“The only ones trained enough to handle firearms” Part Eleventy
https://x.com/calibremag/status/2114742103087747478
I think it’s perfectly reasonable to say, “If you can’t out-shoot me, you have no business telling me what I can and can’t own and carry.”
Some people disagree with this. I judge the intelligence of those people.
Lady cop.
Are you wearing your bulletproof vest?
From the dead thread discussion of the drawbacks of owning rental property, I repeat (and probably paraphrase) the wise words TT heard from an instructor during a commercial real estate appraisal continuing education class: A certificate of deposit will never call you in the middle of a cold winter night to tell you that the furnace is out.
Yeah I only rent from management companies now. I’ve lived in a few one-man operations and it both sucks and blows.
That said, I wouldn’t be that one-man operation unless it was really, really profitable and the Dems are doing everything in their power to make that not happen.
I think you have to have five or six properties and make it your full time job to make a one man show work, and then you need to run it like a management company and have more than one man.
Who’d a thunk it?
Apollo’s Torsten Slok focuses on what he calls the S&P 493 — the S&P 500, minus Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and Tesla — finding that profit margins and revenue per worker appear to be flat, with no evidence that AI is improving productivity.
“Despite massive investments and widespread hype around artificial intelligence, the technology has delivered zero financial payoff to corporate America outside of tech,” Slok said.
A few people at those companies have benefitted.
So… another ESG? All the wrongthinkers have been removed.
They are known as the “magnificent seven”. They drove the SP500 or past several years.
Every PM knows this – problem is if you underweighted them or heaven forbid zero weighted them you were going to severely underperform for the past 3 plus years.
What exactly does Meta produce?
The Metaverse, bro!
(Ad revenue, in practice)
“He’s dead, Jim”: https://www.tvline.com/2297074/walter-koenig-dead-star-trek-chekov-obituary/
Huh. I thought he was already gone. So just Shatt and “O, My!” left?
His kid died in a tragic accident some years ago. Maybe you’re remembering that.
Suicide, I think.
Koenig was also married for almost 50 years.
His kid died in a tragic accident some years ago.
Are you thinking of Anton Yelchin who played Checkov in the J.J. Abrams Trek?
He got pinned by his own car when it rolled back and nobody was around. Terrible way to go.
Anton Yelchin (Chekov in the new Star Trek films) was run over by his own car.
Oh right.
Don’t trust Stelantis products part 1542.
That sucks, I was looking at his wikipedia page and this was part of it:
I don’t understand this mindset.
Yes, the new Star Trek films were garbage, but why would you erase a character because an actor died?
I had the same questions about Black Panther.
It seemed more disrespectful to give the mantle to a 90 pound plank of wood.
Especially a replacement actor. He didn’t even originate the role.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Koenig
90 – wow. Nice run.
We’re running out of B5 cast members who can return.
For a relatively modern show, that cast was hit HARD.
They are going to need a rewrite. Sheridan was supposed to be dead before the others.
“AI may be a great calculator, but in business, intelligence is mostly judgment,” he wrote, later adding, “AI does not understand accountability, trust, culture, unwritten rules, ethical trade-offs or fairness, all of which shape reputational risk and ultimately drive revenue growth and profit margins.”
Don’t worry, governments are busily plotting the looting of productive, profitable business enterprises.
Oh, my. I just saaw “Fire Hochul” signs in an urban neghborhood. This is an area that normally doesn’t post political signs and is normally reliably blue.
But… she made school lunches free!
She’s the Lunch Lady!
I found a new liquor store that has cheap rye. I’ll write them up Soon(tm).
Next to the pumpernickel?
focus on the good rye not the cheap
If you’ve been reading the series from the beginning, you’ll know one of my pro-Rye propaganda points has been that good and cheap are not even vaguely exclusive with this particular whiskey style. Also that great rye can be made anywhere. Even Finland!
I just saaw “Fire Hochul” signs in an urban neghborhood.
Far right governess Hokum must go.
I just got a spam text from a candidate for Town Supervisor. Guess I know who I’m voting against!
Politicians and their allies are increasingly tone deaf. I was out in the front yard a few weeks back, about 90 degrees and high humidity, trying to hack up a (small) dead tree to get it out with the trash. Some campaigner decided this would be a good time to tell me why I should vote for someone.
It’s been mentioned in this forum recently, but those ads that seem to be popping up everywhere talking about how whether or not you voted is public record and your friends, neighbors, and loved ones may discover you didn’t vote strike me as insane. Yes, good idea. Let’s turn our country into East Germany where everyone rats each other out for supposedly bad behavior. These ads must work on the herd-minded types who are afraid of social ostracism. They’re funded by Future Forward USA, which is a big Democrat PAC.
