Sunday Morning Deathwatch Links

by | Oct 12, 2025 | Daily Links | 170 comments

It’s Sunday, it’s football, it’s gonna be brutal for me. I’m starting to understand what it must be like to be a Browns fan.

I really do love football, though, grew up watching it and playing it, it was the civic religion of Baltimore in the ’50s and ’60s. It’s more than just a game. But of course, this was the definitive description. So I’ll watch the games today today with the idea of appreciating fine athleticism and chess-like strategizing, not for a rooting interest. I keep telling myself that. Eventually I’ll believe it.

Some days, birthdays are rich and plentiful. Some days… not so much. Today is one of those days, but still, there’s a guy whose compilations tortured generations of chemistry students; a skilled magician and cult leader; an obscure chemist famous in Moscow; an intermittently funny comic whose material seem very dated; a guy who single-handedly kept the black hair dye industry afloat; one more reason the legacy news media is exactly that; another hero of the Left; and another celebrity brain trust.

And speaking of trust, I trust you will actually look at the Links.

Let the games begin. I’m surprised, oh so surprised, that Hamas is already reneging. Late breaking news: they’ve made new last minute demands.

Note that the Progs here and in Europe are deafeningly silent. “Wait, how do we attack Jews now?” I have confidence they’ll find any excuse they can.

One advantage of dating at my age is that the women don’t really know how to do this.

I remember when they did this during King Obama’s reign. Oh, wait…

She found Mr. Goodbar.

There are people with very sick senses of humor. I approve. This one is my favorite.

“Was that wrong? Was I not supposed to do that?” Prison justice.

Short buses hardest hit.

Scientists announce that the comet is being renamed “R Kelly.”

This seems to be of some concern. But it’s fascinating that the Progs are somehow not rallying around an actual “strong black woman.”

The Old Guy thought, “It’s been too long since I put up some ’70s Prog rock.” And this is the best band that somehow hasn’t been remembered.

I don’t think that this is somehow in any way antisemitic or anti-Israel. It’s a rejection of … the Israeli government.

So you are saying black women are retarded?

      • Nephilium

No, just that none of them commit fraud.

When they do, it’s just a misunderstanding.

It’s actually good that they commit fraud.

Hamas ready to hand over 20 living hostages ahead of Trump’s arrival, WSJ reports
This contradicts Hamas’s comments from earlier on Sunday that they would reportedly release all remaining hostages, living and deceased, by dawn on Monday, October 13.

“Ahmed, we can’t just throw some animal entrails in a box like we do for our propaganda photos, the Israelis aren’t as retarded as the AP. I told you not to burn those bodies!”

    • Chafed

I remain hopeful the hostages will be turned over and skeptical that it will happen.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The coalition of New York NAACP chapters had just begun its annual state convention when Letitia James, a longtime member and the state’s attorney general, canceled her appearance.

James had just been indicted by the Justice Department for alleged mortgage fraud, a charge which she called “baseless” and “a grave violation of our constitutional order.”

For the New York convention’s organizers, the moment was alarming and underscored the gathering’s importance, which featured multiple sessions on building political power at the state level in response to what NAACP leaders called federal attacks on social welfare, civil rights and the rule of law.

“The crooked prosecutor we ran on a platform of constructing criminal charges against Trump in order to terminate his presidential candidacy after 2 assassination attempts didn’t work out is being unfairly targeted for blatantly lying on mortgage documents after fabricating a case of mortgage fraud based on the assumption that tax assessments and market values of properties are identical and banks don’t perform due diligence before issuing loans. This travesty of justice and civil rights cannot stand!”

“The new law, known as AB 2777, was part of a wave of legislation across the country recognizing that many survivors of sexual assault take years or even decades to step forward due to lasting trauma, social stigma, or fear of retribution…..

Taylor says she’s hopeful she’ll get that chance with a version of the legislation that her lawyers cited last year. The bill, AB 250, is now sitting on Gov. Gavin Newsom’s desk, awaiting a decision by Monday. If made into law, AB 250 would give Taylor and other plaintiffs like her, including Bill Cosby accuser Victoria Valentino, a fully retroactive filing window for any claim of adult sexual abuse against an individual perpetrator, no matter how old, for a new two-year period ending Dec. 31, 2027. In what legal experts are calling a potentially seismic shift for plaintiffs like Taylor, the law would allow suits against alleged individual perpetrators without the need to prove a cover-up. (Claims against businesses would still require evidence of a cover-up.)”

