It’s fall here in Manly Time, and the birch and maple trees are starting to turn. Idaho is every bit as pretty as the northeast when it comes to fall colors. However, it has been unseasonably warm. We’re forecast to be in the 80s for another week. The cabin is still open and I’m still harvesting tomatoes. We’ll see what winter brings this year, but it’s looking not good.
Links?
This is retarded. I hope she takes them for every penny she can get.
I don’t usually put a lot of stock in polls. This one is interesting, however. Sentiments are not what the media wants us to believe. And in the past, a 50/50 Republican/Democrat split for the midterms usually means Team Blue gets creamed. This year? I have no idea.
Now kill it dead with cleansing fire.
So much for background checks.
“Hey everybody! We’re still here, don’t forget about us.”
Okay, that’s good for me. We’re well into the silly season and I can’t wait for the election to be over. Then we will just return to our normal level of insanity. Peace out, Glibbies.
I happen to like Vivaldi.

Gotcha
Bos has two daughters, with a third due in January. At the grocery store, five items cost as much as a full cart once did. And on Wednesday, Bos and nearly 1,400 other people were laid off from their jobs at what had been the Navistar truck factory in southwestern Ohio.
The layoffs — occurring just three days before President Donald Trump’s rally on Saturday at a nearby high school — were large enough to basically erase an entire year of job growth in the greater Dayton, Ohio, area. And they are one reason why Bos, 30, plans to spend the final weeks before the November election canvassing votes for Democrats.
Asked how many times he had voted for Trump, Bos held up three tattooed fingers. But he said he’s done with the president.
Take that, Trump, you economy wrecker.
Buried in the story; the plant was sold, and will reopen.
Sure, Jan. 🙄
Strip steaks were $7.99/lb today.
Knowing that the place I work for is shutting down I sure as hell wouldn’t be eating and drinking out on my last day.
Big boos look like they could survive a few lean months. Maybe cut back on the tattoo and booze budget.
I’m supposed to feel sorry for union thugs?
No.
Things need to change in politics. So he’s going to work to re-elect a guy who was kicked out of office two years ago because he’s in the other major political party that has been out of power for all of 2 years.
New Hampshire has better colors but north Idaho has better winters.
My wife is predicting that we don’t have a winter again this year but next one is going to be a doozy.
Let’s hope so. Then again, the last El Nino we had no snow in the Valley but well above average in the mountains.
It’s been three dud winters up here.
We only had a couple days or measurable snow the last two years on the sledding hill.
Plenty of moisture but it was shifter to longer wetter late spring
More trips to McCall or Island Park I guess. I predict low snow because I bought a new turbo sled.
Don’t pull a Ken Block.
That reminds me; I need a new storm door.
Meanwhile, costs have kept climbing. Donnelly said she buys marked-down beef, pork and chicken and stows them in her freezer. She canceled her subscriptions to The Columbus Dispatch and The Washington Post newspapers, along with some streaming services.
Forced to cancel her subscription to the Washington Post! Where will she get her talking points?
It is well-known that the UAW and their commie leadership are strong Trump supporters.
@SMDH: “A kidnapper has won the right to stay in Britain under human rights laws after a judge found he could be mistreated in his native Kosovo for being Roma. Avdi Alija, 39, arrived illegally in the UK aged 14 and has been convicted of 50 criminal offences ranging from burglary and theft to cocaine possession and driving while drunk or high on drugs.
A first tier immigration tribunal in Newport, South Wales, heard he was part of a gang that kidnapped a man and forced him into a car at knifepoint in 2018. – Alija helped bundle the terrified victim into his bedsit, where he was held captive, assaulted and threatened with being stabbed and doused in boiling water if he refused to pay £50,000.
After four-and-a-half hours, the man managed to flee by kicking through a double-glazed window and jumping from a second-floor balcony into the courtyard below.” <– Way to go, Kidnapped Man, no snark. He needed several surgeries, tho.
Keeps getting stupider: "Alija was sentenced to nine years' imprisonment for false imprisonment and a further year for GBH. In March 2022, then home secretary Priti Patel ordered his deportation on the grounds that he posed a danger to the community."
Dude appealed, "citing the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), but this failed, with a first tier tribunal upholding Ms Patel's decision on March 31, 2025. The criminal appealed again, and his case was reheard on September 29 this year by immigration judge Ian Boyes. By this time, Alija had already been released from prison on licence."
