Saturday Morning Birth of a Meme Links

by | Oct 25, 2025 | Daily Links | 124 comments

First one!

Back from the hellhole of Baltimore to find that there’s a new craze (this year’s Hawk Tuah). I know, it’s been beat to death, but I can’t stop laughing at this latest viral meme. All the drooling morons who haven’t gone in hiding in their fluffy-pillow-lined safe space at Blue Team Only Sky deserve a similar fate. If I were adept at Sora, I’d do a cartoon on Brooklyn Dad, complete with him stealing his kids’ Christmas presents to score some dope. So I shall leave that as an exercise to the reader. And maybe to SugarFree and CPRM…

Craze aside, we still celebrate birthdays, including a guy willing to die for the Republicans; RAHeinlein’s spirit animal; a one-hit wonder; someone who could get away with having three tits on a woman; the one and true Mr. Waverly; the pride of the Catholic church; an eternal symbol of the Deep State’s corruption and amorality; Spudalicious’s doppelganger; and a guy whose face is on every iodine bottle.

And my face is on Links. Or it should be.

Usually crossover episodes mean that the shark has been jumped.

Progs are like cats with a laser pointer.

So wait, if we make it shittier, people won’t buy it?

Have they considered diversifying to pizza?

South Park already did this, just with food.

The gerontocracy is funny, but perhaps a source of profit.

I gotta admit, their Homecoming is livelier than ours.

Cue obvious jokes.

The fact that the victim here is named Taki is… *chef’s kiss*

I hate Twitter links but this is hilarious.

Usually for live music clips, I skip past the patter, but the intro here is delightful. And beyond the usual Clarence White guitar genius, there’s some amazing fiddle, almost as if Adrian Belew were playing. This will make your day, the Old Guy promises.

Still no idea who he is.

    • rhywun

Me neither but he’s not alone.

Two days ago, Mr. Starbuck sued Google for defamation (with malice and negligence) when it’s Bard A-I output alleged that he was a “child rapist,” a “serial sexual abuser,” that he abused and stalked his ex-wife (Starbuck states in his lawsuit that he has no ex-wife). It accused him further of fraud etc. etc.

This guy thinks it’s a feedback loop that will just output more and more bullshit over time. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

      • Pat

This is on a level of stupidity like suing MadLibs.

It accused him further of fraud, embezzlement, drug charges, stalking business partners, and being a “shooter” or “person of interest” in a 1991 murder case (Starbuck was two years old at the time), of appearing in Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs (untrue), working as a porn actor, and voicing support for the Ku Klux Klan.”

Wow. Can that be entirely by accident?

You’d wonder why the two most dysfunctional industries in America are banking and healthcare. I mean, they have volumes of regulations, and they both employ a significant number of staff devoted solely to compliance due to how many regulations there are. The government even implements some price controls to make sure things are affordable for everyone. Many major players in those industries are outright government entities because the private sector can’t be relied on to do a good job.

I just can’t figure it out. It’s a mystery why American healthcare and banking aren’t running like a couple of Swiss watches.

  7. Ted S.

The $300 million project, originally announced in July and estimated at that time to cost $200 million, will create a 90,000-square-foot ballroom that Trump has said will be funded through private donations and serve as a “beautiful” space to host world leaders.

If anything, we should be removing the toilets and air conditioning to accommodate foreign leaders. And Trump can pay for this unnecessary shit himself, he’s got the dough.

The study tested whether a specialized liquid called perfluorodecalin could be safely stored in the rectum for an hour. No one was injured, and that alone is telling news. It is the first time that this “enteral ventilation” approach, based on a fish that breathes from its intestines, has been attempted on humans.

Will “ass breather” develop into an insult like mouth breather now?

  12. rhywun

Sanders’ tone marks a sharp shift from his 2020 campaign, when he dismissed talk of a “border crisis” and accused Trump of “demonizing immigrants.”

It’s almost like he has no principles.

This flip-flop is surprising, though. Maybe he’s reading the room unlike every other lefty right now. Getting ahead of the pack.

“A Texas doctor has surrendered her medical license after being sued by Attorney General Ken Paxton over her prescribing of so-called cross sex hormones to children in the state.

In October 2024, Paxton sued May Lau, a Dallas-based doctor, for providing “high-dose cross-sex hormones to twenty-one minor patients for the direct purpose of ‘transitioning’ the child’s biological sex,” using false diagnoses and billing codes. This went against a bill passed in Texas in 2023 that prohibits medicinal and surgical procedures for the purposes of changing a child’s gender.”

