Time for an evil biker gang classic! Only this time, it’s a British biker gang, so they sound all polite and look clean cut. Still, they are up to no good. Specifically, they intend to off themselves and come back from the dead to be immortal maniacs. The good news? This movie gets up to speed quickly (see what I did there) and does not let up. It’s really great.
It’s the usual questions – It’s a British horror film, so is it a Hammer film? No, but is was directed by Don Sharp, who did many other Hammer films. So it will have that similar look, feel, and vibrant color.
So what is it about? This time, we get a wonderful summary from Bonkers Ass Cinema. You can read the rest if you click the link:
Tom (Leader of the biker gang) is convinced that his psychic/medium mother (Beryl Reid) has the secret to eternal life, since their butler, Shadwell (George Sanders) hasn’t aged a day since he’s known him. Hatching the cleverest blackmail scheme ever, Tom tells his mother that if she doesn’t give him the secret, he and his gang will commit crimes (!!!). Mrs. Latham, knowing she has the losing hand in this, relents and allows Tom to enter a forbidden, locked room in the manor. There, he meets a Frog God, and learns what he has to do to come back from the dead and live forever:
- Commit suicide, embracing death 100%
- Believe with all your being that you will come back
Granted this did not turn out so well for George Sanders, who did really commit suicide later in life. He did not come back. Clearly the film’s premise is flawed. Anyway, after Tom comes back he begins an undead rampage in the most polite British fashion. Seriously, do these guys look like kindergarteners in comparison to American bikers. Still this is great fun, and a great pick for GlibFlicks. Please do enjoy this polite biker romp with the undead!

So watch! Or don’t! Everything is voluntary! If you hate it, talk about your Spring gardening. Just like a British Biker gang, there are no rules on Thursday nights!

Pimp chalice!
I did some GIFS but I was bobbling around too much.
“No, but is was directed by Don Sharp”
I like it already.
RJ, that new picture is wonderful. I certainly hope you didn’t get any wrist fur in your beverage.
Four and a half hours until I can watch.
*let sigh*
Also also, have you ever watched Your, the Hunter from the Future?
It might be right in your wheelhouse.
Edit: Yor.
Whycome 4.5 hrs?
CT:. work. Swing shift, and all that.
Do people that work swing shift lead swinging love lives?
Yes. The problem is the usual versions of it are from lampoon groups. So you have somebody snarking over it. When it does come up with no built-in snark it is available for a tenth of a second.

“who did really commit suicide later in life”
Yikes!
Yes he did. After starring in a video for RATT, where he was a butler.
I met Ratt in a bathroom at the MTV awards.
Did you go round and round trying to get out the door?
This looks interesting:

Oooo! Adding to the list.
Wanted to see the bikes, found the trailer for those that are curious.

They look like Triumphs to my untrained eye.
Me too.
I wonder if biker badness is in proportion to the size of the nation they come from?
Russian Chinese and Canadian bikers bad to the bone.
US bikers less bad.
Bikers from San Marino down right sweet.
In beer news Deschutes changed their labels again.
They won’t trick me this time. https://ibb.co/DP7nKCdV
+1 Bōsōzoku
The horns on the back of that guys bike are amazing.
I’m having trouble imagining the Canadian 1% are that bad to the bone.
I rode to the next town north of me one Halloween. It got down to -1 F. That’s as bad as I ever was, it snowed 3-4” that night and I didn’t make it back home until lat the next day.
The cannuk 1% ers have to deal with moose and brown bears on top of shorter summers. They may be Canadian polite but they have to be at least a bit tough.
Too bad. Those are their only two good beers.
I haven’t found anything I like of theirs.
Not Neph?
Georgia cops tell parents to make sure they don’t pack booze in kids’ lunches: ‘That is NOT Capri Sun’
Also how the hell is a variation of a kamikaze a lemon drop martini?
It isn’t.
Meanwhile teachers and school quacks giving kids medical grade meth.
Wineries are struggling. Gotta start them young.
“The road to Roswell” and “Complete National Parks”
Checks out, green googly eyed alien is planing an invasion.
Are you one of those disclosure people?
I don’t know.
Reading my shelf is futile. The lower half of books belong to the human who calls herself my wife.
First they came for our women.
Then they create hybrid babies to get a foothold on our world.
All those people you see in Vegas who somehow never get up from slot machines, yet inhale endless drink specials? That’s us. Worry about the Lizard People who were always here, even before humans. Me? I need drink specials, silly bets and economic freedom.
I want the economic freedom, too.
So those chain smoking little old Korean ladies that were trying to teach my wife how to play video poker at the golden nugget were your people?
They were friendly and helpful.
Tricky.
Most likely. If they are drinking Mai Tais, definitely.
These guys make an appearance?
No, but they loved video nasties and were clearly inspired by this one.
I was once at a party with those guys. Rat Scabies kept stealing my drinks.
Rustlin’ drinks is a hangin’ offense in these parts…
I did that the first time I got drunk.
I’m still ashamed of my behavior.

