What an absolutely wild final day of the NFL season. The Bears lost, but so did the Eagles. The Seahawks rolled up San Fran. All of those games had pretty big playoff implications. But in the biggest one of them all, Pittsburgh dumped Baltimore after both kickers missed a kick in the last minute of a really exciting and chaotic football game. And across the pond, ManUre have fired their coach. Liverpool will probably be the next to do it. Or they should be, anyway. And that’s it for sports.
Who decides what’s
“fake?” Spoiler alert: it’s the state. It’s always the state. Orwellian assholes.
It took a lot of balls for her to go after them. Glad I’m still allowed to say that in the free USA.
Let’s see what this fossil of a judge does. I wonder if he’ll try to claim diplomatic immunity. Knowing this judge, he’ll probably ROR him.
White supremacy claims another victim. When will it end?
I don’t know why they even bother trying to talk to these people. But the interviews are good comedy, anyway.
Fuck the will of the people. Democracy means nothing to the British government, who is less popular than at any time in the history of polling.
I wish I had the luck of these people. That’s all it is, right? Just fantastic luck.
And I’m sure they’ll deal with nothing of importance. Not when there’s grandstanding to do in an election year.
Sorry, guys. Best of luck. But I’m sure they’ll blame anti-union bias or some anti-california federal policy our something.
I can think of an even better way. But this will have to do, for now.
Here’s a solid track. From a solid band. Even if they were politically stupid. Enjoy them.
And enjoy this lovely Monday, dear friends.

