I won’t celebrate, but i won’t weep either.

      • cyto

The “it is war” idea is part of their plan. They have been pressing to re-create a racist and violent society for 2 decades now. They desperately want someone on the right to become the villain.

This explains Jan 6 and the still-repeated claim that many police were killed that day.

The easy-to-understand example is Hamas. They attack and kill a bunch of kids at a concert and murder families and children, taking a bunch of them hostages. This is intended to provoke a violent response. They then point to the response and claim the other side are monsters. Because their attack was 1 day and the response is ongoing, people actually see it that way.

The same strategy is at play here. Burn cities. Murder Christian children. Downplay the violence and hide the motives. But if any violence happens in response – magnify it and play it as white supremacy and fascist nationalists. (See Rittenhouse)

    • Trials and Trippelations

Wow. My first thought was yelling could be edited in or maybe there coincidental cheering, but the timing and that the TMZ moves his head in time with the cheers catching his attention. Oooof that is awful. Kirk wasn’t some despot

I was talking with my brother in Charlotte last night. He says the county is radical left now. All conservatives have left or are in hiding. He knows the judge and doesnt agree about the radical left assertions. There are things you have to do to survive in that environment. This is the important part. It isnt that everyone agrees with this stuff. They dont. But they are cowed into playing along. The radicals have enough of a voice that they get people fired – even though they are actually a fairly small minority. (Remember the stories about experienced leftist journalists getting run out of the NYT by recent graduates who are radical)

But the kids… the ones that are his kids age, in college now. The ones who follow behind the millenials. They have been radicalized by all of this pronoun stuff. They watch Charlie Kirk videos. They are much more hard core MAGA than the older folks.

    Good morning!

Local NPR reported sounded scared. Saying that they “do their best to not be divisive” (this is a lie) and that “On this September 11, remember how we all came together.”

National NPR tried (they brought a friend of Kirk’s on for a tribute) but Steve Inskeep just couldn’t avoid taking shots at Kirk “he was such a polarizing figure saying divisive things about people different than him but he was always willing to debate anybody. Do you think he learned from those people?”

    • WTF

“he was such a polarizing figure saying divisive things about people different than him

Just a watered down version of “Charlie had it coming”.

“Is it possible this nazi was partially redeemed, at the very end?”

    • Ted S.

You obviously didn’t learn anything, Mr. Inskeep.

    • UnCivilServant

Why would they be scared? They’re too unimportant and low profile to be personally targets of retaliation. Maybe they expect an accelleration of their political losses now?

        I honestly don’t know.

That guy hosts a daily show in which a panel comes up with the most guignol insults for republicans and republican voters (“The Roundtable”). Occasionally they will bring on a dissenter and spend part of the program reading angry letter from visitors about how the badthinker is a badperson.

The drumbeat of clips from MSNBC and NPR yesterday was staggering. People without talking points, flailing about to find the appropriately anti-MAGA angle during coverage of a political assassination.

I used to be a big NPR listener in the 90s, but I haven’t had it on in more than a decade. I hear that yesterday’s 1A was special. Apparently they are openly communist in their commentary.

The passion with which the public-facing left denounces opposing voices is shocking. Remember how they went after Limbaugh, spending hundreds of millions to create Media Matters and Air America to counter his voice. They celebrated his death too.

I dont think the vast majority of Americans see this for what it is. I have a friend who is hard-core conservative. He doesnt see the organized propaganda machine. He still thinks it is simply bias. He didnt have the interest to read Taibbi reporting on the huge machine behind the Twitter Files.

Because people dont want to see the man behind the curtain, Democrat rank and file are able to continue voting for the veneer that covers the socialist revolution that seeks to bring down western society…. even as people like Zohran Mamdani in NYC openly say they are trying to do exactly that.

I listen to it so I can know what the respectable opinions are.

Tagging onto the dead thread. My wife too is hit pretty hard by the Kirk assassination. Some of it is the fear of dark days ahead.
Some of it is apparently Kirk’s wife and kids were at the rally
Some of it is continuing to see formerly respected colleagues (she is a former pastor) again and again be heartless in their thoughts and words as it pertains to right wingers

My wife is hard-core anti Trump. But she had Fox on all day. Her biggest reaction has been to all the people she knows personally posting gloating reactions on social media. It has really hit her hard seeing how people are reacting to his death.
