Graybeard, immaculately dressed, Metallica anime opening music

Not a whole lot going on shy-wise. Monday is a day when secrets get exposed and Scorpios catch a break (speaking of Scorpions and graybeards, did you know they released an album three years ago?)

How could I not include this one here?

Libra: 10 of Coins reversed – Everything seems to be going great, but it’s a lie.

Scorpio: Queen of Cups reversed – Distinguished woman but one not to be trusted; perverse woman; vice, dishonor, depravity.

Sagittarius: Page of Coins – Application, study, scholarship, news, messages.

Capricorn: 7 of Swords – Design, attempt, wish, hope, confidence; also quarrelling, a plan that may fail, annoyance.

Aquarius: The Hermit – Prudence, circumspection, treason, dissimulation, roguery, corruption.

Pisces: 7 of Wands reversed – Perplexity, embarrassments, anxiety. It is also a caution against indecision.

Aries: The Chariot – Succor, providence also war, triumph, presumption, vengeance, trouble, majesty.

Taurus: 6 of Coins reversed – Desire, cupidity, envy, jealousy, illusion.

Gemini: Knight of Swords reversed –  Imprudence, incapacity, extravagance.

Cancer: Strength reversed – Despotism, abuse of power, weakness, discord, disgrace.

Leo: 3 of Coins reversed – Mediocrity, puerility, pettiness, weakness.

Virgo: King of Coins – Valor, intelligence, business aptitude, plans coming to fruition

Music these kids great-great grandparents liked:

Sagittarius: Page of Coins – Application, study, scholarship, news, messages.

    That sounds exhausting.

    • The Other Kevin

Great I have to read a book or something.

  2. The Late P Brooks

    Booogie wooogie doubleplusgood.

  3. Shpip

Pisces: 7 of Wands reversed – Perplexity, embarrassments, anxiety. It is also a caution against indecision.

I went to the grocery store yesterday, and the kid who was bagging asked me if I wanted paper or plastic — a question that I hadn’t heard in years.

In a moment of indecision, I told him “Whatever works best for you.”

That’s when he reminded me that baggers can’t be choosers.

  4. Tres Cool

Virgo: King of Coins – Valor, intelligence, business aptitude, plans coming to fruition

Why couldnt I have that last week as my project teetered on the edge of collapse for 4 days? I’m still not certain it was successful.

  5. Pope Jimbo

Design, attempt, wish, hope, confidence; also quarrelling, a plan that may fail, annoyance.

Pretty much sums up my experience watching the Viqueens today. Final annoyance that the Browns failed to make O’Connel pay for that stupid time out at the end of the game.

  6. juris imprudent

Design, attempt, wish, hope, confidence; also quarrelling, a plan that may fail, annoyance. Not too bad for Mrs. JI

Succor, providence also war, triumph, presumption, vengeance, trouble, majesty. L’etat est moi?

  7. Don escaped Memphis

Gemini: Knight of Swords reversed – Imprudence, incapacity, extravagance.

Libra: 10 of Coins reversed – Everything seems to be going great, but it’s a lie.

Oh wonderful. I was just pondering the other day how the car hasn’t broken down lately…

“ Cancer: Strength reversed – Despotism, abuse of power, weakness, discord, disgrace.”

Damn right! Gonna be a fun week.

  11. Gustave Lytton

Got up late this morning. Dog is still sleeping but coffee has been made. Enjoying the early birds in the AM link falling for the ragebait.

    • Akira

Our nutcase dogs never sleep remotely late. Every time they sleep in my room, they wake me up 45 to 60 minutes early so they can run around and greet everybody else in the house and then promptly fall asleep on the couch.

  12. DenverJ

I see my Broncos are well on their way to a Super bowl title 🙄

    • Rat on a train

Go Bolts. You can always blow it in the post season.

  13. Threedoor

    Plans coming to fruition.

I’m actually going to finish a project!?

  14. Evan from Evansville

Taurus: 6 of Coins reversed – Desire, cupidity, envy, jealousy, illusion.

Fucking dammit. This succinctly describes my existence every Fri-Mon at work. (Crush doesn’t work Thurs.) I suppose astrology has to be ‘right’ every once in a while to suck in Believers. I hereby replace my sign and am greeted with King of Coins – Valor, intelligence, business aptitude, plans coming to fruition. I was gonna add another one to balance it out, create some character-relevant depth, but the rest of these fucking suck, too.

So, speaking of my plans coming to fruition, Helen of Noblesville will come to me and unlock my hidden super powers, the ability *and the choice* to make anything I imagine become reality. Then we’ll make out and it’ll be great. So there.

  15. Mojeaux

I like the music, but I can’t stand lyrics in another language. Call me xenophobic or OCD-addled, but I just don’t.

    • Akira

I think I’m kind of the opposite… I would very roughly estimate that 50% of my music collection is instrumental with no lyrics at all, 25% is in English, and 25% is either in French (which I comprehend at a mediocre level) or other languages that I don’t speak at all.

It sometimes creates the weirdly annoying sensation where I get the impulse to sing along with it, but I can’t because I don’t speak the language.

      • Mojeaux

I’m okay with a few Spanish songs like this one, but I think it’s because Antonio Banderas’s voice is fabulous.

I took French in high school and Spanish in college. I would love to really LEARN Spanish because I think it’s now just a basic life skill you should have, like knowing how to swim and drive. However, I’m quite unmotivated.

However, if I knew the language, I probably wouldn’t mind.

      • UnCivilServant

The vast majority of my music collection is with lyrics in English. I think the second most common language is German. Instrumentals had better be absolutely fantastic, because I don’t have the tolerence for them I used to.

As a teen I listened to classical music. I don’t have that kind of patience any more. It’s too slow.

      • Akira

Spanish is a beautiful language. I’d love to learn it someday, especially because I might actually encounter someone who speaks Spanish. My Mom took Spanish in college as well and had a few sayings she would utilize (mostly “que grueso” when finding cat puke on the floor or something).

But I’d love to learn every damn language, and I’ve accepted that I’d better just focus on one at a time. Maybe I’ll take up another one when I reach a reasonable level of fluency in Frog-speak.

      • Gender Traitor

I like to listen to music while I read, but it has to be instrumental or in any language but English.

      • Gender Traitor

I like her, but I have a little trouble not getting her mixed up with Melody Gardot.

    • Pope Jimbo

Uffda. I can’t understand half the lyrics in US songs, so I wouldn’t listen to any music if that were a requirement.

  16. The Late P Brooks

I like the music, but I can’t stand lyrics in another language.

    What about opera?

    • Mojeaux

Well, a) I don’t like opera singing anyway, and b) no.

I will make an exception for Carmina Burana.

    • Akira

      There’s always Gilbert & Sullivan.

  17. R.J.

DEG is busy so I will say that Leo seems sufficiently shitty.