“Per The Post Millennial editor at large Andy Ngo, the woman seen on camera attacking Higby is Joy B. Wilson. She had been arrested on September 8, 2020, at an Antifa riot on four charges of interfering with a peace officer and was released on her own recognizance.

Wilson’s young son is transgender. A Facebook post from 2020 stated, “Joy Wilson is the proud mother of two daughters. Her youngest child transitioned to live as her authentic self at the age of 8. Joy is an active member of Basic Rights Oregon, and serves as a founding member and the Chair of Fierce Families, a network fighting for transgender youth in Oregon. Joy is also a member of HRC’s national Parents for Trans Equality Council. Joy has been an outspoken ally and advocate, whether in meetings with public school officials, speaking at press conferences, or doing interviews with news media.””

Basic Rights Oregon, Fierce Families, Parents for Trans Equality Council… Not to tell the Man how to do their fucking jobs, but if you’re investigating Antifa as a terror network, these are the kind of groups who need to start having their assets frozen and their communications examined. It’s like the right has completely forgotten about COINTELPRO.

  17. R C Dean

The entitlement and poor impulse control on display by the young women seems to be increasingly common. It’s almost like they somehow believe that the oppressive patriarchy with its boot on their necks won’t do a damn thing about their misbehavior.

They’re too young to be AWFLs. Seems like we need a similar label for them, though.

    • Common Tater

  21. The Late P Brooks

What’s unclear, however, is the regulations around such a donation.

“That’s crazy,” said Max Stier, president and CEO of the Partnership for Public Service, a nonpartisan organization focused on the federal government.

“It’s treating the payment of our uniformed services as if someone’s picking up your bar tab.”

He questioned the legality of the donation and called for more transparency around it.

    “Rescue”

Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and fiance of Taylor Swift, sparked jokes and hopes this week when he announced his investment in the embattled amusement park company Six Flags Entertainment.

The football star, alongside two corporate executives, teamed up with JANA Partners to purchase a combined stake of about 9% of Six Flags’ shares, making them one of its largest shareholders, according to Tuesday’s news release.

JANA Partners is an activist investment firm, meaning it buys a substantial stake in a company’s equity in order to push for changes — both operational and managerial — it believes will benefit that company.

“Couldn’t pass up the opportunity to continue the tradition and make Cedar Point and Six Flags even more special for the next generation of families!” Kelce wrote on Instagram. “So crazy to even imagine this is real, but you gotta love it when life comes full circle.”

They will turn the business around (and then bend it over and give it the old STEVE SMITH).

This law explicitly requires corrections officers to be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or DACA recipients, with no exceptions for illegal aliens.”

    Everything’s fine

“This year’s results reflect the impact of our strategic realignment. However, these measures are essential. We are consciously accepting temporarily weaker financial figures in order to strengthen Porsche’s resilience and profitability in the long term,” says Dr. Jochen Breckner, member of the executive board for finance and IT at Porsche AG. “We expect 2025 to be the trough that precedes a noticeable improvement for Porsche from 2026 onwards. Our goal is to sharpen our brand and make our products even more individual, exclusive, and desirable.”

That’s a hearty outlook aimed at easing the anxieties of Porsche’s web of investors, but there is some degree of truth to it as well. Electric vehicle sales are up nearly 35 percent since the same time last year, with 21.3 percent of these sales representing fully electric vehicles, while the other 12.1 percent accounts for plug-in hybrids. European sales figures show Porsche’s electric sales share rising to 56 percent, while U.S. market EV sales grew a meager five percent. Plus, these positive EV sales figures are likely calming Porsche’s own internal concerns, as the transition to EV production is a chief part of the reason the brand is losing so much profit.

Once we’re done turning our backs on what has made us successful the money will roll in.

“A fake baby scandal has rocked a Scots community after claims a young “mum” duped her friends and family into believing a doll was her newborn.

Kira Cousins, from Airdrie, is accused of wearing a prosthetic bump before pretending to give birth and parading a plastic Reborn dolly as a baby girl named Bonnie-Leigh Joyce, to deceive those closest to her.

The 22-year-old shared the announcement of her “daughter” on social media earlier this month, claiming she gave birth alone as Bonnie-Leigh arrived in the world on October 10, weighing 5lbs 4oz.

In the weeks leading up to the “birth”, Kira is shown sharing photos of baby scans and videos of her lavish gender reveal party, along with footage of the “baby” kicking in her tummy, as well as a series of pictures of newborn clothes and items loved ones bought for Bonnie-Leigh, including a £1,000 pram and a car seat.”
