Teenage Exorcist (1991)
It seemed appropriate to kick off a month-long celebration of Halloween with a film from Fred Olen Ray This is a parody of The Exorcist films, so prepare yourself for cable-levels* of nudity, bad jokes, and general silliness. Is it even worth posting a film summary? No. It really isn’t. This film is USA Up All Night quality and does not require any deep thought.
We have a couple of famous actors in this:
- Brinke Stevens: We have seen her in Repligator and Sorority Babes in the Slime-Bowl-O-Rama, also she was one of many girlfriends in Spinal Tap. She has been in a stunning 230+ movies as an actress.
- Eddie Deezen: Known to the young ones as the voice of a million different cartoon characters, all of which sound like Eddie Deezen. He was in 1941, Grease, and the Polar Express among many other films. His voice is instantly recognizable and he is somewhat of an underground celebrity. In this film, his character’s name is… “Eddie.” Things have not gone well for him since the lockdown. I hope he gets the help he needs.
- Michael Berryman: He is instantly recognizable by his looks, just like Deezen is for his voice. He is only in this film for a moment but clearly the the producers wished to capitalize on this and put him on the cover box shot. Some of his better known work includes The Hills Have Eyes, The Devil’s Rejects, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
There is not a whole lot more to say about this movie other than get some popcorn, your favorite beverage and enjoy.

So watch! Or don’t! Everything is voluntary! Next week, it just would not be Halloween without a giant monster film! Godzilla vs. Destroyah, another film from 1990’s will be our film! This is one of the seldom – seen Godzilla films from the end of the rubber suit era. Remember, there are no rules on Thursday nights! If you hate tonight’s film, talk about your garden or something. No one will object.
*For the young Glibs: TV signals were once received through a cable and translated by a proprietary box into channels. All of this was controlled through what was known as “cable monopolies,” which were supported by crooked commie government officials. It was very anti-libertarian. After more than 30 years of this, technology dealt an unexpected blow to the cable industry. Companies like Pluto sprouted up and started offering a cable-like experience over the internet with free streaming channels and view-on-demand movies. Just like that, the cable monopoly was broken before crooked congressmen could do anything to stop it. The power of the free market cannot be constrained for long.

“She has been in a stunning 230+ movies as an actress.”
wow
She was in consideration to play Vampirella. I don’t know if she got it.
No. She didn’t.

And yet the UX for cable remains vastly superior. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Oh, and it doesn’t squelch my bandwidth.
I don’t notice any bandwidth issues when I’m streaming video and reading websites (or downloading stuff).
Verizon keeps bumping up my bandwidth as they retire old plans. The ISP is still the network bottleneck.
I’m leery to stream shit when I WFH – sometimes I like the background noise… I have had connection issues in the past but not recently to be honest.
*checks credits*
We have different flavors of grips, a best boy, but no gaffer. The producers must have spent all their gaffing munny on Michael Berryman.
Where’s my adult beverage? *Judo chops play button*
+1 amusing subtitles.
Music by Chuck Cirino. He did work on Deathstalker II and return of the Swamp Thing. His name tickled my memory and I had to look him up.
As usual I have to scroll past a long list of stuff I’ve never seen to arrive at something I instantly recognize, WarGames in this case.
I always thought that guy was, uh, differently abled – but there is no mention of that on his wikipedia page. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Something was up with him. And he finally snapped.
lol I just recalled that he looks and speaks exactly like one of the bellmen at a Holiday Inn I worked at a thousand years ago. That guy was something else. I remember he was pushing Amway for awhile. 🙄 My boss Judy had to calm him down all the time he would get so wound up.
This film is USA Up All Night quality
How does that compare to Movie Macabre and MonsterVision?
USA Up All Night specialized in titillating comedies. Slightly different genre. This is a crossover that could have been on Movie Macabre.
Picture and audio seem out of sync. Unless this was dubbed from a foreign language?
It is a bit off.
But then so are we.
Wouldn’t you taste if lettuce were covered in blood?
Would you taste blood if it were covered in lettuce?
I think so.
Jeff is a simp and very annoying.
Just you wait. Eddie hasn’t shown up yet.
So Brinke wrote this with Fred Olen Wray. The part Eddie Deezen was cast in was supposed to be a cute girl. Script had to be rewritten. Was Eddie an upgrade over a cute girl?
Does cute girl show bobs?
lol
Pretty sure bob is in Oklahoma.
There is a shower scene coming up at some point.
Not if cute girl was Linnea Quigley.
They just figured this out?

