That’s all I got for today. I’ll leave you with a song and move along with my day.

I don’t even think they should debank suspected criminals.
Until Public accommodation laws are overturned, banks shouldn’t be debanking anyone.
I would tend to agree — and I also think most (all?) of the “money laundering” regulations that just make things difficult for everyone (structuring? Prison! Trying to avoid structuring? Asset forfeiture and maybe prison! Oh… and we want records of all your transactions now… for
taxing you up the assthe children!) should be stricken.Way too big a barrier to entry for basic finances, way too much overhead that causes cost and drag on the private sector, way too much power on the side of the regulators. Tear the whole rotten structure down… I don’t care if a few criminals move their money a tad easier.
Then for bonus points… asset forfeiture as long as I’m dreaming.
Most of the money laundering is because drugs, which should be legal in the first place.
Oh… and at least for UberBank auf Amerika… I sincerely doubt they needed much pressure. They seem more than eager to push their politics where they can. Not as certain of the other banks since I only am stuck dealing with that particular one….
I’m unclear why people even use B of A, given their reputation.
Are there that few choices elsewhere? We’re lousy with options here.
The tin pot monkeys have openly stated their disdain for the constitution. Who was it that said do away with the constitution altogether? This debunking business is a taking and blatant violation of the fifth amendment.
I see Creepy Tim has recently called for the abolishment of the electoral college but someone else…maybe him or Harris….has called for just ditching the constitution and starting over.
“Kristi Noem said the president requested the color change, noting that black paint would absorb heat and make the barrier harder to climb.”

That would be rather a wiley strategy — worthy of a soooper genius indeed.

Dumb idea.

Clearances should automatically revoke when a person leaves a role requiring one, even if it’s moving to a new role requiring one wher ethey would have to recertify.
Propaganda suppliers do not need clearances – they lie regardless.
Agrees. That blew my mind. In private industry your credentials are revoked in 24 hours from departure.
Got to grease the axle of that revolving door.
24 hours? Past three roles I’ve been in, the credentials are deactivated either when you give notice, or as part of the exit interview.
Getting read off and read on when changing sponsoring organizations is annoying but the proper way.
Yeah- the steel mill I worked at always had production issues largely due to communications between various departments. But I’ve never seen anything move with such precision and efficiency as HR when someone left or was let go. Once the decision was made they were immediately unpersoned. Badges didn’t work, no email, no cell phone, no VPN etc.
The last place I worked gave a 2 week displacement bonus when anyone was fired or gave notice and terminated them immediately. Disgruntled employees can do a lot of harm, morale wise, etc.
I always did the same thing 4×20. It keeps everyone happy. When I had to close a location, I would do it a week or two ahead of schedule, and pay out the time I had originally stated. Again, keeps everyone happy.
But, if I was cancelling a vendor, I would withhold payment until all operations with them ceased. Not everyone was happy with that, but everyone I needed to worry about was.
It’s an hour or less at my employer – and it isn’t like we’re some super secure government facility.
Clearances in DC are mostly about social standing, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to revoke all of them, for everyone, until they schedule and complete another lifestyle polygraph. That will definitely separate the sheep from the goats…
Social standing of anyone in DC is lower than dog shit, revoke them all and don’t reissue.
Government security clearances are long lasting.
Guys I. The Army will get them depending on job and usually around E6.
Then they move onto a GS or post office job that requires a clearance. It’s an employment program.

Getting a job on the campus of Texas A&M was kind of brain-breaking. It was the first time I’d been at a college that was right-wing. And it wasn’t just a little bit reactionary either.

Is it so that the walls will be too hot to climb?

You are all forgetting another factor of deterrant – Stake the bodies anyone killed trying to cross in the minefield in front of the first wall.
WTF:
May I offer some suggestions as to the tools?
I witnessed this in England. I think they cemented them first, then broke them. I remember that the bottles had modern logos, so it wasn’t some relic of the 19thC.
Stake the bodies anyone killed trying to cross in the minefield in front of the first wall.

