IFLA: The “A Royal Story!” Edition of the Horoscope for the Week of November 17

by | Nov 17, 2024 | IFLA | 81 comments

So this week the skies are dynamic, but in a coherent way. Remember all, this drama does NOT concern you (probably), so enjoy the show as some royal-type has a meltdown.

  • The cast of celestial characters:
  • The Moon- change, instability, water, women
  • Venus – women, sex, love
  • Mars – Men, violence, war
  • Mercury – change, news, instability, luck
  • Jupiter retrograde – misrule, sadness, oppression, revolution
  • Saturn – Endings, time, reaping

The reason I’m writing this up in that format is that all these planets move past each other in interesting ways over the course of this week, so you can see the actual narrative happening. It starts on Monday with Mercury-Venus, so a new woman, anew lover, or these facts being revealed. On Tuesday, we see the Moon and Jupiter retrograde coming into the mix, so this new woman is causing problems in an established relationship, and then by Saturday we have Mars and Saturn lining up which might mean an actual murder happening. Spicy! But probably happening at a safe distance. Although this week’s cards are packed with Majors, to wit:

Scorpio: The Hanged Man – Wisdom, circumspection, discernment, trials, sacrifice, intuition, divination, prophecy.

Sagittarius: Strength – Power, energy, action, courage, magnanimity, complete success and honors.

Capricorn: 6 of Swords – Journey by water, route, way, envoy, commissionary, expedient.

Aquarius: 8 of Cups – Joy, mildness, timidity, honor, modesty, the decline of a matter, or that a matter which has been thought to be important is really of slight consequence.

Pisces: The Tower reversed – Oppression, imprisonment, tyranny, plus other generally terrible shit.

Aries: 2 of Wands reversed – Surprise, wonder, enchantment, emotion, trouble, fear.

Taurus: The Devil – Ravage, violence, vehemence, extraordinary efforts, force, fatality

Gemini: 4 of Cups – Weariness, disgust, aversion, imaginary vexations, boredom.

Cancer: 9 of Coins – Prudence, safety, success, accomplishment, certitude, discernment.

Leo: The Lovers – Attraction, love, beauty, making whoopie, trials overcome.

Virgo: 4 of Wands reversed – Increase, felicity, beauty, embellishment.

Libra: Queen of Cups – Good, fair woman; honest, devoted woman, intelligence, vision; success, happiness, pleasure; also wisdom, virtue

    Great cover by Puddles

Someone pissed in Lily’s kibble that morning.

Sagittarius: Strength – Power, energy, action, courage, magnanimity, complete success and honors.

    Sounds like a trap.

a new woman….this new woman is causing problems in an established relationship….which might mean an actual murder happening

    It’s New NPR Lady, isn’t it?? 😳

      Have some pity on Tonio.

  5. DEG

    Nice dog video.

Attraction, love, beauty, making whoopie, trials overcome.

    Not sufficiently shitty.

The brunette with the sleeveless dress in the Puddles vid is a little distracting.

  6. Sean

“Cancer: 9 of Coins – Prudence, safety, success, accomplishment, certitude, discernment.”

    Sounds like I’m getting laid.

These things are like 100% accurate.

    • Tres Cool

60% of the time it works every time.

    • R C Dean

I dunno. Prudence, safety, and discernment don’t sound like “getting laid” to me.

      • Sean

I stand by my discernment of the reading.

  7. The Late P Brooks

The brunette with the sleeveless dress in the Puddles vid is a little distracting.

I found the one on the left to be rather… hypnotic.

    And she’s not even blonde.

Greetings from Vermont. Rifle season for deer started this weekend and I spent yesterday evening up at a neighbor’s Deer Camp. Dinner started with fried slices of fresh deer heart, from the seven pointer one man shot that morning, followed by some more mundane venison, followed by smoked bear meat from a bear another man shot the previous week. Yummy! This was accompanied by a big vat of chili made by the wife of the bear shooting man which I didn’t rate as 10/10 because she added some maple sugar and it was IMHO unnecessarily sweet. That didn’t stop me from having two big bowls.

