    The Tab key wouldn’t.

    • Evan from Evansville

Tab? I can’t give you a tab unless you order something.

      • UnCivilServant

Have you never seen Manila folders? There’re tabs all over the place!

      • Rat on a train

Alright, give me a Pepsi Free.

      • slumbrew

All I wanted was a Pepsi!
        Just one Pepsi!

      • Evan from Evansville

If ya want a Pepsi, pal, you’re gonna have to pay for it!

    • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

TAB? What are you, a Jewish girl trying to lose weight?

I am so conflicted here. That got real hot real quick. Quick, I’ll go take care of her. Only trouble is, I’ll have to get rid of that goddamn bear.

      Same

      • rhywun

        I am not conflicted. Huh.

I’m so glad I didn’t follow that Harp(?) shit. What I did hear, did sound real goofy, but also really trivial. Like attempted reverse laser-pointer distractery.

Seems a bit too good to be true.

An OT curmudgeon has a measured way with words that I like.

The contrast between Dolly Parton and the leaders of the DSA could not be greater. While Parton was known for her gratitude and charity, the DSA leaders are filled with anger, resentment and envy. And yet Parton is the one who worked her way up from nothing, while the leaders of the DSA all seem to come from privileged backgrounds.

He provides some examples, a couple of which are new to me. I could add quite a few others that have been in the news lately – like that asshole in Michigan and several other communist members of Momdaddy’s administration.

    • Brochettaward

As much as I despise the new wave socialists we’ve been blessed with, I’m already over the latest famous person people are attempting to claim to prove some political point thing going on with Parton. How many people genuinely listened to her music? She sounds swell. Maybe she was the real deal. I don’t know. Regardless, there’s no need to try and claim her or use her to make some broad political point because she died.

Only way that article would be relevant to me is if Mamdani or someone in that ilk was trying to make her a symbol of their bullshit which I don’t think is the case. I see some dumb shit on social media but that’s about it.

Great stuff, CPRM. I could sort of remember the hair dialog from about 75 years ago. ‘Course the hair’s voice was probably deeper though.

Brown men. Not black, which I find telling. Don’t recall Asian men, recently. I don’t know if the Asians would play ball. (Andrew Yang? Huh.) Brown men make women feel safe, but comfy? Not dirty brown but wealthy brown? (I may be onto something here.)

And wealthy, white heiresses. Um. Why? Like being groupies for the girl who got the fantasy princess life they wanted for themselves.

I get dreaming of being a ballplayer, a rockstar, soldier, doctor, etc. But why would I wanna be a prince? If I were, *thinks honestly* I’d pretty much live exactly like I do now, but I wouldn’t be arranging interviews, like my promising one on Monday. *ching!* I guess more traveling and a very slightly fancier version of what I do now. I think I could swing it. *shrug*

Reply to your link above where you say “(The author provides some examples of nepo DSA leaders and ‘influencers), a couple of which are new to me.”

      • rhywun

I dunno. Brown people do tend to rise to the top thanks to guilty white leftists. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

      • Brochettaward

Whites who wield power through brown people is the new hotness. They’ve colonized their bodies to exert control over the masses.

      • Evan from Evansville

*hand up high* I honestly think it’s a sexual attraction women get from ’em. They’re not white, and they’re not ‘dirty.’ A rich Indian or Arab is more exotic than a rich Mexican, perhaps more believable.

Not being white is crucial, here. AWFLs hate themselves so much they feel a need to ‘purify’ themselves, to give themselves to ‘more deserving’ and, frankly, *better* people. Natch, prodigious wealth is necessary.

    • Threedoor

Usually lefties go hard if you hurt a dog.

Kill a baby or shoot up an old folks home they’ll let you off easy but Muffy is usually sacrosanct to them.

      • Brochettaward

I’ve gotten to the point where I genuinely question the conventional wisdom that a human life is worth more than a dog’s.

I can accept that a dog’s emotions aren’t as complex. I object when people describe them as shallow. My dog would lay down his life for me. A lot of dogs have done so throughout history.