“For the past three months, 28-year-old social worker Holly from Kent has been navigating a “situationship” with a co-worker. Though they knew each other from the office, they initially started speaking via LinkedIn. Now, they see each other sporadically – “I wouldn’t call them dates,” Holly deadpans – but speak often via WhatsApp. “I mainly use AI because I tend to write really long messages,” she says, “so I’ll put them into ChatGPT and say, ‘Please make this softer and more clear’, or, ‘I need to sound harsher here so he understands I’m upset.’” She doesn’t feel that it’s misleading – “I’m not trying to manipulate anyone,” she says.”

Miller stands accused of concocting an unfounded tale of child abduction that saw Patel, a 57-year-old father of two, falsely branded a pedophile and fear for his life in jail, while a district attorney’s blunders made his ordeal drag on…

Surveillance camera footage appears to show Patel’s attempt to stop Miller’s son Jude from falling to the floor. But days later, Miller appeared on TV to claim that Patel had only asked for help finding the Tylenol to distract her so he could try and abduct her 2-year-old son Jude…..

Despite the seemingly contradictory tape, however, Cobb County District Attorney Sonya Allen refused to free Patel…

“Democrat Attorney General over the state of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, claimed that “nobody knows” what Antifa is when he was on MSNBC for a media hit. He posted himself holding the book, “Antifa, The Anti-Fascist Handbook,” in 2018….

While he appeared on MSNBC, Ellison was discussing Antifa when he said, “If there really is no Antifa as an institution organization, then anybody who’s associated with Antifa-like ideas, you know, can be persecuted. All you have to do is say, ‘Prove you’re not Antifa.’ Well, how can you prove a negative, and suddenly they’re just going to be able to use that to justify suppressing speech, arresting people, deploying ICE, deploying the National Guard, deploying the military.

“So the fact is that nobody even knows what it is. The first person I ever heard use the word Antifa was Donald J Trump when he was going on about how there were good people on both sides of Charlottesville, that’s the first time I ever heard anyone use the term. So now it’s amorphous thing. And if nobody’s really Antifa, then everybody could be.”

To end your comment with CWAA all you had to do was type ‘Keith Ellison’.

The power struggle in the Weimar Republic was principally between the communists and the fascists. Antifa was the militant arm of the communist party in Germany. They were then the same kinds of cockroaches we have now. Subvert, destroy, riots, crime, violence etc.
Is Trump really going to go after its funders? That is the only way to stop this bullshit. And the no kings thing, completely fabricated and paid for by Soros, Singh, Gates and co.

“A shooting at a bar in South Carolina resulted in 4 people killed and 20 more injured, the local sheriff said on Sunday.

The shooting happened at Willie’s Bar and Grill on St. Helena Island.

“Multiple victims and witnesses ran to the nearby businesses and properties seeking shelter from the gun shots,” the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on the social media website X.”

    Wanton slaughter

But the bloodshed at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was especially acute, according to a list crowdsourced by CDC employees who received layoff notices that was viewed by MSNBC. The firings ran across more than a dozen CDC divisions and centers, wiping out entire offices and teams that investigate disease outbreaks, manage infectious disease responses, collect data, publish scientific reports and communicate with global partners and Congress.

“CDC is over. It was killed,” said Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, the former director of the CDC’s National Center on Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, who recently resigned to protest what he described as Kennedy’s unscientific takeover of the CDC. “This administration only knows how to break things. They have made America at risk for outbreaks and attacks by nefarious players. People should be scared.”

      • Suthenboy

This. I like that they used the word ‘bloodshed’. It tells me right out of the gate they are sensationalists crying about losing phoney jobs and cuts to the budget. For most agencies their actual stated mission has very little to do with how they spend their time. Their primary activity is increasing their budget.

      There is a global right?

There is not a single sentence in that article that makes any sense whatsoever.

The chilling thing about Osterholm is that he’s not in a padded cell wearing a straitjacket.

Beyond members of the general public frustrated at the current administration, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) urged federal employee members to participate in the protests as well.

“The protest movement has taken on new urgency with the government shutdown that began Oct. 1,” AFGE stated on Oct. 6. “Shutting down the government is another authoritarian power grab by this administration, which has threatened to lay off mass numbers of furloughed federal workers as part of an ongoing quest to gut federal programs and services the administration finds objectionable.”

    Grassroots to th bone, baby.

MSNBC spoke with eight current and former CDC officials, most of whom requested anonymity for fear of retaliation against themselves or their remaining colleagues.

If by retaliation you mean being called out on their bullshit.