All the meat was sliced to finger-food size and fried with copious butter, garlic, and onion. Vegetables, other than what was in the chili, were conspicuous by their absence. We did make a pretty good dent in a bottle of The Macallan 12.

    • SarumanTheGreat

Sounds delicious. Too bad I can no longer eat more than a couple of mouthfuls of any of that without risking yet another attack of pancreatitis. I miss all that greasy good food.

      • Richard

If one paid attention to just the MSM one would think that Vermont’s weather this year was all flooding all the time. Actually the state has been experiencing a pretty good drought. Today is no exception. It’s mid-November and I’m outside on my Adirondack chair waiting for my laundry, hung up outside, to dry. I will admit I wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t perfectly sunny. Yesterday my hunting friends made plans to go to the wilds around the mountain of Jay Peak where there might be, but probably isn’t, some snow for tracking. The NWS forecast doesn’t have the temperature dropping below freezing for the next week. I may be hanging up outside my next batch of laundry.

    • Ted S.

I had some reheated baked ziti and a Grüner Veltliner for lunch.

    • Tundra

Sounds perfect. The boy is up in Montana hunting with one of his best friends. Called me earlier to tell me about a clean miss he was embarrassed about. He has a couple tags so hopefully I’ll have some venison in my freezer soon.

      • R C Dean

A clean miss is better than a bad hit.

        Ask me how I know.

      • Fourscore

So I’m not the only one. Going back out in another few minutes, next time could be the charm.

    • DEG

      Sounds wonderful.

Election was a week and a half ago.

C’mon, my mother-in-law isn’t visiting until next week.

It’s the dark before the storm

    • slumbrew

It looks like a converted office from the outside.

    • Mojeaux

@R C Dean #1 is purty. #2 looks like a mild attempt at midmod. Joanna Gaines took a midmod house and tried to turn it into her signature shabby farmhouse chic, which did not work in the slightest and was fugly. #2 house reminds me of that.

@Slumbrew That looks late 70s, early 80s. Not a fan.

      • Ted S.

Yeah; Slumbrew’s looks like the sort of thing I’d see one of those “artsy” types up in Woodstock having commissioned.

      • Fourscore

I did a review of local houses on the market, I’ll be putting some property up in the spring. I was just trying to get some idea about prices, etc.

It really is a madhouse, I’m not sure if those prices are turning over. In my mind I was certainly low-balling my offerings. Things may be different in the Spring though.

      • rhywun

I like Slum’s. Particularly the color of the wood.

    • rhywun

this new piece of shit would have apparently had Rey rebuilding the Jedi Order, an order that almost certainly would have been made up of effeminate men, hairy guys in high heels, dumb dads, pronouns, land acknowledgments, and homely lesbians

      lol

      • juris imprudent

You know – the modern audience! [All 263 of them]

  11. Mojeaux

Fuck you people. I’m typing along, doodling scenes, and I typed “tow the lion” without a thought.

    • Ted S.

At least you didn’t do that in your medical transcription.

    • Suthenboy

Keep focused Mojeaux….keep your eye on the tiger.

      • Ted S.

Keep the thrill of the fight?

      • Suthenboy

Let’s not get into the malaprop and malaphors…that would be opening a Pandora’s box full of Trojan horses. Or something.

So RFK Jr isn’t the only one with brainworms?

  12. KK, Plump & Unfiltered

Surprise, wonder, enchantment, emotion, trouble, fear.

    Welcome to my life

  13. Gender Traitor

Just got done wrestling the giant marshmallow that identifies as a futon into a big plastic bag and a box and carting it from the back patio into the garage, thus closing up Tranquility Base for the winter. 😢❄⛄ It’s been too chilly on weekend mornings for the last few weeks, and we’re being threatened with snow showers later this week, so it was time. It always makes me sad to give up Tranq Base for the season, but at least today we had a nice day to do it.

