Aaron Rai? Whoever he is, he’s now a major winner after putting on a hell of a show Sunday. Montreal and Buffalo will finish their schizophrenic series tonight. I just want Buffalo to win so all the Canadian teams are knocked out. And across the pond, Man City won the FA Cup and the Scottish league went to Celtic, who in all honestly had it handed to them by their last two match officials. And then their fans did what Celtic fans do: showed their ass. Anyway, I hope Hearts lodge a formal appeal and the match is (rightfully) considered abandoned after the field storming and abandonment. But the people who run that farmers league aren’t gonna do shit. And that’s it for sports.
Why are these “critics” upset again? I’d honestly be shocked if there weren’t at least a few million names that should be rightfully struck from the rolls. And I’d bet good money that the critics are not happy because those dead and nonexistent people have a sterling Team Blue voting record going back several years.
Why are they painting this as a bad thing? They’re offering a service. Nobody is compelled to go in their doors.
They’ll likely ride the lightning. Unless the Austin DA gets the case, and then they’ll probably get a $25k bond and sob stories about what good boys they are.
From your lips to God’s ears. Curious which states will fight this tooth and nail. But it needs to happen.
Fight! Fight! Fight! I’m just gonna say that I dislike everybody involved here.
What the hell were they doing there? And more importantly, how soon before the whole thing is blamed on Trump’s cuts to USAID?
Then I guess it’s a good thing none of your union people are working on it, isn’t it? I especially like the fact that none of the workers are talking to him and the reasons he is claiming for them not doing so.
Ahahahahahahahahahaha!!! What a bunch of stupid, petty fucks.
Damn climate change strikes again. Oh wait, it was an arsonist (like always).
So stunning and brave. I don’t care.
BONUS LINK!!! Tough shit, chief. Also, I don’t believe you.
This one always gets me fired up. What a great sound. Such a great band. Enjoy them both.
And enjoy this lovely Monday, dear friends

