Ha! Taken in sequence, as I did, great setup and punchline.

Me like orc. Human okay. Elves and Undead, no. Only campaign me play.

  2. Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

    Modern D&D.

Where some loon thinks Orcs represent black people.

    • Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

      I meant #1, dammit.

      • Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

That right there is neat. Logical. They would of course look different by tribe and location. Unless by some whim of their God demanded uniformity. Which is certainly possible.

Orcs are great enemy, I think.

      • DEG

For BECMI, Bruce Heard in GAZ10 is the one that fleshed out the different tribes of humanoids (orcs, gnolls, hobgoblins, goblins, and the like). I’m unaware of anything earlier in the BECMI series having different tribes of humanoids. I don’t remember off the top of my head if AD&D had anything like it at that time or earlier.

      • UnCivilServant

That website does not help me figure out what the acronym stands for.

      • UnCivilServant

        Thank you.

I started in 2nd edition, so am unfamiliar with the rulesets before that.

Lore… worldbuilding was always fun so I know little of the official lore.

    • J. Frank Parnell

No, the orcs are Mexican now.

      • Threedoor

Have you even seen a Guatemalan?

No. They are too small. Never mind.

  3. Grumbletarian

I like these. The last one is damn funny.

#3: Yeah, but when elves try to speak orc-bonics they get charged with racial appropriation and furthering negative stereotypes.

    • rhywun

      “orc-bonics” lol

  4. Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

    #2 is Orc-tifa.

  5. UnCivilServant

Don’t fall for the Greenskin propaganda. Support your local adventurers in culling the hordes.

    • Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

I hear that Orc wimminz are quite attractive. You should do some research online, and let us know what you find.

      • Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

        I like that picture.

She looks like a girl that would stab you if you didn’t buy her fishes.

      • Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

        Nice.

Reminds me of a joke that I shant repeat.

  6. Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

#3 is an Orc pedo. Those are kids.

      • Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

        Their appearance is deceiving.

        That’s your Human bias showing.

  7. Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

#4 is commentary on how poverty causes crime.

    • Threedoor

      Crime causes poverty.

      • Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

        I know that…
        You know that…
You know the type that repeats that old nonsense…

      • Threedoor

And if we break a few windows just think of the positive economic impact!

  8. DrOtto

I’m appropriating that line from the last one. Re: the refrigerators being turned off in the ded-thred – if state-owned grocery stores had this happen, it likely wouldn’t be a problem since they won’t have inventory anyways.

    • Threedoor

A handful of white cans with black labels.

      GENERIC

Is it refried beans or cat food?

  9. Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

#5 The Orc is actually Q.

The elf woman is distracting him with her naughty bits.

  10. Evan from Evansville

Growing up with Warcraft II, I don’t know why I always loved the orcs. We had GURPS, if anyone remembers that, and older bro and I never played, but I loved to read the ‘guide book’ or whatever, same with Werewolf: Apocalypse. Humans were cool in their own way, I s’pose. WCIII, same-same, but the humans were a lot of fun with the multiple-peon building.

The prologue clip from Warcraft II? Holy fuck. I was enthralled as a kid. This may have been 10-12yo Ev in ’97-’99.

Sadly I don’t get to vote against her now.

      • UnCivilServant

I donno, you’re probably still registered in NYC and Ithaca.

      • rhywun

        Ha, true.

  11. kinnath

Carrying over from the dead thread:

Does anyone have experience with the product?

    https://pchrome.com/

Puts a mirror finish on any substrate. Literally mirror-making technology to lay down silver.

    • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

I had a conversation with an old hot rodder about that stuff. He was interested as chrome was becoming more and more difficult to source. Never heard back about it though.

      • Threedoor

There is a chrome shop in Spokane that does good work from what I have heard.

      • kinnath

        Thanks Threedoor.

From what little I have been able to gather, there are few places that still do chrome, there are long lead times, and it’s expensive.

I am waiting to hear back from a shop in Brainerd MN (I was just there a month ago — my timing sucks).

So, I am now looking at alternatives.

A DIY mirror finish with pretty traditional (and sort of benign) chemistry looks quite appealing.

      • Threedoor

Inland empire Plating is the one I believe is the one my uncle has used and a paving shop I’m familiar with uses when rebuilding their trucks.

      • kinnath

Doesn’t look like inland has a website

      • R.J.

        My experience is your experience.

  12. ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Christ in a casket. i cannot believe I am rooting for a Dodger Indians series.

what is this world coming to?

    • Threedoor

      Draft dodging indians?

    • Evan from Evansville

Woah. I’m happy as long as the Dodgers lose. Fuck 3x Champions. Boring. ‘Spend our way to winning!’ I don’t care, but it’s gonna mess up the current labor dispute.

Rays + Brewers win: Small-market teams going for their first Championship. (Also will mess up labor dispute. ‘See! They’re just as good!’)
Cleveland: Chase DeLauter! Yeee! And end their Championship drought.

Dodgers: Uh? Duh, they can win. They’ve done it. Um? Unless from LA or a foreigner, I’ll always think bandwagon. Fuck that.

      • dbleagle

I am hoping the Brewers knock off LA. No great care about the AL. The Indians did spring training in Tucson for decades. We would ride our bikes to the stadium after school and get into the games for free.

Now that they have dropped their name, they are dead to me.

      • Evan from Evansville

Oooh. Very valid. I’ve been vocal about my hatred of that new name.

I want Brewers v Rays. It’d would be best, and likely the lowest ratings. Both of ’em are just gooood. Exciting, yet low-key good. Good Baseball good. Me likey.

      • rhywun

I have no skin but of the remaining teams my biases lie away from the west and south so Brewers and Injuns it is.
