It is September 18, 2026 and Deshaun Watson still sucks. At this point, the fans hate Watson more than Elway, Roethlisberger, or Jackson.
I’ll pass on this whiskey.
This will save Hollywood!
Oh… wait.
For the comic book fans.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen video of this happening. (Artists rendering)
The vinegar man is going to be sentenced.
Doing jobs Americans won’t do.
A succulent baked good? (England, a country separated by a common language)
And they aren’t made with vodka.
Man, it’s unfair to expect them to take care of themselves.
They’re always in the last place you look.
With that, let’s get to a drink for today. With cooler weather coming in, let’s shift over to some cooler weather drinks.
Autumn Rickey
- 3 part (1.5 oz) bourbon
- 2 part (1 oz) lime juice
- 1 part (0.5 oz) maple syrup
- Club soda
A traditional gin rickey is built in a glass with lime juice, gin, and soda water. They’re absolutely fantastic in summer, but don’t fit as well in colder weather. So let’s adjust the drink. For this, we’re swapping out everything but still keeping the idea of the drink alive. While this can be built in the glass, I would instead recommend adding the bourbon, lime juice, and maple syrup into a shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Strain that into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice, top with the club soda, and give a quick stir to combine.
With that, I leave you free to enjoy your weekend.

A New Hampshire distillery is taking a passion for hunting to the next level with a venison-flavored whiskey.
Everybody has some kind of gimmick to come up with a lot of doe.
I’ll bet it’s smooth as velvet.
And they will probably advertise it with a nice rack being pointed right at us.
Q: What’s the difference between beer nuts and deer nuts?
A: Beer nuts are $1.49; deer nuts are under a buck.
Oh deer.
They won’t be earning the big bucks with that flavor. Ew.
Sounds interesting, if nothing else. I guess you could say I’m game.
I was hoping for a live action adaptation of Space Taxi.
I completely forgot about Crazy Taxi. I should bust out my Dreamcast some day…
*fist bump*
That game was legit.
I think I have that in my PS collection.
Including a boy named Kristen…
Yes, to be sure, freedom of speech and press is a shambles now that the federal government doesn’t have agents monitoring social media posts for information disfavorable to the regime and instructing ostensibly private companies on what information to remove from their platforms.
I’m glad out parliament is failing.
Cited by the article as an example of declining democracy: The AfD party in Germany…. winning an election.
To paraphrase Friedrich Merz, freedom of speech does not mean freedom to say things the government doesn’t like.
That assessment also has a concrete policy backdrop. A February 2025 executive order directed officials carrying out U.S. foreign policy to act under the president’s authority and warned that failure to implement his policy could lead to professional discipline.
It’s almost like the president is the head of the executive branch.
JUST LIKE HITLER! WAKE UP SHEEPLE!
“Democracy” means saying and doing things Democrats want. I mean, it’s right there in the name.
I’ve been working on my illustration skills lately. Right now it’s comic book inking. I’m struggling with it, even after a ton of YouTube videos.
ChatGPT, dude…
Surprised he wasn’t shot on sight in a confederate uniform in WA, but then lefties are nothing if not historically illiterate.
The Virginia State Fair had a Civil War encampment for many years until it was time to erase history. Now I expect any reenactment of the many battles in my area to only include Union reenactors.
Was that on The Rookie, Will Trent, or High Potential?
Sounds like desertion.
The cruel tyranny of reality
The Associated Press talked to a dozen experts who said that while the Iran war appears to be helping the adoption of clean energy, the world is still heavily dependent on fossil fuels. They said it will take more time for new policies to show results.
“Governments are currently doing a dance between acknowledging the importance of clean power while continuing to support fossil fuel expansion,” war studies lecturer Pauline Heinrichs at King’s College London wrote in an email. “We are seeing an old and a new world interact in contradiction with each other.”
When it absolutely positively has to get there, fairy dust is not the fuel of choice.
legit LOL
These people are shameless.
Thanks for the comic books link! I’ve been out of touch with that world for mumble mumble years, but have been curious as to how it’s fared. Especially curious about the impacts of the COVID hysteria.
Good article.
Not a problem. The Diamond collapse hurt a lot of shops, publishers, and fans.
Cured
Matt Bell, 52, has been farming for more than half his life in central North Carolina. He grows soybeans, corn and wheat and raises beef cattle on more than 1,000 acres. But Bell, who voted for President Trump, says soaring prices for fuel, fertilizer, and equipment are hurting his farm and leading some of his fellow farmers to consider calling it quits once this growing season ends.
“I’ve done this 34 years. I have never worried and stressed like I have the last year,” Bell told CBS News in an interview on Wednesday at his farm in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
The Democratic Socialists will save you. Stalin knew how to deal with farmers.
Not to defend Trump’s retardation and shooting his own constituency in the dick repeatedly, but where are all these Aesopian human interest stories about, say, Obama voters who could no longer afford medical insurance after the Affordable Care Act? Teamsters who had to go on welfare after Clinton signed NAFTA?
My thoughts exactly. Trump does deserve to be punished for straying so far from his promises, especially since he declared himself at the top of the GOP midterm ticket at his stupid convention last week. Still, I don’t remember a single man-on-street article about the many, many downsides of millions of illegal aliens flooding the country a few years ago.