Let’s see what this fossil of a judge does.
I don’t know – what do you usually do with kidnapping victims?
Wouldn’t any defendant who didn’t turn themselves in qualify?
Armed men from a different state (or gang if you prefer) seize you from your home – what exactly do you call that?
Arrest?
You might hate/think illegitimate/whatever the state, but they exist, all over the world!
How is that different from a no-knock warrant execution?
Arrest?
I know the US Marshalls Service does that, never ever heard of the US Armed Forces doing so.
That arrest warrant means jack shit outside of this country.
Sovereignty is raw power, always has been. You are sovereign where you have the power to exclude others. Maduro turned out not to be sovereign in his own safe room. I would personally have preferred it if we had just shot him or thrown him out of the helicopter on the way back, but modern tastes like to dress things up in criminal trials.
That arrest warrant means jack shit outside of this country.
The military has arrested a shitload of people overseas and brought them to the US for trial. There were plenty in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Mohammad Sharifullah was arrested early in 2025. There were scads of them picked up in the early aughts the same way.
(((Jar has it right. You come for the king, you best not miss. Trying to pretend this is all legal and nice – bullshit.
Afghanistan and Pakistan
How is Gitmo these days?
Supposedly, they had law enforcement with them to actually do the hands-on arrest. The D-boys were just there for security.
That’s the story. Assuming it’s true (and I think it probably is, since it wouldn’t be hard to attach a couple LEOs to the Delta teams), I think that helps with legality.
As far as the legitimacy of the warrant, I think it’s fair to say that cartel leaders that never set foot in the US have broken US law when their minions murder, rape, torture, etc. people in this country on cartel business. So assuming Maduro was mobbed up (and I have little doubt he was), the indictment looks legit.
This leaves the rather unique circumstance where a head of state is legitimately indicted for breaking US law, which leaves two options. Either shrug and say “eh, c’est la vie” or go get him.
I for one, tend to look favorably on political leaders footing the bill for what they do, as opposed to just their minions or subjects.
How is Gitmo these days?
I’m totally against the people being held at Gitmo without trial. They should be sent to a federal court and tried, like the people I am referring to.
So when Mamdani’s police unit outside the NYPD arrests Netanyahu and puts him on a plane to Rotterdam you’ll be OK with that?
I, for one, am unclear what US laws Netanyahu has broken, and I haven’t heard of any US court indicting him.
So there’s no legal predicate for any US cop to arrest him. I know, technicalities . . . .
I’m okay with anything that happens to any politician.
The legitimacy of U.S. law rests on U.S. sovereignty and that sovereignty does not extend to every end of the planet. Militarily, we’ll only do this to people that can’t actually fight back which is the nationalist version of being a schoolyard bully.
legitimately indicted
Oh, so you supported the indictment of Assange? No, I don’t believe U.S. law is globally applicable, anymore than I would accept Saudi sharia law being applicable here.
Not supposedly. There were FBI (HRT) as part of that entry team specifically so that law enforcement made the arrest.
Manuel Noriega waves from prison in Miama.
The legitimacy of an indictment and the execution of an arrest warrant are two different issues.
Ya thought I saw some DEA vests too
Yep, Noriega is the precedent. Pile up enough bad precedents and you’ve totally fucked the constitution
(((Jar is missing a key opportunity for the Dems. If they want the OMB is a king narrative to stick tell Don he can’t do a YUGE triumph march in DC. Imagine a parade down the Mall and through his new triumphal arch with the SOUTHCOM and USSOCOM commanders leading. Don, dressed as Washington, standing on platform on “the beast” with Pelosi holding a Golden Arch and whispering “Remember you are a man.” Maduro and wife pulled in chains behind a lawn tractor to the steps of the US Capital. OMB sitting next to Melania on golden thrones receives the Maduro’s and then before a screaming horde orders them to ingest street fentanyl.
Class, pure class.
I would pay to see this. Between the pay per view rights and the admission fees to the good seats, and concessions and merchandise, this could probably pay for itself and cover the cost of the raid. If it takes off we could do a series, Sheinbaum, Von der Leyen, Carney, Mamdani spring to mind.
I read on the internet that a “senior judge” is just a paper pusher to take the backlog off of actual judges.
Is everybody with a warrant who gets picked up at home a kidnapping victim?
…yes?
Also, taxation is theft.
A warrant issued in NY doesn’t give NY LE the right to arrest you in Texas, let alone outside the U.S.
There’s constitutional issues at play that prevent a LE officer from one state to enter another and arrest somebody. There aren’t for federal officers arresting someone outside the US.
Apples and oranges.
Are they Tosu fans or Michigan fans?
There aren’t for federal officers arresting someone outside the US.
True, a federal officer isn’t even allowed to be armed in quite a few countries.
The legal means of removing someone from their own country to face charges here is an extradition request. Of course serving one of those on the head of the state in question isn’t probably going to work.
Fuck everyone that thinks TEAM AMERICA FUCK YEAH means we can pull this shit off without consequences.
I hear ya, JI. From the broad strokes, I think the issue only really arises in this case after the indictment and arrest warrant are issued. The position that “any country can arrest anyone anywhere, if they can get away with it” certainly has its issues. So does the position that “People can commit any crimes they want free of consequence as long as they buy off or control their local government so they won’t be extradited”.
I disagree that a US grand jury can indict anyone anywhere for any violation of US law. There is no fundamental legitimacy to that act. It’s fucking abuse of the legal system to create a fig leaf, a very small and transparent one.
The NFA charges should be thrown out along with the NFA, but other than that quibble I am not sure there’s anything to object to here.
I get objecting to the silliness of us pretending that this is an ordinary criminal arrest, because it is silly, and because the habit of coming up with tenuous arguments to extend the reach of laws to things they were not meant to reach undermines the whole body of the law, and is one of the things that has ruined our society. I even get, but disagree with in this case and many others due to the practical requirements of speed for the operation and cowardly and treasonous nature of Congress, objecting to the President acting on his own. I don’t get objecting to the removal of Maduro. And I applaud our return to the Monroe Doctrine.
The Monroe Doctrine was to forestall European interference in sovereign governance of the Americas. Not for us to establish a series of client states.
Absolutely. There is no way we can or should stand Russia, China and Iran setting up shop in a narco state a couple hour flight from Miami. Maduro had to go. The operation was an absolute resounding success in getting him. Now comes the harder part. For more than a quarter century I’ve been hoping to see Venezuela get out from the socialist boot. We are starting to see a sea change in Latin America and I really hope it can continue.
So are you good with nuking China since they’re the origin point for most of the world’s fentanyl?
Yes.
When can we get the birds in the air?
Musicians, and entertainers in general are notoriously retarded. They are however, entertaining.
Here’s an extra retarded one:
https://x.com/pvtjokerus/status/2007961962823692365?s=46&t=A06oloe1Jyy9EG2F8MX6aw
And honestly, he wasn’t very entertaining.
LOL ok then
Starmer won with less votes than the preceding Labor leader got for losing. Yay democracy!
MamyDamy won with just 1/5 of eligible votes in NYC.
That is what you get when you can’t be fucked to show up.
I have to admit, if I lived in NYC (and hadn’t been smart enough to move or kill myself) I wouldn’t have voted for any of the assholes running either.
If you aren’t willing to vote, then you welcome whatever is coming gladly.
Nothing demonstrates the impotence of libertarianism more than the way this debate about whether it is best to vote for the lesser evil, vote for a principled choice that cannot win, or not vote at all. Not the debate itself mind you, all three positions have arguments supporting and opposing them, but the didactic certainty and arrogance with which it is carried out. Actually respecting each other’s autonomy would lead to persuasion not dictates, but that is not what happens.
Agreed. It’s clearly best to vote from the rooftops. 😉😉😉
Yeah I would have at least tossed a protest vote at Guardian Angels guy.
I think you have that perfectly backward. If you participate in the farce of voting, you should eat your gruel with a smile. I who doesn’t vote, have every right to complain.
I might vote if they had a “none of the above” option.
welcome whatever is coming gladly
You and Plato are full of shit.
(((Jar gets it.
If you aren’t willing to vote, then you welcome whatever is coming gladly.
Tails – They win. Heads – They win. You know *them*.
Don’t vote – “You have no right to complain, you didn’t make your voice heard!”
Vote – “You have no right to complain just because your side lost!”
Voting is largely the fig-leaf to give legitimacy to whatever the current mob wants to do and will do anyway. When voting occurs within a system that broadly agrees with the extent, reach, and restrictions thereon, of state power, makes sense to vote. If you’re voting just try a avoid the STEVE SMITH treatment for one more cycle, not sure pretending there’s any legitimacy to the system is the best approach. Sort of like making sure you get the full, hands on pat down with TSA so that the system is out in the open and you can’t hide from it or excuse it away.
“You and Plato are full of shit.”
And you and Nietzsche have tranny cocks up your ass.
I’m with ES on this one. I have a couple spare 30 carbines for you guys.
And you and Nietzsche have tranny cocks up your ass.
Yep, there it is the arrogant authoritarian impulse to insist that your choice among unpalatable choices is the only choice and to blame those who don’t make your choice for the fact that the situation that is entirely beyond any individual’s control is not fixed.
If you vote for the lesser of two evils you get evil
If you vote for a principled third party that cannot win you get evil (assuming you can find one)
If you don’t vote you get evil
If you start a revolution you get evil
But sure anyone who thinks the formulation “If you don’t do what I think you should you obviously want evil to happen” is offensive, ill thought out, authoritarian, arrogant bullshit” is clearly wrong and evil. Get over yourself, you don’t get to dictate which horn of the grand dilemma people settle on, all you get to do is try to persuade people, and yelling at them is not persuasive.
He’s gonna effectively re-EU the UK with a 15% approval rating and there’s nothing the people can do about it.
I wonder who would win if they called for a snap election.
There’s nothing the people can do about it within the system constructed to keep them from interfering with their betters.
There are other options.
And let’s just be clear that the Conservative governments did a fine job of sabotaging Brexit, making it a whole lot easier for the lefty globalists to toss the UK back into the EU’s maw.
I wonder if Starmer has enough support inside his party to survive a no confidence vote. Probably. Their majority is quite large, especially for a party who got so few votes in the last election.
And if hey have another 3 years before they’re required to call an election, they’re probably thinking the hoi polloi might just forget what a shit job they’ve done.
I think the ongoing Islamization of England will mean that, no, the hoi polloi won’t just forget what their government is doing to them.
Now, can they/are they willing to do anything about it?
Starmer’s a snake who fully realizes that his party will probably be replaced by Reform at the next election so he’s going to sign some agreements to torpedo them ahead of time. Luckily he’s also very stupid so maybe he’ll fuck that plan up too.
Can’t his party just outlaw the opposition?
That’s how “democracy” works in Europe these days.
Biden got the most votes in history!
I’m starting to question, well, everything.
Anyone who still believes he was elected legitimately is fucking retarded.
People who say, “If you don’t vote, you can’t complain,” or any variation thereof, shouldn’t complain later about ‘illegitimate’ elections.
That completely negates the secondary and tertiary effects of voting.
Not when there’s grandstanding to do in an election year.
The Bee knows.
Also from the Bee and relevant.
I’m sure between the dockyard and refinery closures / company escapes, the eternal diesel truck / locomotive regulation pushes and everything else — CARB will have their dream of the peasants mucking the fields for their betters by hand while they sip their Napa wines in Sacramento soon.
Or they’ll meet the French Revolution 2.0…. gee, can’t imagine which is more likely….
Morning all.
Any way to decouple California’s electric grid physically from the rest of the states?
Use some Ukrainian demolition experts? Powerlines have to be easier than undersea pipelines.
You likely don’t even need to cut the lines, just throw the switches in a control center.
Doesn’t CA also have a prominent Ukranian energy company board member as a resident now, as well? They could tap all sorts of talent for their energy endeavors.
Ya, stop selling it to them.
So west coast North Korea it is.
A little surprised this hasn’t been posted, but a youtuber gives his information and analysis about recent events. Why should you believe him? You shouldn’t if you’re making a meaningful decision. Fortunately I have no need to.

