One week until Christmas, and the football coach at Ohio University just got a lump of coal in his stocking. I wonder what happened there. I got nothing else at all for sports, so time to move on.
Forget about Venezuela, the real drumbeat for war is coming from European leaders. And all of it is being done for a corruptocracy that’s damn near as bad as the people they want to go to war with. Anything to take the public eye off the horde of Islamists they’ve willingly imported, I guess.
This will make a lot of people scratch their heads. Especially those on the left who won’t know how to call it a bad thing even though they’ve been clamoring for this for years and years.
This guy might need a history book. Or perhaps just keep his mouth shut from time to time so he doesn’t sound so fucking retarded.
The writers of this piece could use a history book as well. For the love of God, please.
Can somebody please get SAF on the phone to help this guy? His prosecution is a ridiculous, unconstitutional pile of shit.
What a bummer. He said he’d leave if the agency couldn’t be reformed. I guess he found out that it can’t.
I give it about 5 minutes before this gets abused. And that’s probably being generous.
Oh, so now you notice? I swear, the number of assholes who need a history book is growing in these links.
California government thinks there’s nothing they can’t solve. So long as you ignore homelessness, high housing prices, the cost of literally everything, illiteracy, wildfire mitigation, and a whole host of other things that have gotten bad because of their actions or inaction.
And in lighter news, can’t say I blame them. That woman is C-R-A-Z-Y.
Haven’t played these guys in a while. So here they are. This one is especially timely. Enjoy them both.
And enjoy this lovely Thursday, dear friends.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Thursday promised a crackdown on hate speech in the wake of an attack on a Jewish holiday event at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, as the youngest of 15 victims was laid to rest.
Yellow toy bees topped the coffin of 10-year-old Matilda, who was remembered as a ‘ray of sunshine’ who loved animals and dancing.
Waltzing her to the great hereafter whilst marching in some new oppression.