And how many of them stopped voting for Democrats over it?
The What’s The Matter With Kansas? narrative is just too good for the sneering class to ever let go.
Corn and soybeans.
Subsidies must not be big enough for him.
Why is a Labour MP calling for military action against Israel?
“We’re not saying that part out loud yet, goddamnit!”
Because that is what happens when you invite in millions of Muslims?
“he absolutely did not ‘support the use of military force’ against the Jewish State”
LOL
There is no cannibalism in the British Navy.
Bell has been forced to make significant changes to his operation as a result of the high costs. He’s shifting some of his acreage, trying to stretch out the lifespan of his equipment and producing his own fertilizer. His children have also opened up a storefront where visitors can pick pumpkins and take hayrides in the fall. But Bell is still feeling the pinch.
You can’t possibly expect people to adjust to changing conditions. That’s absurd.
And 1000 acres. That’s a pretty small farm. I’m curious how much is tillable, how much is trees, CRP, left fallow…
Did you see the quality of that corn? A lot of NC farmers who plant such a wide variety of crops tend to be not serious – more like plant, walk away, sell.
Plant, as thin as possible
Don’t spray
Don’t fertilize
Claim federally insured crop insurance.
Buy new F450 king ranch.
Repeat.
And 1000 acres. That’s a pretty small farm.
Plenty of room for a data center.
Plenty of room for several data centers.
All checked in. After 6hrs of driving you’d think I’d want to walk around a bit and stretch my legs. My legs don’t like that.
That thing that never happens, happened again.
No widespread fraud.
It is a *threat* to move if they don’t get their titanic merger with WB.
They’ll get whatever they demand cuz LA isn’t gonna let them go and the talent won’t stand for it either.
I will bet anyone a moderate bottle of booze, that Paramount moves out of CA regardless of what happens with the merger.
I thought they went back home. But this travesty is just too important to delay!
Utterly fucking shameless
After the horrific assault on our country on Sept. 11, 2001, Congress came together to confront the failures that left our nation vulnerable and build a stronger homeland security system to prevent another attack. During his second term, President Donald Trump has dismantled and politicized our national security programs and federal law enforcement to such a degree that he is leaving us vulnerable to another large-scale terrorist attack.
——-
Twenty-five years after terrorists defeated a weak aviation security system to carry out the deadliest-ever attack on U.S. soil, the Trump administration is pushing to bring back that same flawed system by moving to privatize the Transportation Security Administration — an idea straight out of Project 2025. If our aviation security is privatized, security contractors would undoubtedly carve out profits by cutting elsewhere. Going back to the pre-9/11 model would lead to weaknesses in security screening — putting traveling Americans at risk solely so corporations could make a profit.
Nancy Pelosi signed that.
It is impossible to hate these soulless creatures enough.
We certainly wouldn’t want the national security apparatus that spent 5 years peddling known false oppo research as a pretext to surreptitiously surveil an elected president and substantially all of his inner circle whilst simultaneously declining to bring charges against either of his political opponents for admitted crimes to become politicized. No executive should be distracting our heroic national security employees from their tireless work keeping us safe from Catholics who attend the Latin mass and dads who raise their voice at a public school board meeting after having their daughter raped in the bathroom by a high school tranny.
The same agencies that knew a 9/11 was coming and didn’t do a fucking thing to prevent it. Let’s return to that.
Oh, also:
I was the 10%.
Bastards have my leatherman.
Landed in Minneapolis and they lost my bag.
First time that has ever happened to me in America.
Have to wait down here until 10 and then my bag will show up.
1. Check is in the mail.
2. Package is on the truck.
3. ……
But seriously, best of luck and hope it arrives.
Killing time in the Mall of America.
There are worse places to be stuck.
It wasn’t bad, had some really good ribs at Ciwbiy Jack’s.
I had heard it was huge, but didn’t get the scale until I saw an amusement oark with a couple roller coasters inside.
Now the wife and I are relaxing in the car until 10, then I get to drive almost 3 hours.
Cowboy Jacks
Typing on a phone sucks.
Ugh…
A whiskey flavored by an ungulate? Yuck. Probably still better than Ouzo though.
Made fantastic time on my Michigan sojourn for semi-licit medication, only 4.5 hours.
More importantly, apparently my background check has gone through, but they’re still waiting on the damn lab test. I called the science-y folk and they said it was still ‘in the lab.’ I feel like Colombo, waitin’ on them. Nothing has gone awry, it’s just a drawn out process. (For reasons unknown… ?) Mom was also confused by the background shit. She had to do one recently, with where she lived back to 1987, but didn’t care about her employment.
Tomorrow’s fun, 13yo is competing in a track event that finishes on the gridiron at Lucas Oil Stadium. I saw him do it last year, too. The teen snark is beginning to make its appearance, to my approval. (He’s been paying a lot of attention to me, recently. Also curious.)
“If you’re a regular drinker, you’re probably aware the martini and its variations dominate bar menus these days, but have you noticed it has also become downright ubiquitous as merch?”
…This person and I frequent very, very, different types of bars.
inorite
I watch “Bar Rescue” sometimes and marvel that these places have “menus” and “serve food”.
That is not the kind of bars I used to frequent.