The NFL has these vapid commercials where NFL players remind you that it’s important to vote and “It takes all of us.”
Is there an emptier slogan?
At least they don’t try to peer pressure you into it though.
I’m *still* getting frequent spam mailers from the state senate incumbent and I don’t live in that state anymore.
That doesn’t stop some people.
You’d think she’d train her flunkies to remove out-of-state residents when they’re updating their spam list but I guess that’s above their pay grade.
Dear PTB. I am most the way through drafting my next article. I should be able to post it tonight or tomorrow night at the latest.
As a side note, I dropped the frame at the powder shop. It will be done next week. Photos to follow shortly after.
There’s no spray can emoji in my windows emeoji selection 🙁
You kids can’t be trusted with that emoji. You’d be out tagging the forums with it.
Ohhh.
Pretty.
Never could have seen this coming…
Trump DOJ unlawfully fired Epstein prosecutor Maurene Comey, judge rules
https://www.cnbc.com/2026/10/26/maurene-comey-firing-unlawful-trump.html
Did the higher courts just rule on similar firings finding that yes, these people could be fired?
It’s an easy decision for most of the judges.
Did Trump do it?
If the answer is yes then they are correct to strike it down.
“I order reinstatement, unlimited budget, and independent authority to pursue whoever she wants.”
“Judge found dead by suicide, having unloaded six shotgun shells into the back of their head.”
“Was it really the head after the first?”
WTF?
Judge Jesse Furman ordered that Comey, who is the daughter of former FBI director James Comey, be retroactively reinstated to her job as an assistant United States attorney in the Southern District of New York. The judge also ordered that she receive back pay from July 16 through December 20, 2025, when he inferred that Comey accepted another job, in the ruling in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
Maurene Comey, who had been involved with prosecutions of Jeffrey Epstein, his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Sean “Diddy” Combs, was fired in July 2025. She later sued the Department of Justice, challenging its right to terminate her.
Think of all the money we’d save if we just eliminate the Executive branch and let let judges run the government.
This was the dummy who botched the Diddy prosecution.
If the court can overrule US attorneys being relieved for cause, then separation of powers is officially dead.
Judges can install their preference for us attorney in Washington and Trump can’t do anything about that one either.
Tell that to the vast majority of Americans who can, in fact, be fired “without reason”.
Lena released another 10-minute dryfire video, this one on movement.
https://youtu.be/f_cmE_U-YOg
If one were to do her basic dryfire video every day, plus one of her other ones – transitions, reloads, strong/weak hand, and now movement…that’s twenty minutes a day that would produce rapid improvements in one’s shooting skill.
Comey’s lawyers, in a statement Monday, said, “This hard-earned victory belongs to Ms. Comey, to all civil servants, and to all fighting for the rule of law.”
“As the Court correctly held, to accept the government’s argument about unlimited executive power ‘would be to unsettle the very equilibrium established by this Nation’s constitutional system,’” the lawyers said. “This decision reaffirms our bedrock system of checks and balances: the President is not above the law.”
What a steaming pile of hysterical nonsense. Trump did not shut down the entire DoJ, he merely replaced one employee with another. I can’t believe these people get away with characterizing everything as the end of civilization as we know it.
constitutional system
The one that establishes 3 branches? I don’t recall it mentioning the fourth “Justice” branch, nor anything about it being somehow independent from the Executive.
Five Things to Know About Audi’s First U.S. Factory

The fact that it is a “right to work” state is just purely a coincidence.
They will do like VW did and continue to try to get the union to take over. And be confused when the workers do not unite.
Comey, in a note to colleagues at the U.S. Attorney’s Office after she was fired, wrote, “If a career prosecutor can be fired without reason, fear may seep into the decisions of those who remain.”
“Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought. Instead of fear, let this moment fuel the fire that already burns in the heart of this place,” she wrote. “A fire of righteous indignation at abuses of power. Of commitment to seek justice for victims.”
I remember that. A government prosecutor whimpering about intimidation tactics. How droll.
JFC, I can’t imagine having a such a enormous blow-hard as a co-worker, who felt compelled to send me such a note when they got canned.
I’d thwo a party the day after such a petulent exit.
And yell”Fweedom!”
now my lithp is selth conscious.
Wait, no. I don’t have a lisp, I just type terribly.
Oh it’s twoo, it’s twoo!
Threatening people is the realm of senators …

The UK foreign secretary, Ed Miliband, called Lula’s victory “a historic win for the global progressive movement” and said his government looked forward to continuing to collaborate on “shared values of democracy, social justice and climate action”.

The European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, said: “Democracy and multilateralism have won in Brazil.”
Our man in Brazil.
