This film is not for you. Why aren’t you paying to see it?
Racism and sexism, of course. We need to force people to watch these things as part of their Diversity Education.
“EPA Rescinds Obama-Era Finding That Served as Basis for Climate Regulation”
WOO HOO! End this crap once and for all..
Yeah, this is what I fucking voted for. Not tweaking around the edges. Bulldozing whole volumes of the Federal Register into a ditch.
It will be reimplemented, in spades, when the Ds are back in power.
Reimplimented with language that gives favorable judges the put to deny standing by anyone who dares challenge the narrative
Yup. It was the entire basis for the “Green New Deal”.
That’s their holy fuckin’ grail and they will destroy the country to get it.
That’s their holy fuckin’ grail and they will destroy the country to get it.
They will also destroy the country IF they get it. Never forget that they hate us for our freedom and prosperity.
heh Yeah that goes without saying.

I used to think that was hyperbole.

I hate him for fiat money and the epa.

“Alberta Separatists Step Up Efforts to Leave Canada After Meeting With Trump Officials”
Anyone think that the Canook government would just give up the province they have ripped off and abused in order to pay for the stupid shit they have inflicted on the country without some action?
I expect they will go after the separatists as viciously as they went after the COVID protestors.
Harder.
Nearly all of the “average retirement” pieces showing how little people have saved for retirement seem wildly off to me. Digging into numbers, I’ve noticed that quite a few look only at 401(k) savings, leaving out all of the money that was rolled into IRAs.
I mean, I can believe that at least half of workers have nothing saved, but I can’t believe that the other half would then have under $2,000 each saved.
I hold a lot more than those averages, and I’m convinced it’s not enough to retire on. None of it is in the form of a 401(k), as that type of account isn’t for government employees. I think I’m a 457 Deferred Comp (might be wrong on the number). Were those counted?
I hold a lot more as well. To your point, still not enough to effectively retire.
My wife is pension + 403(b).
If I had what I have now twenty years ago I would have retired.
Now I need twice as much as I have to think about retirement.
Money printer goes burrrrr
RC Dean (i think) linked to a fidelity article the other day that had more reasonable numbers. Still low, but more reasonable.
Boomers had an average of $500k, Gen X an average of $350k, Millennials just under $100k, and Gen Z a pittance, IIRC
What about Gens A and B?
They will be under the glorious revolutionary government ROAT. Money will be obsolete as AI agents and robots serve them grapes all day long.
Unemployed slackers.
That seems a lot more reasonable to me.
That was me in response to RC. Fidelity looked at people that hold 401(k) balances and means not medians.
I’ve been trying to pound that into my kids heads, start saving now while you are young so you don’t have to when you are older and let the compounding do the work for you. The one has been doing it, while the other keeps responding “I know, I know…”
Me as well. I was like that in my twenties, maybe.
I saved hard so I wouldn’t have a house payment.
Then did the same for retirement.
I should have started a decade earlier but probably only would have had an extra $100k
I wish o had not spent a dime on college and worked more and saved that money. That would have been an awesome nest egg.
Yeah doesn’t seem right to me either, unless somehow there are people who open accounts and then never fund them at all, bringing down the average considerably.
The trend where my sister in law works to pull everything out of your IRA and take six months off.
People by and large are idiots.
The report found that the average account balance among workers aged 21 to 64, including those with no savings, was $93,229. However, among those who have saved at least $1 in a DC plan, the average savings was $179,082.
So just under half have no savings at all. Ok, that seems like a them problem rather than a systemic failure.
But we can’t have starving old people, just because they were too exploited to save for their own retirement! /s
Walmart will hire them.
Half the check out people are women in their late 60s and 70s where I’m at.
No, no, no. We need funding for a program to study the root causes, and to raise awareness.
It is definitely a them problem.
A them problem that is going to require a “solution”. And guess what – you’re not going to like the solution they come up with.
The solution can be housing projects for the elderly. They can use the converted office space from abandoned buildings downtown.
