Well, here we are on April 18th. Tax season is over and my bank account reflects it. My house in the Gulch is still torn up, waiting on the insurance company to get it’s shit together. Because of my foot, which is just now about normal, the garden has barely been touched. I’ve missed the cold weather vegetables and am scrambling to get the beds ready for the warm weather stuff. Glad Christina Ricci found a good home. Very-Young Ev sensed a kindred spirit in her in Addams Family, and 12yo Ev had a massive crush on her in Sleepy Hollow, very much a silly film, but it kinda knows it and it’s very pretty.
Tim Burton has made some really bad flicks, but I like his visual style and he’s made enough legit classics to offset the strikeouts.

Time to clean up my room and the converted closet-into-office setup. (Re)Training starts Monday, and I’ve got my new assignment:
Missouri Grade Level Assessments – Grade 8 Writing. Well. Last time it was 4th graders. So the new kids’ work ‘should’ be longer than before, but I’m not yet sure of their grading metrics. For the younger kids, and I fairly guess for the older ones, it was just a 1-5 ‘grade.’
There may be one grade for composition ideas and another for ‘mechanics,’ grammar and such. I’m curious if we’ll be expected to evaluate the responses as fast (how many/hr) as last time, though I forget the details regarding such.
My final weekend before I begin my first ‘regular’ schedule for the first time in two years when I last did this. I’m not on the Meijer schedule this week, but I’ll go in to get Saturday’s added on. I s’pose that’ll end the 5-days aspect of ‘normal’ scheduling, but without working any early or late shifts, it’ll still be a welcome reprieve.
