IFLA: The “Way Too Busy” Edition of the Horoscope for the Week of July 6

by | Jul 6, 2025 | IFLA | 27 comments

I hope everyone had a sufficiently pryotechnical day of freedom. I really do miss home fireworks, and I REALLY dislike the scorn for them that seems to be common around here. I literally heard a radio ad discouraging people from using sparklers (granted, the wire gets hot AF — we always had a water bucket to drop them into as a kid).

Anyway, that’s not why you’re reading this. You’re reading this because it’s posted.

This is a good week for women, particularly the first two days. Then on Wednesday we get one of those stereotypically ambivalent alignments that either means the end of a relationship or an ending that goes as well as it possibly could have. The rest of the week is uneventful celestially speaking.

In honor of armed uprisings.

This week’s card have two indicating “roguery.”

Cancer: Knight of Cups – Arrival, approach, advances, proposition, demeanor, invitation, incitement, proselytizer, beer run.

Leo: 2 of Swords – Imposture, falsehood, duplicity, disloyalty.

Virgo: 4 of Cups – Weariness, disgust, aversion, imaginary vexations, boredom, also indicates the ability to resist a temptingly presented but bad offer.

Libra: King of Coins – Valor, realizing intelligence, business an intellectual aptitude.

Scorpio: 10 of Swords – Advantage, profit, success, favor, but none of these are permanent; power and authority, the kind of fame that brings trouble.

Sagittarius: King of Cups reversed – Dishonest, double-dealing man; roguery, exaction, injustice, vice, scandal, pillage, considerable loss.

Capricorn: Page of Cups – News, message; application, reflection, meditation.

Aquarius: 3 of Swords reversed – Mental alienation, error, loss, distraction, disorder, confusion.

Pisces: The Magician – Skill, diplomacy, address, subtlety, sickness, pain, loss, disaster, snares of enemies, self-confidence, will.

Taurus: Judgement reversed – Weakness, pusillanimity, simplicity, deliberation, decision, sentence.

Gemini: The Hermit – Prudence, circumspection, treason, dissimulation, roguery, corruption.

Linked it before, but I’m in that kind of mood

    “SUCCESS”

Gov. Kathy Hochul and the MTA on Saturday touted congestion pricing as a “huge success,” saying 67,000 fewer vehicles are entering Lower Manhattan each day, while mass transit ridership is up across the board.

The program is also on track to reap the forecasted $500 million in revenue in 2025, allowing the MTA to move forward with $15 billion in improvements to subways, buses, and the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad systems, officials said.

We have bent the peasants to our will.

    • Suthenboy

Guess what? I dont believe a word of that.

What they are track for is being a third world shithole.

      • R.J.

Yeah. I can tell you, ridership is not even close to the exodus of cars. Businesses that could move left. That’s what really happened.

    • rhywun

The billion a year they are claiming isn’t even enough to cover the fare theft that the city chooses to ignore. And yeah, it’s not gonna cover any of the latest five-year subway plan. What is going to happen instead of a repeat of the seventies “deferred maintenance”. I hope people like graffiti cuz it’s coming back.

      • JaimeRoberto (carnitas/spicy salsa)

“isn’t even enough to cover the fare theft that the city chooses to ignore”. Just lie back and think of social justice.

      • Threedoor

That’s called local flavor, art is good.

  7. The Late P Brooks

“Six months in, it’s clear: congestion pricing has been a huge success, making life in New York better,” Hochul said in a statement.

    You can’t argue with that.

  8. DEG

    Imposture, falsehood, duplicity, disloyalty.

    Sufficiently shitty.

    • PutridMeat

Sure, but enough about the Hochul article, what about your horoscope?

In my parts NOAA/state/county have been “working” on those maps for the last 25 years.

My city just released new flood maps. To the surprise of absolutely no one, the floody areas have been greatly expanded despite massive flood measures that were taken in the 80s. My apartment building sits in one such area. I have seen a couple titanic rains in the last couple years but nothing that came close to flooding the creek we sit on.

Can’t wait for the titanic rent increases, though. I wonder what all the eco-hippies are going to say to that.

    • Threedoor

Around here it’s assumed that it’s to be used for state and local land grabs.

      • Threedoor

        And the denial of permitting.
And transfer of land to the local Indian tribe.

I’m not 100% in the the ‘conspiracy’ idea but mostly.

    • Threedoor

It was already used for a multi million dollar bridge replacement on a road that lead past one particular county commissioners house.

Said road services a population of about 50 people.

      • UnCivilServant

I have never seen a road fixed so fast as the one leading to the State Campus where the DoT offices are.

  10. Rebel Scum

Mental alienation, error, loss, distraction, disorder, confusion.

So you are saying I am going to meet and become involved with a woman.

  11. Gender Traitor

the kind of fame that brings trouble.

I can never decide whether I’d rather be infamous or notorious. 🤔

      No love for ignominious?

Duran Duran didn’t do a song about being infamous.