“Just got fired from being a freshman football coach, if you want to know what MAGA does to communities,” Kluwe wrote on BlueSky later in February.
MAGA removes unhinged lunatics from positions of influence over impressionable youth?
I’m no MAGA dude, but I can’t see them, or even the normies, losing any sleep over that.
That dude needs some mental health care. He’s gone around the bend.
candidate for California state assembly
Oh hell, it makes perfect sense now.
inorite?
Mentally ill or Democrat – maybe both!
There are normies on BlueSky?
But enough about Australia’s reaction to the recent massacre there.
Bongino promised to release some secret stash of Comey files back in May. What is it with the fucking clown show on promising disclosures and then backing off of them?
“He said he’d leave if the agency couldn’t be reformed. I guess he found out that it can’t.”
I think the answer lies within there, somewhere. Either the deep state actors within the agency are somehow embargoing this information, or they played Bongino et als by telling them such things existed.
I have no doubt the spookier agencies are infected from top to bottom by the Deep State.
There is no way they let some twerps like him or Kash – bless their souls – change anything.
‘Infiltrated’ is the wrong word. Those agencies are the deep state.
I would equally believe that they found a box and before figuring out what was in it, they make a big noise. Then they dig through it and find there’s no revelations or damnations in it and since most people have forgotten, so do they.
+1 Al Capone’s vault
Of course by can’t, it means you don’t have the balls to just start firing everyone at the top day one and keep firing and revoking clearances until most of the roaches are gone.
Too easy. He doesn’t have the authority because Biden and Obama said they didn’t, it’s more lawless tyranny, and he’s trying to distract from the Epstein files.
::polite applause::
First they came for the child trannies. And I did not speak out. Because I was not a child. Or a tranny.
That baby you won’t let transition could be the next first female baby Jesus for all you know! It’s God’s plan!
I probably should have said “Because there are no child trannies. Or trannies”
That baby you won’t let transition could be the next first female baby Jesus for all you know! It’s God’s plan!
When did you start doing press releases for the United Church of Christ?
A flag linked with far-right groups that was used by January 6 rioters has been flown at another government agency in Washington, D.C., according to a report.
You know… far-right groups led by the likes of George Washington.
WHITE MAN SLAVE-HOLDER!!!
You snark but yeah, they hate him and everything the “founding fathers” stood for.
There’s an excellent (or vexillent) list of dozens of Revolutionary War era flags here.
I have a flagpole attached to a tree in my front yard, and for some reason I now need this.
That’s an unfunny pun even by your standards. :-p
We have that flag and fly it occasionally below our US flag (when it’s not football season and we fly the scarlet and gray to piss our stupid neighbors off with all their Aggie and Longhorn crap).
The Texas flag flies on the other flagpole.
Sounds like you’re the one getting triggered by the flags of Texas schools in Texas.
Meanwhile Michigan fans show their support for the coach by flying their freak flag.
Why would I be triggered by people who do little routines led by guys dressed up as the ice cream man or the team we’ve beaten twice this calendar year?
Look – Moore may have cheated on his wife with his secretary and he may have jerked off to an Onlyfans model who had either a penis or an enlarged clit, but he is a Michigan man. He only has sexual relations in standard missionary style with women who aren’t his wife.
Why wouldn’t you? Look how you freak out every time the sports reporters talk about Alabama.
Alas
I have the Whiskey Rebellion flag in my garage with a Gadsden flag, a 3% American flag, and a Marine Corps flag.
I also have this shirt:
https://gadsdenandculpeper.com/products/copy-of-pc-happy-face-black-t-shirt
I can’t remember the last time I even thought about the Gumps, let alone commented on why reporters were saying about them.
My hometown has an excellent, historical flag.
I really should put up a flag holder; but as previously mentioned, I’d give it an 80% chance one of enlightened betters here in deep-blue Mass would assume it’s some MAGA flag and deface or steal it.
The Massholes would see the color and do the Invasion of the Body Snatchers screech and point.
The “trans community” is not a thing today, let alone a hundred years ago.
Running Mein Kampf through Freudian analysis?
His struggle session?
The real issue is that Hitler was prevented from finishing his transition.
Have you seen the documentary “Paragraph 175?” I can’t remember if it deals with the trans but it does explore Ernst Rohm and the NAZIs’ abrupt about-face on LGB after Rohm’s execution.
The National Socialists did shut down sex change clinics. One reason they were quite popular.
Not liking Nazis doesn’t make their opposition good guys.
“The National Socialists did shut down sex change clinics.”
I severely doubt sex change clinics existed back then.
https://magnus-hirschfeld.de/ausstellungen/institute/
A “sex clinic” sounds on point for the proggie Weimar period. If it wasn’t the Nazis, it probably would have been shut down by any following “middle of the road” government.
I’m aware of Magnus Hirschfeld. That’s one guy, who opened one institute, that wasn’t a sex change clinic.
Gender clinics weren’t a thing thirty years ago, nevermind ninety years ago.
It performed the first sex change operation. You are arguing that because this institute was the first such clinic at the time that such clinics were not a thing. That is silly.
How the fuck is that silly? It wasn’t even the first first such clinic at the time, because it wasn’t a “sex change clinic”. If gender clinics were a thing then, then list examples.
Guys?!
That’s Mams!
The first time I read that story way back in 2004 or so it was different.
In the article I read Hirschfeld was all for the Nazi party and they only shut him down after one of his patients died after an attempt to graft in a uterus.
Bit times have changed and that take got disappeared.
We are discussing the example. That institute performed the first sex change procedure. That makes it a sex change clinic in my book. The first one in fact. Were airplanes not a thing at Kitty Hawk on December 17, 1903 because there was only one? I guess sort of, because there were not plural yet, but I’d say that when a thing is pioneered is when it starts being a thing, not once it is copied.
Well, we are talking about the same sort of people who argue that flying the English flag in England is racist so I don’t think the history book will really help any.
They have a limited arsenal of debate tools. Accusing the opponent of ____ism or ____phobia, or wanting Grandma to die is about it. I am now AWFLphobic to a point where no such accusations affect me.
I strong suspect a law in search of a problem there.
I find it unbelievable that landlords are renting apartments without a refrigerator or stove. I have never heard of such a thing.
I was about to say I’ve never seen an apartment that didn’t have those appliances.
I can’t rule out the possibility, I’ve just never seen it.
I’ve heard of it, but to me it’s another nail in the coffin of flophouses and boarding houses, which seem to be the solution that no one wants.
It’s a bad thing. A lot of times, four or five people will get together and just rent a warehouse and live there. It won’t have any appliances in it, it might not even have a toilet. But it’s a place to live. That will now be outlawed.
Those are already dead so I did not consider whether that is the purpose of this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Maybe
The Sun’s reporting is terrible. They say that Americans won’t have to do this in their homes because Cali passed a bill that applies to renters.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the put details in there that legislate the types of refrigerators or stoves needed to be compliant. Like a backdoor way to make it so its only electric stoves.
Just wait for “California Landlord Compliant” appliance labels.
That will happen as well. No gas stoves will be compliant which means massive renovations for rented buildings
NY already has that.
I think it’s already “on pause” because even stupid Dems know that unicorn farts can’t power an entire civilization.
So, saving a few hundred dollars on appliances is going to prove helpful to millions of renters.
Instead they will pay for basic appliances through increased rent.
They’ll make up the cost by stripping out and selling all the appliances just before they are shown the door.
When I owned a rental house, I had a renter steal the brand new fridge.
I’m glad I don’t deal with that anymore.
The positive feedback loop continues.
If you want a refrigerator and working stove, find a place with a refrigerator and working stove. Same with dishwashers, garbage disposals, parking spaces, etc.
It’s an L.A. thing. Had to supply my own fridge once (pain). Never seen a stove-less apartment though.
Weird…never had an apartment without either of those
Apartments don’t usually come without appliances, but houses often do.
I’ve been in over 60,000 homes and rental units over my working years in the Bay Area. I don’t think I have ever seen a rental unit without a stove and fridge with the possible exception of some illegal units that looked like closets in Chinatown.
It depends on the rental market for any given area. Where you have larger, more stable families, who often own a fridge, then it isn’t an issue. In fact, twice I rented places without a fridge.
