I looked at my son’s homework and saw a childish image of a man I have come to detest. His homework was to paint a picture of the guy…

This is my review of Grand Canyon Brewing Brew Forty Two Irish Red Ale:

My son was taught Caesar Chavez was a good guy, and at least since 2020 they do so this time of year since his holiday is in late March. I don’t know which day…because fuck that guy.

Don’t worry I put the kibosh on their propaganda. I immediately told my kids what any Mexican from Arizona with family in various farming communities throughout the state already knew:

  • He was an Alinksy trained activist that promoted communist agitprop under the guise of a civil rights leader because communists are explicitly NOT protected by the Civil Rights Act.
  • He is easily the biggest reason why the word “Wetback” is a racial slur. (Get a load of Snopes piling on)
  • He is directly responsible for the stigma against Mexican immigrants and/or migrant workers and the perception immigrants are taking our jobs.
  • His crusade against illegal immigration was to the point where he formed a posse that acted effectively as a private border patrol.

Those posses were also sent as legbreakers for farm workers that did not want to join his union, or were already with the competing teamsters. Certainly someone we should put the same level as MLK*, right?

In the last month or so, the left has effectively disavowed the guy, not for any of the above but for allegations of sexual assault. Now whether or not I believe them I will simply state I am biased. I don’t care for the guy alleged, nor do I find the communist agitator making the allegations credible in any other context. So, on that I will let the pieces fall where they may. Where I will stop and say something controversial is the newfound desire to cancel the guy. In cities from California to Texas there are parks, streets, memorials and such named after him that are quickly being renamed over these allegations. Here in Phoenix, there is discussion to rename a high school bearing his name.

I find this significant because there are a number of high schools bearing names of prominent figures from AZ, such as Sandra Day O’Connor and Barry Goldwater. While I can accept these two the problem I have is if you spend my tax dollars trying to erase this guy from history, nobody will actually know he was a piece of shit once the news cycle finds its next pariah. So keep his name on the parks, the streets and the high school, maybe we can teach the younger generation to stop lionizing pieces of shit by letting them actually find out the school they go to in a majority Hispanic part of town is named after a piece of shit.

All this talk of fake holidays almost made me forget one I actually do like: St. Paddy’s Day. What’s not to like? There’s enough Irish running around the US I don’t have to pay import duties from the EU to get a decent enough beer. This one is like Killian’s except it doesn’t give me a reason to pretend I am slightly better than everyone else because I’m drinking a darker beer like I did in college. After about a dozen of those, that just turned into Killian’s Irish Puke. This one isn’t quite like that but it’s cold, malty, and easily tossed down on a Saturday afternoon reading about communists eating their own. Grand Canyon Brewing Brew Forty Two Irish Red Ale: 3.5/5

At least it’s not one of those stupid Bill O’Reilley books.

“He is easily the biggest reason why the word “Wetback” is a racial slur. ”

He says it in a bunch of videos.

I think the new sex allegations are due to his anti-illegal immigration stance now that the Dems are for illegal immigration.

I’m OK with him getting cancelled, as long as they don’t start naming shit in AZ after Joe Arpaio.

Restore “Army Street” in SF! Probably a local shibboleth anyway.

Name it after Armie Hammer for when the homeless inevitably become a food source.

I predict everything is going to be named after his commie 2nd in command he had a couple illegitimate kids with.

As for why now, yeah I agree and I also read somewhere that his 100th birthday would be next year so the left had to discredit him now before he began to draw a lot more attention.

SF will just rename the street after some other commie.

        Saul Alinsky Street…

Totally agree with your take on Chavez’s anti-illegal immigrant attitude. Now it’s MOAR migrants as many as possible, and the more dependent they are on gubmint and the more reliable a (D) vote the better! So anybody who doesn’t believe in inviting the world to mooch off US taxpayers must be destroyed.

Was not aware of Chavez’s Alinsky training.

That sounds good. Killian’s Irish Red always tasted kind of chemical to me. Afaik, it’s also not brewed in Ireland.

It got its start in Ireland. At some point, Coors acquired the rights to brew and distribute. 80s I think? Since then, it has been brewed in America.

      • Common Tater

Coors also tastes like industrial solvent.

    • Nephilium

Killian’s is MillerCoors IIRC, at no point did they claim to be brewed in Ireland. Irish Red is a style, like Dry Irish Stout.

I was going with MLK, Jr., but it’s the wrong time of year for that.

I remember drinking Killian’s. No comment on “pretend I am slightly better than everyone else” bit.

I wasent indoctrinated with Chaves in school, it was MLK. Lincoln, and FDR.

Even by today’s standards my grade school teachers in the 80s were commies when it came to FDR, the lefts God King who could do no wrong.

By Jr high I knew enough about WWII to know that FDR and Hitler had the such close economic policies that neither were good guys. It took me longer on Lincoln as I wasent into civil war history, I always felt the MLK was a bit sus as hard as they pushed him.

Jefferson was a poacher as well. I’m sure some of the lesser known had some extra activity.