House committee to make Epstein files public
Do they actually have the files, or are they only going to issue an easily-ignored order to release the files?
Quick – a symbolic gesture that will have 15 seconds of relevance in the media stream!
I’m sure there are some “files”, but pretty sure they are not the “files” people are expecting.
““There are many records in DOJ’s custody, and it will take the Department time to produce all the records and ensure the identification of victims and any child sexual abuse material are redacted,” Comer said in a statement. “I appreciate the Trump Administration’s commitment to transparency and efforts to provide the American people with information about this matter.”
Is keeping their names secret necessary? What about the names of the abusers?
Are you still talking about…Jeffrey Epstein? People have been talking about this guy for years!
The names of the abusers must be redacted so the fedgov can maintain kompromat on them to control certain people.
Good… but still of the position that clearances should be revoked in general faster. If you retire / change jobs / no longer need to know — your clearance should immediately be yoinked. Of course, we should only classify stuff that actually warrants it — not everything by default or what might annoy us politically…. again, as long as I’m dreaming and everything.
We must have state secrets that only the state can know about otherwise people might find out how incompetent the state is, and that would be terrible.
“Radioactive Shrimp” is the name of my new punk rock band.

No shit?
Blue cities lie about their education statistics and graduate illiterate students from high school. Why would anybody trust their crime statistics??
Hell, quite a few cities don’t even bother reporting their crime stats.
It’s racist to hold minority kids to standards. It’s racist to jail criminals. Besides the illiterate criminal kids mostly just prey on minorities so what does it matter, all the important right thinking people live in gated communities.
I would rather live in a gated country where the citizens can leave their doors unlocked.
I heard on the radio today a DC cop telling how the brass downgraded and mis-reported crimes to make the stats better. He said whenever there was a violent felony committed (assault, stabbing, etc.) if the victim wasn’t cooperative, which happened quite often, they were told to report it as an “Injury Transportation”, which obviously isn’t a crime.
I have a feeling that we are going to find out that the reality is worse than we even suspect.
The rewards they get from lying about everything are just too tempting, so the lies get more and more outrageous.
Yes Rhy.
Aside from political reasons there are strong financial incentives to lie their asses off about every statistic. Govt. numbers are garbage across the board.
The third or fourth season of The Wire laid that out pretty good. Tell the cops to chase certain types of crimes and punish/reward how the stats proceed.
The Stats drive the train, rather than report on how you’re actually doing.
“Dr. Paul Thomas, an Oregon doctor and one of the plaintiffs, had his medical license suspended after publishing a study that found vaccinated children in his practice had higher rates of many chronic illnesses. The study has since been retracted.
Another plaintiff, Dr. Kenneth Stoller, now a Montana resident, saw California revoke his license after he used genetic markers to identify children at risk of side effects if vaccinated and issued medical exemptions based on those findings, according to the suit.”
That sounds absurd. So is giving newborns Hep B vaccines.

I think they’re giving that to pre-teens. Well, that’s what the #$@% commercial about it that airs dozens of times a day says.
That shot must be crazy profitable.
It’s on the recommended newborn schedule.
That’s nuts. I make fun of the parents in that commercial who are “protecting” their sexually-active toddlers.
Actually just heard about this being done to newborns this past weekend from my sister in healthcare. It’s crazy what we’re pushing into babies now.
My son got something like 7 childhood vaccinations. I can’t believe the bullshit that the recommended schedule for my grandson includes.
I’ve been low-key discomfited about whether or not anybody asked me for consent to vax my babies straight out of the vagina. I’ve refused certain vaccines for them, so I can’t think I would’ve consented to one upon birth.
I mean, they’re 22 and 19 and have their shit together far more than I did at that age, so obviously no harm, no foul, but the fact that I don’t remember if they ASKED makes me twitchy.
(They would have asked for my consent during the prenatal process, not while I was lying there while they took Apgars.)
Reason #5006 I’m glad I don’t live in a city… hopefully I would notice if the state / county wanted to plunk one of these near my property (and said property has enough space that hopefully I wouldn’t immediately go up in flames.
Yay Green Incentives and denial of basic physics and chemistry! What can go wrong?
The biggest denial of basic chemistry is the spraying of water on lithium. When are we going to stop doing that? I know I wasn’t the only one present in chemistry 101 that day.
“My children go to a Zionist Jewish summer camp. It’s the kind of place that instills pride in Jewish identity and love for Israel while giving kids the normal joys of camp: canoeing, hiking, and endless games of soccer….
During a live-streamed ceremony, paragliders appeared over the campus. They swooped low, and panic rippled through the crowd. For most American campers, it was confusing. For the Israeli staff and campers, many of them children directly impacted by the October 7th terror attacks near Gaza, the sight was terrifying….
The camp had fundraised to bring dozens of these traumatized Israeli children to safety for the summer. For them, seeing paragliders overhead was not a quirky airshow, it was the beginning of another attack.”