College towns, like where my mother owned a prop management company, always have one, as kids generally don’t have their own. When I was her handyman and I was doing a check-out inspection, I had to make sure one was or wasn’t included, as different towns had different needs, and she delt with a pretty big area (SLO county).
Some of the ADUs I’ve seen listed in the Bay Area don’t have stoves and there might have been some without fridges. Now if people were allowed to build more homes, landlords would be compelled to supply these things without requiring a law, but it’s so much better when the government manages everything.
Ive seen it in European leasing stories.
They would never say that they were inspired by the fearless freedom fighters in Palestine.
The root cause is deeper than that, but we aren’t supposed to talk about it.
https://www.thereligionofpeace.com/pages/quran/violence.aspx
That California law requiring appliances in place as part of a rental… Oh my God. Yeah that’s not gonna raise the cost of rent even higher.
It’s not because they pretty much all come with them already.
Former NFL punter Chris Kluwe says bill criminalizing sex change operations for minors is ‘what the Nazis did’
“LACES OUT!”
The War on Hate should be fun. Let me guess who is hateful – people who look like me. Who isn’t hateful – the guys who actually did the shooting.
Free your hate.
I’m starting to think Drake has one of them white supremacist haircuts. Which means he’s a white supremacist. It’s in the name.
Given the movement of my hairline, I’m more like a blond Samurai. A wannabe Japanese Supremacist.
The Japanese are considered white because of their racial views.
Oh no!
They’ve been granted dishonorary Whiteness?
The only thing I can really wish for that asshole is that he some day tries that shit with someone still adhering to the code of bushido.
I’m more like a blond Samurai
relevant
Japanese consider themselves pretty superior, white or not.
Juris I read all of that.
It burns.
I agree, and I feel horrible for this guy. But he is stupid, and if you’re gonna own guns in New York, you can not be stupid. I mean, what the fuck did he think was going to happen if he brushed up against the law?
“I’m a good guy, I’ll never have a problem with the law.”
Normal people getting fucked by the long dick of the law, often happens because normal people refuse to think like criminals.
Thinking like an outlaw is a life skill that should be taught in schools…
Grey man theory includes not drawing official attention. People, including us, bitch about encroachments on our liberty but act as though we still lived in a free country. I think it will bite some of us in the coming years.
+3 felonies a day
Yup. A sort of reverse play stupid games.
“I believe in the social contract”
And a ‘prepper’ do not belong in the same article.
I was going to comment on the story. The Post slipped the fact that he had a mini-arsenal in pretty subtly. It doesn’t change my views that the conviction is bullshit on its face and still in large part because he had the nerve to defend himself.
But I doubt any NYC jury would have let him off with less if he went into court with some story on how he only started carrying because the neighborhood went bad when the guy had 27 guns in his home. That’s not going to fly with my (admittedly biased) perception of NYC progressive fucks. They’d probably think he was planning a mass shooting and paint the crackhead he shot as a hero for stopping him.
In a civilized place, one is able to carry a gun with them to the store and back home on the off chance some career criminal decides to assault them.
In a civilized place, 26 guns is not considered an arsenal whether they’re registered (under a financially punitive registration system, I might add) or not.
In a civilized place
Yes, but we’re talking NYC.
He’s stupid by having about as many guns as pretty much every single person I know?
No, the registration laws of NY are what’s stupid. This guy is just a normal person living in a shithole state with shithole laws. That’s not stupidity.
As many guns as I do myself, in fact. The difference being, I don’t live in an extremely hostile and nonpermissive environment, and all my guns are owned legally.
NYC is not a civilized place to live. Foehner knew this, but he still chose to have a bunch of unlicensed guns around – for no good reason, I might add; that’s a value judgement, but it’s one that I think I can defend. Foehner is, to me, in the same category as a burglar who gets caught because he gets drunk driving the getaway car, crashes into a light pole, and has the stolen goods in plain view on the back seat.
What will you do if the DC people keep encroaching on Virginia?
Our last election sure didn’t give me any reason to hope.
I am debating when it will be enough to get me to leave.
Without getting into a lot of detail, let me offer a quote from one of my true guilty pleasure writers:
“When guns are outlawed, only the Government will have guns. The Government – and a few outlaws. If that happens, you can count me among the outlaws.”
– Edward Abbey, Postcards from Ed: Dispatches and Salvos from an American Iconoclast
Yeah, while I would love to see this as a test case used to break the back of NY (city and state) gun laws, along with every other blue state, I doubt it is gonna happen.
When in Rome, you got to bow down the gods, and NYC is no different.
“We cannot reindustrialize America if we encourage marijuana use,” the lawmakers wrote. “In light of the documented dangers of marijuana, facilitating the growth of the marijuana industry is at odds with growing our economy and encouraging healthy lifestyles for Americans.”
REEFER MADNESS!
Might as well quote the Anti-Saloon League that led the nation down a path of criminality and destruction. I grow weary of these fools.
OK, but they aren’t entirely wrong. The salient point is you can’t solve “the problem” (such as it is) by legislation and coercion.
No, you cannot. In my caveman terms,
“Stop banning sh*t!”
Carry Nation should properly be viewed as a villain.
We’ve reduced the prevalence of smoking in this country much more via social pressure than legislation.
Carry Nation was the Proto-Karen.
Mr Ilium, it’s “Carrie Nation” who was the psychotic anti-alcohol vandal who belonged in an asylum.
“Carry Nation” sounds like a 70s gun periodical..
I believe that Carrie Nation actually did end her days in an insane asylum.
Her mom did as well.
Apologies for continuing the misspelling.
“We’ve reduced the prevalence of smoking in this country much more via social pressure than legislation.”
There was plenty of legislation. Such as banning smoking in bars, clubs, and restaurants.
I remember when auto parts stores had stand ashtrays for people waiting in line.
People will abuse intoxicants, always have. Some people will do so to a degree that destroys their life. Making intoxicants illegal may in some cases prevent some individuals from using them, but it demonstrably creates a black market which in turn exacerbates street crime, undermines respect for the law among otherwise law abiding people, and empowers otherwise trivial criminal organizations.
At some point people simply have to face the fact that not every problem has a solution, and just doing something often leads to worse results than simply accepting the imperfection of life.
What was it Moj was saying down below about people denying reality?
I would rather have the untaxed black market than the state issuing lisences and collecting 50% tax “for the children.”
And furthermore, Susan, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to learn that all four of them habitually smoked marijuana cigarettes…REEFERS!
Michigan woman journeys to Florida, immediately fits in with the locals
A romantically rebuffed woman from Michigan threatened to expose a Villager’s “swinging” lifestyle when he did not return her affection.
Barber had been legally banned from the man’s home following a Nov. 9 incident in which she showed up intoxicated. She was reportedly upset about the death of her brother. The man allowed Barber into his home and arranged for her to catch an early flight back to Michigan. He even agreed to drive her to the airport. However, Barber became enraged when she learned about what the man would be doing after he dropped her off at the airport.
The man explicitly told Barber on Nov. 24 to cease trying to contact him. She responded by sending the man a nude photo of himself.
Wait a second. Swingers don’t want their lifestyle to be publicly known?
Wait. The Villages being populated by swingers is a secret?
The Post story on the old dude guilty of defending himself and having unlicensed weapons led me to this link (pretty sure it was covered at the time here):
Imagine if you will that there was a white felon who ended up in art diversion program who painted pictures of slaves being beaten by their masters or had a painting of himself beheading a black man with the American flag waving (as opposed to on the ground, as in this real case). A series of artworks in fact of one race of people being humiliated. And he had attended a Klan rally at some point or some other white supremacist outfits meeting. Painted adoring pictures of Hitler. Even attempted to set fire to a church. Imagine him smiling ear to ear as he was being perp walked for actually beheading a black man after a series of attacks on black men of similar nature that just didn’t go quite that far.
Now imagine him *not* being charged with a hate crime in NYC.
I am so far removed, both chronologically and geographically, that it’s tough to believe/understand all the things that are happening around me.
It’s a completely different world than the one I grew up in. I miss 4-H and square dancing.
We have a local 4-H shooting sports club. They use our club range to practice and hold qualifying competitions. Since the average age of our 300 club members is almost 60 years old, I see the need to embrace the younger generation in our hobby.
Cannot help you with the square dancing. I did it as a kid but was not really interested, it was forced upon me.