The Danish army probably has machine guns. We could arrest their leaders for NFA violations if the don’t sell us Greenland.
Have members of the Danish army broken laws in the US?
You can’t break a US law if you aren’t on US territory. By that logic we should be arresting and controlling every corner of the world, at least when we feel the desire to do so.
That’s literally untrue. You can be arrested and convicted for US sex crimes that are legal in the jurisdiction you “committed” them in.
I think it is possible to participate in a conspiracy or criminal organization that breaks US law on US territory, without ever setting foot on US territory yourself. Imagine, for example, that a group of foreigners load up a shipping container with nerve gas, ship it to the US, and release it in LA, killing thousands. None of them personally set foot on US territory. Would you say that nobody should be prosecuted?
People are convicted in the US for sex crimes they commit overseas all the time.
They annoyed Trump. Does that count?
“You can’t break a US law if you aren’t on US territory.”
Wut?
I guess we just have to lay there and take it from all the scammers, cyber attackers, embezzlers and people who attack American citizens anywhere except in the US.
If I walk up and shoot an American in Vancouver, BC – America can’t touch me? I launch a cyber-attack on all electric facilities in the US East Coast, from Mexico City…tough shit, America?
Would you say that nobody should be prosecuted?
Nope, but some place should get nuked.
Bio weapons scare the shit out of me, and I can easily see us being attacked with them because of our globalist hubris.
People are convicted in the US for sex crimes they commit overseas all the time.
Epstein wasn’t.
Swiss, at least in those cases you have US victims. Not so here.
Frankly I’d rather see Delta Force deal with foreign scammers than the SDNY.
I’m comfortable with going after people who never set foot on US soil if they commit crimes with US victims. I’m not comfortable saying that someone who “does something” with US victims, but isn’t on US soil when they do it, has not broken US law and is immune from consequence.
Which is pretty much what Maduro is charged with – “doing something” with US victims. Leaving aside the NFA violations, which are just stupid.
Which brings us back to the execution of the arrest warrant. Either leave him be because he’ll never be extradited, or do what we did. Neither is without its issues.
The world is a messy place. Subverting our own rule of law does not improve on that
JI is right. On the majority of this thread.
Those are bad laws NA. There are legions of bad laws.
I’m only talking about “is” not “ought.”
JI – was mostly trolling – but please do not violate OFAC, FCPA or any number of maritime, child exploitation and other statutes that Congress specifically put in the ol’ extraterritoriality in the law. No need to be from the US, in the US or such.
Other countries that do even more of this feature Spain (remember how they had leftist judges reaching out to charge non-Spanish folks who were very naughty in their eyes?) and Canada, which proclaims jurisdiction over naughtiness, anywhere on Earth.
TV Shows:
I have abandoned The Abandons after three episodes. It had brief entertaining flashes (like Patton Oswald being eaten by a bear immediately upon his characters introduction), but they were too few, and sometimes the setup was not worth the payoff. If you’re going to subvert expectations, the actions that set up the expectations need to be worth watching themselves, otherwise it’s just a waste of the viewer’s time, and that’s what’s happening in this show.)
I am deeply ambivalent about Absentia. It is extremely ambitious, and that causes problems as a form of entertainment. The premise is frankly ludicrous: an FBI agent hunting for a serial killer vanishes, there is circumstantial evidence that the prime suspect for said serial killership wot dun killed her, and after the feeb is declared dead in absentia the guy is convicted for her murder. SIX YEARS LATER her also-an-FBI-agent widower (having since remarried) gets a cryptic phone call from the incarcerated serial killer leading to a death-trap containing his still very-much-alive first wife.
The show tries to portray this situation realistically, which is a HUGE problem, since the relationships between Protagonist, her (now tweener) child, her husband, his new wife are all heavy and trying to communicate these things brings the show to a crashing halt, entertainment-wise. When the plot does move, it’s surprisingly fast paced and intelligent. I think Stana Katic is an excellent actress, but that might be because I want to bang her.
I’m halfway through the first season. Apparently there are three seasons (?!) I’m still watching it, but there are times when I have to stop watching and go do something fun.
I’m halfheartedly watching Halflife. I watched the first episode of Season 2 of Night Agent. I might continue if I get bored enough.
Would love a new series that interested me as much as Dark or The Peripheral.
Copenhagen Test is interesting but…something not really grabbing me.
The Peripheral desperately needs a second season.
At some point I will attempt to make it through the current roadblock of “self righteous genius lesbian being cunty” that has stopped my progress of Orphan Black: Echoes.
I finished Stranger things.
Barf.
The writers try to be nostalgic for a decade they were not part of.
Wills buddies would have at the very least abandoned him, his brother would have beat him up, and his mother would have kicked him out of the house.
I refuse to watch the Orphan black sequel.
Except Gibson got terminal TDS and Agency was a crap book because of it.
If they want a second season they’ll have to come up with original material.
It’s good to be the queen (?).
Off with their heads!
Didn’t see where she proved it wasn’t true.

