The Hair should undulate* as it moves across the desk, a slight wobbling is ineffective as a indicator of movement, think inchworm, and exaggerate the motion.

That wasn’t a very long, meandering story.

I personally cannot wait for the great 2025 EBT riots

    • Sean

I need to top off some pmags.

That thin veil that society is no more than 3 days from collapse is coming upon us for 40 million people…

      • kinnath

Someone else has been into the bottle of black pills.

      • Fourscore

Seems like when the rioting starts it’s the liquor stores that get hit first and hardest. Food stores not so much.

COSTCO and some Walmarts have booze. While they are being looted some folks might beat Black Friday and get their Christmas shopping done early.

It do be like dat Mr. Enemy.

      • Ownbestenemy

I was thinking who the hell is Mr. Enemy? No pay is getting to me

    • Fourscore

OBE, if it’s any consolation I got a couple government checks today, EOM type of things.

      Hope they clear

      • Ownbestenemy

I think what bothers me is coworkers sitting at home getting compensated the same as myself actually engaging in labor.

      • Fourscore

        Understandable…

I’m disgusted that Congress is still being paid.

      • UnCivilServant

Congressional salaries should be apportioned by sortition to people who do not get paid in any capacity by the government.

      • Chafed

That is bullshit OBE. I don’t understand how you can be compelled to work.

Your Milei work is *mwah.* I gotta ask, why’d ya wanna lube the chainsaw pre-ass insertion? Wanna stay in the habit, I s’pose, but I’m not so sure of the efficacy of that. (Nothing wrong with ritual.)

  8. Evan from Evansville

The fretting is oh-so funny. Something negative must be inserted into *everything.* By compulsion, tic or editorial demand.

CNN: White House ballroom saga could be worse for Trump than he realizes
AP: What shutdown? Trump isn’t canceling travel, golf or his ballroom even with the government shuttered

^^ Yeah, most people haven’t noticed, and methinks that’s frightening DC. And always with the golf hatred. Every other Prez has done it, and it’s kinda sensible. One, shit gets done on golf courses, and I also expect a human to have some human time to remain human. With a finger on the nuke button, uh. Ya want a bit of chill. And a golf course *should* be pretty easy to monitor. No hiding spaces and plenty of time to check. Not like they do that all the time, of course. What a fuck up. Odd I haven’t heard more ’bout that one.

/dedthread re: Karine: Interesting how the insults share overlap, like talking points had been released: “A car crash is fascinating to watch,” the Democratic strategist told the outlet. “She was the top communicator for the president of the United States and she can’t get through basic interviews.”

The same Democratic strategist also compared Jean-Pierre’s heavily scrutinized interview with The New Yorker published on Monday — in which the former press secretary discusses her book at length — 𝐭𝐨 “𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐓𝐲𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐲,” Politico reported…
    ——-
“…It’s like 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐣𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐞𝐧𝐝 of the pool,” one anonymous individual who worked with Jean-Pierre…”

Uh, so now you know how we feel? Rally the (remaining) troops against the heretic. She needs to be *thoroughly* destroyed, lest she cast *any* light on how bad shit really was in the WH. I’m also rooting for her now, and I hope she takes this *very* personally. Burn every bridge on the way out, Karine, cuz they ain’t letting you back in, regardless. Might as well go out with a bang.

I think…Federal Government Shutdown chronicle will return tomorrow…maybe with a more resigned theme

    • creech

More “How will I pay for baby formula” or “I can’t afford shoes for the kids to go to school” or “My mom is sick and needs my help but I don’t have money for gas.” Can’t the media find one person who says “I always have at least six months pay set aside for a rainy day, and a couple non-maxed out credit cards to carry me until the government opens up again.” I bet half of those who “can’t afford a box of mac and cheese” are carrying the latest smartphones.

      • rhywun

I used to get accosted by a leech outside my Jersey City office while he was jawing on his cell phone. A professional vagrant.

I wanted to go all Michael Douglas on his ass.

      • Ted S.

The pro-lockdown people largely didn’t give a shit about the Icky Class people who couldn’t do WFH and got furloughed from jobs (or put on fewer hours). Why should we care about government-sector workers?

      • Ownbestenemy

Latest smartphone, probably highest priced internet, 2-3 subscription services, dont think twice about ordering GrubHub for a $3.00 meal deal…

        “I need all those things!”

      • Ted S.

Yeah, as I’ve suggested before, I think one of the big divides isn’t quite WFH versus people doing things that can only be done on site so much as people who think they can afford to live online versus the class of people for whom eating out a step above fast casual is a big deal.

