Well, the Browns came crashing back down to Earth in spectacular fashion. It was such a bad beating it took Deshaun two days to realize how bad he got beat, meaning we get the Shadeur Sanders experience to look forward to. On the plus side, it looks like the Ravens managed to go lower than the Browns as they scramble for a QB that they haven’t broken yet. I’ve been trying to coach OMWC through the proper way to ramp up drinking to survive being a fan of a team that can’t even live up to the team that replaced them. He’s been rocking in the corner with a bottle of wine just repeating “Fag…” over and over.
Thankfully I don’t have to smell that corner.
In local news…
This could be interesting, but I don’t trust Ubisoft.
It took me a while to realize… this is this gaming generation’s closing of Origin Studios (also be EA).
Go ‘way… gaming.
I played the hell out of the first two Dune games, as well as the Crescent’s Hawk Revenge.
Everything old is new again. I’ve been waiting for brands to start flat out producing shows like they did back in the day.
Guys… it’s public knowledge, and who cares what you want to ban?
[This link intentionally left blank]
This should chum up some waters.
Damn it. I actually respect that statement to the reporter.
And people complain about PA and OH alcohol laws.
Did Emmanuel Lewis approve this?
Maybe some people should starve?
But that’s enough links for the day, so let’s get to the drink:
Last Word
- 1 part (0.75 oz) gin
- 1 part (0.75 oz) green Chartreuse
- 1 part (0.75 oz) Maraschino liqueur
- 1 part (0.75 oz) lime juice
Alright, this is an old pre-Prohibition cocktail, which languished until the craft cocktail boom, when people started digging out recipes from old books. Simple to make, everything goes into a shaker with ice, and shaken until chilled and combined, then strained into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a brandied cherry if you would like and enjoy.
With that, I leave you to the weekend, let’s go Browns and Falcons!

And people complain about PA and OH alcohol laws.
There is always Ocean City!
https://ocnjlocal.com/the-moral-compass-of-the-coast-why-ocean-city-remains-a-dry-town/
Aren’t there still some counties in southern states that are still dry?
Instead of drinking locally and walking home safely, Ocean City residents drive across the bridge to Somers Point, get tanked, and have a crash on the way home. Bootleggers and Baptists remain satisfied.
Longport is another option.
My family is related to the Somers as well.
Nah, they just stock up at Circle Liquors at the foot of the bridge and drive back home to get shitfaced.
The circle that’s no longer a circle.
Sad.
Yes, I believe TX still has several, but the workaround is to belong to a private social club, so all businesses that are in dry counties have you sign something having you join their free private club and then you can purchase alcohol.
Back when Ohio had dry counties, there was a country club that existed in one. Now, breweries are licensed by the state. And the state brewery license comes WITH a full liquor license. That state license worked even in the dry county. I never had the beer from that brewery (you needed membership to get in), but from everything I heard, it was the worst brewery in the state. Making everything from extract, and the legally required minimum to maintain their brewery license.
You’d be surprised how many dry counties (or towns) there still are, and they are all over the country.
I haven’t been following. How bad to the Falcons suck this year?
3-5, and in the division tied for the worst in the NFL (the AFC South has the Jaguars to balance the other three teams).
So, I haven’t missed anything.
kinnath:
Well… you missed something. Baker Mayfield won a shut out against the Falcons without a single completed pass. First time in my life for a team winning without completing a pass.
You’d think they would have made those remakes more compatible with the Deck.
EA games are generally not Deck compatible due to DRM, in these cases, I’ll guess control schemes. And looks like they got at least some of them as playable.
For the home brewers among us.
Can’t say I’ve heard of this brewery before.
The auction is in Ortonville on the East side of Michigan.

