Arizona throttled Arkansas. Illinois beat Houston, Purdue took out Texas, and Iowa outlasted Nebraska. The Big Ten appears to have showed up for this tournament (aside from Ohio State laying an egg). Let’s see what today brings. In soccer news, Northern Ireland and Ireland both went out of the WC knockout qualifiers, as did Wales and Ukraine. Italy are alive and hoping to make their first WC in some time. The field will be set next Tuesday once the playoffs are done. MLB opened up yesterday, which is very much a welcome event. And F1 is in Japan this weekend, which is starting to mean less and less to me every time I see these new cars trotted out. That’s it for sports, so I’m moving on.
This is such a tragic story. The state failed her over and over again…until she asked the state to go ahead and kill her. Then they finally did what she expected of them.
No wonder they’re so aggressive. You know, if they were teenagers, the government would probably propose drugging them up with downers to keep them under control. As for me, I’m just happy that they’re having a good time.
Way to fold, pussies. Although it comes as no surprise.
Of course they arrested him. He’s making them look inept. And that’s what they do to people who make them look inept.
What does he mean by “taking over?” They took that institution over a loooooong time ago.
What “dilemma” is there? Just get rid of it or send it to a museum. There’s no need for all the performative bullshit.
You gotta be more clear with your marketing, people. “Helpline” could mean more than one thing.
Ahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Get a second amendment, people. Then you can threaten people in a civilized manner. Or shoot these lizard people. It’s up to you.
Wow, that’s the tits. Literally. (Yes, its SFW.)
I honestly believe these people would complain about anything. More=bad. Less=bad. Funny I don’t hear the visitors complaining, just the activists.
Such a fun song. From a really fun band. And here’s another for you. Enjoy them both.
And enjoy this lovely Friday and weekend, dear friends.