“You are calling yourself a k–e, you know what you are. You know what you are better than me. You are a corrupt politician with a daughter in the IDF that went there to kill, and has killed maybe in friendly fire because the Israeli soldiers kill each other all the time, and you know very well,” one of his neighbors, Anna Bouyzk, insisted as they argued over the meaning of the Jewish slur….
Bouyzk later doubled down and told the outlet that she had no qualms about lobbing the detestable slur at David.

From the previous thread re: kiddie rebellion
My parents desperately tried to get me to respect authority. Recently (in the 21st C at least) my elementary school principal died and my mother found out about it and went on a rant, telling me the secret she had been keeping for 40 years:
When I was… seven? Eight? Who knows? Probably eight though. I had committed some infraction that was punished by paddling. I did not want to be paddled. So when they left me alone while they went to notify my parents I made a break for it and got a few blocks before the pack of bus drivers caught up to me and bodily hauled me back *yakety sax plays in the background* Obviously I was present for all of this. I was also present for the beating which followed. What I was not present for and had no knowledge of, was the lawsuit that was filed that resulted in the school district agreeing never to inflict corporal punishment on me ever again, and that they would pay for the hospital bill that resulted from the… excessively rageful paddling.
My parents let me believe that swats were still on the table. I did receive swats once more for a fight in middle school, and the assistant coach that administered them vanished afterwards, but I had no reason to assume that there was anything related between the two incidents.
It was my interactions with nuns that caused me to break from the Catholic Church.
My interactions with the clergy caused me similar.
That is interesting. So the lack of discipline in schools is all your fault?
I keed! I was also paddled a number of times. I am here, commenting on Glibs so I am not sure it changed my behavior.
I went to a wonderfully progressive California grade school, right across the street from the college in a college town. So, no paddling, nothing of that sort, just a lot of introspective talking too. None of which worked, at least not on me.
Still a truant, still a prankster, still an underachiever. Right until I barely scratched out a graduation from high school.
I was a Catholic school kid, as were my parents. I got no shelter or sympathy from the ruler to the hands from my parents. Yet I was still a mischievous smart-ass. Some kids are slow learners.
“A woman has accused the Kentucky judge shot dead in his chambers of running a sex ring from his office, coercing girls into ‘wild sex parties’ in exchange for keeping them out of jail.
District Judge Kevin Mullins, 54, was killed while in his chambers at Letcher County Circuit Court in September of 2024, allegedly at the hands Letcher County Sheriff Shawn M. ‘Mickey’ Stines – his close friend.
Since the fatal shooting, disturbing claims have emerged about Mullins – including one witness who told police he ran his chambers ‘like a brothel’ and was seen having sex with a ‘girl’ inside the office in Whitesburg, around 140 miles southeast of Lexington.”

Letcher County?
Yeah. Letcher county. I am fairly certain I am living in a simulation and the person who wrote the program read a lot of Dickens. I see this kind of thing too much for it to be coincidence.
I am skeptical it is that easy to extort women out of their panties. Maybe a few but at some point….maybe even just one….someone is going to complain publicly.
Really? I would think it would be easy for someone with that power to exploit troubled women/girls who are just trying to stay out of jail. Who would people believe, a judge or a young woman who’s been in and out of jail a few times?
From the article: “In the interview, Adams explained that, out of fear of the powerful legal system and the threat of Child Protective Services disrupting her life, she felt powerless to say no to Mullins.”
That was my first thought, too.

They are already what we used to call ‘sliders’. If they take out more meat they will have to advertise as a vegetarian restaurant.
Big Mac meals that climbed to $18 in some places.”
Gee, I wonder if the “some places” had $15-$20 minimum wage laws?
IIRC the “some places” were highway rest stops.
But yes, I believe the whole fast-food model is in its death throes. Thank your nearest Democrat for that.
It’s gotten to the point that low-end sit-down places like Chili’s and Applebee’s are cheaper for a burger and fries, since they mostly make their money on drinks.
Yeah someone said that the other day & the only explanation I can come up with is that the labor costs for fast-food are deliberately higher because Democrats want them that way.
I almost feel sorry for the workers at Chilis et al. who aren’t part of the sainted class of fast-food workers that the Dems pretend to care about. (Right up until they are all put out of work.)