    • R C Dean

Have you thought about one of those radiant patio heaters to extend your season?

It would make a very thoughtful Christmas gift for you, now that I think about it.

      • Gender Traitor

Thank you! How very kind of you to offer! 😁

Seriously, though, I just got a new toilet as a slightly early gift for another occasion, and I don’t want to press my luck.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Ah, what is appealing in age is different than in youth.

      • Aloysious

Why are you putting a toilet on the patio?

        Is this a new trend?

    • Ted S.

Someone needs to be more stoic about the weather.

    Is it time to panic?

Biden Allows Ukraine to Strike Russia With Long-Range U.S. Missiles
With two months left in office, the president for the first time authorized the Ukrainian military to use the system known as ATACMS to help defend its forces in the Kursk region of Russia.

    Putin, 12 Sept 2024 :

“It is not about allowing the Ukrainian regime to strike Russia with these weapons or not. It is about making a decision about whether NATO countries are directly involved in the military conflict or not. If this decision is made, it will mean nothing less than the direct participation of NATO countries, the United States, and European countries in the war in Ukraine. This is their direct participation, and this, of course, significantly changes the very essence, the very nature of the conflict. This will mean that NATO countries, the United States, and European countries are fighting Russia.”

    • Gender Traitor

“That’ll teach those bastards to boot me off the ticket.”/Biden

Since when is the U.S. president “authorizing” the Ukraine military to do anything??

      • rhywun

        Since $$$.

    • Sean

      My tits are calm.

      • UnCivilServant

        What about your other birds?

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Someone needs to check Kamala’s swallows.

    • The Other Kevin

      One more parting gift.

      Smooches,
      Biden

  15. The Late P Brooks

This will mean that NATO countries, the United States, and European countries are fighting Russia.

As if anybody didn’t already know.

    • rhywun

Can we officially call it WWIII now?

      • Suthenboy

In fairness they did warn me that if I voted for Trump we would get WWIII.

      • rhywun

        Joe’s final gift to America.

      • DrOtto

It was destroy it or let Trump take over, we made our choice!

  16. Muzzled Woodchipper

Reading liberals try and talk about economics makes me hope that whoever is SecOfEd burns that fucking institution to the ground.

    [Paraphrased]
Supply and demand is made up by capitalists! It isn’t real! Just wait until your system comes crashing down when the oceans choke and the earth dies! You’ll see your follies, if you aren’t dead by her hands.

I generally don’t engage with nuttery. It’s not worth the effort.

But I decided to chime in with the obvious.

Supply and demand will never be more evident to everyone than in the scenario you seem to gleefully desire as a reckoning.

Schools have taught these kids fucking nothing of value, and filled their heads with apocalyptic mush. I suppose it’s good this one won’t be procreating for fear of retribution from gaia.

Steve Kirsch on the NH Legislature’s special report on the Lil Rona Panic

The New Hampshire House of Representatives is about to publish a 38-page report created by a bipartisan committee of NH state legislators entitled, “Special Committee on Covid Response Efficacy: Report of Findings.”

I got an advance copy that I can share with you.

    It’s glorious.

In this article I summarize the highlights.

    In a nutshell:

    1. If you worked for the state or federal government, everything was done right.

    2. If you didn’t work for the government, everything was a disaster.

It was an interesting seeing how different people can view the same evidence in totally opposite ways.

Also, all the Republicans on the committee thought the response was a disaster.

All the Democrats saw nothing wrong. The Minority Report is the exact opposite of the Majority report.

You can’t make this stuff up. You really can’t.

    • Muzzled Woodchipper

And I bet that, had everything been Opposite Day, and republicans were the ones issuing edicts that killed tens of thousands of businesses and destroyed the strongest economy in the history of the world while violating everyone’s rights, then proclaiming democrats as murderers for not masking up in a park on a beautiful sunny day, and sending cops to church on Easter Sunday to “monitor” those who went, the shoes would be on the other foot.

