Basic margherita pizza with garden grown tomatoes.

The whole purpose of growing a garden is to provide fresh food, get some exercise in the fresh air, and generally feel good about yourself. There’s probably about two weeks left to tomato season. I’m up to ten quarts of sauce, and will probably get another four. And there’ still some slicers for pizza, caprese, etc. About half the yield of last year, but I’m still satisfied.

Links?

We almost lost him.

Maybe this had something to do with it.

Pics/video or it didn’t happen.

But I thought the whole world hated us? This is actually a big deal.

Petty on both sides, but still entertaining.

Still nothing about lizard people.

Uh, no.

The State of Washington is starting to resemble a death cult.

Oh look, more government.

Okay folks, that’s it for me. Tomato sauce is simmering and I’m throwing down a beef stew as well. Back to the kitchen. Peace out, Glibbies.

An ethics complaint signed under oath has been filed against Rep. Lauren Boebert over sexual relations between her and three members of her congressional staff.

    At the same time?

    Va-va-voom!

Left, right, it doesn’t matter. If you give most women power, they’re going to act like a whore.

      • Nephilium

It’s one of the things I really liked about the series Minx (fictional show about a faux Playgirl getting started by a feminist). The feminist editor behaved the same way she decried in men, sleeping with the models, treating underlings poorly, taking advantage of her position. This is countered by the character of her friend, who starts as a conservative married wife. The friend eventually gets involved in swinging (portrayed as ethical and willing by all participants), becomes friends with the models, and fits in with the outcast staff (gay photographer, sleazy pornographer, black capitalist woman, and ditzy nude model).

My misogyny has been on display a lot lately. For some reason people aren’t as taken back about that around here as much as when I criticize Israel. Well, I don’t even really criticize Israel. i just point out that we’re fighting their war for them. I understand entirely why Israel would want us to do that for them and why Netanyahu would do everything in his power to get it to happen. No hate needed for that.

But yea, my view of modern woman is pretty dim. Only thing I got is I view them as a reflection of where culture itself has gone more than anything else.

The green energy cult? See the Washington link.

  3. The Late P Brooks

“Today’s decision represents a direct rejection of the clearly expressed will of Washington voters,” Building Industry Association of Washington Executive Vice President Greg Lane said following the ruling, according to KUOW. “Nearly 2 million citizens voted in favor of Initiative 2066 because they believed families and businesses should retain the freedom to choose the energy source that best meets their needs.”

The court is duty bound to protect democracy from the voters.

    • rhywun

The voters are misinformed. We will give them an opportunity to vote the correct way next time.

    • Threedoor

I have to side with the WA supremes on this one.

      They usually get it wrong.

Requiring a gas company to hook up new development is a non starter.

Say I’m building in Waterville WA and the nearest gas supply is down the grade towards Wenatchee twenty miles away…

      • Threedoor

Granted I’m not sure if gas is available in Waterville but it’s my favorite little town in BFE Washington state so I’m using it as an example.

      • Plinker762

Meh, If you are going to be a public utility, you’d better serve all of the public. If they are a private utility, they should be able to discriminate as they desire.

      • Brochettaward

I’d echo the sentiment above about public utilities. They are granted quasi or limited monopolies where they operate. So fuck’em.

    • RAHeinlein

Was this initiative written incorrectly (i.e. not a single issue) on-purpose to negate the vote?

      • Plinker762

No, the Washington Supreme Court’s job is to ensure complete Democrat control over the state. Any initiative that goes against Team Blue will be found unconstitutional. The multiple subject interpretation is like the commerce clause.

Wa Dems know how to control the court. Judges are elected and as usual, the vast majority of judges are re-elected. About a year before their next election is due, a retiring judge will announce he/she is retiring so the governor can appoint an correct thinking judge, who will then be the incumbent during the next election.

He’s one of the original Las Vegas residency acts. He’s been there for many years.

Allegedly it’s not you that can have him but it’s him that can have you.

      Tippi Hedren moment?

      • rhywun

It really had to be seen in real life to get the full effect.

  6. Plinker762

Majority of Washington Supreme Court justices are up for election this year. There is a push to get more (WA)constitutionalist judges elected this year but doubt it will work. Team Blue need to keep control of the court because if the income tax repeal initiative is successful, the court will be instrumental in having the initiative declared null and void.

Where all these anti-Semites around here?!

If saying that we are fighting Israel’s war in Iran is anti-Semitic, I guess I’m guilty. But I have to say I feel pretty safe saying it when little Marco said as much publicly.

Last I’ll say on that shit for a while.

That looks almost exactly like the pizza I made last night. The only difference is I put a ton of basil, cubanella peppers, and thinly sliced spicy sausage on mine.

    Okay, it’s different. But fantastic.

WRT the Iran conflict, our ‘allies’ in the region have plenty of incentives to ensure that the mullahs don’t get a nuke.

    How involved are those allies?

If they’re not involved, this whole thing is yet another farce.

The only way to keep Iran in check, in my opinion, is if every neighboring country has guns pointed at the mullahs. Which is probably delusional to think that could ever happen.

From dedthred, it’s odd and pleasing Med Folk got in touch and I verified my amphetamine Rx. It is fun having a permission slip. I feel so adult, but naughty! But like ‘allowed naughty,’ slightly less fun.

I wonder how long that’ll take to get to work and for them to process whatever it is that they need to process. *quizzical face*

Will feel good to get back on a schedule. I quite, quite hope this work comes (fairly) naturally to me. Monotonous don’t bother me, and I’m glad that’s the biggest reason for turnover, rather than the ridiculous-sounding quotas.
*still quizzical, perhaps more determined face*

    The Chinese 3.5 star phenomenon.

I hadn’t heard of this ‘theory’ before, but I see it all the time when I go to look at reviews of restaurants. You’ll have mouthbreathers giving some place that actually makes real food in house a 1 out of 5 while praising some shitty chain place. Knocking the place because some part of their order was slightly off. Or they went there and didn’t get their asses kissed/balls fondled the way they like. And they’ll end their rant about service with some aside about how the fuck supposedly sucked too.

Capitalism in a lot of ways is pure democracy when left unfettered. You get the sort of businesses you support. More of what you incentivize. And a lot of people are just as dumb when it comes to where they shop or get food as they are in their choice of politicians.

    • Brochettaward

You gave me hand crafted food, but you didn’t give me enough ice in my drink and forgot the extra sauce on the side! HOPE YOU GO OUT OF BUSINESS YOU FUCKS!

I don’t know if there’s a culture I truly like. But I know I don’t like most Americans at this point.

    • Nephilium

I generally start with the 1 star reviews. That’s where you learn the most about a place, and occasionally the reviewer.
