As if there wasn’t enough to worry about, there’s apparently a fringe far-right labor group making in-roads at Audi and Volkswagen factories across Germany. Luckily, Germany’s top industrial union has been able to keep its stronghold on the factories’ work councils, but it has certainly lost some ground. If there’s one thing you really don’t want, it’s far right folks in Germany. From Reuters:

They (utterly stupidly) changed the name of Stadium Blvd. in Albuquerque to “Avenida Cesar Chavez” a couple of decades ago. I wonder if they’ll have to change it back now since he’s apparently in the process of being cancelled.
They changed the wonderfully named ARMY street in SF to Ceasear Chavez blvd.
The same will hold true there.
I still call it Army Street.
You can find really good Mexican food on Cesar Chavez Avenue in St. Paul. I’m not sure what the street was called before.
St. Paul was Concord before it was changed to Little Ceasar Chavez.
If I still lived there, I would call it Army Street.
But yes, naming anything after “admired” figures – especially fairly recent ones & where it’s always with complete names and titles – often leads to this sort of thing when sensibilities get ever more exquisitely tuned.