No idea who that person or that book is but…
…I see that shit *all the time* on Amazon when looking at certain topics of interest and it pisses me off. No-name publisher, no-name authors, usually priced suspiciously low. I won’t touch it.
Immediate thoughts, other than my thanks to your continued, and appreciated, efforts:
“Sorority Babes in the Slime-Bowl-O-Rama” – Must we regain *all* of my tales From The Bunk? It’s highly occupied. The weight of my nightingales is several pillow-cases full of feathers in weight. You’d drown in her.
I’ve never seen Grease, but I think my ignorance of 1941 is a deeper sin. Perhaps my biggest, cuz I love all the folk in it, is Caddyshack. I was perhaps born far too late, but it just ain’t good. (Perhaps needs a rewatch?_ The clouds reverberate my frustration as I project upon them.
1941 may never come up free streaming. If it does I will post it.
Never seen either FWIW. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I saw 1941 once as a kid. It sucked. I tried rewatching it several years ago, just couldn’t get into it. On paper, it should have been great. I loved Caddyshack. Caddyshack II sucked, but was still better than 1941.
Oof
1941 was a terrible movie. It bombed as I recall.
Speaking of films, l neither knew anything about this film or its subject. Weird and interesting on many fronts including the Coppola involvement.
Paul Schrader’s ‘Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters’ to Finally Screen in Japan After 40-Year De Facto Ban Paul Schrader’s ‘Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters’ to Finally Screen in Japan After 40-Year De Facto Ban
A double feature! 😃🎦🎦
It’s a good biographical film. Beautiful cinematography. Soundtrack by Philip Glass, much of it outstanding.
It inspired me to read some of Mishima’s work. The translator seems to have done a superlative job. The works vary, but are often enough outstanding. Temple of the Golden Pavilion and Confessions of a Mask are 2 of my favorites. Golden Pavilion is one section of the film.
I’ve not yet seen any of the movies Mishima acted in. There are hints that some might be good choices for Thursday Night Movie Mania 😉
Things have not gone well for him since the lockdown.

@Mo from the deadthread – In Re reading your own work and then modulating.
I gave that a try with “Ink and Infatuation”. I even had a different pitch for each character’s dialog. It was slow going, especially editing out the ‘puh’s and inhalations. Get a pop guard for the microphone to save some of that and set up something to deaden background noise. In a pinch, a conforter free hanging from a bar will soak noise well enough. But it will be warm in whatever spot you work.
I never finished the recording because I lost the notepad where I recorded what each character’s adjustment was.
editing out the breaths is the most common task I do in audio editing, both professionally and for The Hat and The Hair. The client I’ve edited a TV show for over a decade is terrble. I’m so used to the waveform of her breathing that I can edit it out without even listening to the audio.
Dr. Roberts caught a gun charge. I’m looking forward to the excuses for his conduct.

Meh, I get the being here illegally and faking degrees, but the bill of rights is about innate human rights. The right to self defense isn’t just our 2nd amendment, it is a universally held right that should not be restrained unless one is shown to have violent tendencies.
How many Dems will visit him when he’s gone?
lol Now the left gets to be pro-gun.
So the NFA will be repealed, and constitutional carry will be the law of the land?
Well, he was trained to protect the Queen of England, so he’s obviously entitled to carry guns, like former military and police officers.
Off on my commute for a hopefully chill day at the office. Crush’ll be there, so massive incentive to be Bright-Eyed, once again.
Your Chicago Cubs took the Padres in a three-game set and we move on to face Milwaukee. Both PCA and Busch had three-hit days for Chicago, always great to see rookies get their first taste of actual success.
Gav set his best yesterday, clocking his 1.8 run at 11:51, beating his best from only two weeks ago by 50 seconds. Kid’s got run in ‘im. I played chase with the 5yo to our mutual amusement. So odd being here for this one as he grows. He’s remarkably comfortable and openly affectionate w me. “Ezzie K’nezzie’ I nickname him.
Be well and warm, y’all. Big adventures, yet to come.
I know it’s a big day for all you Swifties. 🤣😉