Way to fold, pussies. Although it comes as no surprise.
This is why people who disagree with Democrats don’t bother voting for Republicans. What’s the fucking point when they will just give the Dems what they want anyway.
I have days (and seemingly more all the time) where that’s pretty much where I am.
Also, they see the writing on the wall. The Dems are about to get the open borders of their dreams in a few short months. I would not want to be a college co-ed walking along the shore in Chicago next semester.
Isnt ICE/CBP funded thru 2029 anyway? So Im not sure how big a cave this is except come January 2027, but even then, I doubt it will be some super majority in eaither houses to make much moves.
The Dems will take both houses in the midterms and cancel that funding if they can, would be my guess.
funded thru 2029
Seriously doubt that – operations and maintenance money has a one-FY lifespan.
Cato opined otherwise ji
Yeah, budget isn’t appropriation. They can only spend what is appropriated and I would guess the budget bit is to allow them to spend (at that level) under continuing resolutions (vice proper annual appropriations). I used to deal with RDT&E funding in DoD and that was considered golden because it was good across two FYs.
The democrats are focused on their evil goals, and willing to do anything and everything to get them. The republicans just want to enjoy the benefits of power without any serious effort expendatures.
It is practically never about their voters…,
This is how they behave with both houses of Congress and the Presidency. They don’t even pretend to fight for the mandate that got them there.
It is almost like the House and Senate is made up of individuals, all of whom report to the individuals who elected them.
The nerve of these people!
all of whom report to the individuals who elected them
BWAHAHAhahahahahahaha
JI, the individuals who ‘elected’ them does not include the voters.
Yes, JI, it was the Joooooos and the Illuminati that elected them…
Aren’t you the one who is always going on about how there is no cheating in the elections here?
Once a politician scrapes their way into office, friction and inertia keep them there. Thus, the voters are no longer useful, and they can be discarded. There’s no conspiracy about it – just incentives generated by the system.
Which is why Biden and Carter were both voted out after one term, why AOC was voted in against an incumbent, and so on.
ZWAK, I was amused by the “report to the individuals”.
Voters are for the most part morons, who vote party affiliation over all other considerations. Cheating isn’t necessary with that.
AOC was voted in against an incumbent
Yep, she won the primary, with a tiny fraction of the district’s eligible votes. Then she beat him again in the general when he ran as not a Democrat, as well as the token Republican on the ballot.
You described three excellent exceptions that prove the rule. Biden, Carter, whoever that simp who AOC beat out was, and lets add Trump term #1. All these cases were subject to unusual external forces that overcame the friction of incumbency.
So, being part of a team matters, in other words.
Thus, QED, voters matter, whether they show up or not.
QED, ES, voters matter. There is no “exception that proves the rule”, there is simply the facts.
(and, yes, Trump V1 should be included.)
Three (four) unusual cases doesn’t disprove the general trend established by hundreds, probably thousands, of perpetual incumbents.
We will see what happens with Massie in this upcoming primary. AOC won the primary because Crowley didn’t even do anything – just assumed his name being on the ballot was all that was necessary.
Yes, most politicians stay in power against challengers, but whether that is simple inertia, devil you know, or actually delivering the goods to the voters in the district is up for debate in every single one of these contests. Which, again, makes that simple rule worthless.
Driving a wedge through conservatives is easier than a hot knife through butter.
MAGA went the way of the Tea Party and Ross Perot’s Reform Party.
And in 2023, the then president, Luis Lacalle Pou, announced that the sculpture would be melted down and recast – only to backtrack days later after a public outcry.
We could’ve used that guy in Richmond a few years ago.
I don’t understand all of this uproar over a swastika.
It’s like we are medieval peasants scared of an evil talisman.
Same thing with the whole retarded N-word thing.
Symbols and words only have power if you let them have power, why do the idiots insist on giving things power?
The people that actually fought the Nazi’s and grew up in the aftermath of WWII were not afraid of the symbols, I remember an episode of the Carrol Burnett show where Harvey Korman was dressed in a full Nazi uniform running a restaurant and it was hilarious.
Don’t mention the war!
Because they want power over you.
One of my favorite jokes of all time:
Basil: Is there something wrong?
German: Will you stop talking about the war?
Basil: Me? You started it.
German: We did not start it!
Basil: Yes, you did. You invaded Poland.
Modern humans, medieval peasants, slaves laboring in the earliest agriculture, nomadic herdsmen, and stone age hunter gatherers are all human beings with all the flaws humans are prone to, that includes culturally forbidden acts and symbols becoming imbued with a mystical taboo status.
Seattle has a Lenin statue. When we got the thing, it was in an ironic joke “Hey, look what I picked up at the USSR rummage sale”. Nowadays, I’m pretty sure half the city sees it as aspirational and I think maybe we should have just melted it down.
I have a poster of Saddam Hussein in my garage that I got in Iraq.
I always thought my poster was funny.
My mom, who was a great believer in the power of words and symbols, was appalled.
why do the idiots insist on giving things power
Because then they don’t have to be responsible. Don’t underestimate how much the average person doesn’t want to actually be responsible for themself.
Fawlty Towers was made 30 years after the end of WWII. Soldiers who fought in the war would have been in their 50s and 60s. So it would have been very much within living memory.
For comparison, 9/11 was 25 years ago. And that wasn’t nearly as bad, by literal orders of magnitude, as WWII.
I’ll take it.
It would be a cool addition to my colection of weird stuff.
I read that a Boston paper also ran an article flogging a moral panic because the number of calls to their gambling helpline had doubled.
They need to ask a taxi driver…
To be fair, gambling is a tax on stupid people.
Yeah, but they all had a sure thing.
Nah, the people who expect to win shouldn’t be gambling.
They’re not: they’re raking off the vig.
Gambling is not about the winnings. it’s about the entertainment along the way.
One birthday I was in Kentucky, went to Churchill Downs and bet on the horses. My allocated betting pool ran out and I stopped. The last race there were only four horses, and I managed to pick the one that came in third. (The bet I’d placed would have paid out for 1st or 2nd place).
I was buying entertainment (and the buffet).
Back when dog racing was legal, I’d deliberately place show bets and make enough to cover my bar tab. Oddly enough the overwhelming majority of bartenders at the Houston dog track had never heard of a greyhound.
The point of going there was never the gambling (for me) though, it was just to hang out with friends.
My brother said that every time he drove by an Indian casino he just threw $20 out the window, saved time and didn’t need to look for a parking spot.
When the boys want to play poker at deer camp, I just toss a $20 on the table and continue with whatever else I was doing. It’s not going back in my wallet whether I play or not. Also, I’m a sore loser.
A staffing shortfall coupled with increased visitor numbers has already wreaked havoc at parks, and Chakrin fears this trend will continue. Delicate alpine meadows, shallow sequoia roots and other fragile resources will be trampled and destroyed without enough staff present to educate visitors.
You’d think that a simple “Keep Off The Grass” sign would be enough, but that would obscure the point, which is “Give Us Money.”
Also the people who don’t keep off the grass don’t, as a group, match the demographics of the general population or park goers?
“educate” [eye-roll]
Without more funding people will be hanging political signs on the rocks in Yosemite. Oh wait, that was the rangers doing that.
I will never forget when we went to Ranier nat park and were walking down a trail as a kid. I took three steps off the trail to look at a flower and some asshole in a smoky bear hat came out from behind a tree and started yelling at me. I was maybe eight.
I cried, complained to my parents that he wasent on the path and I just wanted to look at the flower not pick it.
I hate the park service even more today.
Sell every square inch of it.
Why didn’t you shiv the guy in his femoral artery?
Re: cocaine sharks,
Many (most) automatic identification libraries for GC-MS tool were designed for drug use either in discovery and/or law enforcement. When they can’t find an actual match they can/do revert to what they know best, “identifying” the compound as an illegal drug.
I cannot tell you ow many times my GC-MS has tried to tell me various fun substances were in our fab air. Unlike Fillory, people are not clamoring to return to that workspace.
I’m not sure I’d want to breathe Fab Air.
It was the safest place to be during A Pandemic!
Some people like to do situps there to take advantage of the Ab Fab effect.
“Fab Air” sounds like a flamboyant airline.
Clean room confidential…….after hours behind the ion implanter. Where putting the P in the N did not go as expected.

