I have a new employee to break in today. So I am just going to phone in the intro as always…

¡enlaces!

In case you needed proof it was all one big club.

Given my distaste for most influencers, I imagine the cartel is doing us all a favor.

The avocado wars will end for now.

You can’t just create a work around to the Panama Canal, that’s not how the empire works, muchachos.

Suspend tariffs? Thats not how the empire works, muchacho.

This is how the empire works.

I’m old enough to remember when farmers burning trees in the Amazon was an existential threat to the planet’s oxygen supply but Lula becoming a goddamn state approved OIL BARRON is somehow the future?

Screw it you get Mudvayne today.

The avocado wars will end for now.

Dammit. They’re letting them into the country again?

    • The Other Kevin

I can’t keep up, is that an ethnic slur for someone?

      • Not Adahn

An Islamist who sneaks across the border pretending to be Mexican?

      • UnCivilServant

A green blob of mostly fat that is duplicated through grafting to other trees’ children?

      • Nephilium

Lizard people. Leathery skin on the outside, soft green flesh…

    • Sensei

Until more fecal contamination is found.

    • EvilSheldon

Don’t even think about getting between me and my guacamole.

      • Not Adahn

Stage 15: targets are readily engaged from multiple locations. One shot each. Virginia count.

        Oh, the lamentations!

      • Not Adahn

Also, they re-gravelled the pits. Including one with a low point. I stopped at Harbor freight and bought the hard shell kneepads.

      • Sensei

I stopped at Harbor freight and bought the hard shell kneepads.

        Sure, that’s the reason…

      • EvilSheldon

Stage 15: targets are readily engaged from multiple locations. One shot each. Virginia count.

That’s a “How good are you at visualizing your stage plan?” stage. NGL, I don’t love those.

      • Not Adahn

Last club match we had a “best one” stage. On the buzzer I drew to a close target and murdered it with a really fast double. Fortunately it was Comstock.

      • EvilSheldon

Oh man, I hate that. At the local classifier match this past Sunday, I instinctively made up a bad shot on a classifier that I thought was Virginia count. I was mentally cursing myself for the rest of the stage, all 9.5 seconds of it. Nope. It was Comstock, I was fine. Still an extra shot though…

  2. Rat on a train

I would get in a lot of trouble breaking in an employee who looked like that.

The hotel wifi is down. I should demand a refund.

    • Sean

I don’t trust public wifi. I use my phone as a hot spot.

      • rhywun

I’ve never done that. It consumes cellular data I assume?

      • Nephilium

        rhywun:

In general, yes, and it can be locked out from the phone depending on the phone and carrier.

    • Not Adahn

Huh. The hotel referred me to some Indian call center tech support… who quickly and professionally fixed the problem!

      • rhywun

        lol

I’m on hotel wi-fi right now.

        I don’t give a shit – I have nothing to hide, Feds.

  5. The Late P Brooks

    Comedy or farce?

O’Donnell, whose feud with the president has appeared in headlines in recent months, focused most of her “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” monologue on the comforts of Ireland and her neighborhood, which sits near Dublin.

“I decided to move, and I took my little then-11-year-old kid with me, and I just said, whatever you do, don’t tell anyone because we don’t want a lot of press and a lot of paparazzi,” she told viewers Monday, referring to her nonbinary child Clay. “So, please don’t tell anyone.”

“And they’re a pretty smart kid,” the comedian continued. “You know, they got it. They said, ‘Don’t worry, I won’t.’ And then went to school and proceeded to tell their entire class, ‘I’m very sorry I won’t be able to graduate sixth grade with you. I’m being forced to move to another country because the president of the United States hates my mother.’”

OH, no. Now the death squad will know where to look for her.

    • Sean

Another win for Trump. Getting that cunt out of the country.

      • Nephilium

        juris imprudent:

For the ad, use her anthem performance. Near the end, voice over, “She can’t do this to us anymore, she left the country… Trump 2028.”

    • Evan from Evansville

“And they’re a pretty smart kid,” the comedian continued,” further destroying a child’s mind and body, further confusing a pubescent kid about their plural existence.

Every bit of that is fucking disgusting.

    • JaimeRoberto feckful & gruntled

      “they’re a pretty smart kid”

    • Shpip

And they’re a pretty smart kid,” the comedian continued. “You know, they got it. They said, ‘Don’t worry, I won’t.’

Adopting a kid who is (a) allegedly autistic, and (b) identifies as non-binary is very on brand for a showbiz type.

