The wrestling world lost a good one. The Astros are on a tear! The Caps and Kings are both up 2-0 in their playoff series against a Canadian team. Dallas is up 2-1 on Colorado. And across the pond, Arsenal dropped points in a listless draw (on their part) against Crystal Palace and the league is all but in the bag for Liverpool now. Hooray! And that’s it for sports.
What an odd headline. Especially since what he opposes seems to be little more than racial discrimination that is at odds with federal law and recent Supreme Court decisions.
Oh, no. Anyway… I thought USAid was all about foreign aid. Now we’re finding out that it also employed tens of thousands of people domestically to study the impacts of the aid as well? What a scam. If I had more time, I’d love to look into what these companies named in the article actually did. Sadly, I don’t.
Good. Go after all of them. They earned it.
We should have been saying this for decades. The free ride should have never lasted this long.
Guess you can’t have your ice cream and eat it too. If they wanted to do both, they shouldn’t have sold out.
Same as it ever was. I’ve been hearing this slop for 30 years running. Come up with something new.
He’s gonna have to find a new job. Maybe the Cleveland Browns will hire him as a consultant.
Trouble in paradise. This is going to be a hilarious marriage.
Do these people ever go to class? I’m starting to wonder if this is even an institute of higher learning.
What a retarded law. Sounds like a violation of the first amendment to me.
Here’s a lovely, rocking tune. What a great band. And this one is pure magic. Enjoy them both.
And enjoy this lovely Thursday, dear friends.

“Trump also ordered the Education Department to root out efforts to ensure equity in discipline in the nation’s K-12 schools. Previous guidance from Democratic administrations directed schools not to disproportionately punish underrepresented minorities such as Black and Native American students. The administration says equity efforts amount to racial discrimination.”
That’s not what “disproportionately” means.
Punishing black kids the same as white kids for the same transgressions results in more black kids being punished than white kids. Therefore the left claims this as “disproportional” since black kids are punished disproportionally to their population.
It’s the same old bullshit “disparate impact” argument.
I wonder what “underrepresented” is even supposed to mean there. Underrepresented in what??
It’s almost like a buzzword salad of meaningless claptrap.
I’m guessing underrepresented in the population. As in black males only make up about 6% of the population. Although they do manage to account for about 50% of the violent crimes and murders, so they’re also over-achievers.
Crazy talk: Stop talking about black/white/whatever and punish people who break laws without regard to any of that. The problem of course has nothing to do with color and everything to do with culture, but we cant say that out loud, can we?
“I thought USAid was all about foreign aid.”
It isn’t. It never was. JFK started as an alternative to forward deterrence.
It is a money laundering operation for the radical left. Kill it. All o fit.
USAID wasn’t far left. John Bolton was in charge of it under Reagan. Most of the money labeled as going to woke or humanitarian causes actually went to propaganda and regime change.
https://news.grabien.com/story/john-bolton-reveals-he-received-a-usaid-hand-grenade-with-his-name-eng
Can’t it be both? Just a giant slush fund for people connected to the people currently in charge?
Oh, I’m sure there was plenty of fraud, but there is nothing particularly leftist about that.
USAID was left, it was progressive. It was using the power of government to force people into a pattern of behavior of their choosing. It’s just a matter of which progressives were in charge at the time. John Bolton is very much a progressive.
I guess you have a different definition of progressive than I do. Using the power of government to force people into a pattern of behavior of their choosing is hardly limited to the left.
Just a giant slush fund for people connected to the people currently in charge?
I think that’s all USAID has been.
Scott Horton mentions it several times in his book “Provoked”. At least since the fall of the USSR (where that book begins the story) USAID has been a tool of “promoting free and fair elections”, which translates to “initiating and/or supporting resistance movements against democratically elected leaders who might get along with Russia”.
“Join Fox News for access to this content”
No.
This is the correct answer.
“We should have been saying this for decades.”
Wasn’t Trump saying that back in the 90’s?
Trump also ordered the Education Department to root out efforts to ensure equity in discipline in the nation’s K-12 schools. Previous guidance from Democratic administrations directed schools not to disproportionately punish underrepresented minorities such as Black and Native American students.
Black boys have a problem with discipline in the government schools, but it isn’t under-representation.
Black boys shouldn’t be disciplined for acting up because it’s part of their culture.
That seems to be the Dem thinking, anyway.
White boys, however, should be drugged into submission.
Fuck you.
Eating meat should be reserved for the special elite class, not plebes like us.
“I must be off now. I’m flying to Paris for lunch at a 3-star Michelin restaurant.”
But, will you have time for a handi in Davos?
A guy named “Lenton” says don’t eat meat? Is this an AI generated story?
I’ve been hearing this slop for 30 years running. Come up with something new.
The warnings are what are keeping the crisis at bay.
How dare you!
Those who live in greenhouses shouldn’t throw tiger repellent stones?
Wait, I thought it was Turkish guns advertising in the Bay?
No, no! That was in the Bey.