Walz will now have time to hunt and fish. He’ll be able to retire in a couple months, collect that sweet, sweet social security.
Get that Nat Guard retirement check every month, maybe go back to teaching history in some rural town where he’ll be appreciated.
Probably ought to avoid a civil service job though.
Swish doesn’t hunt or fish, and is too white and male to be allowed to teach.
Doesn’t fish? Now you’re trolling. I’ve see pictures of Tim, sitting in a boat, with a rod/reel in his hand. He probably is a registered guide.
He can learn how to load that Beretta shotgun.
Liz Cheney can probably show him some tricks she learned from her dad.
I felt a twinge of sympathy on that one. I’m betting he got a shell in backward, which has happened to me*, and can be a bitch to unscrew.
*I wasn’t leisurely loading up before pretending to hunt, at least. It was a tactical reload exercise.
Military pension, two teachers pensions, a MN congressional pension and a gubernatorial pension once he retires. Unfortunately, he may not be eligible for Social Security. You have to have held an actual productive job for that.
I suppose MN taxpayers should at least be glad he can’t pull the “1 year of 3x overtime to inflate pension” that firefighters / cops seem to do reliably.
I wonder if governors are free to perform insider trading the way Congress is?
…
Oh, he was in Congress? Maybe not long enough to become a multi-millionaire.
Speaking of pensions, I saw that Biden is raking in nearly $500K a year.
He’s getting the guard retirement already.