Imagine being proud to be a shitbag scammer with zero sense of shame.
I hope he gets arrested for it, and this his piece is used as evidence against him.
I couldn’t tell if it was real or scarcastic.
Threedoor:
If it’s satire, it’s missing the blow off/punch line at the end that tips it over into farce. Occam’s razor says it’s straight, and he thinks these are good life tips.
“I’m jealous of how much money I think that other person/company has. Therefore, they should have no constitutional rights.”
He also has “My Legendary Stepfather Is Dying. I Told Him to Rob a Bank and Ride His Last 3 Months Out in Jail”. I don’t know and I don’t think I care. Maybe he really is just an asshole.
Meh, same deal as Steal This Book.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steal_This_Book
There is nothing new under the sun, as the good book says.
I knew a fat anarchist comedian in Chicago. His stage name was Flabbie Hoffman.
Iron Law – people do what they think they can get away with.
After reading that article I am reconsidering my opposition to the death penalty.
I only Played Emperor Battle for Dune, and it has some of my stronger gaming memories. I think I mentioned the meatgrinder bloodbath skirmish during a random campaign battle on the overworld. I also had a playthrough get the heartplug ending when I was unprepared to attack a faction captial and ended up retreating. Apparently that’s a Harkonnen Game Over situation. I heard they had patched that cutscene out of later versions. If true, I am disappointed. It was on-brand for the faction.
Yes, I played Harkonnen. I tended to play the “bad guy” factions in westwood games – Nod, Soviets, Harkonnen, etc.
Feature, not bug. Research isn’t the point: the point is to have more hardcore leftist female academics in positions of power on campus (since the bad ideas of the ivory tower eventually percolate to government).
Take that, oligarchs!
Amendment 87, approved by Colorado voters in Tuesday’s election, will replace Colorado’s flat 4.4% state income tax with a graduated system featuring a top marginal rate of 8.4%.
The changes, scheduled to take effect January 1, could cost some Broncos players hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.
According to Mike Klis of 9NEWS, 52 of Denver’s 53 active players earn more than $1 million this season.
What’s a little collateral damage when you’re sticking it to the man?
Fools.
But they are putting the revenue to good use – see language from the ballot initiative below:
Shall state taxes be increased $2.7 billion annually, in order to increase or improve levels of public services, including K-12 public school education, health care, and early child care and education services
Also – it’s apparently NOT RIGHT that millionaires pay the same rate as TEACHERS!!!
It’s not right that millionaires pay the same rate as teachers.
Teachers should pay twice as much.
I wish I could vote myself a raise.
Our ballots are constantly littered with measures to increase this and that tax, mill levy, etc., for K-12 education. Every single election. Meanwhile, districts are closing schools due to lack of students. The other part is that Colorado waaay overenrolled folks onto Medicaid, and the bottom dropped out on the fed money train.
“What’s a little collateral damage when you’re sticking it to the man?”
There’s going to be a considerable number of folks opening their 401k statements next month and saying “What the fuck did I do? I’ve lost about 15 years worth of ‘Trump gas increases’ in just one month.”
Yes.
Some people should starve.
Crescent’s Hawk Revenge.
That was a great game.
Sore winner
Ohio’s Democratic Gov.-elect Amy Acton said Friday that she has “no intention” of speaking to Vivek Ramaswamy, her Republican opponent in the governor’s race, after he ran what she called a “terrible and despicable” ad featuring her estranged mother.
In her first TV interview on “CBS Mornings,” Acton was asked whether she had spoken to Ramaswamy since she defeated him in Tuesday’s election. Ramaswamy said during his concession speech that he called Acton and left her a message to congratulate her on her win.
“I have no intention of speaking to him,” Acton said. “I do believe that leaders’ words matter, and we need to hold folks accountable.”
Ramalama is undoubtedly a shitbag, but fuck you and the broom you rode in on.
How mature and professional of Doctor Amy.
When politicians say “folks” you know they are serious, just like Obama.
We should have a Folkmoble, a car for the commoners (automatic remote shutdown and self-driving to gulag intake included standard)
The car could be shaped like a bug.
Too bad she doesn’t mean accountable for all of the death and destruction she caused in Ohio.
So how bad is our
LieutenantGovernor-in-waiting going to be when she quits?Too bad she doesn’t mean accountable for all of the death and destruction she caused in Ohio.
Her intentions were pure. Her hands are clean.
My local did a “Sea Shanty Night” yesterday, led by a guy in a pirate costume. It has become very popular there.
I don’t mind a seafaring song or two, but three hours’ worth is a bit much.
I’m simply not one to get my shanties in a bunch.
We drove back to Chicago from Charleston, SC a couple nights ago and passed this on the interstate (plus several billboards with various pirate lingo for miles prior).
https://www.pirateslanding-nc.com/gallery
The shanties and nautical language kept us awake until we hit West Virginia.
Today in “who knew sending every midwit front-row girl to college would have an effect?”
The *real* downside is, once little Susie shows up on campus and realizes that college is hard, she changes her major to elementary education — but still believes that her credential is the same value as the aeronautical engineer grad’s.
And the aeronautical engineer wonders why some semi-literate college football player’s NIL made him a millionaire.
How many Psychology majors do we really need?
Alan Watts wrote about an American businessman who worked with an Indian tea plantation owner. The workers they hired worked until they had enough money and quit until they needed more. At harvest time, they had to pay double wages to get enough help. Neither one could understand why anyone, especially the poor, would value free time over more money. The American thought that maybe if they gave each worker a transistor radio, it would spur their desire for more luxuries. Typical American thinking about how technology can solve everything.
As for me, I’ve known for a long time that I don’t need a lot of money to survive or be happy, so I don’t worry too much about getting fired or finding a job. And since I’ve been fired before, I know it isn’t the end of the world. I also know how nice it is to do what you want all the time. So it produces a kind of apathy that I think employers detest. They want desperate people who will scramble to keep their jobs.
I’ll be marching in the veterans parade: https://parade4veterans.org/
I didn’t register, but I think they’ll let me march anyway. It’s about the only reason I have for getting out of bed tomorrow. I bought an American flag keffiyeh for the occasion. I think it’s worth reminding the public that this country has been at war in the Middle East for my entire adult life. There are many Forever War veterans now.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Forever_War
I found my own planet Middle Finger.
I can relate. Maybe I don’t work as hard as I “could”, but I work hard enough to be comfortable. Most of the people I see who put everything into work don’t seem very happy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Friday Funbags don’t take no shit from nobody.

This looks like it could be an interesting blog.
“LONDON (AP) — Collins Dictionary has named “mogging” — a slang word meaning to outshine someone or something — as its word of the year.”
I’m proud to say I’ve never seen that word used, spoken or written. It would require me to know what “mog” is, and I ain’t gonna. Having said that: “The term originally derived from AMOG (Alpha Male of the Group), an acronym used in 2010s pick-up artist and bodybuilding subcultures. It later spread through online “looksmaxxing” and gym communities before going mainstream among Gen Z and Gen Alpha.”
‘My’ generation’s are fucking dumb. See also: ‘My’ generation. (I really like the Who. Moon is a fantastic story, though an over the top (in a fun way) drummer. Entwhistle is band-changing.)
This should be very detrimental to their health.
When my previous (now retired) GP was urging me to avoid processed foods, even he made an exception for bacon because he’s not a monster.
“There’s no reason to celebrate bacon, according to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.”
This group of meddling scolds will be taken completely seriously by the media in other contexts, and treated as subject-matter experts.