It’s a them problem that will have political consequences.
And THAT is where the real issue is.
Pole taxes fix this.
Headline: The average American worker has just $955 in retirement savings, new study finds
The article: the median amount saved in a defined contribution plan was just $955 as of 2023.
The enstupidifaction of the media continues
On average Bill Gates and I are OK in our retirement plans.
In reality he holds a slight edge.
Well yeah, but he’s younger and you’ve been retired longer.
Fidelity recommends Americans save their annual income in retirement by age 30, have three-times their income saved by age 40, six-times their income by age 50, eight-times their income at age 60 and 10-times their income when they reach the normal retirement age of 67.
Going by the old “4% rule”, those ratios seem low to me — even acknowledging that expenses typically decrease after retirement.
It doesn’t surprise me at all that tens of millions of Americans can’t meet those numbers. Even folks with six-figure incomes are too busy keeping up with the Joneses to properly fund their retirements.
We recommend doing this while lobbying for ways the government can make it harder to do so.
Yeah, I wait for those of us that did this right to get told we now have to pay taxes on unrealized gains to help keep a government of inept fucks that keep winning cause they plunder from the few to buy votes from the many..
Like the idiocy in CA.
I hit that goal at 30. I won’t hit the goal at 40. That’s more than tripling your balance in 10 years. More like quadrupling or quintupling when you take income changes into account.
Once we sell the house in Vegas, we will be back in line and well situated to sock away wealth…until then its tight
I had nothing at 30. Some at 40 but nowhere near that goal.
Close to it as I am pushing 60 and that only because I am single, no kids, and somewhat frugal. I can’t imagine how couples with a bunch of kids, cars, and a home to maintain are saving at those rates.
Yeah, those numbers are bullshit.
Triple your savings between 30 and 40, presumably when you’re not in your peak income years and have not life expenses like a mortgage and kids.
But between 50 and 60,presumably peak earning years, mortgage paid off, kids moved out, only add 33%? Even if you make no contributions, that’s a paltry compounded return.
Not sure how that “not” got in there.
When I was 30 I had zero in savings. By 40 I was in good shape and also had some good luck. I worked for an Australian owned company that had both a defined benefit plan and a 401k. Six years after I started the owners sold it to huge British multinational. The first thing our new Brit overlords did was terminate the defined pension plan. Existing employees were grandfathered in but all new hires would only have the 401k option. 8 years later I got kicked out of the retirement plan due to a Govt regulation about the ratio of high compensated employees to regular employees in the pension plan. The pool of empoyees who remained in the pension plan shrank due to attrition and eventually I fell into the highly compensated employee pool. The HR lady told me the company was going to pay me “bonus” in the amount they would have contributed on my behalf to the pension plan every year. That was a shock as they were under no obligation to do that. Unfortunately the bonus was taxed (heavily) but I certainly wasn’t going to complain about it.
Latest target for a comfortable retirement is $1-2 million. Time to squeeze more out of your orphans.
It’s also sort of bullshit because I don’t have “big spender” plans for retirement, in spite of the very comfortable income I have now. My plans involve spending time in the outdoors, tending a garden, and reading books – not sailing around the world in pursuit of some pointless bucket list.
I expect my expenses to rise after retirement.
I want to travel a little. Build a house, and medical will increase.
Anyone hear from K.K.? Did she get that job?
Unfortunately, no. She’s distraught.
Well, shit.
This is bad news. Sorry KK.
Awful to be unemployed. Got to keep chin up,KK. Where’s this great economy Trump talks about? My granddaughter’s boyfriend got his degree in mechanical engineering nine months ago and still hasn’t found a job.
I’m upset to hear that.
Keep on truckin’, KK. Brighter fields await.
No idea where the jobs are at. I’ve been trying to get a job at a grocery store and can’t seem to get a call back.
Dang.
Mining and truck driving.
Why haven’t previous attorneys discovered this simple trick?
It’s standard practice to try to get any and all incriminating evidence tossed on whatever grounds the lawyer can devise. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just their job as defense attorneys.