No names are mentioned.
Yeah, no names. How many of the twinks voted not-commie?
Also I haven’t heard R’s ‘thundering’ about family values for 30 years.
Meh. Getting it out there so that there might be some demand for the names is a reasonable tactic to maximize one’s blackmail attempt.
Beat me to it. Only a few talk about family values. Painting with a broad brush is what journalists do.
That was my first thought too.
As always, the Dems are stuck in 1955.
I started to mention that as well. Yes, stuck in ’55 AND lying their asses off. They never ever, argue in good faith about anything.
I see the Dems are going to their trusty old dirty tricks playbook, with evidence-free sexual misconduct allegations.
I remarked early this morning that given the architects of our modern academia we should not be surprised at what we are seeing.
Derp replied with this gem:
This quote from Rockefeller chum Frederick T Gates comes to mind:
***
‘In our dreams we have limitless resources and the people yield themselves with perfect docility to our moulding hand. The present education conventions made from our minds and unhampered by tradition we work our own good will upon a grateful and responsive rural folk.
We shall not try to make these people or any of their children into philosophers or men of learning or of science. We have not to raise up from among them authors, editors, poets or men of letters. We shall not search for embryo great artists, painters, musicians, nor shall we cherish even the humbler ambition to raise up from among them lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen, of whom we now have ample supply.
The task which we set before ourselves is a very simple as well as a very beautiful one, to train these people as we find them to a perfectly ideal life just where they are.‘”
Just let that sink in. That is not an excerpt from some fictional dystopian novel. It is not a parody of evil. Too many people with power really do believe they are made of finer clay. It is Dunning-Krueger on a staggering scale.
“You will own nothing and be happy.”
9 Beers and 9 Hot Dogs in 9 Innings? Challenge Accepted.
https://www.wsj.com/lifestyle/9-beers-9-hot-dogs-9-innings-02187ce5?st=1QfBvy&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
I’m sitting here discussing this with a younger coworker. He said a group of his friends attempted this at home because it’s like $200 worth of concessions. They all succeeded on the beers, but about 50% folded after 5 hotdogs.
I would not be able to choke down nine beers in a night.
Maybe when I was in my twenties. Not anymore.
Assuming a 12 oz beer, that is slightly less than a gallon.
Ignoring the unpalatable nature of beer, just fluid volume would be marginal and depend on how much I’d already consumed that day. It wouldn’t be all at once, but even distributed through the game, I’d have trouble even if it were just water.
Oh I am not debating it would be tough. You’d be sick for days afterwards.
Do something light like Miller High Life and it’s doable. I couldn’t do 9 real beers though. Dogs with or without buns? I could do 9 unless dogs, even though it seems a little gay, NTTAWWT.
Depends on the beer, a light lager or a kolsch. A beer an inning is easy.
Talking about an imperial stout, sour, or DIPA… then things can get rough.
Baseball game is around three hours? So one beer every 20 minutes? I could easily do that with the lawnmower beer they sell at ballparks. Not the hotdogs though.
I don’t drink at concerts or ball games. Besides the price, It’s usually a bit of an ordeal for me to get to a bathroom, and there’s usually a wait for the lone handicapped stall. So I plan accordingly.
/Probably TMI
I could down 9 beers easily but I would not be feeling well the nex day. Once I hit 60 drinking more than 4 beers or 2 stiff drinks brings on an atrocious hangover – the kind that makes you want to swear off ever drinking again. For that reason I prefer cannabis.
One time a buddy of mine came over wasted, we counted the beers left in the box.
He had had 19 beers and three shots that night.
Guy weighs about 125 pounds.
In my early days of being a soldier, my buddy Billy and I decided to join the 300 ounce club. That was 27 beers each, over about 4 hours.
It was a real bad hangover. But we even made t-shirts to celebrate.
9 beers is still well within reach, but I don’t drink beer anymore.
9 hotdogs would be harder than the beers.
Hell, I go past three beers in a day and I am full enough to float.
Yeah it’s like eating a loaf of bread.
Coworker added one friend used to win hot dog eating contests and finished all 9 by the 2nd inning. He a hamburger for grins at the 5th inning.