I did a small 4H deal as a kid.
Only learned that 4H was a county taxpayer program as an adult.
Fitch places Euroclear ratings on watch amid proposed reparations loan for Ukraine

It’s not theft. They are just going to send the money to Ukraine. Russia can get it back by also sending money to Ukraine.

“Gonzalez had at least 15 priors dating back to 2004 and a history of mental illness. Conversely, Foehner had no criminal history. But he is a lifelong gun enthusiast and a doomsday prepper, who had amassed a stockpile of approximately 26 weapons that the police found. Only a few were licensed.”
The whole thing is backwards.
That’s intentional. You defend the criminals and throw the book at the law abiding. Commie playbook 101. Keep the populace demoralized, fearful, and dependent.

So what freedom women didn’t have in 1965?
Abortion?

I’ve been reading Pay Buchanan’s Death of the West. He was all over this shit 25 years ago. Not everything he has predicted has come true, but a disconcerting amount of what he described as our future is our now.
That RCI article shows just how polluted our culture is on this. Aside from being effeminately mealymouthed, it internalizes the Marxist oppressor-oppressed dynamic. Women were oppressed because reasons. Women’s lib was a huge success because reasons. Oops, family and community broke, that wasn’t supposed to happen! Oh wait, that was the entire point.
And an obvious result from the get-go.
I read that too. I couldn’t get over how he so obviously failed to see his own life choices under the microscope. He and his wife chose to not have children – long before it was in vogue. They had careers that were more important. And then he has the audacity to criticize others for doing as they did.
It is quite possible to make a mistake and learn from it, and want to share that lesson. I have plenty of issues with Buchanan, but one doesn’t have to have had kids to recognize that when too many of us don’t have kids it is a problem for the society.
I have a problem with anyone who preaches what they don’t practice. Walk the walk before you talk it.
Capitalism’s creative destruction isn’t just about economic entities.

