Saturday Evening VD Open Post

We interrupt your usual Saturday Evening Links for an open post. Tell us about your best/worst Valentines Day

On our third Valentine’s Day together, I wanted to do something nice for my wife and bought lobster to cook. It turns out that she doesn’t like lobster. I’m pretty sure she tried to tell me that, but… my wife “doesn’t like” a lot of things that she’s actually just fine with. I hadn’t quite calibrated the meter correctly.

I think my favorite part of that was that she tore up the card I gave her. And then taped it back together a day later and put it back out on the kitchen bar for anyone to see.

Brett L

Brett L

Brett set out to find America, the real America, the America of strip malls and serial killers, of butthole waxing and kelp smoothies, of cocaine and maggots. He sought it in the most American part of America—Florida: swamp gas and fever dreams, where love arrives on a rickety boat and leaves when it doesn't have the money for its fourth abortion. Oh, where has Brett gone? He’s drinking at the neck of America’s wang, chewing its foreskin and working its shaft. Brett is becoming legend. Brett can never die. Brett can never die. Brett is America, facedown in his own patriotic puke: the red his blood, the white his stomach lining, and the cold, cold blue his gas station slushie, spiked with coconut rum and tetracycline.

Getting some weird formatting on my phone. In any case, happy VD day

Had a similar (maybe worse) problem early in the beer review post before Tonio bravely and nobly conquered it. At the moment them as what can fix it are… otherwise engaged. We shall persevere.

      The internet has a virus.
      It’s VD afterall.

I bought my wife a 2022 Toyota Venza today. How’s that for a VD gift!

I’m working so no VD stories for me this year.

The mail lady left my kids candy, little toys, and cards in the mailbox so they had a fun day.

It’s funny being a little rural, and working from home (largely) you get to know the delivery drivers.