I also noticed during covid how local TV all had a bunch of twentysomething women who all had aspirations of being in that first group and only covered a certain class of business and how they were dealing with the pandemic. No greasy spoon diners, no sirree.

      • Ted S.

I mean, heaven knows I couldn’t afford to use GrubHub like that, and I don’t think people are using it for the greasy spoon diner.

I wonder, however, whether the government sector workers a eating at an place that has anything on the menu for $3.

Aight, here we go glibronis. I predicted LA in 5, but I’m not sure *they’re* gonna see Game 7. Oddly, a positive spin to begin the workweek.

“This orange flower cloaks Mexico during Day of the Dead. Climate change is putting it at risk”

Even Gates is backing off that shit. Yay.

    • Ted S.

In any case, it means less than three days until the baseball season is over. :-p

      • Evan from Evansville

        Fewer.

      • Ownbestenemy

        Zing! Got em!

    • rhywun

      Tronna getting it done.

I still think Gates is just looking for a better grift because the current grift is fading fast. He wants to “help people in need” or some shit. That has grift written all over it.

OBE, can we expect another dispatch from The Front a little later?

      • Gender Traitor

Why are you annoyed at yourself? 🙁

      • UnCivilServant

I overate, overslept, and got nothing done.

I hope today goes better. 🤞

I predicted today the Dems will cave but appears they are aiming for next week.

Why not this week? Well, I truly believe they want a weekend of their EBT warriors out causing chaos to maybe goad Trump to send more troops into cities.

The controllers aren’t rising up and relatively sitting it out, though some 6-figured whiners have emerged. However, most of that is “we just want to focus on our job”

There has been a tonal shift in media control, information sharing and overall sense of people who are done with the welfare class (those who are choosing it’s path; not the downtrodden single mom who lost everything to some unforseen event).

I picture the Left of Left Dems sitting around and probably equating this moment to the start of the French Revolution.

    • UnCivilServant

I picture the Left of Left Dems sitting around and probably equating this moment to the start of the French Revolution.

      Madame Guillotine Awaits, Citizen Robespierre.

Only a fool thinks they will come out on top after unleashing chaos. None of them are the American Bonaparte

    • Ted S.

After election day in VA and NJ?

      • Ownbestenemy

That was floated by talking heads after the bust of No Kings and even the subsidies expiring didnt move the needle.

Old guard of the Dems know this is their last chance before the Marxist fully take over.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

If anything will motivate them to riot it’ll be having the food cut off. The Dems will trot out the hungry kids and the Republicans will be the ones that cave though, at least partially. This is one of the things where the threat of cutting the benefits off is more useful politically than actually doing it.

    • robodruid

I fell that this is there last chance to make a difference with this.
The poling has not been awesome for either party.

When is the filing deadline for AOC for senate?
Are the cameras ready for the food riots of November?

    • rhywun

      some 6-figured whiners have emerged

They are all over the media. I’m sorry for anyone in genuine need but if you can’t miss a single paycheck you really ought to be making better decisions.

As for the 1 in 8 Americans feeding themselves on my dime… I have no words. 🤬

      • Ownbestenemy

When I first started back in 2010, making 48K, alimony and child support going out…ya a paycheck missed would have been tough but I am also the generation of ‘well time to downsize and sell off everything except a box to put the TV on”

Wants have become percieved needs to most of society. They feel they are deserving of steak and scoff at weeks of beans and rice.

      • rhywun

I’ve been more or less homeless multiple times. It was always my fault. I didn’t run to the media and bitch about it, I took care of it.

Beans and rice would have been nice. I made a jar of Planters peanuts last a week once.

      • Ted S.

Rule 34 suggests Mr. Peanut cosplay is a thing.

    • Sean

Local news were asking people on the street about what they will do when their benefits run out. One guy actually said “I don’t know, maybe get a job.” and they aired it.

      • rhywun

        *spits*

Very curious exactly how prevalent that is.

  14. Ted S.

Just listened to an explainer on the recent election in Ivory Coast where a US professor claimed the incumbent president learned from Trump and got the strongest opposition candidates knocked off the ballot.

Uh, remember blue state judges trying to get Trump off the ballot because insurrection?

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

Reality doesn’t matter amigo, you should know that by now.

    • Ownbestenemy

Its not as if they have a well established network to pick up that slack…instead its crying that daddy sugar is out of money.

      • rhywun

U.S. bishops have “advocated for public policies that support those in need.”

        grrrrrrr anger rising

    • UnCivilServant

“Wait, what do you mean the church is supposed to be a charitable institution in of itself and spend its own money on helping those in need? It’s easier to lobby to spend your money on paracites.”

      • Rat on a train

CRS spends all its money on fundraising?