Troy, NY is not quaint.
Loath as I am to agree with Ted, but Troylet is not Quaint.
Thankfully, my office windows face west, so I don’t have to look in its direction.
Small world example:
My last and longest-lasting home in Austin was rented from a pair of staggeringly stereotypical lesbian social workers. They did not want to rent to a cismale, but I had enough good references from the lesbian community and would be the guy with a real job renting with a sex worker, so they relented.
They were renting it because they moved to Troy in order to do social work and be foster moms to underprivileged Children of Color. They absolutely refused to continue any correspondence with me once I moved up here and was no longer sending them checks.
They sound stable.
They definitely placed their political morality above all else, so at least they weren’t hypocrites.
Did they drive a Subaru?
I wonder how long that lasted.
…I honestly don’t remember. I want to say “yes,” but that could be my brain filling the gaps with details appropriate to the pattern. They wanted veto power over that we placed in the location formerly occupied with their Buddhist shrine. Rose’s piano was considered karmically acceptable.
They stopped responding in 2011, so no idea. But yes, they were deliberately trying for the most difficult children (preferably girls), I think they were Reform Jews before they became Buddhist.
I wonder if a stripper pole would have passed muster.
It would have been a struggle for them. They agonized over how to support the oppressed classes without also supporting the patriarchy. If they had found a suitably financially stable renter before they needed the income, I’d have been SOL.
On a practical level, you can’t really mount a stripper pole next to a wall, and I don’t know how much reinforcing to the ceiling and floor joists you’d need to do in a 1950’s ranch style to keep it sturdy enough for use.
NA:
First, apologies for dropping the ball on IFLA yesterday. Thanks to Spud for stepping in and scheduling it.
Second, the living with a sex worker story and renting from the lesbian couple sounds like a fantastic story if you ever feel like writing it.
Is it wrong that I want him to title the article “Town Talk with George”?
Lesbians Fostering “ the most difficult children (preferably girls)”
Shocked I say.
I wonder how many they converted.
Quaint, downright picturesque drive-bys! Just like Norman Rockwell used to paint.
I don’t like going east of the Hudson.
Isn’t east of the Hudson Vermont?
You can’t stop there, that’s Lovecraft Country.
They moved to Troy, TX, 75 miles north of Austin? Small town, I’d guess mostly commuters, white and Hispanic?
Not Adahn:
“A series of drive bys?”
Man, I thought New York had common sense gun control laws. Fuck, drive bys aren’t common even in our big cities here.
Isn’t east of the Hudson Vermont?
There is a little of NYS east of the Hudson before Vermont/Massachusetts/Connecticut.
You can’t stop there, that’s Lovecraft Country.
I think he had no stories in Connecticut. “Whisperer in the Dark” takes place in Vermont. Lovecraft Country is the North Short of Massachusetts with some “suburbs” in north central Massachusetts.
North Shore, not North Short.
Sorry DEG, but it’s not a matter of where the stories are set, but the environment from which that miasma springs. Everything east of the Hudson is just… off.
FWIW all territory on the eastern bank is part of NY.
Everything east of the Hudson is just… off.
It’s OK to be jealous of NH’s gun laws and low taxes.
You’re deflecting from the unnatural fabric of the region. It has nothing to do with the laws of man.
OMG those pictures! Is the DM claiming that the dude looking at his cell phone is the mayor? And anyone want to bet against me that the facemask and striped stockings protestor is a transwomyn?
What I don’t get is why they keep using the terms “Town” and “Quaint” to describe a run-down, crime-riddled City
It may have been a city once, but it’s just a suburb of Albany now.
Because they are pro-abortion, all the abortion services left Dodge because Trump, and these kooks moved in to warp female brains.
You can tell how much the OB-GYN cared by how quickly they left the state.
And if you wanted an abortion, Oregon is not far away from any part of ID.
If I remember correctly the abortionist in the area retired.
They are way off on the number of OBs that “left Idaho” too. Most retired. Some moved. Those that performed infanticide moved or quit.
There is a lot of jabber about Flock in my town too, second only to blaming data centers that don’t exist yet for rising electric bills.
I don’t know what all the brouhaha is about – how do these differ from license plate readers that have already been in existence for many years?
Flock’s security is trash and and are littered with shitty AI detection that can’t distinguish a 0 from an O
When I was little I was told license plates were not allowed to have certain letters because they could be mistaken for letters. Did this change, or was my parental figure mistaken?
License plate liberation came and freed them from this tyranny.
When I was little I was told license plates were not allowed to have certain letters because they could be mistaken for letters.
Apropos
I still remember my grandma’s license plate from when I was around 5 years old. “407-MUD”.
All of them should be banned, and anyone who had access to the data incarcerated in a dark pit with no internet access for the rest of their natural lives.
Meh. I get it. But it’s in public and visible to all. You cannot expect any level of privacy here.
That doesn’t mean they have any cause to look.
Not that I think it has a chance in hell of happening — but I think the ubiquity of data center storage and compute making real time tracking of everyone not just “persons of interest” by amassing all “in public” data merits a revisit of the whole “not expecting any level of privacy here” thing.
Certainly there’s logic in “you’re visible outside” and all… but no one thought that would equate to “and the 4000 cameras we’ve put around you and in the air above you can track everything you do, every moment in your car and we’ll at least buy the audio tracks from your phones / “assistants” etc…. and we’ll do this for everyone all the time”, so I think like IP laws — a little recalibration would be in order.
No, it does not. Least of all because the voters don’t give a shit.
SDF, that is something we should worry about. Imagine what would have happened during the COVID nonsense if they had data centers and AI, and companies more than willing to use that tech to help the Biden admin.
Serious answer: because now ICE is using the data to deport Undocumented-Americans. They have right!
Not the rights they seem to think they have.
Yep. ICE is the new bogey man on for the left.
NA is right. We’re also seeing backlash against police body cameras which they were all for because they were supposed to prove cops were racist and consistently violated suspects’ rights. When the footage started being inconvenient for BLM, Antifa, and anti-ice rioters, all of a sudden they were against it.
Where’s that “suicidal empathy” article when I need it.
Suicidal Empathy. This one?
“Where’s that “suicidal empathy” article when I need it.”
Gad Saad just wrote a whole book about it.
Rhywun/Beau Knott:
I’ve been thinking about the ‘suicidal empathy’ discussion, and while still thinking it over, may have an alternate theory. This was also the first generation that had the internet as a way to find others like them outside of the local community with ease. All of those who used to fall in with punks/freaks/lower social tier groups and learned their customs instead were able to find their subculture (no matter how niche) easily and quickly. This holds true with both more acceptable niches (needlepoint, LGB, horror movies) and with less acceptable niches (QUITA, pro-ana, Bronies).
If your main friend group is a widely dispersed online group, and the area you live in does nothing but make fun of you for your likes, why wouldn’t you start to default to having more empathy for those outside your local group? You don’t consider yourself a part of the local group any more.
If anything, the internet speeds up the feedback loop and leads to ever more radical forms of the phenomenon.
You don’t consider yourself a part of the local group any more.
Glances around this [virtual] room.
Nahhhhhhh.
I was radicalized online JI.
It was YOU people!
QUITA?