Personally I couldn’t give a single fuck what any Democrat thinks about the Covid response. It was a fucking disaster from the moment “14 days to flatten the curve” was uttered.

      • DEG

In some states, Republican governors were the ones issuing those edicts.

      • Muzzled Woodchipper

Not in mine. My state was a democrat poster boy who is likely to be in the mix for the next presidential election.

      • DEG

Here in NH, we had a Republican governor issuing edicts and punishing businesses for not complying. I know of some bars in Manchester that lost their liquor licenses due to non-compliance with the governor’s edicts. I know of some non-booze related businesses that received fines for not complying. Some businesses that were harassed but not fined. And some businesses that went out of business.

Republicans and libertarians masquerading as Republicans in the legislature pushed back. One of the things they did was use the 2021-2023 budget as a weapon to strong-arm the governor into rolling back his enforcement actions. Local media lapped up the governor’s comments that those legislators are horrible people who don’t support law and order.

Sadly, the NH governor has been re-elected twice since the Rona Panic.

Sununu wasn’t the only Republican governor issuing edicts. In Texas, Shelley Luther went to jail for defying Gregg Abbot’s edicts. After she went to jail, Abbot reversed course. I think because he didn’t like the optics of putting a good-looking blonde woman in jail. I note he did nothing about Ana Isabel Castro-Garcia and Brenda Stephanie Mata (mentioned in the story) until he reversed course after Luther going to jail. You have the Meal Team Six incident in Ector County.

There’s probably more I could go find, but it’s dinner time here.

    • Muzzled Woodchipper

A mile away from home? I was doing that daily by 1st grade, riding my bike to school. By 2nd grade I was a few miles from home virtually everyday for hours on end with naught but other 2nd graders. By 10, I was routinely 5 or more miles from home.

      • Mojeaux

Yes. My school district doesn’t run buses within a mile of the school, so if you live in that mile radius, the kids have to walk or bike or be driven. First grade on, they can get to and from school under their own power.

And just think—this family lives in a town of 300 people. WTF.

      • DrOtto

As I told Pope Jimbo the other day, I never road a school bus other than for the occasional field trip. I either walked or road my bike beginning in Kindergarten (5 blocks) after my mom walked me the first couple days. I would meet up with other kids along the way. Since I went to Catholic school, I suppose the real danger was lurking in the halls at school.

      • rhywun

Yeah, in my school district it was a mile and a half. Walked it every day until 4th grade when I got bussed to a different school across town.

      • rhywun

I suppose the real danger was lurking in the halls at school.

        lol

I took Greyhound across the state by myself to visit big bro in college when I was 12. Somehow mom avoided jail time.

      • Gustave Lytton

I’d ride my bike to elementary school from time to time when the weather was nice, to middle school pretty much the entire time (2 miles) and half of high school (5 miles). The biggest factors were weather, getting to school on time, or catching a ride with my old man on his way to work. Being allowed or not by the school or cops was never on the radar.

    • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

What law is being violated? If there isn’t one, she needs to sue the shit out of the cops, DA, everyone on the city council, etc.

If there is a law, it needs to be challenged in court, HARD! And, no, Trump isn’t going to fix this, it is up to Americans to challenge this at every opportunity. Daddy ain’t gonna save shit, it is up to us.

  18. Ted S.

Mr. Mojeaux’s boyfriend throws an INT.

    • Mojeaux

We paid the refs for that penalty, tho. /lean in

“Sagittarius: Strength – Power, energy, action, courage, magnanimity, complete success and honors.”
    Fuck. Yeah.

“Leo: The Lovers – Attraction, love, beauty, making whoopie, trials overcome.”
Gonna be a great week leading up to my birthday Saturday.

    THANK YOU NA!