IMP techs are the people most likely to kill me by accident. They kept sending us so many arsenic-crusted parts that the swore were clean that we had to get management involved.
😱
Those people are like the bomb squad. They get accustomed to high voltage, poison gas, and high kinetic energy as part of their day.
Their grounding lances are quite impressive. I never could figure out a way of smuggling the centimeter-thick braided copper cables out of the boneyard. Not to sell, they just looked cool.
That sounds like a great article waiting to be written, NA.
That desperate are we?
Lemme think. I guess I could search for images online, ’cause the people who pay me would be deeply concerned if I showed real ones to you guys.
I bet the “Cocaine bear” people are gonna sue for someone stealing their idea…
Need to set “Cocaine Shark” to the tune of “Baby Shark”.
Cocaine Sharknado!
With a J.J. Cale guitar riff?
Yes! Call the SyFy Channel, let’s get this going.
I think you guys just got a multi billion dollar blockbuster idea OFf MY POST, and I want my piece of that pie!!!
Sounds like they’re into all kinds of substances so maybe it should be vague. “Junkie Shark”?
There’s got to be a place for Golden Cracky in this.
Bailed after S01/book 1 – worth it?
I bailed before the last season, which means the second-to-last probably turned me off of the series. I don’t remember specifics, but I do remember a few interesting ideas that nobody else seemed to find interesting.
I enjoyed both the books and the series. The first season mostly follows the first book, but after that they diverge wildly (the second book and the second series have the same concept, but that’s about it). Both go dark as hell, so it’s hard for me to recommend them.
You don’t like dark as hell?
What the hell is wrong with you.
rhywun:
I love dark as hell, but I feel guilty recommending it to people who don’t quite have the same taste. As an example, look up the author John Barnes. He’s got several series (Century Next Door, Thousand Cultures, Timeline Wars, Jak Jinnaka, and Daybreak off the top of my head). The Thousand Cultures and Century Next Door are the ones I prefer (with Daybreak and the Jak series much lower down).
Thousand Cultures is set in the far future after mankind has colonized worlds by sending one way ships based on different cultures. The series starts just as FTL travel (jumpgate style) has been discovered, and the characters are working trying to help isolated cultures blend into the new galaxy wide culture.
Century Next Door bounces through various times set in the near to far future. In this one, Memes (sentient AI viruses that can propagate to human brains and take them over) were developed and began a world war striving for dominance over Earth. Most of the books take place in far away outposts, with Kaleidoscope Century (which was my entry to the series) doing the bulk of the world building from our time to the time of the books.
If you like dark, give him a chance. Bare in mind, the only person I’ve encountered who has read this author without me loaning them a book is Sugarfree.
Cool. I will add him to the list.
Dude needs to get the rest of his shit on Kindle. There are weird gaps.
My 3 hours of online training didnt save my progress yesterday. My motiviation to go thru it again is diminished.
Fortunately my latest round of mandatory training could be backgrounded.
No one showed up for the mandatory training and it was cancelled?
In Government, the training would proceed regardless of attendance. Gotta grift better
Sharks in the Bahamas are consuming substances including caffeine, painkillers and even cocaine, according to a new study by marine scientists who say it could potentially impact the animals’ health and behavior.
I’m not really sure what to mako this.
They are really trying to hammer it down, aren’t they? But the leopard will never change it’s spots!
You don’t? I’d say there’s a bunch of heads hammered.
Trump sank all the cocaine loaded boats and it was the sharks that were there as welfare recipients.
I blame whites.
Great Whites? White-Tipped Reef Sharks?
Yes, I’m going to Nurse this pun until it’s sour as a Lemon…