can new folks join Glibs these days?
annual testimony: I miss Gilmore
I haven’t seen anyone new in a very long time.
To be fair, discoverability of this site is fairly low. There isn’t any real effort to draw anyone here, so aside from converting lurkers, there’s a limited supply of potential new commenters.
can new folks join Glibs these days?
I know someone who tried to join; not sure how active she’d be and probably would just largely lurk as she does now.
Point being, she tried to join and was unsuccessful. Inquiries as to procedure to join were unsuccessful. So it appears that the answer is “no, new folks can’t join Glibs these days.”
Common Tater:
QUILTBAG – LBG = QUITA

Putrid, I seem to recall that it was a technical difficulty that prevented new users from joining. (I blame WordPress because why not?) That was a while back, so I don’t know what the current status is.
“Why are these “critics” upset again? I’d honestly be shocked if there weren’t at least a few million names that should be rightfully struck from the rolls. And I’d be good money that the critics are not happy because those dead and nonexistent people have a sterling Team Blue voting record going back several years.”
Why are these people upset that voter roles are cleaned up and people have to prove they have a right to vote? Because when you remove the margins they have been using for over 3 or more decades to rig elections for their preferred candidates, it becomes much harder to cheat. And without cheating, they risk the American people electing someone these crooks do not want. And that goes for BOTH sides of the isle, which is why it is so hard to get that cleanup.
Trump is an existential threat to the cabal. It’s the will of the people overriding the wants & needs of the unaccountable and unelected D.C. cabal, which practically never aligns with what Americans want.
Removing dead people from the rolls is vitalist, and a clear Republican attempt to steal elections by disenfranchising millions of Democrat voters!
The same reason they’re upset that Donald has begun to enforce immigration law. Power.
When you remove 50K dead people from a voter role, that is 50K less votes they can claim were found in some boxes somewhere at the last moment to reverse an election result they do not like. I think even the biggest idiot would hesitate to defend them finding 50k additional votes somewhere, and the total vote tally suddenly exceeding the eligible voter count. Cause that would make Ricky demand Lucy do some splaining…
The Dems get away with that and more at every election, and every one of their supporters defends it. They might all be idiots but they’re not stupid.
Such a threat that he went to war with Iran at the behest of the deep state, has done jack and squat to curb spending, and is throwing record amounts of money to unseat Massie for pointing it out.
spending
size of government continues as largest threat to liberty, but identity politics can gin up excuses faster than they can spend my money
I now withdraw to go find the new line on the ground so I can guess who my congresscritter might be
It’s a good thing you escaped Memphis before the wingnuts took away your Representation.
escaped
right!? funny thing is that the leftist urban thrust is that Callais is an attack on their racial representation, but TN09 has been represented for 20 years by an Ashkenazi, a neonewdealer thoroughly reliable to their cause, narrative, and agenda
I think Callais was correctly decided and believe, though most of the racists I’m related to vote Republican, that only the tiniest few Republicans are racist: they would be plenty happy if all nine TN critters were Republican and black
by an Ashkenazi, a neonewdealer
I’m not sure what a ewdealer is, but could I get one in a matte finish? I hate flashy neon hues.
Before I escaped Memphis, it was solidly controlled by the Ford family. Harold was the Congressman and his brother was a state senator or something. I can’t believe they lost their grip on the city.
neonewdealer
I was trying to say that Cohen is your basic tax-and-spend Dem and perfectly acceptable to most black voters in the city: neo NewDeal-er; I’ve talked to him and wouldn’t mind having a beer with him as long as economics and government didn’t come up
Fords are still around at the local level but in decline
Joe Biden got more votes than Obama.
You election denier.
Almost 25% more you dog-faced pony soldier.
Government by spite.
Same as it ever was.
Unelected and unaccountable bureaucrat cabals taking their anger out on the unwashed rubes that dared vote for their own interests and against those of the cabal? Say it isn’t so!
“Unelected and unaccountable ”
The second adjective fits perfectly. But in this case Doug Ford is an elected official.
I liked his cokehead brother better.
Doug is “the dumb one” but they aren’t Michael and Fredo, more like Fredo and Signora Colombo’s dog.
I have to reluctantly admit that if I ever came to power, spite and revenge would be two of my primary policy drivers.
Probably a good reason that I shouldn’t have any power over anyone other than myself…
That’s why you’re Evil Sheldon.
That’s why I would vote for you.
“We’re willing to spend $20 million a year to not sell your booze,” he said. “Is that worthwhile? I have no way to judge that.”
Are the right people getting paid? Then it is worthwhile.
You know the workers are stealing a case at a time. It is slowly all being funneled out the back door.