Nine 12oz. Coors Lights is just barely enough to stave off dehydration.
Nine ballpark hot dogs would probably kill me.
Why?
“I bet you cant drop that anvil on your nuts!”
“Me too.”
That’s how you know we’ve matured Suthen.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Jokes/comments/1hrnja/a_young_bull_and_an_old_bull_are_at_the_top_of_a/
At the Jake, it would be possible (on the right day) to do it at $54+tips. Dollar dog night, and there’s one mobile concession guy who sells 12 ounce cans of Light beer for $5 (usually posted up in the main concourse).
The timing really matters when it comes to drinking beer.
Taking one shot of beer every minute wipes people out from having a belly full of foam leading to vomiting.
Ask me how I know.
Joining the 100 Club, as we called it in school, puts you at 8 beers in one hour forty minutes.
That is hammered for pretty much anyone but Andre the Giant.
We just had “69 club.” Required less beer.
Our “century club” was 100 beers over the course of a weekend (after last class on Friday to sunrise Monday).
“In the letter, the apparent chatbot pretending to be the first lady writes, “Every child shares the same quiet dreams in their heart, whether born randomly into a nation’s rustic countryside or a magnificent city-center.” It gets worse from there, as Melania Trump pleads with the Russian dictator to care about “an innocence which stands above geography, government, and ideology,” all while carefully avoiding mentioning the real world children who have been killed, injured or kidnapped due to Russian’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. It’s just, you know, children. They’re innocent. Have mercy. Big doe eyes and perhaps a little cleavage to sell this heartfelt — or shall we say silicon chip-felt — message about kids who “are forced to carry a quiet laughter.”
…
None of that matters to Trump voters, though, because all this isn’t actually about protecting children or promoting world peace. It’s about gender. MAGA has a bottomless appetite for stories reinforcing their comically ham-fisted ideas of the roles of men and women. It doesn’t matter if those narratives are obviously fake. The evidence suggests the real-life Melania Trump is a small-minded person who hates Christmas, despises flowers and has no interest in anyone’s family but her own. But she is female, so Trump’s followers are eager to project their tradwife fantasies onto her, remaking her into Mother Teresa with a push-up bra and a Botox administrator on standby. Truly, it was nauseating seeing the responses to “her” letter on Truth Social, which veered between portraying her as the sexiest woman alive and gushing about her imaginary “kindness, love and compassion.””
https://www.salon.com/2025/08/20/melanias-dear-putin-letter-is-about-maga-sexism-not-peace/
I’m impressed how someone could be this insane and not end up homeless.
“Melania Trump’s “Dear President Putin” letter wasn’t about persuading the Russian president to make peace. It was about using these retrograde gender stereotypes to get the MAGA base invested in her husband’s flailing attempts to make a “deal” with Putin. By casting Melania Trump in the role of the submissive angel of the administration who is begging Putin for mercy, the White House can look like they’re doing something — and framing it in terms their many sexism-addled supporters can understand. The letter also perversely works as pro-Putin propaganda. It reads very much like every excuse conservative women make for abusive men: He means well, it’s not his fault, he just needs the kindness of a woman’s touch to convince him to be gentle.”
LOL get your hate out. I assume that is Amanduh?
Read the whole thing. It’s amazing.
I would rather shove a hot poker into each eye.
Thanks anyway. I get my daily ration of screeching inchoate rage at the office.
Wow. Salon is really off of the rails…even for Salon.
Lately they are aren’t even pretending they are not insane.
Marcotte has never hidden her insanity.
Projection, too. Lefties are profoundly bigoted toward anybody not in the white straight male demographic who doesn’t think in the way lefties think they should.
WTF? There actually was a letter asking Putin to release kids that were taken by Russia. Zelensky handed Trump a letter from his wife to the first lady thanking her for sending that letter.
Is Amanda just making up the alleged contents of the letter?
Did that actually happen, I wonder?
What can the motivation even be? I get “Putin evil” but that seems beyond the pale even for them.
Remember, projection all of the time. See her accusations of AI generated. Now you know where Amanduh got the text of the letter….and probably her article as well.