Did Travon Martin and George Floyd even have jobs?
Well, I think Floyd sold drugs at some point.
He also did porn.
Is that the new choking porn I keep hearing about?
A group of protesters is planning to set up tent encampments on Columbia University campuses this week in protest of the war in Gaza, according to three people familiar with the planning and a recording of a meeting to plan the action shared with NBC News.
Either it’s almost finals week, or the weather in upper Manhattan is finally nice enough for camping again.
Embrace the power of “and”.
You know, Shpip, it’s The finals campdown!
We will teach our twisted speech
To the young believers
Working for the campdown
Are these really students?
When I was a student as USC, we were obviously issues student IDs. When a homeless bum decided the quad was a nice place to camp, the campus police politely asked to see student ID before escorting them to the edge of the campus.
Look at this primo OpSec by our Commandos For Justice!
But, if it’s too secure, how will they get the media coverage they crave? Obviously trusted outlets need to be informed.
Butterfly and Squirtle at the Circus?
Yep, a bunch of clowns.
New policies? Cuz they sure didn’t seem to care last year.
They need to ban masks.
I didn’t realize you’re a callow youth, Sloopy… (and yeah yeah… I know 4×20, I know!). It wasn’t as pervasive and annoying yet… but I’d go for at least 50 years that I can recall.
And he probably buys it hook, line and sinker… but my only mental response to these grifters…
You know my opinion… cut them off by leaving NATO (and the UN). What happens next… is up to them.
Yup… this happens to every company when the founders sell out / retire / die. Typically it is a skin suit by the left… but it can be “You’re not radical enough for us!” too.
I suspect they would be termed Company analysts, frankly.
I’m getting my degree in political science… maaaaan! We learn by being out there and DOING, maaaan! (Now where’s my check for my “grassroots effort”?)
That Tim Sandefur line from The Permission Society leaps to mind — “they’ve confiscated our rights and are selling them back to us” (with the bonus of making it difficult [impossible] for those they dislike of course… much like the perpetual NYS (and CA) gun permits for the hoi polloi…) Which is my long-winded way of saying “Yeah, true enough.”
My mom went to college in the 60’s for education. She still had most of the books on the shelves of the house, as a voracious reader in my youth, I read everything I could get my hands on. One thing I recall was an environmental book that was talking about how there was only 30 years of coal left, 40 years of oil left, and only 15 years of natural gas left (or something along those lines). It was also from the time that natural gas was the “green” energy of the time, while they lamented there wasn’t enough to fully switch over to.
And yes, this was when we were all going to freeze to death.
Yeah, the 1970s were unusually cold (much colder than the 1940s despite increasing levels of ‘greenhouse gasses’) and the big scare back then was the impending ice age.
Yep, peak oil. When I was a youth in high school in 1989, Global Warming ™ was the new thing, and I remember one of the science teachers coming to make a presentation about it, right after having come back from some conference. I also remember the anatomy teacher (I was the TA) rolling his eyes.
Not too long after that, I started working in a used bookstore, and seeing a bunch of titles gathering dust about The Coming Global Cooling, or some such. And, if you look around, you will see the ozone hole, how SST’s were going to destroy the climate, the population bomb, and so on, going all the way back to Morris and how industrialization was going to destroy everything, and that we needed to live a simple life of arts, and crafts. Hence that movements name. If you read Umberto Eco’s The Name of the Rose, a major side plot was millenarianism, or how the world was going to end because it had be over a thousand years since the birth of Christ. Same thing.
(Also, my mother went to college in the sixties to find a husband, which is why she has an MRS degree.)
(Also, my mother went to college in the sixties to find a husband, which is why she has an MRS degree.)
There were still women doing that in the 90s. Thinking back, I was thinking to myself, “Future gold digger.” I think I should have been less cynical.
During a member call on Thursday, DNC Chair Ken Martin is expected to announce a proposal to change the party’s rules to mandate all DNC officers stay neutral in all Democratic primaries
Considering how the DNC had a thumb (and both hands, and both ass cheeks) on the scale for Bill Clinton’s wife and Biden in ’16 and ’20, this is some delicious irony.
DNC & hypocrisy? Say it ain’t so.
Sounds like a violation of the first amendment to me.
Unfortunately second amendment jurisprudence has established that the court thinks it’s fine to require a government permit in order to exercise a constitutional right.
This seems like a simultaneous 1st and 2nd violation.
I’m surprised there isn’t a lawsuit. I guess California doesn’t have a active 2nd A organization. We have a very aggressive one in VA that sues any city or county at the drop of the hat. The city attorney gets a phone call first to repeal their ordnance and then the suit follows if they don’t comply. Even things like a no firearms sign at a dog park are pursued.
Not when you realize that the AP is yet another arm of the DNC.
In this case, their favorite weasel-word “equity” means more kids and teachers beaten up because reasons.
I thought of the AP the other day when a headline in my newsfeed was talking about increasing oil production in the “Gulf of Mexico”. I did check, it wasn’t the AP, but now my brain has those items linked.
“Similar billboards have been spotted in Vallejo and Emeryville, but the Oakland one may have run afoul of a 1992 city firearms dealer ordinance that requires a permit for any business that “advertises for sale, transfer, or lease, any firearm or ammunition.” That permit must be obtained from the chief of the Oakland Police Department, the ordinance said.”
Callback to yesterday. There are all sorts of local ordinances about signage and such.
There are all sorts of local ordinances about signage and such.
But in order to not run afoul of the first amendment they need to be content neutral.
“It’s content neutral. All firearms are treated equally.”
They aren’t content neutral in that you can advertise certain things but not others.
As written in the ordinance, Oakland reported an average of 32 residents being shot each month at the time and “a considerable proportion of the firearms used in violent crimes were obtained illegally from unlicensed firearms dealers.”
So the city decided that the violence was facilitated by person-to-person sales, and their reaction was to restrict advertising by licensed gun shops? Even for a place like Oakland, that’s
borderlineretarded.Nothing is too retarded for Oakland. When I was living in the Bay Area, I avoided it like the plague.

