No idea – I remember taking a bunch of tests and shit early on but we didn’t have special classes until 4th grade on.
The real test is boogers and shit are placed strategically in the testing room and if both items are left untouched after the test and have not been eaten or smeared, your kid passes the test.
Thinking waaaaay back, I do remember taking tests as a wee child, but I can’t confidently say that they were school related nor exactly what the questions were.
Details I am reasonably confident are true:
It was taken with a crayon of a type I have never seen since: red, oversized, half round/flat on one side.
The spaces to be filled in with that crayon varied across the test. I’m sure at least one of them was a butterfly, I believe that there was a house.
I was tested quite a bit when I was in first or second grade. A couple years back in a box of childhood stuff my parents gave me had the results. The scale of the test apparently has long since faded, to the point I couldn’t find good references for it online, but based on the categories, it was a combination autism/IQ thing. My parents did tell me (when I was younger) that the small Catholic grade school recommended me to skip grades or go to public schools for a better education. My parents did not want to do either, so i stayed in the Catholic school.
I was tested at the age of 6 and starting riding the short bus in the 3rd grade. Even at a very young age I think that they view gifted kids as a “disruption” in standard classes so they prefer to get them out of there as soon as they can.