Criminals keep getting caught and released. I'd wonder how long UK will put up with this, but I don't think there's any going back. Again, save for a Big Event to shock their People into action, but even then, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ How? They be fucked.
Britain can either leave the ECHR or be prepared for a small contingent of British men to lynch this guy and those like him.
“ECHR”
Yeah, it’s not just Britain that is fucked.
That’ll be replaced by Sharia courts soon enough.
Woe, woe, woe
Those are all legitimate reasons many people are sour on the economy right now, right?
But come on.
If you think this is worse than the Great Financial Crisis or the 1970s you need a swift kick to the pants. That’s a ridiculous stance to take.
I’m sure there are some young people who do feel this way because they need more life experience but there are others who obviously know better.
Now I’ll share with you my favorite reason for all-time lows in consumer sentiment — it’s a survey and they changed the methodology of the survey.
No way.
9% inflation in 2022.
Double that gets close to what it actually was.
In short, propaganda works.
Greasy Gav must be livid to be trailing the one candidate who might be more empty than he is.
Don’t worry. His gargantuan ego will carry him through those polling numbers.
Steps remaining –
1. Attach last fan.
2. Assemble Print Nozzle array holder
3. Assemble Print Nozzle x8
4. Install Print Nozzle x8
5. Install lid
6. Install spool holder posts.
7. Power on printer and see if firmware needs update
7b. Update Firmware
8. Calibrate printer components
9. Load filaments.
10. Test Print!
11. Scream when something is wrong that requires disassembling half the printer.
12. ???
13. Loss
Enumerating the remaining steps was supposed to encourage me because I’ve gotten so much done.
In the print version of the instructions I’d be on Page 131 of 169 Only I’m doing dual upgrades, so I’ve gotten 77 pages of that process done too.
n+1 = Profit!
(Sorry to hear it, unless you heard the *printer* scream. That’d be pretty cool. Be safe.)
I continue to make progress. I am unaware of any issues which would cause the sort of failure I’m afraid of.
I can get this done, I’m just worn out a bit given how long the process is.
That is depressing. You will find a way. I have not done much 3D printing but I have met people who obsess over the temperature and maybe that is causing issues.
You lot me.
My problem in printing is that the printer is still partially disassembled.
Spud: you a Vandals guy?
Negative. I’m a Broncos fan. But I will watch the occasional Vandals game.
If you haven’t watch the end of today’s game.
I’ll have to wait and grab highlights on YouTube.
Tje year I took classes up there I parked behind the kibbie dome so I could use the hill to push start my rig. In hindsight I should have spent the money on tuition and fuel to fix that Suburban up.
Criminals keep getting caught and released. I’d wonder how long UK will put up with this, but I don’t think there’s any going back.
If people like that start turning up dead in alleys and rivers, His Majesty’s Government will leave no stone unturned in the hunt for the vigilantes. No mercy will be shown.
+Chafed: “His Majesty’s Government will leave no stone unturned in the hunt for the vigilantes. No mercy will be shown.”
Yep. Worse, they’re used to being disarmed and helpless. It won’t happen, me fears. Folk’d have to get their Troubles 2.0 hats on, and the UK (and US, global) surveillance is far too powerful, nosy. The British seem too browbeaten to think of vigilantism ‘seriously.’
Dispiriting, it all is.
Depends on the cops. There was a time in Philly (late 60s-early 70s) where the cop next door told me they didn’t try to solve a lot of homicides where it was pretty obvious men in the neighborhood had finally gotten fed up and offed some scumbag thug.
+1 looking the other way
Depends on how “diverse” the cops are.
Mizzou vs Florida: Mizzou is putting the “Belt to Ass” as the kids say. Good times. Now to read the links.
…by favoring more expensive and environmentally destructive energy projects. OK, then.
#metoo
But I think this masterpiece got lost underneath the weight of The Four Seasons. And then Bach took it and made it even better.
Superb.
I had been listening to the Bach version since I taped it from my older brother when I was still in HS. I had no idea Vivaldi wrote it until several decades later.
Fug the Braves. And Dodgers too. Playoff baseball and thousands of empty seats in L.A.!