I wonder how long it will be before the Canuck govt is paying $20M for an empty warehouse?
I am sure, though, that when it is discovered that they are paying all that money for nothing that no one will be punished.
Good morning everyone!
I am in a fantastic mood today. The weekend was two excellent diner breakfasts (different diners!), two exhausting days at the range (with amazing finishes!) and two resultingly excellent nights’ sleeps.
Now let’s see what my coworkers have planned to turn me into a quivering ball of hate and rage.
“Orange juice is a suitable coolant, right?”
We have found Tropicana bottles in the chase where the chillers are installed…
Sounds like fun!
I am disappointed that it looks like it will rain all through Memorial Day weekend – that’s usually a big training weekend for me. Maybe I’ll sign up at an indoor range and blow a case of ammo on Doubles and Practical Accuracy drills…
Training, you say?
Classically, I feel really good about my shooting heading into a major then get my ego pounded flat. MidAtlantic is on Friday.
HOWEVER
This season feels different. I had an 11th of 60 stage in the “actual competitive shooters” USPSA match and even if the placement hadn’t been that high, the experience of shooting that stage was why I play this game in the first place. Completely locked in, everything under control and according to plan. Flow state and euphoria cranked up to max. My shooting this season is much cleaner than the last two years and instead of getting high hit factors at Watervilet’s simple close stages to give me a false sense of competence, SaraSpa’s new MD is putting out for-reals-major-level-stages. I had one brown-on-brown overlapping mike and one delta in the last month.
However however,
The weather has been delightfully cool and the brain stops working in the heat. We shall see how the summer progresses. The weight loss is not progressing as I’d like
Shpip – The number of times I’ve fired a gun from a moving golf cart is small, but not zero.
NA – That’s terrific to hear. Hopefully we can get together at a match sometime this season.
Shpip, FarCry training.
That Bulgarian Eurovision thingy was the least faithful cover I’ve ever heard.
Should probably link the original
They are equally heinous FWIW.
Romania’s was much better, my personal favorite moment was the 5th Element opera bit.
Why are we covering tits?
I agree.
Eh. I am suspicious that once they’re unsupported, the nipples will be in line with her navel.
That would be an interesting piece of research, and it shouldn’t be hard to do at all. Not “who did they vote for”, which you probably can’t find out, but “did these dead and nonexistent people ‘vote’ at all”. I’ll be the answer is not “Nope, not a single one did.”
Given it took LA County nearly 20 years to remove me from their voter rolls after twi different states and two separate voter registration completions…we all know the answer is “the dead are voting”
When Rossi got shafted, a couple of interns compared voting records with people that died months before the election and found a huge number of deceased voters. Just applying some basic percentages such as the voting habits of the precinct where they were registered proved fraud that skewed the election in my view. The electorate yawned.
The electorate yawned.
Only because the correct result had been tabulated.
Why the hate for the anti-Flockists?
Because they’re opposing Flock for racist reasons.
Sloopy just has hate to spare.
That’s because the LCBO, as a government agency, doesn’t know and doesn’t care.
While it may be unsold it may not be unopened and consumed. Have to allow for a certain amount of breakage when handling glass products.
I’m a little suspicious when it comes to government accounting and record keeping.
Au contraire… I suspect someone in government behind this idiocy will make bank from this at some point, Stop paying attention to what they say, and look at what they do if you want to know what the dealio is. and it is ALWAYS about some sort of corruption and graft.
“Hmmmm, seems to a be a little shortage here. According to our records….”
It starts as a little, then adds up to billions… Each year… I am going to lay odds we will eventually find out more than 80% of our national debt (all of it after the 2005) is from fraud, and was plundered by inept people and their buddies. Perfect mechanism for useless people to get paid a lot and for pols to collect big campaign financing contribs.
Never mind that she is grotesquely overpaid.
I wonder what the court of public opinion feels about these scum. Not that it matters because a majority of the public will continue to vote for the party that is beholden to them but still.
And when they retire, that OT will become a lifetime annuity.
A liability that will be transferred to the federal government when it bails out NY, I might add.
What the hell were they doing there?
Carrying the white man’s burden?
“Exposed” to Ebola is carrying all the weight in that article.
You’re not going to get another pandemic shutdown, healthtards. Just give it up already.
I dunno…I’d say half of the world population would be willing to take that ride again
I think you’d find a big divide between ruling elites willing to fire up the shutdown machine again, and real people willing to do so. AWFLs make up a lot less than half the global population.
I was around in 2020. The Blue states would lock down quicker than you can blink if they thought it would help them politically, and the blue sheep that vote for them would cheer it on.