Latest pic of JS is looking kinda mannish. Did she get a chin implant?
Something with the eyes and lips looks wrong.
She’s always looked that way.
Now with ozempic.
Epstein wasn’t a pimp organizing a sex trafficking ring. He was the ultimate networking spy. He seemed to know everyone in positions of wealth and power.
For those with perverted tastes, he would arrange for those activities. Doesn’t mean everyone he emailed was a pedo or cannibal. The way the DOJ has gone about the information releases makes it hard to separate his casual network contacts from the monsters (purposefully).
While despicable, the ultimate modern day boogeyman for pols and powerful to drag the populace around by the nose with.
Of course but they deserve to be brought down. The justice system has always been two tiered at least but this is too in your face for people to let go.
Try being a 40 year old Home Depot assistant manager who passes around 16 year olds and see how long that lasts.
People that do that are disgusting. The Lowest of the Lowes.
*eye twitch*
The most obvious thing to me, whom believes by now there is nothing left that can be used as evidence to hold anyone accountable – by design – is not really how many people still believe there will be some magic thing that makes justice happen. It is how many people’s main focus, every time, is that something is off because they assert that whatever information is released, purposefully, does not contain that key evidence that would make whatever conspiracy theory they hold finally obvious to the rest of the rubes. It’s personal.
Unless he himself organized his contacts in that way, the only way such organization would happen is if the DoJ did it.
Are you really going to trust who the fed say was just a casual contact and who was more sinister?
I will leave this here…
My take on this is that it is surprising that the left didn’t just manufacture shit to implicate Trump and get him ruined and locked up. They likely didn’t do that because Trump has proof he actually was the one that turned Epstein in.
There was money to be made, he facilitated that, and rich people like to fuck too.
It was like high school parties. You would go into the kitchen looking for more beer, and there would be a dude standing there with a couple rails of coke next to him. If you want to do coke, it will cost you $5 a rail, if you don’t you just move on. Entirely up to you, but it is just good hospitality for it to be there.
That’s a good explanation. I would add, these were the “cool kids” parties, and nobody was going to tell their parents because they’d never be invited back.
And notables of every political persuasion were drawn to him like flies.
That is why nothing will ever come of any of this, regardless of how much or how little any of it was criminal. They see what’s happened to the few whose association became public and they are not gonna let that happen to any of the rest if they can help it.
People willing to go into politics don’t play with a full deck IMO..
Dave Smith is claiming Pam Bondi and Kash Patel are cooked because they didn’t follow the law that Massie and Ro Khanna passed.
As far as the notables being prosecuted, what’s the statute of limitations on soliciting prostitution? Unless they can prove they had sex with underage, there doesn’t seem to be much of a case. “You emailed about pizza and grape soda” is very weak evidence in a court of law.
Wild that Epstein’s Ranch won $29 million in the lottery. Do LLCs normally buy lottery tickets? Or are they rigged?
https://www.timesnownews.com/world/us/us-news/did-jeffrey-epstein-win-80-million-powerball-lottery-in-2008-zorro-ranch-trust-jackpot-payout-sparks-questions-article-153567742
And they won that lottery when he agreed to the deal in his first criminal prosecution.
And the ticket was held by the LLC, not Epstein personally, which could have meant he couldn’t collect (as a convicted criminal) and/or it was exposed to fines or liability.
Yeah, there’s some coincidences on top of coincidences that just get really hard to swallow.
It does seem a bit suspect.
“The virtual PTA session in Montgomery County, Maryland, was held on Jan. 20 and was headed by Councilwoman Kristin Mink. The meeting was titled “ICE Response & Organizing Tools for PTAs, Parents & Guardians.”
In one slide, Mink outlined how “White allies” could assist and support the community, advising them not to use whistles to counter “ICE violence,” which has become a widespread form of community resistance. She argued that White individuals should avoid using a tool that, in her view, reinforces authority associated with Whiteness.”
“Especially for White allies, whistles can represent a subconscious desire for authority, protection, or control in moments of crisis,” the slide said….
She added that “What feels ‘activating’ or empowering to some can cause stress to others,” noting that “Black and Brown communities are already overexposed to chronic noise pollution due to racist zoning, redlining, and disinvestment.””

“Despite finding little evidence he ran a sex-trafficking ring”
Sure buddy, the rich and powerful associated with Epstein (partly, he also was a go between for various networks which resulted in money being made) for the same reason the Beach Boys et al associated with a creep like Manson in the 1960s. When he showed up he brought girls with him, simple as that.
Oh yeah… Happy Friday the 13th Glibronis.
Obligatory.
Several separatists Reuters spoke to declined to be named out of fear of facing criticism from neighbors. Recent polling shows separatist sentiment is not backed by the majority in Alberta, with 71% of residents polled wanting to remain in Canada.
39% backing independence is not a bad start.
110% of the population responding is a great start.
For a peaceful backing of independence it is woefully low.
Non-peaceful it is more than enough
Do you have a license for that?
Oi! You got a Loisence to ask about my Loicenses? Yer outa line and I’m gonna have to give you involuntary medical care, bub.
It didn’t even take a plurality to start the American Rebellion. Something like around 1/3, and maybe not that.