It ain’t much, but it’s honest work.
We need to nip this pun thread in the bud
Areola don’t think I want to hear any more about this story.

I was moobed by this story.

Same with the self described ‘conservative’ Hunter type.

Related to his district, this year will be the first time the cafeteria at work is having a Dyngus Day menu.
This is the same cafeteria that celebrated St. Paddy’s with corned beef an red cabbage, braised with vinegar, apples and raisins.
Red cabbage
Way the hell out of my district. That’s Trumbull county, you know… Traficant country.
It’s not too late to plan a trip. Girlfriend and I are planning on heading up.

That’s fantastic.

This war has a rhythm that will continue.
Over the weekend, Trump will say and do batshit crazy stuff.
Before the market opens on Monday, Trump’s kids make some inside trades, then Trump announces peace talks and the war is almost over.
On Tuesday, the Israelis will try to blow up whoever is negotiating.
The rest of the week is a shit show of contradictory nonsense out of the White House.
Rinse and repeat.
Boots on the ground by next Wednesday?
All hail the third term of Bush. We’ll find those wily weapons of mass destruction this time!
I am glad I am out of the Marine Corps and doubly glad my son is out also.
Glad my son decided against that giant enlistment bonus the Air Force offered him to be a forward air controller.
Maybe they think if we occupy some worthless piece of Iran’s east coast, they’ll negotiate.
I worry it’ll just be an opportunity for them to put endless videos of Americans being killed by drones on the Internet.

It turns out picking my bracket at random because I do not watch basketball at all was not a winning strategy.
All the college basketball fans I work with don’t do any better. Some older lady who picked randomly is winning right now.
Wasn’t it last year that against all odds, the Final Four was all one seeds?
You picked North Carolina. I figure you were picking with your heart.
“A disgraced middle school teacher in New Jersey was arrested Thursday after her former student claimed she had sex with him in her car — and even in her classroom.
Ashley Fisler, 36, taught social studies at the Orchard Valley Middle School in Washington Township, Gloucester County, from 2014 to 2023, New Jersey 101.5 reported. Her purported victim — now an adult — alleged the pair had a sexual relationship while he was her pupil in 2021.”