Immediate reaction: this soundtrack is dope!
It is. Everything about this movie is great. I wish i had played it years ago.
The funeral song is awful hippy shit, though.
Ok I forgot that part. Jump over it.
Travel dates! I am heading to the NorthEast soon.
Blobfest is one thing I am definitely attending: https://thecolonialtheatre.com/blobfest/
And a yet to be fully finalized trip up as far as North Carolina from May 30th to June 12th. Meeting anyone along the way for lunch would be great.
Where in NC are you going?
Don’t know all the details yet. I should gave a full list of stops negotiated by end of March.
Not much into beer drinking but Asheville is pretty big for beer for the region. Nice hikes around it.
The city itself was always on track to being the Portland/Seattle of the south and very well may be unbearable now
Outer banks or Wilmington is nice.
Wilmington water should be ok then the OBX will be cold
Over my many visits to the OBX I’ve gone on dolphin tours, seen lighthouses, went to the wright brothers site, went looking for bear in the alligator wildlife refuge (there is some group that will try to do a tour for the elusive red wolf)
One of my favorite states. I congratulate Tonio on his upcoming move and will miss his editorial hat wearing.
I remember playing with this as a kid: Moon Blob
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX3NYEQJclk
Even bought a new batch out of nostalgia last year. It’s been used as alien saliva and slime in sci fi movies.
My original batch of moon blob spent many years inside a Sesame Street thermos in my parents’ freezer.
From ded thred. Lutnick supported HRC in 2016, long long after her true nature had been revealed. The guy has a history of poor decision making. He also stole cantor Fitzgerald from cantor’s widow.
He also canceled the salaries of employees killed in 911 immediately, leaving families SOL.
A peach.
I forgot about that. bill Reilly was going off on him then if I remember. Health insurance, too.
Mixed. He did that as he felt the firm couldn’t survive paying for no work.
He later paid the families a portion of the firm’s profits. He also hired kids from the same families. That arguably was more beneficial.
I would have paid them out for the rest of the month and what vacation/PTO time is owed them.
Now if I die the guy that’s working with me gets paid what he is owed and he’ll have to deal with my wife cause I’m out and the business will be up for sale or fail completely.
And loves tariffs, ’cause the other people pay them.
Queued up for later viewing. Thanks RJ!
Just got back from walking Peabody, and as I was delighted to learn earlier, ESPN’s got a couple of NHL games on. (First one just ended; no spoilers from me.) EDM and LA, now. (Go Edmonton. Huh. Or just root for Gretzky, who played for both (and others).)
Well. Work certainly went quickly. I’ll give it that. The lottery snafu was bizarre and unpleasant in many ways, though thankfully I’m in Carmel and everyone’s friendly. (With strangers in an everyday transaction, at least.)
My Voca Rehab dude and I briefly talked today, and he had some good finds to share. I’ll admit, I haven’t done too much looking or applying since I’m getting used to the new makeshift work and schedule. I’m halfway through my week, and I hope to get some time in with The Boys on Sunday, along with sending those apps in.
‘Twill be something when I bound outta this halfway-h̵o̵u̵s̵e̵ gig.
Thanks for these, R.J., and all the best to Tonio with the move and more!