Swamp puppy!!!
Is she in fact glamorous?
Looks it to me.
Indeed so.
Eh… she’s no Lobster Girl.
He grins like a baby but he bites like a gator.
She’s a McNeese 10. Maybe even eleven.
If you’re a coonass girl whose daddy insisted that you be the first in your family to attend college, but lack the intellectual chops for Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State is the school for you.
Ballsy of her to handle a timber rattler though. Those things are too damned twitchy for me.
She got herself a full set o teeth.
Food playing with the predator?
The good news: teens are drinking a lot less than they used to.
Are we sure that’s good news?
They are all doing antidepressants now and slowly losing their minds.
The cynical part of my brain responded with “Maybe that’s also why the birth rates are down…”
SDF, throw in death by a thousand cuts of the crap food we’ve been eating for the last fifty years and I think you’re on target.
Risk reward, pain achievement is a huge part of human growth.
I’ve long thought that one of the best things that you can do for your children is get them interested in something difficult and potentially dangerous as a hobby. Nothing builds character and responsibility like being directly responsible for your own safety under pressure.
The safety fetishists who object to this should be rounded up and sent to a remote island with unlimited highly processed food, internet access, and anti-anxiety drugs, just as an object lesson for everyone else.
At Eleven, I had a pocket knife, a hatchet, and a box of matches. We made fires when camping as Boy Scouts and were essentially unsupervised most of the time.
I agree with ES. Learning how to rock climb at 16 really brought home response under pressure and taking responsibility over life and death does seem to focus the mind.
It was already a disaster when they raised the drinking age to 21. Teens need to learn how to handle alcohol responsibly before adulthood.
It should be no more than 15 (realistic possibility) or just let the parents decide (fantasy world).
What, you want to be more like Germany?
In this matter, yes.
Stupid MADD raised both the drinking age and lowered the driving limit to something ridiculous.
rhywun:
The yutes today are different. I would believe that neither of my nephews have filched a drink yet, and I am disappointed in them if this is true.
Never mind filching drinks, their parents should be introducing them to beer at the dinner table. All wishful thinking, though. Our culture is much too puritanical to even consider it.
rhywun:
My niece hasn’t even taken them to see Rocky Horror yet. Fucking kids today.
The eldest nephew is going off to college next year, it’s a local place, so I know the area. I’ve been telling him the good breweries and bars to go to, while my sister and brother-in-law keep going, “You know he’s only 18, right?”
Have you informed them that that attitude is what leads to kids choking on their own vomit at keggers?
rhywun:
Nah. They’re aware of that already.
I pointed out that as an uncle, part of my job is to introduce them to the stuff they won’t.
My nephews are doing their part.
The eldest was pissed when he thought his father and I were drinking from his Blackout Rage Gallon.
I regularly offer the boy my beer but he’s more safety conscious than I was at his age and I was terrible.
I think most age cutoffs should be around 16.
Including school. End that shit at the 9th grade and go get a job.
Somebody add that Eddie Furlong Terminator 2 meme when he tells Ahnold “We are not gonna make it”…

The keffiyeh is a nice touch. It’s so on point that I suspect parody, but who knows anymore.
Parody or engagement farming
would I ever post something that is engagement farming?
Yes, Pie, you would.
Farmer wants a wife?
To these commies fascists are anyone to the right of Mao, and thus, enemies of communism, communists, and the communist agenda to globalize government, after they disarm those of us so we can’t fight back, murder 3/4 of humanity so they can better control the rest of us serfs, and usher in the new feudal age where we will not own anything but be happy or end up killed for our low social score..
I put a prompt injection into my LinkedIn bio and recruiters are messaging me in Old English and calling me Lord.