And then went to school and proceeded to tell their entire class, ‘I’m very sorry I won’t be able to graduate sixth grade with you.

Proving that while it may identify as a them/they, the kid is still female at its core.

    • The Other Kevin

She should thank her lucky stars that Trump was able to keep her in the news for a short time, and she was then able to milk it for so long.

I wonder how that one-woman show in NY is going. Are they selling tickets for less than face value?

    • B.P.

Remembering the 2015 Republican primary debate…

“Kelly, one of the moderators on the Fox News debate, drew attention to Trump’s past remarks on Thursday night, saying, “You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals.” He responded, “Only Rosie O’Donnell.””

    • rhywun

That child doesn’t stand a chance.

  6. Shpip

“What’s going on is an attempt to legitimize the increased use of the U.S. military in the region,” said Michael Shifter, a Latin America expert at the Inter-American Dialogue think tank. “It projects power, demonstrates military superiority and enables Washington to impose its agenda. This is not cooperation, it’s obviously a very asymmetrical relationship.”

Depends on whether the Latins are being strongarmed into the deal or not.

If the governments of central and South America *want* their narcos and cartel members turned into pink mist, and the U.S. is willing to accomplish that, then it’s a win-win for everyone (minus the narcos and cartels).

  7. The Late P Brooks

I can’t keep up, is that an ethnic slur for someone?

“Avocado” sounds like a Catholic lawyer.

    • JaimeRoberto feckful & gruntled

The avocado number is how much you need for a bowl of guacamole.

      • Sensei

        6.02214076×1023 mol−1

I thought that had something to do with making mole sauce!

It’s an environmentalist socialist. Green on the outside, green on the inside.

      • Threedoor

Alligators are green on the outside and red on the inside too.

Alligator pears are green both ways.

  8. The Late P Brooks

A green blob of mostly fat that is duplicated through grafting to other trees’ children?

    Don’t forget high in potassium.

    • Not Adahn

The internet says avocados are slightly less radioactive than bananas.

      • Threedoor

Radiation poisioning. So that’s what happened to Bill Mahr in the Forrest.

  9. juris imprudent

…that would put U.S. forces on the ground in allied nations across the region.

Haven’t I seen this movie before?

  11. ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Some homeless fucker, bold as tarnished brass, just came up on my porch and tried to swipe a package. I could see the fucker from my chair, as my front door is open with just the screen door to let air in, waltz up and grab something. So, I, with my bum leg and cane, hobbled out the door to the street and yelled:

    “drop the package, Asshole!”

And it worked, he turned around, brought me my package, and shuffled off to where ever. My wife, who is very over protective of me, is now on the porch, wondering what is going on, my dog in the back yard is barking her head off, and I return with the package.

    Jesus. H. Tiddy. Fuckin’. Christ.

    • Tonio

If you haven’t got one already, I strongly recommend Canemasters wooden canes. They are incredibly… sturdy.

      • B.P.

Sounds like Zwak needs one with a sword inside.

      • Threedoor

        Or a 410 shell.

        Bentwood cane for the win.

It takes more than that to run us off. 😉

I do wish you could get to the doctor.

  12. The Late P Brooks

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Friday she was unaware of any investigations by Mexican prosecutors into Lopez Beltran, and framed U.S. visa revocations against “politically exposed” Mexicans as an issue of national sovereignty.
“This amounts to interference in Mexican politics,” Sheinbaum said. “I see no other reason for it.”

    Que?

  13. The Late P Brooks

Wait- don’t we already have military personnel on the ground in Central and South America?

  14. JaimeRoberto feckful & gruntled

I’m guessing it’s not a good idea to advertise that you have a lot of money in Sinaloa, even if it’s just an influenza act.

    • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Yes, you might need a real avocado to get you out of any lead poisoning.

  15. The Late P Brooks

Apropos of nothing, I’m mildly surprised the hysterical preservationists haven’t sued to stop the IndyCar race in DC this weekend. I guess they still have a couple of days to find a judge willing to file an injunction on noise pollution grounds or some similarly bogus destructive impact.

    Rhetorical excess

Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) on Tuesday accused President Trump of being a “draft-dodging crook president” during a town hall with Georgia voters.

Ossoff talked to voters on a stage with Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) and his wife, former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.). Ossoff emphasized his Senate ally, who works with him on the Senate Intelligence Committee, in his attack on the president.