How Much Does Ice From Greenland Cost? $100 for Six Cubes
Entrepreneurs are hauling bergs from the Arctic island, betting there are enough people willing to pay up for an extra-chilled drink; $218 glass of scotch
https://www.wsj.com/science/environment/greenland-arctic-ice-dubai-trump-db2b4cae?st=XvrrcA&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
“There’s a sucker born every minute” is my first thought…. but people buy some stupid things some days.
They’re getting into the future growth industry of ice harvesting. What do you think they’re planning on using to cool their drinks when we’re all on renewable energy?
The should really just use Sugar Cubes if they are in Iceland.
There’s a tard born every minute…something like that. If someone’s willing to pay that kind of coin for ice it’s almost unethical to not take their money.
“extra-chilled”
I’m pretty sure the ice cubes from Greenland aren’t really colder than any others.
Fools and their money. Whatever.
Wait…I thought Greenland ice was essential for climate balance or something and these evil people are deliberately melting it? The oceans are never going to stop rising if this keeps up
Why not? People are willing to pay for Fiji Water.
“A Northern California private security firm known for raiding cannabis farms and clashing with environmental activists is now facing criminal charges after some of its agents violently removed a protester from a recent Republican town hall in Idaho.
The Coeur d’Alene City Attorney’s Office told SFGATE that five Lear Asset Management employees are facing charges stemming from the incident. CEO Paul Trouette was charged with four counts of misdemeanor battery, two counts of false imprisonment, and one count each for violating security uniform and duty regulations. The other four men face a mix of similar charges for their roles in the protester’s removal. A sixth man not affiliated with the security firm also faces charges.
The charges stem from a legislative town hall organized by the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee at Coeur d’Alene High School on Feb. 22. Video of the incident recorded by attendee Tonya Jean, obtained by SFGATE, shows three plainclothes operatives, later identified by police as Lear employees, descending on protester Teresa Borrenpohl. The men are seen grabbing her arms and legs and dragging her face‑down through the aisle, ignoring her repeated demands: “You refuse to identify yourselves. Who are you? Who are you.””
https://www.sfgate.com/northcoast/article/california-lear-security-idaho-faces-charges-20289287.php
WTF??
Wait.
Back up and explain why a private security firm is raiding cannabis farms.
Legal farms hire them to raid illegal farms.
From a quick Google search it looked like illegal grows on someone else’s timber land.
I find it ironic that the article is hyperventilating about accountability when they are already under more scrutiny than any government police or security force.
To get free drugs?
Current Dem strategy is to send loud screechers to town hall events forcing the Republicans to endure a heckler’s veto, cancel the event, cause a viral video of a protestor being dragged out by security or police or make it private (and thus they won’t be accountable to the “public”). Some have resorted to private security.
I really hope this is true, ‘cuz I’m about to jog down to the bank and pick up a fat stack of Vances.
It’s about time we had someone married to an Indian on currency.
Why, so they wont give back any change?
Whoever made that needs a sense of humor.
“Hogg, who rose to national prominence as a gun safety activist after he survived a school shooting in Parkland, Fla.”
Technically, I also survived that same shooting.
Hey I was 50 blocks away from the WTC complex on 9/11! It did make it so I had to spend the night in NYC, however.
With Hogg I’m always reminded of “The Andrea Doria (Seinfeld)”