No. What is it?
Apparently people are renouncing their Democrat faith, according to headlines about voter registrations. How can this be?
Trump’s fault!!!
Interesting. This suggests this will be Team Blue’s next attempt once it has power.
I launched my usual critique of clean-energy subsidies, and he finished my sentence, adding that “I have to believe that putting a price on carbon” will return to center stage. To my further surprise, he approvingly noted House GOP interest in a carbon border tax, a second cousin to Mr. Trump’s beloved import tariffs.
In other words, at the highest levels of the Democratic Party, a climate realist was already drumming his fingers waiting for the green-subsidies preference falsification to pass.

We have been reliably told that falsification is a false god, at least around here.
Regarding the (totally unsurprising) Florida truck crash: I’ve made work trips to India and have of course never driven there, but often been in the back of taxis or hired cars/vans. One of the main things you notice is that there’s an infomal (or maybe formal, dunno) right-of-way practice that’s there but not here. Basically, for vehicles travelling in the same direction, whichever driver’s eyeballs are further “downstream” has the absolute right of way. If two vehicles are in parallel lanes, then, going the same way, then whichever is ahead can swing into the other lane at will and the other car has to yield. But if the following car catches up and the driver’s eyeballs get ahead, then they can be the one who can change lanes at will. The whole point is to NEVER look behind you. If somebody’s behind you, then seeing you and yielding is up to them.
All that comes to mind in reading that is *crunch*.
Probably works like a roundabout.
When everybody on the road knows how it’s supposed to go, then in its own way it “works”.
But combining the aggressive and deliberate lack of situational awareness to the rear with the hard-core dickishness of “I can do whatever I want and it’s their problem” is the jarring part if you’re brought up on what we used to call defensive driving. It’s almost literally “offensive driving”.
That is why roundabouts don’t really work in the States. Traffic laws, and resulting right-of-ways, are drummed into drivers from day one, and roundabouts, being relatively new to the American driving experience, just throw all of that away. Many people get it, but just as many don’t, which puts a spanner in the works, fucking up timing and expectations.
“Probably works like a roundabout”
So lots of broken taillights.
Reminds me of a friend who learned to drive in Italy and his description of Italian driving protocol.
An army buddy of mine was stationed there and took his Harley. He said that “the Italian national pastime is running motorcycles off the road.”

That predator cholet is awesome!
“More than 2.8 million people now identify as transgender in the US, including an estimated 724,000 youth, according to a new data analysis that is the largest of its kind to date….Of the 2.1 million trans adults, 32.7% (698,500) are trans women, 34.2% (730,500) are trans men and 33.1% (707,100) are trans non-binary people.”
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/aug/20/trans-people-us-data
Self-ID is nonsense. Also, non-binary isn’t trans.
Your gatekeeping is problematic considering your potato of whiteness identity.

That’s the tuber version of “coconut” or “oreo.”
Sweet!
Don’t be such a homophone.
Also, “identify as” is nonsense.
How many people identify as dogs, or rabbits?
Or what you already said.

I could believe 700k each MTF and FTM trannies, but that’s not really the right question. The right question is, what percentage of that 1.4M have actual diagnosed gender dysphoria, and what percentage are some combination of depressed attention-seeking kids, and pervs with humiliation fetishes?
And there is no such thing as being non-binary. Anyone who claims to be, goes immediately in the attention-seeker category.
That there aren’t way more MTF would be a huge change from the past when almost all transsexuals were MTF.
That is, indeed, quite a tell.
Common Tater:
That doesn’t match my experience, with the vast majority that I’ve met being FTM.
Neph – There has been a significant uptick in self-identified FTM trans people, since about around 2014-2015. I personally suspect that most of these cases are not real gender dysphoria, but rather an expression of untreated depression and generalized anxiety. Which, you get a lot of when you have Tumblr and TikTok telling pubescent girls that being a woman sentences you to a lifetime of subservience and sexual abuse.
Two of the original diagnostic markers of dysphoria were, 1.) it’s almost always MTF, and 2.) it comes on either in pre-puberty, or else in one’s 40’s-50’s. Go figure.
EvilSheldon:
Most that I met were either going through the surgery or were in their year of living as men before the surgery, ages in their late 20s/early 30s. But that was during the 2010s time frame. Later ones were more of the ones that came across more as the social contagion type (earlier ones would even ask questions to learn how to act like guys better).
There seems to be an east coast/west coast split. Here there are a number of FTMs but no MTFs In Austin I knew one MTF but no FTMs, though there were plentiful bull dykes/stone butches, so this also might be a funstion of time in history rather than geography.
A FTM that stops taking their testosterone becomes a tragic wreck. I know one, who is living like a stereotypical gay man with random internet hookups nightly, which I guess to them is better than being a female slut? IDK.
Who am I to question such a sage and trustworthy source? It is the guardian after all…might as well be the gospel.
About 15 years ago when the trans thing started, the Advocate estimated that there were 30,000 in the U.S. and stated that that were estimating high.
I believe that, at most, a single digit % of those reported numbers are true.
It’s a rounding error. Even the Advocated admited at the time that the population was too small to do a study on.
Once again, we are saddled with an electorate too dimwitted to comprehend our genius
Democrats have decried Trump’s actions, arguing that while crime did surge nationwide during the pandemic, numbers have since fallen. Nonetheless, the move has exposed a political sore spot for Democrats, who have struggled to counter GOP efforts to frame itself as the party of “law and order” and establish a credible message of their own in the minds of many voters.
“The Republicans have been beating the brains out of the Democrats on these issues,” said James Morone, a political science professor at Brown University, adding that the more holistic Democratic approach to criminal justice policy has proved difficult to communicate.
“It sounds soft, ‘hey, we’ve got to worry about income flows, we have to worry about drug addiction, we have to worry about community policing,'” he said. “It’s very hard to get that message across when someone is yelling, ‘Let’s just lock ’em all up.'”
Holistic approach. Yeah, that’s it.
“difficult to communicate”
Here we go again. The problem is the messaging, not that people are getting mugged and shot.
Well let’s see, one approach actually reduces crime, and the other facilitates it, so lack of understanding doesn’t really seem to be the problem.
What a Morone.
“That’s not my dick up your ass, you are just constipated”
The party that has been actively fostering crime for a decade at least is now telling us not to believe our lying eyes. Seems like a bold strategy.
The ruling by the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is the first by an appeals court to find that a law shielding NLRB administrative judges and the board’s five members from being removed at will by the president is likely illegal.

