IFLA: The “Getting Back to Normal” Edition of the Horoscope for the Week of November 30

by | Nov 30, 2025 | I Am Lame, IFLA | 44 comments

I hope that everyone’s holiday plans and precautions kept MERCURY RETROGRADE under control, and that you all survived the apocalypse of a couple days ago. Today we see the response to that as Saturn returns to direct motion, which… well Saturn is complicated. It’s the only one of the OG planets named after a Titan which puts it as the progenitor and (attempted) destroyer of the others… but in the end, it’s typically bad, but returning to direct motion is typically a good thing but in this case it also removes the “beginning” aspect of the sign so no phoenix rising from last week’s ashes here. Basically, it reads more like whatever nonsense began last Thursday/Friday comes to a final end today. Then later MERCURY RETROGRADE goes away for another orbital period so starting Tuesday things get a lot more predictable. By you oracularly-challenged types I mean. Things are always predictable for some of us.

Let’s ease into Christmas music a bit.

Sagittarius: The Sun – Growth, happiness, contentment. Basically like Strength in goodness, but less about your own actions and more about the environment/circumstances.

Capricorn: The Emperor reversed – Benevolence, compassion, credit, confusion to enemies, obstruction, immaturity.

Aquarius: The Hermit reversed – Concealment, disguise, policy, fear, unreasoned caution.

Pisces: 4 of Wands [Sorry, fish ppl, our feckless prognosticator failed to provide an interpretation for this card. -Editor]

Aries: Queen of Cups – All the traits of the stereotypical “perfect woman.” But in the character aspects and traits, not in the Q definition.

Taurus: 3 of Coins reversed – Mediocrity, puerility, pettiness, weakness.

Gemini: 8 of Coins –  Work, employment, commission, craftsmanship, skill.

Cancer: 6 of Cups reversed – An old friend has changed.

Leo: 7 of Coins reversed –  Cause for anxiety regarding money, particularly investments or lent money.

Virgo: King of Cups – Fair man, man of business, law, or divinity, responsible.

Libra: The Fool reversed – Negligence, absence, distribution, carelessness, apathy, nullity, vanity.

Scorpio: 3 of Swords – Grief heartbreak, despair, depression, not feeling quite happy.

“Leo: 7 of Coins reversed – Cause for anxiety regarding money, particularly investments or lent money.”

    Thankfully not applicable.

      Because this is Advent?

      • DrOtto

You know you’re Catholic when you have trouble reading that word any other way.

Well, my debit card stopped working. It was suspended for a few weeks due to a scam attempt, but I turned it back on. Now it’s off again. And I need cash to pay the painters at the new house. Ah, well, should just be a phone call to straighten it out.

Sounds like you’re trying to lull me into a false sense of security before you spring the trap.

    • The Other Kevin

Good things are going to happen to us while we sit on our asses. I’ll take it.

  3. juris imprudent

That works, Q’s criteria isn’t mine.

  4. The Other Kevin

So no future outlook for Pisces? It was nice knowing you all.

Relatedly, I got an empty fortune cookie a few days ago. Also a bad omen.

    • R.J.

Don’t think of it as bad. It is a blank slate, onto which you may write your own fate.

      • R C Dean

“No fate but what we make”

*nuclear apocalypse, with a crunchy coating of homicidal robots, ensues*

…whatever nonsense began last Thursday/Friday comes to a final end today.

So the car my sister wrecked Thursday morning will either be miraculously repaired or replaced with minimal financial outlay? 😃🤞

    It’s mutiny, I tells ya

Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., said Sunday that President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth are “not serious people” in response to their comments about a video Kelly and several fellow Democrats made earlier this month urging military and intelligence personnel to “refuse illegal orders.”

    ——-

On Sunday, the Arizona senator referenced his own service in the Navy, where he said he sank ships.

“Never once did I question whether those orders were legal or illegal. People can tell the difference — should be able to tell the difference between something that is unlawful and something that is lawful,” he said. “And if I was ever given an unlawful order, I would refuse.”