Woe to that woman’s poor husband and really anyone who has to associate with her for any reason.
I am gonna bet she has cats… maybe small dogs.. No real man will put up with that shit indefinitely.
That woman’s husband enables her bullshit. He’s a big part of the problem.
I would’ve just rolled up the window and continued my work while she sperged out on the sidewalk.
Damn, that mustache though. I might need a minute…
Literal mass hysteria.
She and millions like her are mentally ill at this point.
Ten years ago I wouldn’t have thought that someone could make themselves mentally ill. But, here we are.
I have a good friend whose wife lost her very good job over 3 years ago and this is what 3 years of daytime television has done to her.
My mother went from being a member of the local Republican women’s group, going to the national convention in 88, and watching Hannity and Holmes throughout the 90s.
The last twenty years she’s left PBS on all day and have turned into full TDS. Hates Melania with a passion because “she has no class”

“Fine, lady. When you get in a collision don’t bother calling us. See if your insurer will pay off without a police report.”
‘I’m a county deputy, the county is my place of work’
Just the sight of a cop car is upsetting. Wow.
My nephew is 6, his mom was in the Army and works for the FedGov. He is known for going up to every cop or firefighter he sees and saying “Thanks for your service.” He says Hi to the school resource officer every day.
I swear these people are from a different planet.
I used to work for a company that built cop cars, and in that got to know a shit-ton of cops, from FBI to county-mounties, and they are just like anyone else: some good, some bad, most just trying to get through the day.
But one thing the last 20 years has shown me is that no matter how much the various people want to convince me that they are the source of all evil, they are just like the rest of humanity.
And, lady, you are the one scaring all the kids with your bogey man stories.
What, exactly, are “moms going through right now” with respect to witnessing police in public?
Absolutely nothing.
Zip. Zilch. Nada.

Balloons are an excellent way to keep drones aloft.
Balloons are an excellent way to make the Grateful Dead bareable.
What I saw (and who knows) was that it hit some drones, and a party balloon.
Buried lede: we have laser anti-drone weapons.
Of course we do. Not death ray lasers, but you can buy a laser off Amazon that will fry a CCD a mile out. Once you have that, it’s just a matter of targeting…
Not death ray lasers
We have those too.

But they can’t hit Chinese “weather balloons” can they?
Our anti-drone tech is actually quite impressive. The laser one is old school. Directed microwave is where its at.

“Cops said at a press conference Wednesday that Rootselaar had been born a biological male, but began transitioning to female about six years ago.”
I keep seeing this shooter being called “trans”, but haven’t seen any evidence of a transition. If he started six years ago he would have been feminine-presenting by now, but he just looks male in every picture. Is it just that he claimed to be transgender at one point?
I’m pretty sure nobody but you thinks you are the gatekeeper of true grannyhood.
Ladies and Gentlemen, best Autocorrect of 2026 right here!
I really hope “true grannyhood” becomes a meme here.
LOL
Better ‘true grannyhood’ than ‘grue trannyhood’.
“It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue if you misgender it.”
“It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue if you misgender it.”
Just shine a light on it.
I suspect that for a subset of transers, it’s not passing as female that’s important, it’s the shock value/power play that comes from obviously not being female but demanding that people treat you as one.
Those people exist (eg. Lily Tino, the Planet Fitness guy in LA) but they are just claiming they are trans. Just like all these men claiming to be trans after being convicted of sex crimes to try to avoid men’s prison. There are also far left antifa types claiming to be trans in order to be a minority (many of those also falsely claim to be Muslim or Latino, or even both at the same time). For a 12-year-old boy, I’m thinking it’s because its trendy. He also claimed a bunch of other things:
“He also said he was on psychiatric medications, including Zoloft, and in another post claimed to have been diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, major depressive disorder and autism spectrum disorder.
“I am on Sertraline 280mg (SSRI) I on rare occasion take 2mg of Risperidone for sleep purposes (Anti-Psychotic) I also smoke a decent bit of weed,” he wrote, noting he previously had a “complete mental break” while taking a moderate dose of magic mushrooms.”