lol
Dammit, I didn’t read the comments before I posted similar sentiment below.
I’d be willing to cut him some slack at the time. If I were 18 and some whack job blew away fellow students in the next building, I’d be pretty freaked (or if I was the parent of an 18 yo).
But he needs to stop trading on it.
Nothing “conscious” about conscious sedation. Interesting evening and went out with new folk. I even sang karaoke. (Muse – Our Time Is Running Out)
Now, I go to my day-long doc appointment for vocational rehab, testing and talking to see what skills I most resemble. This should be an interesting day.
I really hope the doc/staff/help is hot, cuz I am mighty ornery. Pleasurable release would not be a bad idea. She can assist me in whatever medical way she best sees fit. I’m sure I can fill her in and up to make the point. (She needs a lot of refills. Strange, that.)
I’ve had conscious sedation (most recently, a couple years ago for some eye surgery). I was conscious the whole time, which is super weird when somebody is scraping on your eyeball.
I was getting worried there for a second!

Europe…speaking of corrupt institutions….
Corporate wokism is an oxymoron isn’t it? Only the morons bought into it. It is fucking icecream. No more Ben and Jerry’s ? In a week no one will remember.
How much more before the Climate scam dies? Are we going to have to wait a generation before these fucking grifters shut up?
Ok, what did Schwab do and who did he piss off? He has always been a creepy pervert and this? Now? He did something….
Hogg…speaking of creepy perverts…..
Colombia U….so what you are saying is that they will all be gathered in one place?
All permit requirements, license, bans, restrictions, etc. save preventing individual felons or incompetents from arming themselves are crimes and the people writing, promoting and enforcing them are criminals.
“Colombia U….so what you are saying is that they will all be gathered in one place?”
I do hope La Migra does a sweep.
The climate grift never ends, it just changes every generation.
Peak everything and global cooling gave way to deforestation and global warming. When the hockey stick was proven to be bullshit, it became climate change – this is really clever because everything can be climate change. So we have another decade or so until the next iteration.
“NY Petco selling live egg-laying female chicks for $5.99 a pop in new ‘pilot program’ as egg price crisis continues”
https://nypost.com/2025/04/23/us-news/live-chick-sales-at-long-island-petco-will-cause-boom-in-abandoned-birds-activists-warn/
I thought chickens didn’t lay eggs unless you have a rooster?
I was under the impression that the hens will lay regardless, as the unfertilized eggs are the ones that make it to the table. You have the rooster so as to make the next generation of hens since they only last for so long.
^ hens lay regardless. Same with other poultry.
You need a bull (or AI) though for getting milk with cows. Several years ago, a family friend came by our farm and asked us if you can milk the bull. I told her of course, but it’s not going to be what you expect.
Damn… ChatGPT has really come a long way.
Who’s going to fund my research project to genetically engineer an egg-laying cow with the belly and back legs of a pig?
A chicken on every plot.
So egg prices aren’t crashing like I’ve been hearing for a few weeks?
Huh.
Propaganda exists on both sides. I have been hearing egg prices fell by half, or they are $2 a dozen. Here they went from $7 to $5. Better, but not the economic miracle some people are touting.
They were $2.99 a dozen last week.
I wondered if something like this existed and behold!
https://eggprices.org/national-data
Data from BLS, it claims.
You do not need a rooster. Hens will lay.
You can eat fertilized or unfertilized eggs. If they’re fertilized, no chicken will start to form until they’ve been at a constant temperature (whatever that is) for several days, so you won’t crack open an egg and find a half-formed chick.
As a note. Raising chickens is NOT a sound economic decision unless you have enough eggs to sell, and even then it’s more of a “maybe you can break even” sort of proposition.
you won’t crack open an egg and find a half-formed chick
maybe in the Philippines
Nothing worse than getting back to the hotel and finding out she’s only half a chick.
Depends on which half.