Pelrine was arraigned on charges including three felony counts of aggravated rape of a child with force and one count of aggravated statutory rape of a child.”

What the hell is wrong with people?
I honestly don’t get the attraction these grown ass woman have to young teenage boys.
The kindest explanation is that they remain attracted to what they were first attracted to. Which is why cheerleader/Catholic schoolgirl outfits are a kink. Perhaps is there was a stereotypical outfit that boys were wearing when girls entered puberty the teachers would have have a more acceptable outlet.
I remember teenage girls being attracted to older guys.
And some dudes are into Stiffler’s mom.
I honestly don’t get the attraction these grown ass woman have to young teenage boys.
In this case, she’s 36. She’s entering the stage where she doesn’t get noticed as much and the guys she is dating (who are most likely older) are starting to need Viagra. The teenager doesn’t care about her age and can bang all night without Viagra.

Ban algorithms.
Without that they have no business model.
That is why if this continues, the industry is dead.
They would still have a business with a completely neutral platform. It wouldn’t make as much money though.
Ban idiots.

We used to not have so many warnings and protections on things. The idiot problem would take care of itself. Now we save them from themselves for some reason.
“Furious Southwest Airlines customers are sounding off over the carrier’s controversial new policy — which critics have slammed as a so-called “fat tax” after one traveler was allegedly forced to cough up nearly $1,000 for a second seat.
Earlier this year, Southwest Airlines enacted its eyebrow-raising policy change, requiring passengers who can’t fit between armrests to purchase an additional seat in advance — or risk being hit with the charge at the airport.”
https://nypost.com/2026/03/27/lifestyle/southwest-airlines-new-fat-tax-policy/
Airlines should charge by the pound like shipping and freight companies.
I paid for the space from armrest to armrest. I ain’t giving that space up to some fat fuck.
They can buy pallet space on a cargo plane then.
“Controversial”? I thought various airlines were already doing this?
I think SW doing it was controversial. They were the “anything goes, just get your cheap ass on the six plane connecting flights from St Louis to Vegas” type of airline.
I got screwed by a super-sized fatty on a Southwest flight once.
The guy was so fat that he forced two of us in our row to sit sideways. Luckily it was only from Mpls to Chicago (50 minutes) so it wasn’t the end of the world.
Southwest was great about it when I complained afterwards. They coughed up a nice voucher that allowed me to take Mrs. Holiness on a nice little vacation.
NTTIAWWT
Mile High and Wide Club baby!
They should make those fatties fly in the hold in cattle pens so they pay less?
fat people these days have it worse than slaves on a ottoman galley
Airlines should charge by the pound like shipping and freight companies.
Bring the same efficiencies that containers brought to shipping to the airlines. Don’t rent a seat, rent a container. You and your bags get into whatever size container you buy and are loaded into the airplane.
Loading would be so much more efficient. No pesky seat mates. No need for stewardesses.
“JD Vance confronted Benjamin Netanyahu in a tense phone call, accusing the Israeli leader of being overly optimistic about the chances of regime change in Iran….
‘Before the war, Bibi really sold it to the President as being easy, as regime change being a lot likelier than it was. And the VP was clear-eyed about some of those statements,’ a source told Axios.
Vance, who reportedly advised Trump against going to war with Iran, was appointed by the President to help lead negotiations to end the conflict.
A day after Vance’s call with Netanyahu, a Right-wing Israeli news outlet owned by GOP donor Miriam Adelson reported that the Vice President had yelled at Netanyahu over Israeli settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
White House officials, who described the story as false, began suspecting that Israelis planted it to try to smear Vance.
An Israeli official denied that Netanyahu had planted the story and said his office issued a full denial when approached by reporters.”

who knows?
Was Netanyahu’s denial delivered in the Francis Urquhart form?
Thank you for mentioning Urquhart. There are no others.
No one in their right mind would sell that as easy, so I have problems believing that one.
In soccer news, Northern Ireland and Ireland both went out of the WC knockout qualifiers, as did Wales and Ukraine.