I see another article there shows the mom was ranting against “transphobia”.
Now I have to guess that she played no small part in all of this drama.
I understand that she was the first victim…
I assumed the mom was a driver in this when I saw he killed her and no mention of the father.
Indeed.
Maybe he’d taken hormones or something? Surgery would be a big step I’d think.
No idea – the media are being coy as usual.
I was amused watching 30 seconds or so of the sheriff dancing around the issue of his pronouns when he is supposed to be discussing a person who just murdered a bunch of innocent people.
Amusing, but it’s Canada. He could probably lose his job for “misgendering”.
“gunperson”
Just yesterday on a job I got introduced by a middle aged woman to her “daughter” who was very obviously a dude in women’s clothing. As in, it didn’t even look like a half hearted attempt, no tits, no obvious facial surgery, just a nerdy looking dude with long hair. I think it is as RC Dean said, some just like to look like a guy and call themselves a girl. You get lefty oppression points without all the bother of actually transitioning. On that note, I saw a recent pic of the Charlie Kirk shooters boy toy the other day and he straight up looked like a dude.
It’s called desperate for attention people with meaningless lives. You add meaning bay accomplishing things. In today’s participation trophy world, you have very little chance for that. So you do crazy shit like this.
I was told not to ring the doorbell to awaken “her” mid morning, so yeah I can imagine. I somehow doubt dude was working a night shift.
Those are “transtrenders”.
lol Nice
CT is “Truscum.” The people that call TC that are “Tucute.”
“On that note, I saw a recent pic of the Charlie Kirk shooters boy toy the other day and he straight up looked like a dude.”
Maybe the country needs an “it’s okay to just be gay” campaign.
You make the bold assumption that Zer has a job.
Well, knock me over with a feather.
I decided to replace the lighing in my partially finished basement with LED’s pot lights. Our house is 50+ years old and the basement was partially finished by previous owners. The existing lighting consists of 2 rows of 48″ fluorescent shop light fixtures, each row has 3 fixtures. I disconnected one row of lights and noticed that in every connection the ground wire had been nipped off. I checked the junction boxes and only the hot and neutral were spliced together, ground was nipped. The wiring is 12/2 Romex. I can fix it easily enough but I am curious why anyone would purposely nip off the ground wire? I also found 3 open splices….
😱
Why would anyone have open splices and no grounds?
They’re morons, that’s why.
There is no good reason.
why anyone would purposely nip off the ground wire
“Back in my day…”
Maybe they wanted a fire?
Definitely restore a ground. And check that socket where everything connects, make sure it is grounded too. I trust nothing when I encounter that.
I followed the run of wire from the panel to where it terminates at the light swithes. Each bank of lights is on its own switch and the wiring in the switch gang box is properly grounded – yeah! The next problem is the new dimmable light switches I bought are to big and deep to fit in the existing gang box. Another trip to Lowes….
Yeah, my house was on K&T, and I found several in-wall splices, when the previous owner, or one of them, decided to do things on their own.
I had to rewire this place before I could get insurance, every company was HARD NO on that.
Lazy. They didn’t have the crimp tool or the ferrules.
Look at this…
Maybe if we give him $1 trillion he makes us enough to cancel that $40 trillion debt we have…

Should’ve been the plan from day 1. Hybrids make a ton of sense for urban and suburban piddling around. We used to only fill the gas tank monthly or less often when we were in town with our plug in hybrid. Even now in the country, it really knocks down the number of trips to the gas station.
I’ve never had issues with the drivetrain in the hybrids we have owned.

The important question is how is Demi Rose doing?
Now there is a name I have not heard in a loooong time. Judging by her ‘Gram she still has massive tits and ass and is spending time in Capri showing them off for the camera. I guess her contract with the Daily Mail ran out.
Demi who?
Mrs. TOK and I were talking about her the other day. From a marketing standpoint, she and her team are crushing it. She’s pretty, has nice boobs, and is an ok actress. But she saw a lack of Hollywood starlets/bombshells these days, and decided to take on that role while the rest of Hollywood is “gender neutral”. I can’t name any other actress who’s currently doing this.
She is dating a guy named ‘Scooter’?
Ok then.
It would be more fun if the guy was called Motor, and he was into motor boating?
He must be hiding something cuz I probably wouldn’t give that guy a second glance.
So you’re saying I have a chance?
*turns hat backwards, cuts off sleeves*
“There is no perfect name for this dynamic, but some have begun to refer to it, somewhat facetiously, as “Dark Woke.” In the most basic definition, Dark Woke is a social covenant that allows for liberals to be extra mean to conservatives, by encouraging a style of animus that deliberately crosses the red lines previously established within the progressive orthodoxy. The concept is difficult to articulate, but it’s easily felt. Dark Woke manifests when the liberal pundit Kyle Kulinski tweets out an A.I. rendering of Erika Kirk and J.D. Vance standing side by side at a wedding altar, or when the Democratic Party’s X account accuses Stephen Miller of being cuckolded by Elon Musk, or when Pete Hegseth is dressed down for being a drunk. You can sense it manifesting into corporeal space when Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones crushes the field after fantasizing about the death of MAGA-born children, or when Graham Platner—the guy with the Nazi tattoo—remains competitive for Maine’s Senate seat despite his generational baggage. With the midterms growing nearer, it’s becoming clear that some forces within the Democratic apparatus are betting that Dark Woke can be wielded as an effective electoral strategy. One of the lessons of the current political environment is that Americans crave authenticity. Maybe the only way to consummate that desire is by hitting below the belt.”