He knows one when he sees one.

The best response to that illegal orders preening would have been to dismiss it as the vapid substanceless kabuki fandango it is.

    • Akira

So Dems would be fine with some senator telling ATF agents to not enforce infringements on the right to bear arms, right?

      • rhywun

        Shut up!

  9. The Late P Brooks

“We’re going to put these folks under oath, and we’re going to find out what happened. And then there needs to be accountability,” Kelly said

    Stop it. You’re killing me.

    • R C Dean

I’m all for putting people under oath in l’affaire Kelly.

Honestly, though, having a spook as one of the spokespeople was not helpful to their optics. When you’re ticking the boxes for a color revolution, best to keep the CIA in the background.

      • juris imprudent

Gods I liked it better when the left hated the military, the CIA and Big Pharma.

    The horrifying future

The ease of making violent or disturbing content using Sora 2 should accelerate this trend, the Ekō researchers wrote, because of the often viral nature of AI-generated videos.

For the report, Ekō researchers started four brand new Sora 2 accounts that were explicitly registered to 13- and 14-year-old teens, both boys and girls. Using them, the researchers were easily able to generate 22 videos of harmful content using simple prompts.

    ——-

“Appalling,” one user wrote on X about OpenAI. “OpenAI doesn’t seem to test their products before releasing. They use real users for product testing, causing all sorts of social & mental issues, and conveniently call it ‘experiments.’ I’m wondering if involuntary human experiments are even legal…”

Did you know you could set up a fake account and do stuff in direct violation of the terms of use? It’s shameful.

Also- Are involuntary human experiments even legal? Good question. Let’s ask Foochy and his pals.

    Innsmouth residents most affected.

So, only NA and myself showed up for the shoot. He had already decided not to shoot, and I didn’t feel it would be appropriate to be the sole shooter and drag all the steel out and put it all back for my benefit, so we opted to head back.

I did show the Smith and Wesson 686 I took possession of yesterday. The shiny factory finish had been knocked down a bit from my test firings. This seems like a downside of the design. The finish is just going to get sootier and sootier since there is that cylinder gap between the chamber and barrel. The space where the serial number is hidden away is already almost black.

    • Timeloose

I’m purchasing a colt python matte black combat elite for Christmas.

I’ll have to see how the finish holds up.

      • UnCivilServant

🤔 Give us an update when you run some rounds through it.

      • Timeloose

Will do. Saw it at the store next to 6” and 4” versions of the matte black Python. My buddy got the 6”. So I can shoot it as well.

      • UnCivilServant

Polish 686? What’s an Eastern European knockoff got to do with anything?

    • R.J.

I have a 686. Good scrubbing after use is important. Revolvers are super messy like goldfish in a bowl. Lots of fun though.

Taurus: 3 of Coins reversed – Mediocrity, puerility, pettiness, weakness.

Damn. That’s cold. I don’t wanna be in Wobegon unless I’m Emperor-King, and even then, ruling over boring subjects would kinda be boring. I’d have to parse the boring-comfort matrix. Happily, or contently, being a Wobegonner would be rather frightening, but they’re too boring to realize something’s amiss. I suppose this describes most folk in the US and the West.

On that note: Truman Show is a spectacular film.
Oracular Spectacular is a *really* good album.

    • R C Dean

“Boring” is often how “comfortable, pulled-together, functional, etc.” is perceived by those who haven’t experienced such things. I put a lot of effort into being boring. It’s not easy.

      • Evan from Evansville

Earning comfort and stability is a profound accomplishment.

Boring in the Lake Wobegon way. Comfort in the ‘good times — weak men’ style. Lazy in thought, uncurious.

      • Ted S.

Oh, you’re quite good at being a bore. :-p

  14. Grummun

Grief heartbreak, despair, depression, not feeling quite happy.

Well, fuck you too, 3 of Swords.