Scott Adams used to say “Democrats don’t know how anything works.” These people just ignore human nature and foreseeable consequences, because “it just feels like we should do this”.
There’s an important subtext in there, that I’ve brought up before.
Progressives want to be seen as good people. They want to be seen as doing good, because they know on a pre-conscious level that they are spiteful, amoral, malevolent narcissists. That unexamined narcissism is a huge part of what keeps them from being able to extrapolate secondary and tertiary (and often even primary) effects of their opinions.
Good morning everyone! This morning at the gym one of our members personally invited me to the No Kings protest in town tomorrow. She’s quite excited about it. But she’s also 70. I told her I wasn’t a protest kind of guy. I didn’t have the heart to tell her the only protest I’ve ever attended was for the Tea Party and that didn’t work out at all how I wanted.
Go to the No Kings protest and sabotage it.
It would be fairly easy to mess with these people because they have no agenda. The civil rights protests worked because they had a concrete goal – ending segregation. Same with ending wars, gay marriage, etc.
No Kings is just a bunch of people who don’t like Trump. They’re not for or against anything other than that. Like my wife said, we already know they hate Trump, they’re just getting together to shout it with other people.
I suggested to the wife that I go to the local No Kings rally on Saturday with a “No Commissars Either” sign. She asked if my will was up to date or if I enjoyed being pummeled by AWFLS.
Just don’t turn around.
didn’t work out at all how I wanted -the government became too small for your taste after all the cutbacks?
Yes. It got really inconvenient stepping over all the dead bodies in the street.
Put a cow-catcher on your wheelchair.
We had an NO ICE protest on Main Street in Suffolk VA a few weeks ago.
About a dozen old people waving signs, very impressive.
There were quite a few people going through the intersection honking at the HONK IF YOU HATE ICE sign though.
Literal “virtue signaling”.
Ugh I hate people.
Yeah, there are a couple old bags in my building who invited me to one of the previous ones. I think I sort of snorted and said, “I don’t think so.” I was too taken aback by their presumptuousness to maybe be a little less impolite.
This is one of our customers, so we just politely decline and change the subject. We try to keep the gym a “no politics” zone, and we’ve been pretty successful so far. If all of life were like that, everyone would be much happier.
Please tell me your direct quote was “Thanks, but that’s not how I roll”.
Our No Kings protests are going to be lit because The Boss and Bernie are here to lead us to a brave new future.
People can understand what Bruce is saying?
Out here on the prairie, I think Bernie will have a harder time being understood with his accent.
We also have Jane Fonda and Joan Baez showing up!
I feel like they are dissing King Walz, though, with their sticking with No Kings? Shouldn’t it be No Tyrants here?
OFFS! Given that none of those countries have anything close to even the “freedoms” we have left, that is really fucking rich.
It’s a giant group therapy session for people with TDS. And like most modern therapy, they’ll walk away having their feelings validated and nothing else.
“It’s Julia Caesar! 1,700–year–old mosaic proves FEMALE gladiators fought animals in the arena – and were often topless to ‘arouse the crowd'”
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-15684133/Roman-mosaic-FEMALE-gladiators-fought-animals.html
No, it doesn’t.
The idea of some female slaves being thrown to the lions in the Circus Maximus, to get the crowd fired up with a little T&A, wouldn’t shock me any more than the existence of women’s MMA does today.
GLOW is not new.
Damn, I remember the Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling.
Female rishiki were much slenderer than the men, but wore the same outfit in the ring.
And were available for private meetings outside the ring.
“But Mr Mañas argues that the gender and role of the individual is obvious, thanks to the inclusion of breasts and her ‘feminine’ facial features.”
I wonder how many of these “major discoveries” were based on art made by an artist who wasn’t very good. Or something that was done as a parody. We can’t detect sarcasm in text messages, but we can in 1700 year old mosaics.
How do we know that gladiator didn’t identify as a male?
If it was during the decline of the Roman Empire, I’d guess there were crazies who insisted that if the gladiator insisted on pretending to be a male, then there was no way to keep [him] out of the arena.
Daily Ray of Sunshine
Another good one, I am slightly colorblind, being totally colorblind is something I can’t wrap my head around.
One of my Marines in artillery was so colorblind that when he was sent out to set up the aiming lights(one is red and one is green on different length stakes) we would have to set them on the proper posts for him.
At least he got to keep his MOS.
Half the people at NAS Memphis (where I trained to repair navigational aids equipment) were there to become air traffic controllers. It was astonishing how many of them were washed out before their training even began because of eye tests. Mostly because they had a tiny amount of color blindness.
This eye test could have been given to them before they enlisted. Instead those poor fools lost their seat in training and were reassigned to other MOS’ at the convenience of the Corps.