Uptalking should be a criminal offense.
However annoying, freedom of speech covers the mannerism.
I thought he’d ease into all…but nah, get the hooks in quickly and it will never be clawed back absent bloodshed.
It’s one of the worst after-effects of millennials.
Not listening but I will point out that person is an actual, no shit, Communist.
I fucking hate the people in the modular synth community. They’re quite often the worst sort of leftists. I’m not exactly sure how much longer I can be in these circles. When a product demonstration video celebrates public murder, and calls for more of it, you know you’re in the wrong crowd.
The fuck is wrong with these people? Leftism is brain rot.
That is irritating.
I had a business meeting where a woman just burst out yelling about Trump. The meeting had jack shit to do with him. WTF?
There is a huge gap between competing Overton windows. I’m not sure what the fuck is wrong with some people. The idea of openly celebrating public political assassination is new. The idea of openly calling for more f it is insane. How can we have a free society when it’s okay to kill people for their speech?
These people are odious. They’re incompatible with freedom, and yet they use freedom to espouse their anti-freedom claptrap.
Maybe it’s time to dust off the Communist Control Act.
Relevant
I hope the person running the meeting went, “And moving on in the agenda…”
I dunno what that is but it sounds OK to me.
Now that we are electing actual no shit communists to powerful positions.
She was witnessing.
It isn’t really different than when someone starts speaking in tongues when the power of Christ comes over them.
Ted, my mother does that shit all the time.
Has to talk about how the gold is ugly, how Milania has had a ton of bad plastic surgery ect.
This coming from a woman who should have thrown my dad under the bus and given Trump a BJ on the sidewalk in the 80s.
“product demonstration video”
Was it from the manufacturer?
I don’t how many times I have to deal with fucking political slogans on sites that have nothing to do with politics. Like I’m looking for a programming tutorial and there’s a fucking Ukraine flag at the top of every page. It is *always* some current obsession of the left.
I block that shit with AdGuard because it pisses me off so much.
Dude, that fucking sucks. It reminds me of all the stories about knitting sites going full Lib, or what my wife says about gardening sites. And, in the end, it kills the site. And I am sure that the same thing will happen on the right when their world view is being shattered.
“Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s newly appointed tenant advocate called to “seize private property” and blasted homeownership as a “weapon of white supremacy” in a series of pro-Communist social media posts.
Cea Weaver, Mamdani’s new director of the city Office to Protect Tenants, made the statements and urged her followers to elect more Communists in several lecturing posts on her now-deleted X account that were unearthed by internet sleuths….
“Private property including any kind of ESPECIALLY homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy,” she said then.”