Did she die or something?
Morning? It’s nearly time to go to the pubs!
…and good afternoon, Mr. Ilium!
Gotta get that Breakfast Stout?
UCS:
No, but as we were walking earlier today we stopped at a coffee shop. I asked if they had cold brew, and got the answer “No, but if you let me know what it is, I’ll make an attempt.”
Yeah… that’s not a feasible option. I’ll have something else instead. Several of the people apparently were very shocked to learn that lemonade in the UK is not lemon juice, sugar, and water on the boat cruise last night.
So what was in it that surprised you?
UCS:
I skipped the boat tour to avoid the public and get some sleep. But in the UK, lemonade will be closer to Sprite or 7-Up.
If you were referring to the cold brew, that requires a long (as in hours) steep time for the extraction.
I’m convinced I had a clever quip. But I don’t recall what it was,

Portland is a commie shithole. News at 11.
Engage in legal activity>get assaulted>defend yourself>get arrested…welcome to Lobotomized Clown World. The local Portland authorities are absolute shitbags.
Sounds like (and certainly the same mind set) zero tolerance elementary school.
Only worse since they’re enabling the bullies here.
Interesting that antifa is finally facing some opposition.
A corner has been turned, but there’s a lot of ground to reclaim.

Urgh…
🤧
Good morning, U, Stinky, Sean, Ted’S., and EfE!
U, I don’t think I need to ask how you’re doing. 😟
At the moment I am only able to breathe through my mouth. I’m debating between trying to tough it out working remote or calling in and going back to bed
Ugh. I try to vocalize a snarky comment and it comes out as a weird croak.
🐸
Good morning! Been cleaning. I woke up 5 minutes before the alarm went off. I am debating taking the day off.
Mornin’ all!
Neph, I highly recommend a half day (at least) at the British Museum. The Rosetta Stone, the Elgin Marbles, and so much more.
We’ve got a pep rally Saturday, and the game on Sunday. Today I’m going to try to get some local culture, but Monday is wide open.
Get out of London.
You should check out Sandford. I hear it’s won the #1 village in England contest multiple times.
British Museum is great.
We paid a guide that was worth it, IMO.
I was looking forward to
https://www.walks.com/our-walks/jewish-london/
but sadly ended up sick in bed for a couple of days. They have a bunch of cool walks available.
Not only is the British Museum great, it’s so different in concept to museums like the Smithsonian, the Field, Frick, Glicrease, etc. that it’s worth going to just for that.
Good morning!
Morning.
As soon as I manage to get something for breakfast, I’m going back to sleep
There are two more KF&G matches that I will be able to attend. The 11th and the one in November. That latter one will be a zero-movement format.
I may have just learned how old Crush is. Huh. Well, she’s an adult. I was correct about that. And her college-age status. So how bout that?
Good to know you weren’t crushing on jailbait.
She’s only half my age-1. In the parabola of age adequacy, it plays if ya forget to carry one or two of the numbers.
She’s model-hot, but far more important, she’s playful, legitimately fun to be ’round. Only window dressing and I’m obviously not actually doing anything.
I am going to an improv show/ workshop tonight and tomorrow. Wish I had solidified a Tight Five over been meaning to hone. Solid work apps got in the way, and I’m glad I got those out.
Back to work. Lunch and a Cobb salad at 10.
She’s your #1 Crush?
Holy shit, that song is thirty years old?
At least she apparently isn’t a Stupid Girl.
I didn’t know you’re into crush videos.
She’s not, but she’s only happy when it rains.
On a serious note on Break #1, work was altered because of Taylor Swift. Apparently, an album dipped at 5am, requiring our drivers to arrive early in preparation.
She’s a fantastic business woman and I’m happy she owns all her work, now. I will say, I like two of her songs. Shake It Off is a legit pop masterpiece with a solid and well-written message for da yutes, esp girls. Blank Space is also fun, w her poking at her image of swift(!) breakups. Odd that I think the video legit adds to the song. She’s very much interested in me.
Seriously? I thought everything was streaming or digital downloads these days. Stunned that it would impact a retail location in the slightest.
Evan sells Taylor Swift RealDolls.
Wife’s recovery continues. She is over shingles, and the calcification in her shoulder tendons is beginning to subside. This has been going on since beginning of August.