“Only after the Legislature adopted the law on pronouns did trouble arise. The law stated that when it comes to public schools, a person’s sex is an “immutable biological trait and that it is false to ascribe to a person a pronoun that does not correspond to such person’s sex.”
Yet another reminder this whole thing is two retards fighting.

Pussy Crystals is a solid band name or sophomore album.
I also dig “vajazzleing”.

Vajazzeling sounds like a person working at the MTV spinoff that only plays jazz.

Would it be any different if he bought a toy gun instead of making one out of soda cans?
My high school (private) had in the student handbook that we could be punished in school for behavior outside of school if we could be identified as students (which included wearing letter jackets and the like).
But harmless behavior?
Common Tater:
Yep, several seniors got detentions for smoking cigarettes, several students got detentions for being popped drinking at parties, several got expelled for teenage vandalism (turfing lawns and the like). If you fell below a C average (IIRC) for two semesters you were expelled as well. Big advantage to the private schools than the public ones.
Vandalism isn’t harmless.
Soda can sculpture is.
Up until the late 80’s or so, high schools allowed smoking outside.
Common Tater:
No, vandalism isn’t harmless, but it was another example of students getting expelled for activities off of school. Let he who has never thrown an egg, a roll of toilet paper, or committed petty vandalism against a hated authority figure cast the first stone.
So, at last, it is my turn.

When I did sex work I used to focus on being very present with clients up until the moment of sex, and then when it was time for sex, I’d say to myself, “time to turn off my body now” and then I’d just abandon myself and watch from a distance.
I thought I was so smart for this lol. Like, “ah, I alone have figured out how to access all this money. All the other girls are dumb and poor because they do not know how to simply turn off and then turn on again when it’s over.”
What I didn’t know is that you are never truly “off.” You go somewhere when you are off. And one day, when you want to be whole, all the things that happened when you were “off” want to come back to be part of that whole. And that’s a lot of experience to integrate all at once.

The WSJ ran another editorial indignant that Trump is pressuring Ukraine to accept a ceasefire but isn’t pressuring Russia. As far as I’m seeing, “pressure” means stop giving free equipment looted from American taxpayers. Why would we need to pressure Russia when we’re not giving them anything?
Also seeing another push to equate Ukraine with the botched Afghanistan withdrawal. They really want to make this our war.
A lot of people are under the delusion that

