¡Martes por la tarde, enlaces mexicanos!

I have a 3 hour block of meetings this afternoon….you know the drill at this point..

¡enlaces!

The big news in Latin America today is the King of Spanish Bullfighting was gored in the ass. Severe damage to soft tissues and lower GI tract will leave him out of the ring for quite some time.

Bullfighting? Yeah I suppose there was an active shooter on a pyramid at a popular tourist location.

El Presidenté Mujer was otherwise occupied, with this oil/gas deal with Japon, as well as nagging US and officials in a Mexican state…you know within her own country’s borders.

I will hold out judgement until I find out if mass trials lead to mass executions. Even then, if they’re entertaining…

Here’s a tune relevant for reasons I will not disclose. Have a great Tuesday!

I wonder if there’s a direct cultural tradition from Roman Venator to modern Matador, or if bullfighting was invented separately later.

    • mexican sharpshooter

To my understanding Spain took it directly from the Romans.

    Ahhh! The GIF!

They may be a vanishingly small percentage of the population, but they are real.

That is what AI crap is stealing from us.

    • The Other Kevin

AI’s simulated physics will never match the real thing.

      • Ownbestenemy

Searches for *THAT* clip from Clue

      • slumbrew

I saw a pic the other day of Coleen Camp in Clue next to a current shot.

        Father Time is assho.

      • Evan from Evansville

        Searches I don’t do: ^Those.

      • slumbrew

I wasn’t explicitly searching for such a thing, just on her name.

      • Ownbestenemy

Slumbrew…don’t whisk away my childhood memories of bouncy mammaries that are strewn about in that film.

  3. R.J.

I am gonna stop complaining about work now, that bullfighter wins the bad day at work award.

    • The Other Kevin

And I thought my job was a pain in the ass.

Million to one shot, el doctor.

Bullfighting? Yeah I suppose there was an active shooter on a pyramid at a popular tourist location.

The gods’ thirst for blood has returned. Maybe they’re angered by all the stuff we’re launching into space.

I will hold out judgement until I find out if mass trials lead to mass executions.

Will Congress offer them asylum in the US? Stay tuned.

    • rhywun

Oh fuck me. Don’t even joke cuz you know every Democrat will want to.

  6. JaimeRoberto (carnitas/spicy salsa)

“Severe damage to soft tissues and lower GI tract will leave him out of the ring for quite some time.” With an injury like that he might be out a ring the rest of his life.

    • The Other Kevin

He’ll be lucky to not die from an infection.

      • R.J.

He looks like a paper kite flapping around on that horn, suspended by his anus. He will be on a colostomy bag the rest of his life for sure.

      • rhywun

        I think I won’t search for that video. 😨

      • Gdragon

We often hear gossip about someone being “torn a new one” but it is very rare to see it happen in the open.

      • Aloysious

“suspended by his anus” are not words I expected to read today.

I’m not sure I have the intestinal fortitude to carry on.

      “Once-in-a-lifetime shot, doc. No, really.”

    • EvilSheldon

Ehhhh. It won’t be a fun time, but a perforation of the posterior wall of the rectum (yes, I read the article, also, ouch!) isn’t going to kill you if you get to the hospital promptly.

      • Furthest Blue pistoffnick (370HSSV)

Spoken like someone who has experience…

“It was not an operation that the security cabinet was aware of,” Sheinbaum told journalists. “We were not informed; it was a decision by the Chihuahua government.”

“Of course they trust us. Why wouldn’t they?”

  8. R.J.

I can’t tell – Did that pyramid gunman have an Edgar haircut?

    • mexican sharpshooter

      Excellent question

  9. Muzzled Woodchipper

Yeah I suppose there was an active shooter on a pyramid at a popular tourist location.

That’ll teach the Canuckistanis to not boycott the US for travel.

It’s probably Indiana’s fault with their lax gun laws, like in Chicago.

  10. The Late P Brooks

    Coincidence

Starbucks said Tuesday it’s opening a corporate office in Nashville, Tennessee, to support its planned U.S. expansion.

Seattle, where Starbucks was founded in 1971, will remain the company’s global headquarters. But Starbucks said it expects to invest $100 million and employ up to 2,000 people in its Nashville office over the next five years.

In a memo to employees Tuesday, Starbucks’ Chief Partner Officer Sara Kelly said some employees will be new hires and others will be contract workers who will transition to full-time roles with Starbucks. Starbucks said it will also be moving some teams from Seattle to Nashville.

Completely unrelated to any current trends in Washington state politics or economic conditions.

    • R.J.

Yeah. Totally not going to close the Seattle office in 5 years.

      • Muzzled Woodchipper

        You’d think so.