Witholding Turi would make me reconsider my stances.
The FBI was started to dig up dirt on political enemies. Once they are done doing that, occasionally they squeeze in some crime solving. This has always been the way and the FBI shouldn’t exist because of that.
J. Edgar Hoover was a cross-dressing freak who used the force of the state to politically blackmail his opponents. No wonder the modern left are embracing his lifestyle and personal politics so much.
A man ahead of his time?
Did you ever want to go into journalism? Probably a good idea you didn’t. I know I wouldn’t have lasted long. Case in point:
Local tv news in Philly interviews a number of people about the rising number of “unhoused.” One AWFL is practically crying as she recounts how her church provides a hot meal every Wednesday to the “unhoused” and how there aren’t enough government programs, blah blah blah. If I’m the reporter, I ask “How many of these folks have you taken in to live in the church? How many are you hosting in your home or apartment?” The questions and answers would not survive the editor, and H.R. would be preparing my pink slip by the next day.
I say instead of unhoused we start calling them strays, or feral. For example in this story we would say there’s a rising population of feral hominids in Philly at least in part due to foolish people like this AWFL putting out food for the colony.
I like feral, it seems to be good descriptor.
Not all feral cats are dangerous, but you treat the differently than tame cats.
The same is true of feral humans.
Yeah, “feral” is pretty damn apt for a lot of the behavior I see from many of these types.
More like feral dogs than cats Ron.
They nearly are all dangerous, particularly when in large groups.
Funny how the number of (insert trendy euphemism here) never goes down – only up.
Hell no. I can’t imagine a more soul-sucking pursuit.
From yesterday’s links:
@Trials and Trippelations said:
Welp, that’s closer than Switzerland, for sure.
This absolutely drives me batshit INSANE.
1. In my medical transcriptioning, I’ve done reports for 90-year-old men who were going in for a quad CABG. Okay, I’ll be crass— ON MY FUCKING DIME.
2. Had to give XX a crash course in why healthcare is so fucked up. A couple of things really shocked her, but I thought she’d recoil at “The people who are supposed to die aren’t.”
3. My mother’s PCP was the most adamant asshole in the world, demanding she get better, to “put in the work” so she’d get better, and the cunty aunts piled on. Like, dude, you’re a DOCTOR and she’s 81 FUCKING YEARS OLD. What do you think people DO when they’re 81????
Cunty Aunt Susie is scared to death to die. Like, you say you believe in an afterlife with no eternal place of torment. WTF is your problem? Also, she believes reality doesn’t apply to her.
The problem is people are afraid of dying. Like, this is INEVITABLE. As a society, we forgot this.
The problem is people are afraid of dying. Like, this is INEVITABLE. As a society, we forgot this.
This is what happens when you shunt grandma off into adult daycare the instant she forgets what day of the week it is. God forbid Mr and Mrs power couple sacrifice for a few months to honor their parents with a dignified dotage. Nah, let’s structure the inheritance, shove granny into a Medicaid nursing home, and count down the days until we get her house.
Meanwhile, their 1.7 kids never see what dying looks like, not that they’d ever bother to look up from their screens.
Yeah, I’m in a cynical mood. Why do you ask?
Well, move over and we can bitch at each other because I’m in a similar mood. Every time I think about what happened this year (not just about the house), I get enraged.
We were recently down in Arkansas, where my wife’s 94 year old (step)grandfather with advanced Alzheimer’s was being treated like trash. His actual kids don’t give half a crap and hardly visit. His step kids (wife’s dad and uncle) still resent him 30 years later for marrying their mom after their dad died.
Poor guy is the gentlest, nicest old man you’d ever meet. He was always a bit of a weirdo, but in a harmless way. Yeah, he asks the same question 15 times in a day. Yeah, sometimes he calls black people “blackies” and fat people “fatties”. So what? Give the man a dignified end of life. He has months left, not years, and they’re bickering over how much of the inheritance to spend on his EOL care. He has been in the family since the late 80s and they’d gladly roll him out with the trash can next week if they didn’t think it would kill their mom to do so.
Oh, and also, that PCP WAS going to override my mom’s DNR come hell or high water. He wouldn’t sign off on hospice for over 24 hours and he badgered her to tell him she didn’t want to die until he demanded (mind you, very sick old lady, doesn’t want to talk, just wants to sleep, wants him to go away) she tell him FROM HER OWN MOUTH that she wanted to die. So she did. He left VERY pissed off.
That purple piece of cardstock taped to her wall where everybody can see it is the most valuable thing she owns.
That shit is inexcusable. Sorry doc, but you’re not in charge here. You’re a servant and it’s time to start acting like one.
Moj, why do some of your relatives piss off a writer? To quote Red Forman, “What good could come of it?”
trashy, what if your family sucks?
trashy, what if your family sucks?
Everybody’s family sucks in some way. However, just because they suck doesn’t mean we have to suck in return. Alienation is one thing. Folks with simmering resentment but a mostly functional relationship ought to weigh whether they’re the victim of the suck or a major contributor of the suck.
There are many parts and aspects of my family and my wife’s family that suck. We’re trying to overcome that nonsense and still have hospitable hearts towards these people. How else can we expect things to change? If we want our kids to treat us well, we have to treat the older generations well. At some point, one of the links in the chain of suck has to be broken. May as well be me to do it.
Well, to be quite honest, I’m not sure cunty aunts actually know I’m a writer or they may have a vague idea I might dabble in writing stories, but I don’t know what, and they wouldn’t care any which way.
My mom doesn’t value either my talent or my œuvre because I write icky things, so that negates everything else. Also, this is passive. She doesn’t value anybody’s accomplishments. She just … doesn’t. She values a clean house and admires a good housekeeper. That’s pretty much it.
My brothers, well … I’m not sure if they dismiss it as “lady porn” or if they don’t see it as an accomplishment because it’s just what I’ve always done since they were born, and “being a writer” is just what I do. Like breathing.
I’m not famous or anything, but I do have a following, and they don’t know about any of it and wouldn’t care if they did.
Moj/Trashy,
I understand totally.
“There is a time for planting and a time for harvesting”
Somehow, some folks think they will be immune. They won’t. Prolonging suffering is criminal.
I’m baffled by this. Death happens. Being a doctor doesn’t mean the pursuit of life at all costs. If your patient has a severe illness, death is a real possibility and there needs to be a plan in place for that.
I see it all the time. A old, terminally ill patient comes through the door in bad shape. Family shows up, says they “want everything done”. I do my best to explain what everything . Sometimes that makes a difference. Most of the time, they’ve never even thought that their emaciated relative might pass away soon. Their doctors haven’t even broached the subject. Maybe they just didn’t want to hear it.
You’re not wrong.
But.
Your life as a doctor has undoubtedly shaped your values in a different way than however those non-doctors lives have shaped theirs. I do not ever want to privilege one person’s values over another when it comes to policy. That’s way too close to “shut up and obey your betters.”
Missus F and I are trying to get things in order that will make the transition easier. Giving away as much stuff
as possible. The generosity at Xmas time for old people is absurd.
We don’t want anything, we don’t need anything. Even as kids/grand kids have scattered it’s OK if they don’t
visit. We have to remind ourselves that we weren’t necessarily the most attentive either, as our parents were in decline.
It’s not really a values question, unless you want to completely alter the values that underpin the medical profession.
Patient autonomy, dignity, minimizing human suffering. All of those things are values, yes, but I would think they aren’t really up for debate.
For a doctor to be angry with a patient who doesn’t want to undergo treatment anymore is a serious breach of medical ethics. At the end of the day, the patient decides what happens to their own body. The doctor is not supposed to be there to override them, but to inform them of their choices and help them make decisions about their own care.
@Not Adahn, doctors/medical establishment and people’s families override patients’ stated and legal documents all the time. The patients aren’t strong enough to advocate for themselves, have relied on people they trusted (e.g., POA for healthcare decisions), and the families can’t let go. Like, you would RATHER see your loved one suffer than let him go? REALLY? That’s one reason I was so enraged by my aunts. Like, what is your PROBLEM? Life as you know it is OVER. Spend your time processing and preparing.
I complained to the state board of health about this asshole.
The patients aren’t strong enough to advocate for themselves, have relied on people they trusted (e.g., POA for healthcare decisions), and the families can’t let go.
If you really want to tie your medical providers in knots, put together an advanced directive and assign a medical POA to your kid who is least likely to respect your advanced directive.
In reality, from what I’ve heard, the POA wins out because they’d rather have a sedated dying person not get their way than a grieving child chimp out in the hospital room.