Funny, in my HS years we had zero school shootings, every boy had a knife and we had exactly zero stabbings. Fist fights, yeah, but stabbings? No.
I wonder how much of that is “we weren’t savages” and how much of that is “those of us who were savages got expelled before we got around to killing someone at school”
Not Adahn:
Based on what I heard from the public schools, much more the second.
Small rural school in the ’70’s. We were semi-civilized.
Lately I have thought about a cultural change with regards to violence that was very noticeable to me in the early ’80s. I think the loss of the WWII vets has something to do with it.
I haven’t thought it out enough to pin it down. Maybe it was just a local phenomena. I do remember that there were no school shootings and the idea that someone would bring a gun to school and shoot children was unthinkable.
I think a lot of non-gang related violence in schools, including school shooters, has to do with zero tolerance for fist fights. Fights were pressure valve for boys. Push someone too hard and they’re going to push back in a way that was mostly harmless to all parties. Now pushing back with fists gets kids expelled and felony charges.
SSD:
Good point. Zero tolerance was just becoming a thing as I was coming up through school.
And if a kid merely defends himself against blatant aggression, they both get in trouble because “you were both fighting”. Probably pressures kids to sit there and take the bullying rather than get in trouble, and that will aggravate any underlying psychological issues.
Heck, even in prison, they don’t get in trouble for self defense. The reports will say that “inmate ___ did not initiate the fight and only acted in self defense” and they are off the hook.
“Shannon Sharpe was quick to out his rape accuser and ex-girlfriend as an OnlyFans model when he was sued for $50 million earlier this week. Now, after denying those sexual assault allegations, an old clip of the NFL great appearing to describe sex with another OnlyFans model has gone viral….
The name Sharpe mentioned belongs to an OnlyFans model. However, she is not the Jane Doe accusing Sharpe of rape in the aforementioned Nevada lawsuit.”

Authorities have suspended the search for the Nimitz sailor who went missing on Guam.

How much does it cost every minute that ship sits there doing nothing? One sailor goes missing? That seems foolish. Sail on and hand off the search to the local base.
Sail on and hand off the search to the local base.
That is precisely what they did.
The ship left Monday, so they didn’t wait at all. The guy could have went AWOL, but they described search and rescue involving Coast Guard ships and Navy helicopters. I’m sure there is more to the story but they’ve got tight control of the information they let out.
It tipped over and he fell in?
See tipping points are REAL!
Someone needs to SEAL that so it doesn’t happen again.
Someone check on Richard Tideman… have to watch out when Nimitz crewmen are left behind….
The ship has definitely seen better days. There’s a distinct lack of rust and wear in 1980.

The White House has replaced the traditional ivy planter above the fireplace with a row of gold objects, a look that is getting attention from critics and raising questions about the image Trump is trying to project from the Oval Office.
NPR’s Tamara Keith, who has been analyzing photos and videos of the room, reported on All Things Considered that so far, two gold ornaments have been added to the marble fireplace where Trump meets world leaders. A gold FIFA World Cup trophy sits on a table next to his desk. Two side tables are supported by golden eagles, and “Trump 47” coasters, also gold, sit nearby.
According to Robin Givhan, senior critic-at-large at The Washington Post, the pieces were originally used for displaying desserts, tea cakes and bonbons, not exactly standard office decor.
“They’re not necessarily things that you would naturally see in an office,” Givhan said in an interview with NPR’s Morning Edition. “They have been part of the White House collection for years.”
The result, she said, is a visual clutter that breaks with the Oval Office’s traditionally restrained elegance. Givhan said that when the gilded items were first acquired, some members of Congress worried they signaled too much of an appreciation for the monarchy, far from the United States’ founding principles.
You can learn a lot from an interior decorator.
Obligatory.
And people say we should get rid of NPR.
“Trump Gets Two Scoops of Ice Cream” v. 2.0
“So much of [the new esthetic] seems to be situated around this idea of regalness,” Givhan added on Morning Edition. “Part of the power of the Oval Office has always come from the fact that it didn’t need all of these elements in order to convey authority. The authority came from the people and from democracy.”
We need more hokey “Aw, shucks, I’m just a humble public servant, Ma’am” role play.