I had that before AI…
Speaking of poles, Alex Palou was fast qualifier, surprising somebody somewhere.
12yo nephew’s got a city track meet today. He qualified 3rd in the mile with a 5:52:44, behind #2 by ten seconds, and his classmate leads the pack with a 5:23:24. (At least one, maybe both leaders are a year older than my nephew.) That’ll be exciting after work. That kid is the definition of ‘his father’s son,’ much like I am with Dad. Bro decided to name that one after himself, but goodness not by his first name. So he named his first-born after his own middle name, acting like the rest of us don’t know why he did what he did and why. (Uh huh. And his wife is the sign-carrying anti-PATRIARCHY(!) gal she is. (She loves being told ’round by him. He’s kinda correct for doing so.)
Should be working all this week, then Monday off, and perhaps our last day for the contract is next Tuesday, outside chance of Wed so we finish all 38000 papers by May 27.
==========
I’ll encourage you all with our 8th grade spirit student in Missouri closing out his essay: “I interviewed 10 people. 4/10 said that they enjoy supporting the school. The rest just seem to find it lame. Now, I know this is harsh saying this. But, That’s just how it works in my head. So, I believe that supporting your school is stupid. So please. Stop trying to make me support something or some team of some sort that I DO NOT WANT TO SUPPORT. SO PLEASE. WOULD YOU LEAVE ME ALONE?!”
I gave the kid as much as I could, sadly a 2/4, all scoring considered.
It takes Fatima Bio only a moment to respond when we ask what it was like to be an asylum seeker in London.
“Better than being married to an old pervert,” she says deadpan, before laughing – a reference to her father’s plans to marry her off as a teenager.
A lot has changed since then. In the years that followed, she became an actress, then met a man in London when she was interviewing him about influential Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora and married him. He was Julius Bio – and he is now Sierra Leone’s president.
As the country’s first lady, Fatima Bio is seen as a compelling yet divisive figure – some young people see her as a refreshing voice in politics, who speaks up for women and girls, while others say she has overstepped her remit and that she is too vocal and too involved in the running of her husband’s party.
She has been booed and jeered at by MPs and criticised over a video that she shared on her social media channels featuring a notorious drugs dealer, whom she denies knowing.
She quickly stops laughing and composes herself to tell us the story that inspired her to champion a law banning child marriage in Sierra Leone, which came into effect in 2024.
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvgzpz7zyd4o
“England was my amazing grace. I went to England, I got my voice,” the first lady adds. “I got my independence, and then I was able to fight for myself. And now I can fight for as many young people as possible.”
Something else she gained in the UK was a council flat in Southwark in central London, a home she still keeps today where her children live.
The fact that a sitting first lady, who lives in a presidential mansion in the capital, Freetown, retains a tenancy has drawn criticism in both the British and Sierra Leonean press.
With more than 18,000 people on the borough’s waiting list for housing, the council’s website says that “even people in the greatest need can face several years’ wait”.
But it is a situation she defends. “My children are all British citizens,” she says. “I’m paying for my council house myself. I have not committed any crime.”
Sure you are.
Good luck getting that grifter off the dole – she checks too many boxes.
borough’s waiting list for housing
Well, that is some stolen base – or whatever the bastard Brit equivalent would be.
Dropped
President Donald Trump, his two eldest sons, and the Trump Organization dropped their $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service on Monday, according to a Miami federal court filing.
The filing by Trump’s lawyers did not say what led to the surprising move, but it suggested it effectively barred a judge from analyzing whether the president’s civil suit was legally valid, and from dismissing it if she finds it is invalid.
The dismissal came on the heels of controversy over reports that the Department of Justice was negotiating a settlement with the president that could see the federal government pay $1.7 billion toward a fund to compensate allies of Trump who allege wrongful treatment by the Biden administration.
Democratic members of Congress said that would be a “slush fund.”
A slush fund for political causes? That’s unheard of.
I thought the money was going straight into Mad King Donald’s pool of gold doubloons.
People that have a slush fund financed with tax payer lucre, to pay off victims of their sexual abuses, pissed someone else gets a slush fund? No way!
Unheard of.
Numerous examples, including the Dems targeting banks and creating gigantic slush funds for many of their pet grafts.

What they do not tell you in this article is that these Euro countries that abandoned the wealth taxes did so because they saw massive migration away from the countries that implemented the taxes to those without by the rich. We are already seeing that here in the US as well, but the team blue marxists do not want this for any economic reason. they want it because they HATE those wealthier than themselves.
Envy/jealousy and their own misplaced pride, drives these marxists. Isn’t it funny that lines up with the very sins of that one that got thrown out of heaven and chose to rule over ashes in hell?
They do it because they want to destroy the economy and rule over the ruins.

“High school surf star allegedly beaten, branded ‘pedophile’ and terrorized by teammates sues school….
Frey, 17, was at his family home with Keller’s 15-year-old sister, Ainsley, on April 17, 2025, when she received a call from her brother Owen. With the phone on speaker, Owen demanded to know where Ainsley was before allegedly threatening Frey, according to court papers.”

Everyone is a “pedophile” now.
17 and 15 seems rather normal for highschool
The pic of them together makes them look age-appropriate.
Also looks like she has boobs.
Athletic hormonal teens banging? Why, I never!
Something else is going on. I’m not even vaguely believing the high schoolers anti-pedo justification.
Long before the “blue haired feminist” there was the blue haired Brits.
Sextus Propertius (50-15 BCE) was not a fan of this newly imported Roman trend from the north.