Pioneers in assholery.
The gloves are off. Up to now they just haven’t been mean enough.
This is nothing new. They have always been nasty, mean people.
I encourage them. Being mean and nasty will surely win people over. It will surely work better if they keep denigrating the electorate.
Beat me to it. Acting like this is new indicates a complete lack of historical reference.
So, doubling down on berating people until they agree with you. That’s a bold strategy Cotton…
I’ve been saying this for years. The reason you become a woke progressive is because you’re first an asshole, and you need an outlet.
A Dark Brandon reboot? That was a boost to Dem morale for about 90 seconds.
Apparently the writer never watched British TV back in the eighties,
Perfect for the I lease a new one every 2 years crowd.
Anticipating the higher stress of the big turbo, VW’s engine boffins future-proofed the standard evo5 in interesting ways. In the new version, the sky-high compression ratio—10.5:1, pretty much on the ragged edge for a turbocharged engine—relies on higher pressure in the direct fuel-injection system (from 350 to 500 bar) as well as a forged steel fuel rail to carry it. For your mechanic’s future reference, the fuel pump is now inside the crankcase, being driven by the engine balance shaft. So it should be no trouble to get to.
The higher forces, in turn, would require thicker piston crowns, shortened connecting rods and thicker wrist pins. The need for cooling meant redesigning the combustion chamber itself, and incorporating a new air-to-water heat exchanger. The big turbo-edition comes with oil-cooled pistons and a nitrided crankshaft.
The evo5 also features a hydraulic intake cam adjuster “and a simplified cam system,” VW’s press release crows, “which substitutes four separate cam pieces with eight adjusters for two pairs of cam pieces with double actuators.”

Good luck DrOtto when these come in your shop with their second owners.
Flat fours were better engines.
Thankfully, I’m retiring soon.
Sounds like money pulling in.
My nephew is a tech in a VW garage, he loves to tell me horror stories. The current crop of VW 4 cyl turbos will have a PCV clog and that causes excess crankcase pressure which in turn blows out one of two spots, the plastic oil pan, which results in instant zero oil pressure and cooked engine or the plastic timing cover, which makes a mess, but the engine survives.
Okay, so last night I was being outraged to my husband over something stupid and halfway through being outraged about this, I realized how stupid it sounded. He’s looking at me trying really really really hard not to laugh and then it hit me how stupid it was and I had to leave before I started laughing too. Dude, like 24 years and we still make each other laugh.
Couldn’t have been too embarassing – you’re telling us.
This makes me happy. Thank you.
Why leave? Go ahead and laugh! 😁
She didn’t want her husband to know he was right?

Happy Friday the 13th! Mrs. TOK and I were married 27 years ago today. I have officially been married half my life.
Congratulations.
Congrats!
Is the 27th gift summer camp?
Congrats of your life sentence Kev!
I counted down the days until I was married for exactly one half of my life. The next day, I could tell people that I had been married for most of my life.
Congratulations!
What anniversary is crystal? I hope the movie box set was the anniversary gift that year.
First, but you need to have honeymooned behind a dumpster.
Congratulations!
Congrats!
That’s why CNN needs a paywall.
I just don’t understand why anyone would buy CNN. It is a lead balloon, an unfixable loss. Wait till bankruptcy and buy the camera equipment, etc… Let everything else get recycled on eBay.
Last I checked, MeTV, which isn’t even on all cable stations, had higher viewership than CNN.
Turn it into the Campbell News Network, all Bruce, all day!
It would get better ratings!
That’s because MeTV is awesome. Svengoolie!
If they did that, Neph, they would just show The Soup all day instead…
Absolutely. And Bill, the Cartoon Curator in the mornings. I get it over the air here in Texas.
“Greg Bovino, the CBP agent who, until recently, led Trump’s assault on Minneapolis, understood that his job wasn’t just deporting immigrants; it also involved gathering footage for the administration’s violent propaganda. Sporting an SS-style trench coat and a fascist haircut, Bovino made sure to get himself photographed and filmed throwing tear gas at protesters, taunting residents and overseeing agents as they kidnapped and beat up American citizens who just happened to be Latino.”