Wasn’t the Andrew Johnson impeachment precisely over him firing someone the radical Republicans in Congress didn’t want fired?
To moderate Democrats like Heidi Heitkamp, who served as a senator from North Dakota until she lost reelection in 2018, the party needs to spend more time validating the unease that many voters have about crime.
“Start saying these are real concerns and real problems, and one person being victimized is one too many,” she said. “And we need to have a discussion about what [solution] works and what doesn’t work.”
“I think it’s really dangerous to say this is a perception problem,” she added. “That’s insulting to the people who don’t feel safe.”
Those people are racists, and should be expunged from the party.
Screw those voters, we’ll get some new ones that understand how wonderful we are!
Nice try Heidi. The problem with throwing away your credibility as a party is that you cant wish it back. You cant un-say the things you have openly said. More than that you cant make the party radicals shut up. I understand they are now bringing a bazooka to a knife fight. They are going to stop playing nice. You know, the same party that put Trump to a kangaroo show trial and was found guilty of 148 felonies that no one can actually name.
Same with the media. Trash your credibility and you can’t work it back up like a credit score; you’ve exposed yourself as a hack and liar. If there is a road back from that, it’s a very, very long one.
Yes JI. That is an even better point….they were counting on the media to keep the population buffaloed, to run cover and carry water. Now they dont have that. If there is anyone in the country less believed than congress it would be the media that have behaved like compulsive liars: trying to fix getting busted lying by telling even bigger whoppers.

And why this lack of trust and all the “misinformation”? Has something happened that might have caused this?
MSNBC is on the case
Democrats need to hammer home that Trump’s actions not only have nothing to do with crime, but also that they have everything to do with seizing autocratic power and chipping away at the foundations of democratic life. In the nation’s capital military vehicles are patrolling civilians. Residents are being made to pull over into arbitrary checkpoints. They’re being man-handled by masked law enforcement officers. That’s more than just “performance” — it is the enactment of excessive power.
As Melissa Wasser, senior policy counsel for the ACLU for the District of Columbia, recently wrote for MSNBC: “The aim is clear: Make fear the norm. If we don’t call it out, this playbook will be used again and again.” And she warned against complacency: “People across the country must see this moment for what it is: an authoritarian maneuver to expand executive power at the expense of local democracy.”

Do-nothing-ism
The transfer was scheduled for Tuesday. But a panel of judges with the 9th U.S. District Court of Appeals issued a temporary injunction late Monday in response to last-minute appeals by a Native American tribe and environmentalists.
The land includes Oak Flat — an area used for centuries for religious ceremonies, prayer and gathering of medicinal plants by the San Carlos Apache people and other Native American tribes.
The tribe celebrated the pause. But President Donald Trump in a social media post said delaying the transfer by months will affect those people who are depending on new jobs and the nation’s ability to access copper domestically. He blamed “radical left activists.”
Why dig it up and make a big ugly hole in the ground? Leave it. We can get copper from anybody.
Did they ever try to by the land in question? Or is it improperly federal land that should have been sold decades ago?
Is there a square inch of U.S. where indigenous people didn’t “gather medicinal herbs” or isn’t “sacred?”
Not if it can stop a development.
I’m at the point where my stance is “You can buy the land where you can perform your religious ceremonies like everybody else. Property you don’t own can’t be encumbered by a vague spiritual claim.”
I’m sick of that bullshit. I won’t give special sanction to Holy Land ANYWHERE.
You are asking the wrong question. The proper question is “How much do they want?”
The Indians near where I live believe they own every drop of water, on or off their Rez, in drainages that aren’t anywhere near their Rez.
“The White House launched an official TikTok account on Tuesday, taking advantage of its more than 150 million U.S. users to spread the messages of President Donald Trump.
Trump has a soft spot for the popular app, crediting it with helping him gain support among young voters when he defeated Democrat Kamala Harris in the November 2024 presidential election.
Past intelligence assessments have said the short video app’s owners are beholden to the Chinese government and that it could be used to influence Americans.”