Is that the second cousin of Sextus Dwarfus?
Disappointed nobody mentioned Biggus Dickus.

“Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for Navy Yard Nic Wilson said that going after parents and using police won’t help reduce the teens’ criminal activity. “Policing and putting people in jail is actually kind of how we got to where we’re at now,” Wilson said, per WJLA.
“There’s no one at home because they got locked up and thrown in jail. We’re not going to police our way out of this situation.” He claimed that Pirro’s actions to prosecute parents would constitute “federal overreach.””

Oh jeez.
Lock up all the kids. Yes it will solve the problem. For us, the people who don’t have brawls in public.
Let me guess, this is just a part of their authentic childhood, a rite of passage as it were?
If it was less vibrant children doing this, they’d be all for it.
Yup – planned gang shit, probably.
Exactly, on both counts.
One can absolutely guarantee that Ser ‘Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner’ is opposed to ‘policing our way out’ of the problem because he himself considers violent public disorder ‘authentic expression’ or some similar nonsense.
‘Policing our way our of the problem’ would, at best, start with firing his ass, and ideally sticking him in jail for something.
I don’t agree with jailing the actual rioters, though. It would be expensive, and they’re probably too stupid to learn from the experience. I would suggest public flogging as an effective, penny-saving alternative.
Sheldon, the opics of whipping “misbehaving” black youths in public would give a PR win to the enemies of law and order. Perhaps not flogging, some other punishment.
Before I clicked, I said “I bet I know what, err, ‘community’ engaged in the brawl.”
I fucking hate it when I’m right about that one.
That’s… interesting.
They need to be punished like anyone else committing obvious acts of assault. Punishing the parents is stupid.
You’re right, of course.
Hmmm. Perhaps some kind of forced labor? Maybe in the agricultural field?
I’m reminded of the Mamie Ban Doren movie Untamed Youth, but unfortunately Tubi only has a bastardized MST3K version.
And I’m sure Sydney is grief-stricken at all the negative attention.

Yep. This bizarre attempt to shame her is failing.
Its probably bots.
For all we know, she might have a humiliation kink.
I think you meant “racked”.
“NPR podcast host Ramtin Arablouei has left the company following an internal investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct.
Arablouei, co-host of NPR’s podcast “Throughline,” has been absent from the show for several weeks prior to his departure, which came after a formal complaint and internal review. The New York Times reported that Arablouei was accused of making an “untoward” compliment toward a female producer, telling her she was “a case for race mixing.”

At least she didn’t smear poop on the walls.
So was it the racism or sexism that done him in?
I will never understand the poop smearing on the walls thing.
Feminist indoctrination, groupthink, and lots of prescription drugs?
You’d think a guy who worked at NPR would know that was a dumb thing to say in his circumstances.
They are so obsessed with race sometimes they can’t help themselves.
People just need to lighten up though.
Politico, you’re not supposed to write this stuff
The pro-Israel lobby that’s pumped millions into Democratic primaries this year is facing the next test of its political power on the right in ruby-red Kentucky.
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee and other pro-Israel interest groups have uncorked over $9 million in a bid to unseat Republican Rep. Thomas Massie on Tuesday in a competitive primary that has shattered spending records. Prominent pro-Israel GOP donors have funneled millions more into a super PAC stood up by President Donald Trump’s political operation that has spent nearly $7 million on the race. Overall ad spending has topped $32 million, making it the most expensive House primary on record, per tracking firm AdImpact.
Pro-Israel groups got the opening they needed to spend big against the isolationist lawmaker whenTrump decided to front a primary challenger to Massie, presenting the first serious threat to his reelection in over a decade. The Republican Jewish Coalition Victory Fund and United Democracy Project, AIPAC’s super PAC, have attacked the incumbent for his votes against symbolic measures supporting Israel.
Does anyone really think that Massie is a true anti-Semite? That he wants to destroy Israel?
You’d think that a bunch of (((PACS))) coming in to defeat someone who isn’t a real enemy would be a bad look for (((people))) trying to live down the trope that they dump money into US politics to control the system.

