New daughter is having her bridal shower at the Spud domicile today. It looks like the house puked Hawaiian kitsch. Whadya gonna do? She deserves a happy day.

Links?

Maybe best not to have another melt down.

He can’t even find a Democrat donor to loan him a plane.

Yep. The fecal matter has intersected with the fan. Iran should prolly not be bombing Arab neighbors, but they all hate each other anyways.

Everybody was Tai Chi walking!

And then there’s the other 51st state.

Oopies. Dude didn’t cover his tracks very well.

Another take. Iran has been at war with us for 47 years.

Okay, that’s it for me. Iran is dominating the news cycle today. I’m hiding on the patio, about to pour myself a tall one. Peace out, Glibbies.

And have consistently committed acts of war (albeit mainly through proxies more recently) ever since. My take: When someone shouts “Death to America”, believe them.

      • The Hyperbole

        You going over there?

      • juris imprudent

They pretty wisely talked big but didn’t do much that we would take notice of here. As for shit in their own backyard, well maybe we shouldn’t swing our big ol’ dick around so freely?

      • UnCivilServant

So if we weren’t wearing such a short skirt, the radical fundimentalist jihadis wouldn’t keep waging terror war on the infidels?

      • NoDakMat

C’mon, JI, what fun is having a big ol’ dick if you don’t flop it out on table once in a while?

It’s been a while, but yeah, they have done things that we noticed here in the form of dead soldiers. That PJ Media article makes a pretty good argument, other than the “right side of history” retardedness.

I’m not thrilled about us being involved in this shit, but someone has to put an end to it, and the Ayatolla’s version of putting an end to it was to usher in the apocalypse.

Of all days to decide to have a news free morning, I chose this morning.

    Imagine my surprise.

    • The Other Kevin

Honestly you could catch up in about 10 minutes.

      • Gustave Lytton

It’s a four way gang bang at this point.

      • B.P.

Nonintervention is a wildly popular policy position, and most presidential contenders campaign on it during the election season (Trump, Bush the Younger, Obama…. yada yada…. Woodrow “He Kept Us out of War” Wilson), and yet it’s never delivered. I guess it’s too tempting to fix this ooonnneee vexing little international problem through superior firepower, that they just can’t leave it alone.

Well thats annoying. Seems the 2 big chain grocery stores here only have the “3 Cheese” variant.

Is it me, or am I just cheap enough to make my own omelets?

      • rhywun

Yeah this product never occurred to me but hell I’ll give it a try. I am just that lazy.

      • Tres Cool

Unless you’re a prepper, and dont work from home, its sometimes worth it to pay for the convenience.
Heat em’ in the office. Or as is often my case- the job trailer.

    DBLEAGLE ON FEBRUARY 28, 2026 AT 05:29 PM [+]
I spotted a new (to here) item- a 7.5 oz single serving can of Mary Kitchen corned beef hash.

Ah, the “senior citizen” size. I saw that for the first time at the other supermarket here, the one that isn’t my usual supermarket. Now I make sure to pick up one or two whenever I find myself there because that size is perfect.

    • Threedoor

If you are aged but not a citizen would that make you a ‘señor citizen?’

    • Tres Cool

Mary Kitchen is just a Hormel subsidiary.
And if you’re cooking at home, its adequate hash. Make sure you give it time to get crispy.
The best corned beef hash I ever had was at some restaurant in Brooklyn- cant remember the name, but I could walk you there. Somewhere near Union Street and 6th avenue.
However, when Im in the (216) Slyman’s Deli is the spot.

      (I think Neph will agree)

      • Tres Cool

…I dont really care for rye bread, but theirs is really good

      • rhywun

The worst corned beef hash I ever had was in Manhattan a couple years ago – the diners there are all seriously hit or miss now (mostly miss). Let’s just say they are not run in the classic manner any more, but rather by indifferent staff who largely don’t speak English and don’t give a shit about food.

  4. juris imprudent

His decision is risky, but it carries the moral fortitude of being indisputably on the right side of history.

JFC, bad enough when the left gives us that shit.

    Re: the LA super:

The closed session on Thursday followed a five-minute public comment period during which three people called on the district to show greater transparency and accountability and to consider matters such as special needs students as they discuss leadership.

They want to put one of the short bus kids in charge? Might be an improvement. 🤷

  6. rhywun

they all hate each other anyways.

I swear I’ve seen a few Trek-i-verse episodes where the good guys sticking their dick into conflicts they don’t understand and moreover have no business sticking their dick into did not end well.

NPR is probably upset at the NYT writing the most NPR article before they could think of it.

    • Spudalicious

And now my feed is full of Tai Chi adds.

Random comment for the dead thread about material prices. My structural steel prices are down from a year ago. I just got a quote for fiberglass walkway grating which was also down from last year. The rubber products I have made in Seattle have been the same for the last two years.

The biggest price increases I’ve seen are for programmable logic controllers and other electrical control panel components.

    • Threedoor

I need to check my iron supplier bill.

My welding wire has held stable for almost two years now.

      One product dropped last year.

      • Plinker762

I switched from Haskins to Farwest a couple of years ago for steel. I still use Haskins for laser and oxy cuts for production runs.

      • Plinker762

Our local welding store was bought out by Airgas so I’ll see what happens to wire pricing.

      • anti pro state

Non-ferrous metals are through the roof along with precious metals. Iron is actually the odd one out, not sure why.

      • Plinker762

        Plastics are nuts too.

Maybe there is still enough US steel production to offset import costs? About half the steel I buy is US rolled.

      • Threedoor

I have two and a half options in lewiston.
Gateway for the best assortment, cutting and breaking ( I’ve been going back and forth on a part they have tried to make four times now. ) pacific for steel of limited supply and Bromling if they are open for what supply they may have.

I don’t buy much so I’m not buying direct from any of the distributers.

On the wire I buy direct from Hobart and Stoody.

      • Tres Cool

@Anti: In the stainless world, the two most expensive ingredients are nickel and chrome (alloy dependent- sometimes ferroniobium is a spice). Watch the prices in those markets and you’ll get an idea why.

      • Threedoor

        Stainless prices are crazy.
Chromium is a not insignificant percentage of one of the alloys I use and is largely mines in Africa, nickel in Madagascar. When there is political unrest in the south of Africa my alloy prices go crazy.

      • Tres Cool

You know who sits on one of the world’s largest nickel reserves? Its not Sudbury, ON, CA

        Its Cuba.

      • Threedoor

        Good luck mining in CA.
Even for gold. Y largest customer had a five year contract to crunch rock in CA for a leach pile.

The mine couldn’t make it feesable even with gold above 3000 an ounce.

      • Threedoor

The USSR didn’t collapse when Stalin died, and Iran didn’t collapse when the last ayatollah died. Some other mullah will take over, and it will be business as usual.

Iran will not abandon their nuclear program.

    • UnCivilServant

I don’t know who will take over, but there is a better than even chance it won’t be a member of the Islamic Republic. The mob is still out in arms against them.

My childhood friend was Baháʼí . His friends were all Persian refugees. To say I was smitten is… to put it lightly. The Iranian daughters of these people… you’d have to see it to believe it. I can see what Hitler saw.

      • rhywun

One of my closer HS friends was the son of Iranians. Fugly is being generous.

      • groat scotum

So… are we done in Iran? Was all that about killing 1 dude?

    So confusing

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

When it comes to war it takes one to start it and two to finish it (unless you completely kick their teeth in ala G 1945) so…maybe? I’d think they have plan though.