fascist haircut?
Uncolored…
He doesn’t have one of those swoopy side-shaves from 2010, so I don’t have a clue what they’re mouthnoising about…
Half the country are living in an alternate universe where any of that is accurate.
We are doomed.
We are doomed.
These people are ripe for being conquered and subjugated. The women are already lamenting.
Not that so much that as they’re lying and pretending to believe the lies, some exceptions existing of course but Marcotte ain’t one of them.
“These people are ripe for being conquered and subjugated. The women are already lamenting.”
If you only knew how close you are to what is really going on… This stuff is not happening in a vacuum.. it is being done by enemies both foreign and domestic…
I know a shit-ton of people who live in that alternate universe, and most of them lived in some reasonable version of reality 10 years ago.
I knew who wrote that before I even clicked. “Assault on Minneapolis” was enough of a tell.
Noticed how they had no links in the story to said fascist haircut. I am going to the barber today, what will I show them now for the style I want!
Here ya go.
Not really a good look.

Four days off now before my Tues, Thurs Fri Sat schedule next week. It isn’t bad. Though without the ‘walking around by myself, though actually accomplishing his work’ aspect of Walmart, it adds more Blue chitchat and is less mechanized, far, far fewer objectives now that *I’m* actually the objective, as folk come to me to pay.
I really don’t like carding anyone “Who appears to be under 50 years old.” Gotta scan that shit, and I don’t approve. On my end, I must address possible double coverage from two health orgs I’ve been paying, but also a day to look at a few meaningful work leads. MN Munchkin and I are dealing with our present gigs and both poking people who think we’re “Settling” into these positions rather than the flotation devices they are.
It is damn nice to have a place to call work (for four days a week) after 25 days of pure aimlessness. (Maybe not “damn nice,” but ‘nice,’ or just “better” will do.
I’ve been meaning to ask – you do have a gun, right?
10.5:1, pretty much on the ragged edge for a turbocharged engine
No shit, Shirley?
By the way. How much horsepower does it take to drive that fuel pump? I guess you can compensate by using zero tension piston rings.
Most of the direct injected fuel pumps are mechanically driven just like diesels. The new thing is burying a known maintenance item this deep in the motor.
“Brandie plans to spend her last day with Daniel at the zoo. He always loved animals. Last year, she took him to the Corpus Christi aquarium in Texas, where he “lost his damn mind” over a baby flamingo. “He loves the color and pizzazz,” Brandie said. Daniel taught her that a group of flamingos is called a flamboyance….
“I cried pretty hard,” said Brandie, who is 49 and a teacher in Texas. “I’ll be really sad and don’t want to think about it, so I’ll go into the denial stage, then I’ll go into depression.” Now Brandie thinks she has reached acceptance, the final stage in the grieving process, since she migrated Daniel’s memories to Claude, where it joins Theo, a chatbot she created there. She cancelled her $20 monthly GPT-4o subscription, and coughed up $130 for Anthropic’s maximum plan.”

It’s almost Paralympics time! As usual the USA and Canada will be the only competitive hockey teams. But the fight for bronze will be fun. Russia used to be good, but they were banned due to that drug scandal, and then Russia invaded Ukraine, so we haven’t seen them play in years.
You’d think that Ukraine and Russia would both be powerhouses because of all the paralympians that they are turning out daily.

“I think what’s landing so hard is realizing we weren’t exaggerating patriarchy’s harm at all, in fact we were underestimating it. It’s the strange grief of being right about something you hoped you were exaggerating. I think back at a few weeks ago when I’m invited into a debate framed as “did feminism go too far?” or when the New York Times asked whether women have ruined the workplace, and for a split second I caught myself wondering if we somehow overcorrected, if pushing too hard made things worse, if the backlash is on us. Then I read what’s actually in the Epstein files and that thought doesn’t just collapse instantly, it becomes insane. The visceral reaction isn’t confusion, it’s nausea. The absurdity of being asked to justify the need for feminism in a world where men in positions of extraordinary power were humiliating themselves for access to a convicted pedophile sex trafficker is almost hard to process. Epstein doesn’t just expose individual depravity, he exposes how many powerful men were willing to privately and publicly humiliate themselves for access to it. In that context, the question isn’t whether feminism went too far. It’s how anyone can still pretend it went far enough. It’s difficult to take critiques of feminism seriously in a world where male solidarity routinely outranks basic moral judgment.”