Keep your day job.
In Texas, word on the street is that the World Cup stadium around the corner from me won’t have functioning toilets by the time the stadium has to be used. So there’s gonna be Porta pottys all over the place.
It doesn’t have functioning toilets already? wtf
They’re not using the Cowboys’ or Texans’ NFL stadia?
Think of all the fun that can be had tipping these or setting them on fire!
No, building a brand new stadium South of Arlington. Don’t know if it is practice or actual game stadium. But it os barely together and word is the plumbing won’t be done in time.
Impeaching the communist and electing a non-communist?
The homeless will probably destroy them before the World Cup even starts.
Decline is a choice. This homelessness problem has a solution. Gavin Newsome showed it to us when he cleaned up the streets of San Fran when the left’s hero, that commie evil asshat Xi, came to visit. However they have zero interest in solving homelessness, and like anything they take over – like education or that CA high speed rail – they always want MOAR money while the quality of product declines. That is cause these rackets are about extracting wealth from the productive. Never about solving shit.

We can’t get college loans paid, let’s start giving more cash away. I heard a couple years ago the the Education Dept was on it’s last legs but apparently has found some new ways to sustain itself.
After decades of pushing kids strictly into college someone whispered into his ear, “why should they have all the fun”.
I bet you the kids going into the trades, unlike the fucking retards that go to college and pay $60-90K a year for worthless studies degrees, will come out with skills that will allow them to quickly earn YUGE money which will let them pay the loans off. Not to mention that most trade programs are between 18 and 24 months and seem to not go over $60k for the entire education. Granted more money will change that model for sure, and we should prefer that college be defunded, but one can see how we will get a better return on our money than college.
Occupational hazards
Wade Hanicker lives near Tampa, Fla., and he started making countertops about 15 years ago. He used saws and other power tools to cut and polish big, heavy slabs of raw stone so that they’d fit perfectly into customers’ kitchens and bathrooms, and wore simple face masks to help protect himself from any dust.
“We were more worried about getting crushed by slabs or getting cut with blades and stuff like that,” he says, “not getting a lung disease.”
——-
That danger has become dramatically clear in California, where officials have been grappling with an epidemic of silicosis, an irreversible lung disease. They’ve tracked over 550 sickened countertop workers, almost all Hispanic men, with most of the cases emerging over the last few years. Over 30 workers have died, and more than 50 have had lung transplants, according to a public dashboard where the numbers keep going up.
On May 21, a workplace safety board in California will vote on whether the state should ban the cutting of high-silica quartz countertop material, as a group of doctors has petitioned the state to do. Those doctors say the severity of workers’ disease suggests that it’s caused by exposure to toxic ingredients in addition to silica, like pigments or resins.
But those masks would have stopped the deadliest plague virus in history.
It’s 550 people. Not an epidemic.
Cutting quartz has always entailed health hazards that were mitigated by PPE.
Apparently, some people took that for granite.
No idea what a Full Stack Engineer Laraval is, but the job is fully remote:
https://apply.workable.com/uspsa/j/30B78132BA/
IIRC, some people are able to work multiple supposedly full time jobs simultaneously when they’re remote.
I’m guessing a LAMP developer who specialises in a specific subset of PHP instead of learning the language itself.
A Laravel engineer can do both front and back end development. A senior engineer would have enough expertise to lead a dev team in both spaces.
Using the using the PHP-based Laravel framework..

ugh: meant for Brooksie below
Occupational health experts who have petitioned California to ban quartz, however, say this material “is too toxic to fabricate and install safely, and education and enforcement alone will not be sufficient to curtail the escalating occupational health emergency caused by this product.”
A few weeks ago, in the first quartz and silicosis lawsuit to come to trial outside of California, a jury in Colorado awarded damages to an injured worker named Tyler Jordan, finding that actions by several companies led to his illnesses.
The next asbestos gold mine?
How long ’til some plaintiffs’ lawyer fils a case for a homeowner “injured” by living in the presence of this stuff?
Emergency! Epidemic! Too toxic! Impossible to install safely!
Safety fetishists should all fuck off and die.
I would bet a minor amount of money that beaches have elevated levels of airborne silica.
California needs to ban beaches!
Good. It’s a shitty movie.
my quiet, undocumented advice to him was to cut everything under water
Have it done in China.

Good luck with that.
Using water jet cutters for those quartz counter tops would be a good idea.

Rhywun: I watched every LIV match this year; seems like they underperformed for such a great stable

Hardly watched any at all this year.
I’m reviewing inventions from a bunch of kids across the country. 90% of it is medical devices and safety tools.
Whatever happened to middle schoolers coming up with wacky fun inventions? It’s all arthritis exercisers and chemically impregnated bandaids and putting arduinos on helmets and seatbelts and strapping Kevlar to everything at school.
The kids aren’t alright.
I wasted the seventies tuning carburetors, but I never got a bandaid pregnant
