Two days after the election, the politicians keep politicianing. The usual suspects are screaming on both sides of the Dem/Rep line. Bureaucrats are being themselves. Journalists and pundits keep talking incessantly and thinking that what they have to say is important. In other news, water is wet.
While we wait to find out which group of power-hungry, mendacious, anti-Constitution people will be infringing on our liberty coming up in January, I’ve been Getting Stuff Done while pretty much ignoring all of the stuff happening in that previous paragraph. Except the part about water being wet. That’s actually useful.

Yeah, RCP is showing the Dems losing from 8-13 seats, and a 13 seat loss would put them at a very slim 4 seat majority. That plus a slim R lead in the Senate should put the brakes on the worst leftist impulses for the next two years.
It should be noted, however, that if there are any shenanigans going on with votes, it wouldn’t affect the House at all. The most shady vote reporting places have all been big cities, and any cheating done in a big city will be confined to its House districts, which are probably going blue fair and square anyways, so it would not move the needle a bit.
How bad is it? I can’t even tell from the Foxnews election results. And I don’t feel like digging into it, I’m trying to ignore the entire clusterfuck right now.
But the House dems still have the majority, why does it matter the numbers? +1 seat is still the majority.

Well, if the presidential election goes to the House, each State gets one vote, not each Rep. So, it might swing a state or two into the Republican camp. I believe they already had more states, but this assures it.

Where are the stuffed boxes in Michigan? The total congressional district vote is awfully damn close to the presidential vote in the state. And the main Detroit districts were below the average number of votes for the other districts (which would be a very weird way of stuffing via a Detroit Democratic machine).
Just curious, where are you getting that info? CNN was showing a 140,000 vote discrepancy between the presidential and congressional races. I haven’t looked at other sources, and there might be better info out there.

I’m warming towards electric vehicles. If they can get the range to the conventional equivalent of an oil change, I think they takeover. Simpler, less maintenance, improved performance, more quiet. I will miss ICE but I’m sure people missed their horses at first.

My very limited experience with them (Tesla model X) is that the ergos are a bit hinky even if the acceleraiton etc are good. Also range IS a performance metric.
Range and recharge time are the dealbreakers. If I can’t get four hundred miles on a ten minute transaction for refuelling/recharging, none of the other factors matter.
I’m here as well. Plus the electric vehicle batteries seem to still need some work to get to the point where the technology can maintain the theoretical range. It’s just anecdotal, but I’ve heard the vehicles don’t achieve/maintain the range they promise. I’m not against electric vehicles per se, but they still seem significantly inferior at present.
I had initially typed 500 miles (the theoretical range of my car) but remembered I only get 460 or so between fills, so I cut it to a true value.

I doubt there is any conceivable battery technology that would give a 5,000 mile range.
Onboard fusion or fission, sure. But that’s a loooong way off.
We might want to get to 500 mile range first, which would actually be pretty solid for me.
500 mile with a less than hour recharge would meet 90+% of commuter car requirements.
Get the battery longevity up to the equivalent of the typical rebuild mileage on a IC engine and you’re there.
I still think Elon was right to try at a fast battery swap. That has the potential to be faster than a gas up.
If you want to drive 500 miles with somewhere between 40-60 minutes spent charging you can do that today with a Model 3. You’d probably have to make 3 stops, but could be done on 2 (might actually take longer though)
I do a 400 mile trip with some regularity and I spend only 30 minutes charging. Most of that 30 minutes I’m occupied with food and bathroom break so it doesn’t really take but maybe 5 minutes more than the same trip on gas.

Believe it or not, most of the problems people think they’d have with an EV have been resolved, are very close to being resolved, or are are not as big of a downside as people imagine them to be.
I’ll spare everyone my usual long EV booster bit and just say that (ignoring price), if you have a way to charge it at home, 90% of people could fit one of today’s long range EVs (anything advertising 300+ miles of range) into their daily driving as well as their road trip driving, and they could do it without having to make any sacrifices*
I will hit on one thing however. “I need to be able to charge it in 10 minutes”
Its not as necessary as you’d think, its almost possible today, the 10 minute charge won’t be exactly what you expect, but it will satisfy even the toughest critic.
* Sacrifices start to become necessary to travel > 500 miles in a single day (>300 miles in winter)

Well, that is evident in the slow crawl on GA counts. I guess we have a new term to work with now “ballot curing”. Any courts that allow that are courts I don’t want to have to defend my actions in.

You don’t have to mark ballots on all choices. For instance, wife and I marked all our choices for Trump and for the local repug candidate for the House because he looks very solid on 2A and other important issues, and we voted NO to every spending ballot. But there were issues we did not have time to research and we left those out for obvious reasons.
So, yeah, you can fill out an incomplete ballot and I assume most low info voters do not have a clue who any of those people are or even what a ballot issue is. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised when people only fill out the Biden vs Trump part and leave the rest blank. We’re going to have to do a lot better than that to prove fraud.
Of course you do not HAVE to mark all choices. A couple instances I have left things blank. But if there were a significant number of ballots only marked for president I’d find that a bit odd, especially if the other ballot measures are down ticket races and not things like state constitutional amendments or referendums.

So Trump gives a rational speech outlining all of the fraud going on with clear details and locations. As I listened, I thought surely the press will at least give the very slightest token acknowledgement that fraud isn’t okay and these actions should be given at least a cursory and quickly covered up investigation.
Nope. As soon as he stops, the first question out of the press is a man screaming “Mr. President, are you a sore loser?!” Then another reporter yells at Kayleigh about not being a real press secretary.
This is exactly why I am torn on if he should shut up or not. The fact that he can come out and say the sky is blue today and the press will go on about anything other than what he said should have all people concerned about the major media companies and journalists.

I’d say the fraud is in one big bucket: the mail in ballots that were “returned” by people who did not vote in 2016.
That’s the issue I have with all this. You cannot tell me that there are 500,000 living human beings in Michigan who didn’t vote for Clinton but did vote for Biden. There’s also supposedly 250,000 of them in Wisconsin. Those are the two states that sent mail in ballots out to everyone. So supposedly there are 750,000 actual Biden votes between those two states that have an actual real life human being attached to them.
Baseline standard Philly/Detroit/Milwaukee/Atlanta fraud, leave that aside for the moment. Just go through those mail in ballots, and run a standard audit on them. Pull them at random, go knock on the door. See how many people say “Yes, thats my signature heres my ID” and how many are former roomates or tenants, or are dead people, or are proggie granddaughter filling out evil racist grandpas ballot for him.

The press conference you mentioned above. It streamed live on YouTube. Trump talked about the cardboard being taped over windows in locations in Nevada (maybe?). In Philadelphia they locked out observers and then made them stand 80 feet away so the observers were using binoculars. He said how they finally won a court case to allow observers within six feet and the Dems are appealing that and asked for what possible reason could they appeal a transparent count other than to commit fraud. A lot more details laid out at each battleground location.

I’m new to Benford’s theory, but the search results on Benfords theory I’ve seen showed that its usage did uncover fraud in an Iranian election and is used in financial fraud detection as well. I have no idea if it applies here or not – there are smarter people (like maybe you 🙂 ) that can shed more light on its effectiveness or not.