“The original proposal, endorsed by Hochul and introduced by state Sen. James Skoufis, drew criticism from lawmakers who warned that it could be used to target protesters who wear masks to conceal their identities during demonstrations.”
https://thepostmillennial.com/kathy-hochul-abandons-plans-to-make-masked-harassment-a-crime
Protesters shouldn’t be concealing their identities during demonstrations.
You can have anonymous speech, anonymous press, but anonymous assembly doesn’t make sense. The whole point is that you showed up to protest. Don’t know who you are? Then your presence is meaningless.
It would eliminate fakes such as Patriot Front and all this astroturfed bullshit.
Is the contention that protesting is harassment?
I believe wearing a mask is a first amendment right. Now, it does tell me you don’t have the courage of your convictions, but that is neither here nor there.
You can make an argument that it’s expression, and you couldn’t prohibit religious “masks”, but is concealing your identity speech?
Common Tater:
Pseudonymous and anonymous flyers were a big deal back in the day. I would say that the right to free speech includes a right to anonymous speech.
“free speech includes a right to anonymous speech”
I already wrote that.
5:15 is possibly the best Who song, but they got so many great ones it is tough to pick a fav.
That AP article uses one of the favorite tactics of the left of conflating language, in this case “disproportionately” in regards to disciplining school kids. They had a few year run there of doing the same with criminal behavior and how races were also “disproportionately” punished. It helped get a lot of people killed, injured and stolen from, but of course that will be swept under the rug.
I heard this nonsense from the pulpit one Sunday. Seems the prison population is disproportionally black? I later asked the pastor if we needed to stop arresting arsonists (disproportionally white males) in order to correct that “flaw” too? I was told “I didn’t understand the issue.”
It is an attempt to make an action (racism) a result (disparities). It has fooled a lot of people.
Are we allowed to say this anymore?

It’s a really big story
President Donald Trump is putting his “touches” on the White House with new flagpoles, new artwork, an overhaul of the Oval Office decor and possibly covering up the lawn in the Rose Garden.
Trump, a former real estate developer and hotelier, said Wednesday that he’s adding two “beautiful” flagpoles to the grounds to fly the American flag in about a week.
The Republican president recently hung new artworks featuring himself, including a rendering of him with his fist raised after last year’s attempted assassination in Pennsylvania. He has redecorated the Oval Office by adding portraits of all of his predecessors, a wall-mounted copy of the Declaration of Independence that is shielded by dark drapes and many golden accents.
Trump has also talked about paving over the lawn in the Kennedy-era Rose Garden.
Is he going to turn the rose garden into a burnout pit?
Is he going to get the guy from Camping World to sponsor his new flags?
All 44 of them? There’s that much space on the walls?
I read they’re just adding a concrete pad in the Rose Garden to cover a patch of grass where the press stands, that tends to get muddy.

I’m amazed it makes sense to centralize this so much as compared to producing in each of the countries where it is sold.

Guinness does something similar with their beer as well. Basically making a liquid malt extract that can be added to warm water to make wort for fermentation.

The Army has suspended a Wisconsin training base’s first female commander after discovering portraits of President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had been flipped around to face a wall.
The Army has posted an undated statement on Fort McCoy’s website saying Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez has been suspended as the base’s garrison commander. The statement said the suspension isn’t related to any misconduct but provided no other details, saying the matter was under review.
The Department of Defense on April 14 posted photos on X showing portraits of Trump and Hegseth on the base’s chain of command wall had been turned to face the wall, along with photos showing that they had been flipped back to face the corridor.

Anyone want to start a pool on when the Blaine city council has to start bailing out all the new hotels and restaurants?
That is one of my favorite rinks, and I’ll be there in about 6 weeks. We do support the local economy, but not THAT much.
My first favorite rink is in Tampa, mostly because there are hotels sharing a parking lot and we don’t have to load up wheelchairs and gear every time there’s a game. If they put some affordable hotels and some restaurants near the rink in Blaine, that would be awesome.
You’re back in MN right? The tournament is May 29 – June 1 this year. Hopefully my team doesn’t shit the bed again.

During a member call on Thursday, DNC Chair Ken Martin is expected to announce a proposal to change the party’s rules to mandate all DNC officers stay neutral in all Democratic primaries, according to a person directly familiar with the plan and granted anonymity to describe private discussions. The move comes after Hogg pledged last week to spend millions of dollars funding challenges to “asleep-at-the-wheel” Democrats in primaries, igniting a firestorm inside the DNC.
The NH GOP has a similar rule about NH GOP officials being neutral during the primary. It’s quietly ignored from what I understand in order help out the right people.
I guess Hogg is backing the wrong people.

Air in the U.S. has gotten cleaner for decades, adding years to people’s lives and preventing millions of asthma attacks, but nearly half of Americans still live with unhealthy air pollution, a new report finds.
The report comes as the Trump administration is considering rolling back some key air quality regulations.
