Well, here it is. Time to start wrapping gifts, and making sure everyone is covered. With that, let’s get into the links.
This has no relation to the Browns stadium that the city was fighting to keep.
“It’s not a strategy, it’s a lifestyle.”
IT: Welcome to Derry went full retard.
Meh.
Fallout Season 2 started, and immediately shit upon New Vegas again.
Hated more than blockchain is an accomplishment.
Well, at least it’s only going back to the 90s, not the 70s.
To steal a line from Sugarfree, “Let people who like the material adapt it.”

Oh no… anyways…
I do not have high hopes.
I am old enough to have no real interactions with this.
If the RAM shortage leads to more optimization, I’ll call it a win.
If you thought you hated police departments enough, you were wrong.
As was predicted.
For the cocktail this week, I’ll go with something that I do not like, but I should probably make people aware of, coquito. The simplest explanation is to think of Puerto Rican egg nog (even though there’s no eggs in this recipe, there are recipes that call for eggs).
Coquito
- 56 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 48 ounces evaporated milk
- 24 ounces cream of coconut (and here’s where I tap out)
- 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon/cassia
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 750 ml rum
- Cinnamon sticks
In case you didn’t figure it out from the volumes, this is for a batch. Scale up or down as you see fit. To start with, add all the ingredients other than the rum to a saucepan. Bring it up to a simmer, stirring constantly. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes, and then remove from heat and let it cool down. After it’s cooled, add the rum, and stir to combine. After this, put it into bottles/mason jars (and add one cinnamon stick to each jar) and store it in the fridge. To serve it, pour into a glass over ice, and garnish with cinnamon sticks and a dusting of nutmeg if you are so inclined.
With that, get your shopping, wrapping, and last minute tasks done.

Now middle-aged, this generation is increasingly in charge of a country in which just 17 percent of Americans have faith in government.
Would that Gen X had any influence. We could get government to be that distracted parent, while we were left to our own devices and generally ignored.
The wife of one of the guys at work make everyone a small jar of Coquito and that stuff is amazing.
It rivals my aged eggnog.
For those who like coconut, I’m sure it’s delicious. Everything about it (outside of the coconut) sounds quite good.
I don’t really like coconut, but I don’t hate it.
In this is not that strong, so it works.
IT: Welcome to Derry went full retard.
fuck
I started watching it and found it interesting.
I have couple of weeks that I need to catch up on. Now, I have to question whether it is worth it.
Did you get to the military’s plan to create an IT bomb to drop on Russia?
yes. They entered the house looking for the tunnels to the McGuffin. That’s where I left off.
kinnath:
It gets dumber. So… much… dumber.
Queue the witcher video clip . . . . .
Fuck
So it’s like almost every show in the last few years?
If I remember, I’ll drop the big spoilery idiocy here after Mojeaux’s next chapter drops tonight.
—SPOILER—
IT exists out of time, so the whole reason for the prequel was that IT was trying to kill Richie’s mom in the past so that Richie couldn’t kill him in the movie. They then hint that IT will go back further in time to go after the other ancestors, and identify that it’s only Chapter 1.
HBO? I guess I can safely ignore it another show I had no interest in anyway.
The book, the miniseries, and the two-part remake were enough.
Brain cleanse show my wife and I are watching on Netflix.
Dark.
It’s bad ass. Lots of twists and turns, you have to keep track of the characters. We’re going to watch the last episode tonight.
I bought my gf F:NV for Christmas. I thought she’d enjoy it more now with season 2 to relate to.
Well, they destroy the NCR in season one, and Novac is run by the Khans in Season 2.
I can’t beat NV. Stuck in the last battle.
Mmmm, Punts
Doubt. No one (save arguably Russia) is launching any wars of expansion. Indeed, every empire that existed a century ago is either a relic of history or a shell of its former self.
Mind you, India and Africa were probably better off when administered by European colonialists, but that’s a different discussion.
China would love to get aggressive. They are waiting for us to self destruct a little more first.
Just wait for Xi to croak. The internal chaos will collapse all of the expansionism.
As I joke, India is a 5000 year old civilization and managed to keep every law and regulation made over that time on the books.
Roger that.
Years ago, I was going to purchase some hillside land in Assam (northeastern tip of India, in the foothills of the Himalayas) that got seasonal snow.
The plan was to groom some slopes, gin up interest in the 2+ billion people who live within a four-hour flight, and become the country’s first ski mogul.
But government put too many bumps in the road.
Look at Shpip, trying to create his own Mughal Empire.
It was his southern accent that the Hindus kept hearing as I-slahm when he meant I slalom.
The actor and filmmaker’s animated version of George Orwell’s classic dystopian tale swaps the critique of totalitarian Soviet Russia for a takedown of 21st-century capitalism – with twerking pigs and fart jokes.
Boffo!
If only we could hook a turbine to Orwell’s spinning corpse we’d be set.
The first batch of Epstein files dropped. I’ve got a pot of coffee brewing, I’ll check in here every few hours to give you all the scoop.
Just kidding.
You could sum it up easily by saying
“And nothing happened.”
From Racket News, Michael Tracey piece…
My personal conspiracy theory. Epstein, got a sweetheart deal the first time he was convicted and was working with the DOJ. They don’t want to release anything because this will prove the DOJ knew about the girls and let this happen in order to obtain intelligence about other clients.
Pretty sure that’s a fact not a theory.
They seem to have gathered a ton of information for someone who wasn’t involved in anything.
Mike Benz’s theory is that the girls were there to juice/help with deal making Epstein was doing on behalf of the intel agencies.
Which, really isn’t that far off from your theory.
Stoller’s screenplay is “funny and frighteningly perceptive”, said Pete Hammond on Deadline. It’s “wildly entertaining” and – “uncannily”, given the years it’s taken to get to the screen – may prove to “be a little too close for comfort to America’s drift toward authoritarianism” under the second Trump administration.
Somebody saw exactly what he was looking for.
Sounds like another one of those where critics rave and everyone else thinks it’s shit.
I can’t wait to see the delta between critics and audience on Rotten Tomatoes. Will it knock “Fauci” off the podium for greatest difference in opinion?
I forgot about that Fauci one. That was hilarious.
Critical drinker lambasted it.
I am not surprised. I’m not even going to watch his no doubt excellent lambast.
I won’t give that film, or any future film by the same writers and producers, a single dime.
Oh no… anyways…
I saw that this morning. The Greatest Generation’s greatest achievement.
Millions of war dead are going to rise from their graves and rip those two writers a new asshole.
NATO accomplished it’s mission – the Germans even unified are still down and the Soviets are out for good. That just leaves keeping us in.
I have a follow-up interview on Monday. Keep your fingers crossed. Meanwhile, a job I interviewed for back in early March and got rejected, has been re-posted, along with a couple other jobs in the same department. Sounds like they haz issues.
See you later tonight for after-dark fun (things have shifted to 10pm ET and later, so feel free to join after your normie social activities in the “real world”)