About 2028, the first lawsuit should be up for Cert at SCOTUS on the pretrial injunctive relief.
I know it hasn’t been filed yet, but it’ll come along.
The bot factories need to be burned down.
Government should not ban Ms. Weaver from saying the things she says.
But property owners should be allowed to shoot her.
Seems like a fair trade.
House her in the worst of the projects.
So home ownership is white supremacy? How does that work out?
Thing people like must be eliminated as part of our evil plan – we must therefore associate it with something people think is evil so they don’t see our evil, despite how transparent the association is in its absurdity.
It reveals a flaw in my ideological purity. Ideologically I think killing, disenfranchising, exiling, or imprisoning people for their beliefs is wrong. But …
You know how. With progressives, ‘white supremacy’ is a shorthand term for ‘non-trashy behavior like having and keeping a job, paying one’s bills, and not engaging in low-level criminality, that often tracks with good things like home ownership.’
This. It’s meaningless twaddle like all the other code words they use to mean BAD STUFF like “fascist” or “racist”. You can’t take most of their speech literally anymore.

NPR had a story this morning not yet uploaded to their website about Trump “wanting to issue” a dollar coin with his mug on it.

Or have a naval vessel bearing their name for that matter. And frankly, I’d really rather we stop having capital (or near capital since carriers versus boomers being the “real” capital ships these days is worth arguing) ships named for politicians anyway.
And while I’m dreaming — lets also stop naming infrastructure after the leeches who managed to steal enough money to fund them (plus the graft for their friends and cronies, natch) in the past.
Mood I’m in — just name everything after Ozymandias… like Peachtree in Atlanta — everything can be Ozy this and Ozy that… at least it will age properly.

Its original owner was notified of its discovery — and its shenanigans– by the US Department of Agriculture.”

….I got better.
As if cops do t lie in their reports enough already.
Trump Doctrine
“It’s so strategic right now. Greenland is covered with Russian and Chinese ships all over the place,” Trump told reporters as he flew back to Washington from his home in Florida. “We need Greenland from the standpoint of national security, and Denmark is not going to be able to do it.”
Asked during an interview with The Atlantic earlier on Sunday what the U.S.-military action in Venezuela could portend for Greenland, Trump replied: “They are going to have to view it themselves. I really don’t know.”
Trump, in his administration’s National Security Strategy published last month, laid out restoring “American preeminence in the Western Hemisphere” as a central guidepost for his second go-around in the White House.
Denmark can buy Greenland back for pennies on the dollar at the bankruptcy auction.
Lego bricks go for about 10c each.
“Who decides what’s “fake?””
If you had someone like Scott Adams come up with a program to teach critical thinking and how to have healthy skepticism, that would be great. But every time this is proposed, the solution is “Here is a list of state-approved sources you should believe.”
For those following Euro sportsball, carnage in Scotland this morning: both Aberdeen & Celtic fired their managers. The Celtic manager had been in charge for 8 games.
I really hope Hearts win the league this year. It’s be the first non-Old Firm winner since…shit, I have to look it up…1985.
Jesus.
Yep, totally on board with that. Aberdeen the last to do it, and that achievement brought Alex Ferguson to Man Utd.
“These businesses were picked almost certainly because Shirley and his colleagues have tapped into the long-standing tendency of paranoid reactionaries to make day cares the subject of conspiracy theories. Along with birth control and abortion — whose providers are also smeared constantly with right-wing lies — day care is loathed on the right for allowing women to work instead of being financially dependent on a husband.”