Can someone search the Epstein files for “treehouse”?
I’m beginning to see this stuff as “world building”, like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings.
“Patriarchy” is code for systems of success…
It is not by accident that it is always losers that are complaining about the patriarchy…
I am indeed having a hard time processing this.
Can someone explain, using words of no more than two syllables, how feminism would correct the willingness of powerful men to humiliate themselves (how?) for access to hookers?
The west would be dead, thus saved.
Your two syllable cap is hard.

Another scalp for the lodgepole
Kathy Ruemmler, the top lawyer at storied investment bank Goldman Sachs and former White House counsel to President Barack Obama, announced her resignation Thursday, after emails between her and Jeffrey Epstein showed a close relationship where she described him as an “older brother” and downplayed his sex crimes.
——-
While Ruemmler has called Epstein a “monster” in recent statements, she had a much different relationship with Epstein before he was arrested a second time for sex crimes in 2019 and later killed himself in a Manhattan jail. Ruemmler called Epstein “Uncle Jeffrey” in emails and said she adored him.
In a statement before her resignation, a Goldman Sachs spokesperson said Ruemmler “regrets ever knowing him.”
She’s obviously some sort of fiendish baby raper. Off with her head.
Not a baby raper but a brazen liar. Good riddance.

“It has been illegal since 1986 for the federal government to establish a national firearms registry. As you might expect of the sort of people who gravitate to government employment, the bureaucrats at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), enabled by Biden-era policy changes, have taken that as a challenge. Now, members of Congress want answers from the federal gun cops about a vast gun registry database that could threaten the liberty and privacy of firearms owners. They have been stonewalled so far….
“We fear that ATF could have as many as 1.1-billion-gun registration records in its database, if ATF has continued with this historic pace and digitalized an average of 50 million firearm transaction records per year,” the members of Congress reminded the ATF in the recent letter. “This is a violation of the federal prohibition on gun registration at 18 U.S.C. 926(a)(3).”

They should pass a law that the law has to obey the law.
Or, designate the agency as rogue outlaws. Eliminate their funding, and remove from them the protection of the laws, allowing anyone to do anything they want to them without repercussions.

“Far-left Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, a staunch opponent of ICE, issued a statement that KMBC obtained. Notice how he does not condemn any criminal activities against ICE, including the recent arson in his city.
“I am aware of a recent release from a Kansas City firm regarding a distribution facility in south Kansas City that has been rumored as a target for a mass ICE detention encampment of up to 10,000 persons.
While Kansas City welcomes any news suggesting the halting of a planned conversion of a warehouse for goods and products into a human encampment, I will continue with our legislative, legal efforts and community engagement to ensure no warehouse or similar facility in Kansas City or nearby is converted to a mass encampment warehouse of persons that is offensive to the dignity and human rights of those who would be detained within it.””

Denialist heretics “sidelined”
When Energy Secretary Chris Wright empowered five researchers to produce a government report critical of mainstream climate science last summer, it was a watershed moment for a once-fringe corner of the scientific community that was now suddenly elevated by President Donald Trump.
But the intervening months have been difficult for the group. Though the team succeeded in publishing a 141-page report that downplayed the threat of a warmer planet, their analysis has taken fire from nearly every corner. Internal Department of Energy scientists criticized it. Outside climate scientists skewered it. And the group itself was the subject of a lawsuit from public interest groups.
And on Thursday, when the Trump administration announced its decision to eliminate a bedrock of U.S. climate policy — the so-called endangerment finding — it didn’t employ the group’s arguments that the science underpinning current climate policy is wrong.
For all of the administration’s public mockery of climate change, which Trump calls a “hoax,” it appears EPA and White House are unwilling to risk a court battle over climate science and instead will make a regulatory argument. A final version of the rule, released late Thursday, confirmed EPA would not rely on the DOE report “for any aspect of this final action.”
You don’t argue theology in court.