$77k or as we americans call it $1300/mo for 84 months
Yeah. That price is insane. And no matter what model you get, it has a turbo engine. I am hoping by next year you could get a basic version with a non-turbo six. That would be ideal. This tiny turbo motor shit needs to end.
I got a new Jeep Grand Cherokee for a little over half that money and have a better road trip experience.
Buy a used Raptor.
Damn it I knew I should have kept my 2014 even with the motor slowly dying.
“The bartender, Miguel Marchese, previously told SFGATE he was finally able to free his hair from her grip by throwing Afkari’s phone down the street so she would chase it.”
HAHAHAHA! I do the same w Peabody and his bone. God, humans are so funny.
Even better was this quote: Marchese said he only managed to get his hair free by throwing the woman’s phone down the street so she would chase after it “like a rabid dog going after a bone,” he said.
I don’t know why but “Vibra-Tite” strikes me as euphemistic.
I’ve applied it to the screws on the optic for the Shadow 2 and have to let it cure now. Why is the brush it comes with three miles wide?
Homebrew grips on it?
No, those are still printing. The optics screws had backed out so that the red dot rattled, and I needed to address that before looking at grips.
‘Cause the container that you got is intended for larger fasteners?
One of the cool things about VC-3 is that it works on tiny #5-40 bolts, and big 3/4″ bolts, exactly the same. LocTite does not.
It’s a 1 oz bottle. They weren’t selling smaller. I admit that it could cover a few thousand of the screws I routinely work with.
Use an old tiny paint brush and then toss it when done.
I need to restock all my chemicals, I moved in with no glues or Loctites or anything other than a small tube of E-6000. I was at Home Depot just yesterday and saw the display for red and blue Loctite. It’s going to take a while to restock everything.
I just wiped most of the chemical off on the rim of the bottle and used the corner of the oversized brush.
I am not ruining one of my myriad disposable trash brushes when there’s no reason to.
We use toothpicks, seems to work okay.
Is it…
A Trshy brush?
Is it too much to ask for what is in the bill?
https://www.cbsnews.com/live-updates/house-health-care-vote-republicans-congress/
Pork and assorted awful. All bills contain pork and assorted awful. Other than the spelling of the non-pork portion, bills are just like sausages, pork and offal.
All true. But how will this bill screw us specifically? I wish to know so I can at least plan for the impact.
Scrapple is a proud tradition of Pennsylvania, how dare you assail it!
Scrapple is poor people being clever with their trash.