Most people can’t even reciprocate basic human decency even when it still benefits them more to do so. Like they just get off on being rotten and taking advantage and why pay if they think there’s a chance they could get future favors for free, ya know? In short, people are pretty fucking self absorbed and driven by pretty basic emotions that they add layers of bullshit rationalizations on top of to seem complicated.

This was a service animal to a girl with down’s syndrome. I doubt she’s just going well hey it was just a dog. But regardless, he did intend to hit a human. A guy who I’m going to wager was also a dirtbag, but just didn’t have a gun on him.

      • Brochettaward

        My misanthropy is definitely showing.

      • Threedoor

I could care less if the entire species (dogs) went extinct tomorrow. They are tools and pets. I don’t understand the misplaced heiarchy over humans so many people seem to place them in outside of the fact that we are fallen and our priorities are all jacked up.

      • Brochettaward

What makes humans all that great other than we have similar genetics?

I don’t know. I think it’s kind of dangerous to start down the path of intelligence gives life value when you really start to think about it.

Like I said, dogs may not be complex creatures. That doesn’t mean there isn’t depth to their emotions at least how I’d define depth. Fido is often more capable of altruism than most human beings.

      • Threedoor

        Altruism or Stockholm syndrome.

They have been bread to like us and work for us.

To give up their life to their human IS a dogs purpose.

Also. Altruism is suicidal empathy. It does not get your genes into the future.

      • Brochettaward

It’s especially funny because unless you are religious, what the fuck is the difference between a human and any other animal? Again, intelligence is the go-to answer, but that opens a whole can of worms the people making that argument usually don’t want to touch.

If some race has an average IQ 15 points lower, does that make their lives of less value?

If someone is retarded, does their life have value still? Should we allow them to live? Is eugenics be justified?

Maybe you have some answers. I’m just throwing out basic questions. But once we remove the concept of god this all becomes rather murky to me. And I never said human life doesn’t matter. I just object to this notion that animal lives are inherently of less value in all situations.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go consume some beef.

      • Threedoor

Atheist leftists for the last century and a half have slaughtered tens of millions based on those moral questions.

      • Brochettaward

To give up their life to their human IS a dogs purpose.

What’s the purpose of human life? Our genetics, especially at this point, are based on a system of selection for a whole ton of shit that I’d value less than loyalty. Christ, I don’t think you can argue that intelligence is even being selected for at this stage. The intelligent are quite clearly being out bred in modern times.

See, you can attack the meaning of the animal’s life, but you’ve yet to really show me what makes humanity all that great. You are kind of just presenting it as this self-evident thing. I can understand why the law values the human life given it’s a human civilization and it’s need to keep any semblance of order, but you can just as easily argue that’s grounded first and foremost in self-preservation which is innate to all animals or living beings.

We are fundamentally as much a product of our genes as dogs are. If we control the traits that get passed down in dogs that doesn’t really diminish the reality that they have those positive traits and most people sure as shit do not.

      • Threedoor

I’m in The camp that animal lives have a monetary value.

        Because they are property.

      • Threedoor

Humanity through government welfare programs is not selecting for intelligence. Quite the opposite, obedience and sloth.

What it the purpose of human life?

        To be fruitful and multiply.
        To follow God’s law.

I think you are absolutely correct that without a religious faith there is no meaning or value to human life.

      • Brochettaward

All well and good. You still haven’t really shown me why human lives have particular value.

      • Threedoor

Without a religious structure no life has value.

      • Evan from Evansville

I value human life more because it’s my species. Delineation of worth, or moral value, etc, is philosophical after the human line in the sand. I don’t find this complicated.

I value dogs more than cats as creatures because we’ve historically worked together. A special relationship, indeed, throughout our species’ rise. I value cats more than rats. I value rats more than mosquitoes. This isn’t hard. I understand pets and dogs as property. I’m also against ‘casual’ cruelty to animals. (Good, clear sign the inflicting individual may not be wired properly.) I’m also pro raising animals for food. I don’t give a fuck how cramped the chickens are. (They wouldn’t exist without us.) I don’t want to go to zoos with miserable-looking, mangy exhibits.

There are interesting lines and shades within, but as a general concept, I don’t find any of this confusing.

      • rhywun

I value cats more than dogs because they smell better.