Younger me would have tried, I was pretty fast, but not as fast as that guy.
Casually recruiting 15 female students at the local university who’ve been strangled… at least four times in the last 30 days.

I think this is the paper referenced.
Bullshit.
Confusing cause and effect?
I have a marker for brain damage after reading that thread.
“Over 100 human rights, sports and scientific groups have criticised the International Olympic Committee’s new gender eligibility guidelines as “a blunt and discriminatory response that is not supported by science and violates international human rights law”.
The IOC’s new guidelines, announced on Friday, mandate genetic sex tests for all athletes competing in its women’s categories, as well as blanket bans of people who identify as transgender, intersex or with sex differences.”
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2026/mar/27/olympics-transgender-women-athlete-ban-human-rights-response-ntwnfb
SCIENCE!!
No kidding?
Not exactly what I would have expected from the IOC…
Look, if there are no male advantages in athletics (as we are assured is the case with trans wanting to compete as women), then all athletic events should be open regardless of gender. No 100m dash for women and one for men – just ONE 100m dash.
Name just one world record having to do with physical speed or strength in which the female record is greater than the male record.
Sad Guardian. 😞
I think the tranny wars are officially over when you’ve lost the IOC.
And I love that bullshit conflation – the first two are completely different and unrelated phenomena and who knows WTF “sex differences” is supposed to mean.
Also “identify”.
My favorite proggie urban geographer explains how easy it is to save Gaia. Give him props though, he is still for high gas prices to get stupid Americans out of their cars.
Anyone want to explain to him where the electricity for those EV’s comes from?
Uffda. I’m a chronic turner on left red arrows, I can’t imagine the stupidity of no right turns on red.
I used to be, but there are too many cameras in SW VA.
Yeah. Keeping cars idling at lights for a once in a lifetime pedestrian on rural routes is worth it.
“Tens of thousands of people died from this new policy”
doubt
“Other countries pivoted when faced with high oil prices, for example by investing in high-speed rail”
California enters the chat.
I’m still waiting for high speed rail from my neighborhood to the grocery store. Until then I will continue to drive.
Until then I will continue to drive.
No the solution you will learn to love is being in a walkable, 15-min neighborhood.
lol Y’all know I’m a city boy but this guy is just an embarrassment.
Our old neighbor was from Switzerland (and she loved puns). We have kept in touch with her since then.
She was excited to move back, but once there started lamenting how some things worked. For example, she was complaining about how hard it was to buy a new vacuum.
Aside from the fact that her choices were limited, once she bought the thing she had to lug it onto a train and then up a bunch of steps to her house. She told us that she missed being able to drive up to the door of a big box store and having it loaded up and then driving back to her garage with it.
Work at home was the one massive win for reducing fuel usage. EVs are just a blip on the savings horizon in comparison.
I see Australia and other parts of the world are back to lockdown due to fuel shortages. Wondering what gas price point something similar starts here.
Where do you see that, because I haven’t seen anything like that at all.
Gas prices here are not even eyebrow raising. $3.30 for regular. Now in recent memory it was $2.50, so it has gone up.
Gas prices were higher under Biden.
It’s all speculative right? Donald’s brain farts drive it up or down more than any actual supply and demand.