Based on (((Jarflax’s location, goetta would be the appropriate pork scrap dish.
Gotta getta goetta for Goethe?
As one of my idols said,”We have to pass the bill to see what’s in it”.
Still blows my mind that this wasn’t a problem for most people.
No! “…so YOU can see what’s in it”. Ice cream?
Is it…

“Elon Musk stirred up the ire of X users on Tuesday with a bizarre post inspired by Sydney Sweeney’s breasts.
The 54-year-old multi-billionaire was slammed on his own social media site after he weighed in on the 28-year-old actress’s attire at the Los Angeles premiere of her new psychological thriller The Housemaid….
In response to a video of the actress on the red carpet, Musk posted a disjointed AI-generated graphic featuring a photo of a smiling woman with large breasts that was captioned, ‘What it looks like,’ along with a graphic of a body with an inflamed, red spine.
The woman said ‘Owie’ in a childish voice, suggesting that she was suffering from back pain because of the size of her breasts.”

Most 2025 story?
I’m not seeing why the curse of lower back pain is being mocked by these shrill anti-Musk nobodies.
Useless nobodies have no way to get attention besides bitching on X. This is the curse of social media.
Written by a dude.
Probably a gay one who has never been around a woman with large breasts. Lobe with one for twenty years and you’ll learn the trade offs.

Everything is retarded.
Or, you could pack an empty water bottle (that you refill after clearing security), and a few LiquidIV sachets. You could even use a collapsible water bottle if you really want to be mister clever dick.
But that probably won’t get you 3,000 reddit comments…
The joy of security theater, I can’t bring a 12 ounce sealed plastic water bottle, but a 1 liter stainless steel empty water bottle is fine.
True of course…but I’d still rather have the 1-liter stainless bottle or a big travel mug, than a single-use plastic bottle that I’m gonna throw away. Just like I generally pack a lunch for myself if I’m on a long flight, instead of paying out the ass for whatever dogshit snacks the airlines are dishing out.
The older I get, the more I start acting like my parents…
Load up on the good food in the lounge beforehand, skip the airline food.
I would greatly miss lounge access.
Also true.
https://www.prioritypass.com/ is great if you travel commercial a lot.
👍
Priority Pass is one of the Amex bennies; we tend to fly Delta and Amex gets you Delta lounge access as well – those are usually quite good, with suprisingly good food.
My little game now is to never spend a penny in the airport – I’ve got a multi-year streak going (almost broken this summer when my goofball cousin mistakenly booked on American so he couldn’t get into the Delta lounge with me; he ended up picking up my tab since I wasn’t gonna ditch him).
““We have radical left lunatics out there and we just have to beat the hell out of them,” Trump said after Kirk’s shooting. Top White House officials, including JD Vance and Stephen Miller, repeatedly publicly vowed that a crackdown was coming. In particular, the government focused on “Antifa.” short for antifascist, is not an organization but rather an ideology that broadly describes a variety of left-leaning beliefs.”

Patriot Front is totally real though?
The whole article is amazing it provides evidence of antifa terrorism as evidence antifa doesn’t exist.
I’m not even going to waste time on yet another pile of lies from the fucking Guardian.
Antifa is “left-leaning.”