Oh man. I am wishing good thoughts for you. I will try to jump on. I always say that but I will make an extra effort. And I will drink some whiskey from your excellent glassware collection.

You’re the best!!
*fist bump* First ‘interview’ today went really well and it’s being moved along. The next would be the in-person one. It felt like it went really well, though I know many many many others got to this stage as well. I have hope, not expectation, but I certainly would like to get the follow-up.
I’m sure I could’ve sold myself more, but getting a non-boiler plate callback was an unexpected surprise, particularly this time of year.
Best of luck to you, sir. You’ll need it less than me.
Headline: DOJ won’t meet deadline for release of Epstein files.
It takes time to redact every face and name but Epstein Maxwell and trump.
I like the current Bears proposal.
We’ve been talking about that all week. That would be fantastic.
I have managed to find one fan who hated the idea of the Browns moving. Most of us don’t care, although there’s a split between those happy it will be a dome, and those of us who are right, and are irritated that it will be a dome. I’m trying to understand the thought process of the city that’s losing money on THREE different stadiums to fight to keep one of those stadiums in prime real estate.
That prime real estate could find much better uses. Stadiums on the waterfront are terrible. Dead space most days of the year.
rhywun:
There’s already plans. There’s also movement on closing Burke Lakefront Airport, even though there’s groups coming up saying how important the airport is.
So this guy, whoever he is, took Orwell’s story and rewrote it. He kept the title because nobody would watch it as his original work. That’s capitalism for you.
I noticed that. It could have just been its own thing. Hijacking the title shows they don’t have a lot of faith in it on its own.
Andy Serkis? Actor who is most well known for his motion capture work, primarily as Golum.
A guy named Nicholas Stoller wrote that train wreck. Andy Serkis (yes, motion capture guy) had the stones to put George Orwell down as a writer. Fuck you asshole!
Friday Funbags bringin da pain.