Glad you figured that out.
“Attacking Black immigrants at a day care center has powerful symbolic resonance; it’s seen as an important front in a war both to make America whiter and to restore white women to a submissive role in the home.”
Thanks for sharing that, it just shaved 5 points off my IQ.
IQ is white supremacy.
I guess that when you avoid interacting with scary conservatives at all costs, you’re bound to make up horrible evil ones in your imagination.
I read somewhere that conservatives can much more accurately imitate liberals, than vice versa. I suspect that’s probably because liberals avoid being around conservatives at all costs, while conservatives can’t avoid being around liberals unless they take a great deal of effort…
They write this for the same reason people write editorials at the Bulwark or Town Hall or wherever. The primary purpose is to reassure their team members that their team is on the correct track and they can rest comfortably in that.
Thanks Raven, I keep forgetting that myself. This type of thing is never going to persuade anyone. They are just reassuring the faithful, and maybe giving them some talking points. “Here’s how you should feel about this, and what you should say to your MAGA uncle.”
I couldn’t get past “Minnesota day care hoax”. Yep, all made up, no evidence whatsoever Amanda.
Don’t worry, the sure it’s happening and that’s a good thing article is already in the pipeline
As one of those paranoid reactionaries my objections to the concept of daycare are pretty simple. It was previously an article of faith that abdicating the role of parent to servants for convenience was a bad idea in terms of the character development of the child. Whole shelves of literature attributed the character flaws of the spoiled children of the rich to their parents’ habit of palming the actual parenting off to servants with no incentive to actually raise the children as responsible beings, and the substitution of material luxuries for actual parenting. Extending this practice to the middle and working classes seems like an error.
One substack I read recently pointed out that it was really strange that the population that had 80% of its members on welfare needed that many day care centers for their group.
Feature not a bug Jar.
I wonder what the “lies” are around abortion and birth control.
Oh, it’s crazy pants Amanduh. Ignore.
Hey women, go to work, pay more in taxes, thank uncle sugar, give your kids to the state, keep voting for us!
Trump said that the Cuban economy, battered by years of a U.S. embargo, is in tatters and will slide further now with the ouster of Maduro, who provided the Caribbean island subsidized oil.
Yes, of course. Cuba would be in great shape if not for the American trade embargo. Free and fair trade is a cornerstone of Cuban law. The world clamors for high quality Cuban manufactured goods but America won’t allow that to happen.
Europeans aren’t buying enough Cuban exports?
Speaking of sushi
A massive 243-kilogram (535-pound) bluefin tuna sold for a record 510 million yen ($3.2 million) at the first auction of 2026 at Tokyo’s Toyosu fish market.
The top bidder for the prized tuna at the predawn auction on Monday was Kiyomura Corp., whose owner Kiyoshi Kimura runs the popular Sushi Zanmai chain. Kimura, who has won the annual action many times in the past, broke the previous record of 334 million yen ($2.1 million) he set in 2019.
How much is that by the slice?
That’s $6K per pound.
10 giraffes.
I don’t get it. Why so pricey?
“Before the Pittsburgh Steelers faced off against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night for the AFC North division championship title, a priest was seen blessing the end zone in which Ravens’ kicker Tyler Loop missed what would have been a game-winning field goal.
Father Maximilian Maxwell, prior of the Archabbey at St. Vincent’s in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, delivered the blessing before the game, sprinkling holy water in the end zone, per WTAE.”