At this point in time it’s too much of a gamble to gambol.
That Chris Kluwe thing is hilarious. Im sure Hitler hated gender affirming care. He likely blamed it on some particular group of people.
People named Hirschfeld?
If you don’t want Hitler, don’t create Weimar.
Regarding “Reefer Madness”
Somewhere, there is a porn called “Queefer Madness.” Rule 34 demands it.
I don’t even need to search for it, that’s how sure I am that you are correct.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0704996/fullcredits/
Ted for the win.
I don’t think it’s an actual porn, however.
IMDb does include adult titles:
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0127090/reference/
Every time I hear “reefer” referring to a REFRIGERATOR or refrigerated semi, I have to think about which one we’re talking about. Takes me a few seconds.
I hate refer vans.
So noisy.
Ban
The Trump administration is expected to announce several moves Thursday that will have the effect of essentially banning gender-affirming care for transgender young people, even in states where it is still legal.
——-
In October, NPR exclusively reported on two new proposed rules for hospitals that Oz is expected to announce Thursday. The first would prohibit doctors and hospitals from receiving federal Medicaid reimbursement for medical care provided to transgender patients younger than age 18. The second would block all Medicaid and Medicare funding for any services at hospitals that provide pediatric gender-affirming care. Medicaid provides health care coverage to low-income children and adults in the U.S. Medicare is the health program for Americans over 65 and disabled people. Virtually every hospital in the country takes Medicare and relies on it, so the rule would have a wide-ranging effect.
Banning by not paying for. The worst kind of ban.
Why don’t those doctors and hospitals provide this vital life saving treatment for free? Why don’t the people who want this affirmation of true identity pass the hat and pay the bills?
Why do you hate caring affirmation?
The legislative package included a bill, introduced by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green, R-Ga., that makes it a crime to provide gender-affirming care to transgender minors, punishable by a fine or prison time of up to 10 years. It passed on Wednesday.
Another bill, introduced by Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, would prohibit Medicaid reimbursement for gender-affirming care for youth. It is scheduled for a vote on Thursday. Both bills would also have to pass the Senate to become law.
Supporters and opponents of transgender rights agree that, taken together, the forthcoming hospital rules could make access to pediatric gender-affirming care across the country extremely difficult, if not impossible. The care is already banned in 27 states. The proposed rules will start a comment period after they are entered into the Federal Register; they will not take effect immediately.
They might as well ban health care.
JFC
I wonder why they don’t state these things plainly. They are talking – at minimum – about feeding medically unnecessary hormones to small children.
Chemical castration?
Who knows WTF they are talking about when they couch everything in flowery language deliberately designed to hide what they are really doing.
“Edys Renan Membreño Díaz, a 30-year-old Honduran national who illegally entered the United States at least seven times after prior deportations, pleaded guilty in 2022 to raping and sodomizing a vulnerable woman with cerebral palsy and cognitive delays. He dragged her into the laundry room of her apartment building during the assault and is currently serving a 6- to 15-year state prison sentence, with possible release as early as July 2028.
In a separate federal case for illegal re-entry, where prosecutors sought an additional 19-24 months, U.S. District Judge Judith Levy sentenced him in August 2024 to time served (about five months) plus a fine. She openly commended Díaz for his “family devotion,” his willingness to take low-wage jobs, and his potential to serve as an “ambassador for living up to our immigration restrictions” by warning others in Honduras against illegal entry.”

He was so devoted to his family he raped a woman in the ass?
Maybe they’re swingers….
He only did it to feed his family!
STEVE SMITH FEED FAMILY BY RAPING CAMPERS. MAYBE HIM RELATIVE!
LOL that’s refreshingly honest at least
I probably should refrain from airing some choice words in regard to the good judge that might draw unwanted attention from whoever is playing the role of Preet these days.

The cost of living continued to climb in November — though a little less than two months ago — as seven in ten Americans say they’re barely able to pay their bills.
——-
The data comes as growing concerns about affordability remain a drag on the President Trump’s approval rating. A new NPR/PBS News/Marist poll finds just 36% of Americans approve of Trump’s economic stewardship. That’s the president’s lowest rating on the economy in six years of polling, matching former President Biden’s low score in 2022.
High prices are outweighing other economic concerns, with 71% of those surveyed saying their income just matches or falls short of their monthly expenses.
If you routinely spend every penny you earn, if not more, that’s a problem.
Hey look, another chart where there’s some chaotic event followed by a settling to a new, worse normal.
The gap between folks who had their life mostly settled by 2015 and those who have been trying to claw out an existence since then is stark.
Oh come on.
That’s bullshit.
I’m around a 100 grand short annually of living comfortably!
There are a lot of upper middle class people leveraged to the hilt.
There are also a lot of people who feel like they’re poor if they have to cut out the daily latte.
Spend less.

More useful than any news coming out of Rhode Island.
“Either the wages have to start going back up,” Waller said. “Or we have to think about trying to get inflation to come down, so prices at least stop going up.”
These are the people who spent more than a decade desperately trying to get inflation to rise.

I do that with “partner”. Do you mean “business associate” or “gay lover” (NTTAWWT)?