Sacrilege
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Friday said he will introduce a bill to ban sitting presidents from naming federal buildings after themselves, following the renaming of the Kennedy Center on Thursday.
“What arrogance,” Sanders wrote on the social platform X, referring to President Trump. “What narcissism. I will be introducing legislation prohibiting the naming of federal buildings after sitting presidents.”
——-
Members of the Kennedy family condemned the decision to rename the building. Kerry Kennedy, daughter of former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, said former President Kennedy “proudly stood for justice, peace, equality, dignity, diversity, and compassion for those who suffer.”
I have a better idea. Let’s not name anything after politicians, living or dead.
Let’s not go crazy here…
The man’s got his priorities I guess.
I’d personally be okay with the Bernie Sanders Municipal Waste Collection Center. Then at least something with that name would be useful.
JFC, Bernie.
Go back to Vermont and live in one of your 3 homes, drive one of your fancy cars between them, and leave the rest of us alone.
I ran out of propane mid-shower this afternoon, so I put on a bathrobe, ear flap hat, and shoes, and rushed outside to change the tank. I did the meme (I should have grabbed a beer on the way out).
As long as you had the flappy hat, you’re good.
And it’s shit like this we can thank for people like Nick Fuentes.
https://www.compactmag.com/article/the-lost-generation/
Pretty sure that’s been shared around here, otherwise, it would have likely been up top.
T’was.
One day at Band Camp…
School security AI flagged clarinet as a gun. Exec says it wasn’t an error.
Mistakes a clarinet for a rifle, then defends the cock-up.
Way to reed the room.
It wood wind up a mistake.
It is a slender reed upon which these puns depend.
“Exec says it wasnt an error”
Clearly he’s blowing his own horn.
I do not have high hopes.
But we can finally find out what gender Kermit identifies as!
That writer from the Atlantic needs some Depends for all the pissing himself he’s doing about rescheduling marijuana (which should never have been scheduled at all, much less in the same category at heroin.
Also notice the racist reference….
It’s the same as khat and mescaline!
The fuck outta here with your bullshit.
I am going to have to borrow Governor Abbott’s bus fleet to get all the losers to the woodchippers today. Seems like the shitty writers are back in force.
Heroin should be OTC.
Weed should be banned.
Trump risks undermining NATO?
Great Scott.
That Compact article is way too fucking long to read.
Nelson laugh!
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/dec/19/elon-musk-tesla-pay-package
Elon Musk’s controversial $56bn pay package from Tesla was reinstated by the Delaware supreme court on Friday, two years after a lower court struck down the vast compensation deal as “unfathomable”.
Not only did Musk relocate Tesla to Texas from Delaware, where it was incorporated at the time the suit began, he also publicly lashed out against the state and specifically its court of chancery and chief judge, Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick.
“She has done more to damage Delaware than any judge in modern history,” he wrote on X, his social media platform, in February 2024.
Someone should’ve told the lawyerette in a robe that she shouldn’t substitute her judgement for that of the shareholders and the Board. Alas, companies with a collective market cap in the trillions have abandoned Delaware since they replaced Rule of Law with Rule of Because I Said So.
DE quickly put out some new laws to try not to kill the golden goose.
But I haven’t noted if there are new listings there or they just stopped existing corporations from fleeing.
Genocide
Today, the American Civil Liberties Union condemned the Trump administration’s latest proposals to implement two nationwide rules that would significantly shut down access in hospitals to gender-affirming medical care for transgender youth. The proposed measures follow the recent House passage of legislation aimed at criminalizing such care and represent an unprecedented federal intrusion into the private medical decisions of families and their doctors.
The administration’s proposal seeks to block the provision of evidence-based, medically necessary care for transgender people under 18—care that is supported by every major medical association in the United States, including the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Anything short of unlimited free Paid for by the government) medical experimentation is just like drowning babies.
Gender-affirming medical is an oxymoron if I’ve ever seen one.
Someone should’ve told the lawyerette in a robe that she shouldn’t substitute her judgement for that of the shareholders and the Board.
In a suit brought by a stalking horse crank with a handfull of shares.
That’s usually the case on most shareholder actions.
Mistakes a clarinet for a rifle, then defends the cock-up.
A clarinet is as good as a blunderbuss to a blind pig.
I received my Kyrö today. It’s good.
LOL
I guess I’m old because I don’t give much of a shit.
I have a strong suspicion that the negativity is largely a result of everyone else saying “this is a bad thing” rather than out of any thought being put into it.
See Nickelback.
The 70s might as well be the Stone Age for most of the people writing online today.
I was referring more to the cocktail era, while everything else seems to be going back to the 70s, I do not want to see the disco cocktails come into vogue again.
Return of the Chevy Blazer with a solid axle and removable top?
Bring back the 70s!
Yay, Socialized Medicine!
