Thursday Morning Links

The Buckeyes are getting on the right side of the bubble as we get set to wrap up the regular season. Same for Miami (FL). Lou Holtz died yesterday. He was a good guy. Across the pond, Arsenal took a big step toward winning the league after winning while Man City dropped points to lowly Forest, which is a shocking thing to be typing in March. And tomorrow starts the F1 calendar, which is generally a time of celebration but I don’t know how happy I am gonna be with these shitbox Prius knockoff cars. And that’s it for sports.

We need to elect more people like this. I can think of no better person in a position of power than someone who was failed by the government. Seriously.

The only crime here was the game rigging. The rest of what happened should be legal in a free country.

A return to civility. I applaud this and think it should become a law, with violations punished with at least 20 years in prison.

I’ve never heard this phrase before. She sounds like a real piece of work though.

This is just savage. And I’m all for it, although it may be a HIPAA violation.

I honestly believe the UK are run by cucks. Just absolute cuckoldry on display from Labour.

So they’re firing the one guy who gives a shit? He should move to Mississippi and teach. The kids will probably be able to understand him too.

What did they think was gonna happen? Seriously, I assumed this was going on from the minute they were launched.

I really feel bad for her. I’m not sure where she’ll manage to run her race hustling now. The field is already crowded and since she no longer will have a job and a lot of that sweet NGO money for think tanks has dried up, she’s kind of screwed.

Anybody want to go into the peach canning business? There’s an opportunity out there, but sadly it’s in Commiefornia.

Here’s a fantastic track. Just wonderful. So is this. And the videos are just amazing 80s slop. Enjoy them both.

LATE ADDITION: Now I want a race scheduled at Kylami to take place next week. If it led to this entitled prick’s retirement, it would be worth it. Plus it’s a hell of a track, although I don’t think it qualifies for an F1 race anymore.

And enjoy this lovely Thursday, dear friends.

While the government should absolutely not be empowered to maintain a ‘no-fly list’, I don’t have any particular problem with the airlines maintaining a list of ‘customers’ who have demonstrated that they can’t behave in public. Ideally a publicly available searchable list, with names. dates, and infractions.

If a passenger has to be removed mid-flight, both the airline itself, and all the other customers on the flight, should have an automatic legal cause of action against the disruptive passenger for the cost of the aircraft diversion, and their personal inconvenience, respectively.

Can’t but think it is related to the water fights, redirection for the Delta Smelt and all the dairies and orchards I saw close over the last 15 years to be replaced in the last couple with massive solar farms (and if anyone thinks fields of panels are prettier than orchards they’re crazy… and since I know the power density means they have to carpet the landscape for their Green dream, I think it sucks).

Wouldn’t at all surprise me if California kills pretty much all Central Valley agriculture in the next 20 years and somehow they’ll think that’s better.

Morning all… Sloopy — I’ve avoided watching pre-season testing or anything so I can see how the cars work in actual race conditions. I’m sure if I were more avidly watching back at the start of the hybrid era I’d expect Suck with more Suck in battery management… but that era was okay (doesn’t hurt I was a Rosberg fan of course). Maybe this one won’t suck too bad either… though I’d much rather F1 just told all the “sustainability” suckups to go fuck themselves, this is a drop in the bucket compared to the jet traveling the influencers do anyway. The one thing I did catch is that it sounds like the drivers will be busy micromanaging energy to try to have a decent amount of “push-to-pass” when they need it… and that could very well suck. I’d rather the focus be on feeling the car, the track and getting the best line than worrying about dials on the wheel and battery levels… but we’ll see how it goes.

I’m forming my judgment based on two drivers. Max hates them and George likes them. That’s enough for me to hate them lol.

According to the outlet, some of the questions on a class quiz last month were framed around taking someone out on a date on Valentine’s Day:

“The amount of money you spend on a date varies inversely to how much they weigh. A typical girl that weighs 120lbs will cost you $55,” the math problem reportedly read.

Students were then directed to first “derive the variation equation” and then asked how much they could expect to on a date “with Ashely who is $220lbs?” A third prompt asked students to calculate how much their date would need to weigh if they could only afford to spend $5.

Wow. I don’t know if I could stop laughing long enough to figure out the answer.

    I got 35 myself

    • (((Jarflax

      26% here, you bleeding heart!

    • R C Dean

I bailed. The binary responses to simplistic, if not tendentious, questions put me off.

      • Gustave Lytton

        And dated. 38% myself.

Commies have the right to express their opinion. They also have the right to fly like turkeys.

      • rhywun

Yeah, won’t be fooled again with that nonsense. Pass

      • R.J.

There were definitely some trick questions I would go back and answer differently. 41%.

    • EvilSheldon

38%. I’m a little surprised that I came in that low, but all these kind of tests are open to a lot of interpretation.

      • Threedoor

        Just like me!
        He’s just like me!

    • Bobarian LMD

      I got a 44%.

      Kind of shitty questions, though.

Lot of things I agreed with in general but could come up with specifics where I was violently opposed.

“The disgraced ex-New Jersey mayor caught recklessly driving drunk with her 2-year-old son in the car on St. Patrick’s Day will not face jail time because of her “second chance.”

Lumberton Township Committeewoman Gina LaPlaca, who served as mayor last year, pleaded guilty to DUI and child endangerment charges on Tuesday and was sentenced to three years of supervision under an intervention program.

The 46-year-old Democrat will be required to take part in several court-ordered conditions, including attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and complying with New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency requirements, CBS News Philadelphia reported.”

“The shocking allegations became public last week, when one teammate, Aidan Romain, filed a lawsuit seeking damages over the sexual and racial abuse he claimed he received at van der Woude’s hands.

Van der Woude “admitted in Los Angeles County Juvenile Division Court … to sexual penetration with a foreign object (digital penetration) against a minor,” on Nov. 7, 2024, as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, the Orange County Register reported.”

The thing I don’t like is that I can’t find a detailed list of James Fishback’s beliefs on his campaign site. Just fluff and donation links. You have no idea what he is about. This type of ruse is common mostly among creepy liberals who imitate conservatives to get votes.

      • Common Tater

“You have no idea what he is about.”

I guess that’s true, but I’m basing it on what he has said. Such as putting a 50% tax on OF creators, and publicly hanging the people in the Epstein files, etc.

The payments are related to Assembly Bill 218, passed in 2019, which opened a three-year window, concluding at the end of 2022, that allowed adults to file lawsuits over childhood sexual abuse going as far back as the 1940s. In addition, on an ongoing basis, the law extended the deadline for filing a claim related to childhood sexual assault to the age of 40 or within five years of when victims reasonably should have understood the harm done to them — whichever is later….

    Domestic terrorism

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz told lawmakers Wednesday that his state has been terrorized by the Trump administration over mass welfare fraud allegations, pointing to the killing of U.S. citizens in the midst of an immigration enforcement surge around Minneapolis.

“Let me be clear: In Minnesota, if you defraud public programs, if you steal taxpayer money, we’ll find you, we’ll prosecute you, we’ll convict you, and we’ll throw you in jail,” the Democrat said in his opening remarks at a hearing before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

But, he added, “the people of Minnesota have been singled out and targeted for political retribution at an unparalleled scale, including blocking Medicaid reimbursements to our state just last week.”

Stop being an incompetent buffoon, Tim.