TikTok is cancer.
Before the land exchange can happen, the plaintiffs argued that the federal government must prepare a comprehensive review that covers “every aspect of the planned mine and all related infrastructure.” They said the government failed to consider the potential for a dam breach, pipeline failure and if there was an emergency plan for a tailings storage area.
Everybody knows this copper will be used to conduct electricity generated by unclean methods which will spew carbons into the atmosphere and accelerate climate Armageddon. Denied.

“Law enforcement evacuated parts of the Texas Capitol late Tuesday after a social media threat. The evacuation, which began around 6:30 p.m., came as demonstrators protested a Republican move requiring Democratic lawmakers to remain in the building unless they accepted a police escort to their homes.
The threat, posted by an unidentified individual, urged people to “take action by shooting and killing those who will not allow lawmakers to leave,” according to the Department of Public Safety. The scare stalled the legislative session as Republicans sought to advance proposals on flood victim aid and new congressional maps.”

Ban elections
Should Trump ban both mail-in ballots and voting machines, ballots would either need to be tediously and meticulously hand counted or the U.S. would need to create a system for voting online — which security experts warn could threaten the privacy and safety of America’s elections — providing an opening for Russia.
“There is no feasible way to hand count U.S. general elections,” said Harri Hursti, co-founder of the Voting Village at the annual DEFCON conference — where hackers can hunt for vulnerabilities in voting machines. “Humans are slow and error-prone and also sometimes dishonest … You would need to take a significant part of the whole labor force and dedicate those to election work for weeks.”
Rep. Joe Morelle (D-N.Y.), ranking member of the House Administration Committee with jurisdiction over federal election issues, said hand counting ballots “is an open invitation to being able to mess with the results.”
“I don’t think serious people doubt that doing mail-in balloting and using modern technology is far more secure and, frankly, much more accurate than hand counts,” Morelle said.
We definitely need to proceed under the assumption Trump will wave his magic pen and successfully ban both mail in ballots and machines to count them with. That’s obvious.
“or the U.S. would need to create a system for voting online — which security experts warn could threaten the privacy and safety of America’s elections — providing an opening for Russia”
Which no one is suggesting.
Ireland has a complex preferential voting system. They vote on Friday, start counting Saturday morning, and fill the last seat by about Tuesday.
“There is no feasible way to hand count us general elections…”
I stopped reading right there.
Fuck you. The cheating has to come to an end. What’s that you say? You cant win dog catcher in Roosterpoot without cheating? Tough shit. The cheating ends. “U.S. District Judge Wendy Beetlestone believes that a first-term Trump administration regulation exempting nuns from paying for healthcare plans that cover contraceptives is administratively improper. She also holds that uncontested, repeated shaming of white employees for their race is not “severe or pervasive” enough to create a hostile work environment.
The former BBC and CNN journalist, nominated by President Obama and concurrently serving as chancellor of the University of Liverpool, is now facing two appeals for her rulings four months apart, on the religious employer exemption that undermined her patron’s Affordable Care Act and Pennsylvania State University Abington’s treatment of Zack De Piero.”

Prohibiting anyone who worked at CNN from being a judge, is blatantly un-Constitutional and I support it completely.
The judge needs to be subjected to the same treatment that De Piero got.
How can someone manage the roles of being a chief judge in the U.S. and chancellor of a university in England?
Change ‘white’ to any other race and watch her shit her spanks.
the U.S. would need to create a system for voting online
“Text your vote now.”
*$5 for the first vote, $2 for each additional vote. We’ll kill off the national debt in short order.
Not progressive enough. First vote $1, doubling for each successive one.
I’ve advocated this for many years. The federal government should fund itself through ‘vote coupons’. Uniquely identifiable, one-time-use, every legal citizen gets one per election, and additional coupons can be purchased starting at $1000 for the first, $10k for the second, $100k for the third, and so on.

I have considered a similar plan, but I think they should be transferrable for a price agreed upon by buyer and seller.
“Sell my vote? Sure, why not? What’s it worth to you?”
I don’t like the idea of…large organizations…being able to game the system by buying voters versus buying vote coupons. The factorial price hikes are specifically intended to obviate the complaints about, “A billionaire can cancel the votes of 6 bums REEEEEEEEEE!!!”, as well as to codify the idea of, “If you want more influence, expect to pay for it with cash money.”
Companies should be able to vote against tax levies and bonds proportional to their property tax.
Not progressive enough. First vote $1, doubling for each successive one.
It’s the government. Bulk rate discount, like junk mail.