Just once can life imitate art for a Stillers/Ravens game?
That priest is a cunt and I’m fairly certain if he threw some Holy Water on Mediocre Mike he’d melt because that bug eyed fuck has sold his soul to the devil.
And he’s so dumb that he didn’t even ask to win like 5 rings, but just to Never Have A Losing Season and collect paychecks into perpetuity.
Well holy shit, for one of my political science classes, I’m required to read
“Declaration of independents: How Libertarian politics can fix what is wrong with America”
By Welch and Gillespie.
Just know all the good quotes will be on the outer jacket.
lol, I’m just more surprised that at my small private college that we’re even allowed to read shit like that, I’m surprised it’s not how libertarians are killing America.
Due to the popularity of tuna for sushi and sashimi, Pacific bluefin tuna was previously a threatened species due to climate change and overfishing, but its stock is recovering following conservation efforts.
Indubitably.
Why waste time “conserving” them if human activities will just cause the planet to cook them where they swim anyway?
“According to the message originally obtained by Homeless outreach group We Heart Seattle, “effective immediately,” officers are being instructed to refer all open drug consumption incidents to the diversion program LEA-PDA (Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion–Purpose. Dignity. Action, a diversion initiative connected to community-based behavioral health and outreach services…..
The new policy follows the inauguration of Socialist Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson, who previously advocated to abolish the Seattle Police Department.”

WCPGW?
“Diversion”. Where they will be handed free drug paraphernalia and sent on their way, no doubt.
Seattle was awesome in the 90s. I went in 04 and had a blast, didn’t feel unsafe anywhere I walked.
Went back in 2010 and felt a big change. Had to go again in 2020 and I’ll never willingly go again.

Yesterday, at the end of one of those football games, they showed a team owner and his son on the sidelines getting ready for the victory celebration. One glimpse of that kid (college age, probably) and all I could think was “Holy shit, I bet that kid is an insufferable overpriveleged jerk.”
I have two kids, both are not insufferable…

WTF with the prosthetic boobs??
LOL WTF
I never got the whole “gay dads” thing. I have *never* met a gay man at all interested in raising children but the loud ones among them try to pretend it’s way more common than it actually is.
lol, I’m just more surprised that at my small private college that we’re even allowed to read shit like that, I’m surprised it’s not how libertarians are killing America.
Arguments like that are just the thin edge of the wedge. It starts with “reasonable compromise and co-existence” but before you know it you’ve got forced labor camps and the domestic enslavement of womynz. I’m sure they’ll explain it to you.
Epidemic
There’s no more recent public data, because the Trump administration canceled the annual survey, calling it “subjective, liberal fodder.”
But in fact, food insecurity takes many forms in the U.S., and its relative invisibility contributes to policies that make it worse, according to doctors, public health experts and people like Vargas. They say politicians have failed to grasp that going without food, even for short periods, can take a significant physical and psychological toll.
“They think, ‘Oh, there couldn’t possibly be hunger in America,'” said Mariana Chilton, a public health professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Many people assume all hungry children “have distended bellies and flies in their eyes,” she said.
They’re there. You can’t see them because all the morbidly obese people are in the way.
Is this one of those things where there is no evidence for it but trust us, it’s there?
Like “systemic racism” and so many other things the left makes up?
“”I don’t think they’ve ever been hungry,” she said. “Especially Trump. He’s never been hungry because his father was rich.””
Gavin Newsome grew up a poor Black child.
“I haven’t eaten since breakfast!”
I’m hungry right now. I usually don’t eat breakfast, and it’s too early to duck out for lunch.
Starving woman living off the taxpayers has a 2 pound bag of Starbucks coffee on top of her shopping cart.
Disability check revoked.
Get a job looter.
I assume Venezuela has been discussed but havent seen anything, so my view:
1. I am happy for the people of Venezuela, maybe they can make it work out.
2. It is dumb that we were involved at all.
There’s good discussion at the beginning of this very thread. Happy Venezuelans down my way celebrating:

Four dudes shot, one dead. In other local news, Trump cited the takeover of apartment complexes in Aurora as amongst Maduro’s crimes.

Hegseth from the top rope.
I know a dozen retired military guys who should be busted to E1 and spend their remaining years turning big rocks to little ones for less.
Just like Ukraine, all the justification for our foreign aggression will be used by opposing and enemy states to justify their own. International law is just victor’s justice in a fancy package.