While back when pitchers hit, I’d never be pro AL, but! Of remaining teams:
1 / 2: White Sox /Rays — Three 100 loss-seasons in a row, fun story & Small market doing so well
3: Brewers: Small market team run extraordinarily well. Might as well get beat by the best, as a Cubs fan
4: Braves: I used to like ’em 2nd best so I mostly still do. (The 90s were fun, and Turner was brilliant to broadcast ’em.)
4: Cleveland: Nothing against ’em. Respect Jose Ramirez.
5: San Diego – I respect Machado to an odd extent? I really don’t like ’em.
6 / 7: Yanks then Dodgers. Go fuck yourself, both of yas. Fuck your history, NYC, and fuck your current $tretch, LA.
The Devil made flesh
However, advocates at Stand.Earth—a global nonprofit that’s been fighting for environmental protections in communities hosting data centers—told Ars that Amazon is the one being “misleading” by spreading “corporate propaganda.” Seemingly in crisis mode as billions of dollars in data center projects have been blocked nationwide, Amazon’s promised donations represent “a flailing attempt at damage control for the harm its data center build-out has already caused,” Stand.Earth said.
Most problematic, Stand.Earth suggested, is Amazon’s plan to back a power plant that experts expect will become the largest source of US climate pollution. Glaringly, Amazon’s data center commitments don’t mention the power plant and scarcely address pollution, apart from promising to exclusively rely on back-up generators that use the lowest possible emissions.
“For all the claims Amazon makes about investing in carbon-free energy, it conveniently leaves out that it is constructing the single-largest source of climate emissions in the United States in Pecos, Texas,” Stand.Earth said. “Communities will face 33 million tons of harmful air pollution every year—with the power plant using the same amount of energy needed to run more than 1.9 million homes.”
Amazon will enslave humanity and destroy Earth.
…exactly what they wanted to hear.
The comment section is as expected.
Too Local News: “BREAKING: DHS confirms to @FoxNews that 4 out of 11 (36%) alleged pedophiles arrested in a child sex sting operation in Hamilton County, IN are illegal aliens from four different countries. Police say the men thought they were communicating with young girls online, then drove to meet them for sex, but were met by undercover detectives instead and arrested. Per DHS, the illegal alien suspects include:
– El Hadji Babacar Ndiaye, a Senegalese illegal alien who was caught and released at the border in Lukeville, AZ by the Biden admin in September 2023.
-Lucky Philip Odoudo, a Nigerian illegal alien who entered the US as a gotaway at an unknown time and location.
– Filomeno Ricardo Flores Marin, a Mexican illegal alien who first entered the US illegally in Arizona 2002.
– David Josue Gomez-Posada, a Salvadoran illegal alien who first crossed into the US illegally as a juvenile in 2017.
– DHS says ICE placed detainers on all four men with local law enforcement.

This is my shocked face.

I mean, he’s an Islamocommunist but that is just a step too far.
Pull my finger?
Trying to make the place smell like the ME?
You don’t stink 3D, it’s just Lewiston.
Thankfully I’m about three or four miles south of the inversion as the crow flies.
I grew up not far from Lewiston Maine. It had a stinky paper mill too and up river from us was another pulp and paper mill using the sulfate process.
Boy, I bet there are some distraught MSU fans in Livingston tonight.
A kidnapper has won the right to stay in Britain under human rights laws after a judge found he could be mistreated in his native Kosovo for being Roma.
From his behavioral history, I’d guess he’d be “mistreated” for good reason.
Other than the usual crybabies at the UN, if someone finished what Mustache Guy started with the Roma back in the early forties, would anyone care? Some groups of people (I’ll put Somalis and Palestinians in with the gypsies) seem to exist solely to prey upon and vex the rest of humanity who only want to be left alone. But you’re not allowed to say that the world is better off without them, at least not in polite company.
And how cucked is the UK? Roma kid with fifty arrests gets to stay forever on the dole, while anyone who complains on X or Facebook would get a SWAT team showing up at his door to arrest him in front of his family for wrongthink… er, “causing offence.”
Every ‘Roma’ I see in the UK is just some trailer trash Chav.
Vivaldi is cool.
You brought up the silly season, so I’m going to paraphrase (change to my words) a line from Pink Floyds Us and Them:
It’s a battle of words, and most of them are lies.
Quoting Pink Floyd is always appreciated.
Maybe we should import some illiterate third worlders to close my tags.
Doing the jobs natives won’t