Apple should be in the same boat. They’ve recently upgraded and expanded their Texas location. They’ve bought a lot more land to expand even more.

But they’ve also spent $600M on CA real estate in the same time period, and their new HQ was very expensive. I doubt they just want to walk away from several billion dollars less than a decade later.

But everyone except the latte sipping executives would benefit from such a move. Their stock would go up as their cost of operations would go down significantly with such a move. As a shareholder, I would live to see them ditch CA, but they just won’t.

Maybe Starbucks will have the temerity to do what’s necessary.

      • JaimeRoberto (carnitas/spicy salsa)

My company hasn’t relocated, but nearly all the new hiring is outside of California.

    • rhywun

Why can’t corporate America move to cities with better weather?

      • R.J.

        So it gets hot here.
All the places with good weather seem to be plagued with commies.

      • Bobarian LMD

Good weather seems to cause communism. Or at least the belief that “everyone should live like I do”.

That was my experience after two years in Monterey, when I decided I wanted nothing else to do with California.

      • rhywun

And in 20 years when Nashville turns into another NYC where does everyone move to next?

      • EvilSheldon

Back to NYC. Real estate should be real cheap by then, if you can deal with the hordes of zombies.

    • Pat

Boeing tried that and wasn’t allowed to relocate most operations due to union agreements. I guess Schultz is lucky he’s a union busting hypocrite and will therefore probably be able to avoid the consequences of the policies he’s supported for 30 years.

A bunch of guys who grew up in East Germany but are still Leftists. After stumbling through the lyrics and judging by their fat suits combined with the fancy cars, that they’re mocking Capitalism in some way.

At least make a burner account when making an X account when you claim you regret your vote.

I guess there could be a chance he is actually an American citizen…but im guessing he isnt given his website is based in Canada and doesnt show up on voter registration rolls.

    • Pat

Maybe he so deeply regretted his vote that he did what the Neiman Marxists never got around to doing and actually moved to Canada.

      • rhywun

LOL I was not aware of that anecdote.

TBH there are a number of cities up here that could fairly compete for that title.

      • Plinker762

        My senior year at RPI.

Troy definitely rates more lowly on the human anatomy than Albany.

    Rammstein. Fuck yeah.

    • Plinker762

I have been informed in the comments he is most assuredly alive.

    • The Other Kevin

I’m taking it as a good sign that their leadership is in shambles and nobody knows who’s in charge. That will shake out in time.

  17. R C Dean

I will hold out judgement until I find out if mass trials lead to mass executions.

Nothing beats a guillotine for mass executions.

Well, sure, I guess you could just machine gun them all, but then you still have to go through the bodies and finish off the wounded.

    • R.J.

I would prefer dropping a giant stone ZARDOZ head on them.

    • mexican sharpshooter

There are active volcanoes in El Salvador.

    • EvilSheldon

All the condemned prisoners get locked in a large darkened room with half a brick each. The last man standing gets his sentence commuted.

I think of it as outsourcing the execution method.

    • JaimeRoberto (carnitas/spicy salsa)

They have some pyramids in El Salvador. Maybe time to restart the ritual human sacrifice.

    • creech

      “machine gun them all,”
I don’t think Joachim Peiper is available, though there are probably ex-KGB who could be hired to do it.

Ten years after completely one of the most amazing turnarounds in football history, Leicester City have…completed one of the most amazing turnarounds in football history.

    • rhywun

Wow, that was 10 years ago??

Was just marveling at how awful Chelsea has become. I pay much less attention these days but I found a live match while surfing and watched it.

    Persecution of the righteous

“Although we don’t know all the details, the focus appears to be on the SPLC’s prior use of paid confidential informants to gather credible intelligence on extremely violent groups,” he said.

Fair added that the investigation may include possible charges against the SPLC or some employees, accusing the administration of “weaponizing” its power.

“Today, the federal government has been weaponized to dismantle the rights of our nation’s most vulnerable people, and any organization like ours that stands in the breach,” Fair said.

    ——-

The SPLC, founded in 1971 to fight white supremacist groups, has a wider mandate beyond its hate group tracking, including filing litigation on voting rights and prisoner rights.

The organization has previously criticized the Trump administration and has argued that Cabinet members have used their power to “roll back civil rights, deepen racial injustice, and rig the system against us.”

The boot is on the other neck.

Things were much more fun when Biden and Garland were weaponizing the DOJ.

    • Ownbestenemy

RICO would be the easiest of things the FBI can do on any number of groups, including Republican leaning ones. Get them all.

At this point I suspect Trump is leaning into the Taco Tuesday thing. Seems cease-fire was extended.
