When I heard this live, they used the same drum crashes that are in “The Boxer.” It was awesome.
As this gets posted, I should be driving home from my first steel/second overall match of the season. As much as I (generally) hate the people here (NY here, not Glibs here), this place has excellent outdoors to stand around in waiting for one’s turn to turn money into noise and smoke.
The beginning of the week’s skies are quiet, with Not much happening until there is a conjunction of the moon and Mercury on Wednesday (which is also the day corresponding to Mercury) so either make use of that be deliberately changing something or being on the lookout for wackiness. Thursday and Friday indicate that something is up war-wise, and Friday also has a new Moon which is either good or bad depending on what story you want to tell your client.

Insufficiently shitty
Good advice, counsel, instruction, slander, babbling
Well, I *do* meet my wife at the bar after work every Monday and pretend to listen about her day.
Back in the day, my wife was go-getter.
I would take her to work, then at the end of her workday, go get her
Sagittarius: 5 of Coins reversed – Disorder, chaos, ruin, discord, profligacy.
Now we’re talking.
“Shoot, a feller could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.”
This box should be in Fallout New Vegas.
Conagg show.
Nice touch.
“ Cancer: 8 of Cups reversed – Great joy, happiness, feasting.”
No food allowed in the bedroom.
No eating in the bedroom?
That’s just sad.
I watched this movie earlier today.

Nick Cage, so no surprise it was weird.

I’m reversing this shit. Well, the pretend part. Rather profound reverse in my base mental state, which is persistently chipper and cheerful, but it’s hard (and I’m unwilling this weekend) to shake the positive switch that’s been flipped.
*Meijer in-store, where I did no picking (and may only rarely do) and had a chill day in the back pickup dept. Everyone was talkative, chill and helpful. And I know the basics, so the system’s easy. No contracted drivers! Only one order at a time! *squeeee!*
And they’re all chill with scheduling. Got this week set up and’ll easily switch to a Sat or Sun shift a week (or every other, maybe) while my remote grading contract starts on April 20. So something professionally in my wheelhouse and some extra money and a gig to fall on afterwards, where I’ll be more comfy looking for meaningful long-term work.
I’ve been on this kick for a week, so yep, I’m trying to not be redundant. I don’t have to actively search for work, and the work I’m in, I’m used to and the fall-back is quite comfy. Having folk I legit may actually hang out with is a profound difference, in and of itself. Different dimension I wasn’t expecting. Got a sub coming here next week, which I think you’ll enjoy, and thinking of what thoughts I should get down today.
Stayed away from yesterday’s 2pm Cubs game so I could rewatch it fresh at 10pm. And, uh. Well. I’m glad I watched it. Baseball’s a great real-life sport: Even the best team is gonna lose 60 damn times a year. Get used to it. Got a zero real responsibility day today and another game in an hour.
Will be good to be a bit personally productive today, but it’s rare I get to sit back and think: ‘Well. For now, there isn’t any more I can do to prepare for the next couple of months. It’s sorted.’
Cherish those fickle, fleeting moments, y’all.
Excellent music selections today. Jeanette has an incredible range, and is crazy as a loon. Saw her at a tiny record store for a noon day performance when I was in college, as I couldn’t get in to the show that night (under age in a college town), still, a smoking show.
Clean, cheap, efficient
The developer of a major Massachusetts offshore wind farm is suing its turbine manufacturer seeking to force it to stay with the project.
Vineyard Wind filed a lawsuit Wednesday in Massachusetts against GE Renewables. That comes after the parent company for GE Renewables said it would be terminating its contracts for turbine services and maintenance at the end of April.
GE Vernova says Vineyard Wind owes it $300 million for work it performed. But Vineyard Wind counters that the manufacturer remains on the hook for about $545 million to make up for a catastrophic turbine blade collapse in July 2024 and the delays that caused.
Fiberglass fragments of a blade broke apart and began washing onto Nantucket beaches in July 2024 during the peak of tourist season. GE Vernova agreed to pay $10.5 million in a settlement to compensate island businesses that suffered losses.
——-
According to the lawsuit, GE Renewables is the only company able to perform the remaining work, and it would be virtually impossible to find another turbine supplier willing to take its place. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
GE Vernova has said that insufficient bonding at one of its factories in Canada was responsible for the blade coming apart and that there was no indication of a design flaw. Sixty-eight out of the 72 blades that had been installed at Vineyard Wind at the time were removed and replaced. Vineyard Wind said that set the project behind nearly two years.
The Trump administration has been particularly critical of the project because of the blade failure.
We need more of this.