Nothing whatsoever in that article implies lockdowns, let alone mention it explicitly.
The idea that used EVs have ‘minimal maintenance costs’ is so stupid that only a proggie could believe it…
His tips for using mass transit to reduce fossil fuel consumption.

He is Captain Obvious addressing a five-year-old.
Taxes on time are the worst of all taxes. You can make more marginal dollars but you can’t make more marginal time.
Anyone want to explain to him where the electricity for those EV’s comes from?
the wall???
He links to this story for his tips on making walking a more important part of your life.
Why would I walk, when I have a truck to drive?
I ask this as someone who does a lot of loaded walking for exercise and recreation.
The last time I debated buying a car I concluded that it’s only worth it if you drive the thing absolutely everywhere.
I see a lot of folks own a car and only use it occasionally – yeah, I’m not made of money here.
The local rag ran a story the other day about the TN lady arrested because of AI by Fargo cops.
Take all of this with a grain of salt. It was written by the Strib’s “Rubes in the Mist” journalo.
“Brandlin told the LA Times he had witnessed several near misses involving kids — including his son, who was almost hit by a bike. ”
OMG, this guy thinks bicycles stop at stop signs.
If there’s other vehicles in sight (even kids in wagons), I stop. If the road is clear in all directions, I’ll generally roll through.
The problem isn’t that the bridge cost over $100 million. The problem is that the wrong people noticed.

Makala Gibson’s notes shows the planting locations of various native vegetation at the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing in Agoura Hills, Calif., on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026.
Animals won’t cross if we let plants grow however they want. How much is the follow on contract to maintain the plan?
And this is only acceptable when WE DO IT!!! It is appalling misinformation when the other side does it.
The problem is that they are trying to build something in California.
LOL they are nothing if not predictable there
F1 is in Japan this weekend, which is starting to mean less and less to me every time I see these new cars trotted out.
Watch the in car video/audio. Those cars are fucked. Fifteen gears and never in the right one. But it sounds like a supersonic vacuum cleaner.
I watched The Aviator last night. It was good.

With pressure mounting, the White House had floated the extraordinary move of invoking a national emergency to pay TSA agents, while senators were reviewing a “last and final” offer from Republicans to Democrats to end the funding impasse at the Department of Homeland Security.
Details of the president’s plan were not immediately available, but a national emergency declaration would be politically fraught and almost certain to face legal challenges. Instead, the president may simply be shifting money from other sources.
The swamp abides.
The guy installed stops signs for only $1000. He made the city look bad. He does nice work.
Have we covered the scourge of Gay Predators?
Surely Tonio is all over this?
Just one more reason I don’t follow the NHL
“Hellman’s is finally answering the question on everyone’s minds: Is mayonnaise an instrument?
The question was infamously first posed about 25 years ago by the lovable starfish Patrick on “SpongeBob Squarepants,” and now there’s finally an answer.
The beloved mayo brand worked with Dr. Rachael Durkin, Head of Global Music Technologies at Northumbria University, and her team of experts to see if scientifically, mayonnaise could be considered an instrument.”
https://nypost.com/2026/03/27/lifestyle/yes-mayonnaise-is-an-instrument-according-to-science/
SCIENCE!!
We really need to get on that gravy train.
“[The piece] is almost in this brand of ‘We’re exposing this controversy,’” Villaseñor told SFGATE. “And when you actually look at the facts behind what they’re presenting, there really is no controversy. They talk about this project as this ‘bridge to nowhere’ and a ‘boondoggle.’ In my book, a boondoggle is not something that has a completion date for later this year and is only in the fifth year of construction.”
Your book is wrong.
“Doing well that which should not be done at all…”