“I don’t think anything illustrates the times more aptly than the draft-dodging crook president, who has plunged our nation recklessly into a war he knows not how to end or to win, tried to imprison this man,” Ossoff said, referring to Trump’s threat against Kelly and five other lawmakers last year to imprison them for urging service members to ignore “unlawful orders,” accusing the lawmakers’ message of being “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!!”

Ossoff praised Kelly as someone “who embodies American heroism, a decorated combat veteran, naval aviator, astronaut, space shuttle commander, U.S. senator. Donald Trump tried to lock him up for daring to state in public a fundamental principle of military law.”

Calling Kelly a hero? Come come, sir.

    • creech

Trump would have done well to simply ignore the six lawmakers.

    • B.P.

Why is this Ossoff fellow suddenly getting wall-to-wall news coverage?

      • Spudalicious

Because he’s looking at 2028, and the media loves him.

    • Raven Nation

      ““draft-dodging crook president”

True, but hardly the first president to fit in that category.

      • Rat on a train

It’s been almost 20 years since a veteran was president. Even then he was accused of dodging.

      • B.P.

The quip about trying to imprison elected officials is a little rich, too.

  17. UnCivilServant

    *sigh*

So the attempted repair of my windshield chips failed and it cracked. So I’m scheduled for a full windshield replacement.

The good news appears to be that my Insurance company’s website is poorly designed, and I do have that $0 deductable on my full glass coverage I thought I was paying for.

    • Sensei

Good luck with the cheapest glass installer the insurer could find!

      • UnCivilServant

Of course it is. The company’s contract is with Safelite.

  18. The Late P Brooks

    Of course they are.

The building, erected between 1939 and 1940, is often referred to as the “Sistine Chapel of the New Deal” because of its multiple murals from that period. Most notably, it houses two artworks by Seymour Fogel in the lobby of its Independence Avenue entrance, which face the racetrack.

Isn’t that the building the GSA is trying to sell but nobody wants it?

    • Homple

Seymour Fogel as the modern American Michaelangelo is the most pukeworthy thing I’ve read this month.

      • Threedoor

I had to look him up.

        Bad.

      • Nephilium

Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates Picasso, Michelangelo, da Vinci? Morons.

        –Seymour Fogel

      • Aloysious

I want to see less Fogel.

  19. The Late P Brooks

They should have run the race track past the Hoover building, to see if they could rattle some big chunks off it.

    • The Other Kevin

I’m sure they can find a way to run the track THROUGH it, like in Mario Kart.

  20. The Late P Brooks

“Given how important these artworks are, there should be all kinds of protections taken, and also a case made that this race should not happen here,” Okin said. “I don’t think a race like this would ever happen under other administrations, because it’s just foolish and reckless.”

Foolish and reckless and a thumb in the eye of everyone who despises freedom and autonomy.

    • B.P.

That is cool. Although I don’t know about the Avis rental car agent uniforms.

I got to hang out with him at Sebring in ’93 or ’94. Beard was a decent driver, and a helluva nice guy. Requiescat in pace.

“It should then give real pause that a US sailor should commit such an act. As with the turn of phrase, “jumping ship,” this seaman’s AWOL is the most serious imaginable. Leaping overboard during a war, compromising operations on a US aircraft carrier in a combat zone, causing the vessel to divert from its mission whatever attention required to rescue the deserter, brings back into focus the Bowe Bergdahl case.”

    • Gustave Lytton

Hang the malingerers from the yard arm?

    • rhywun

Well… I can be lukewarm about this “action” – unlike the author there – but assuming this is an actual desertion, it’s a shit move regardless.

“The Massachusetts man who pleaded guilty to planning an assassination attempt against Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent last year was sentenced Tuesday to six years in prison. (Ryan English was sentenced) to 73 months in prison and three years of supervised release after he pleaded guilty to charges related to the assassination plot in May.

English, who turned himself in to Capitol Police over the incident, allegedly admitted in January 2025 that he brought knives and 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐯 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝟓𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭 𝐕𝐨𝐝𝐤𝐚 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬, which were stuffed with cloth doused in hand sanitizer, to Capitol Hill.”

Bolshevik, please. Seems like a pathetic cry for help, like trying to kill yourself with a half-bottle of Aspirin. Act tough like you’re gonna stab the dude? What, the ‘Molotovs’ are Batman parlor tricks to befuddle your prey?

    • Nephilium

Airplane bottle Molotovs? That’s a bold strategy there Cotton… most are made of plastic, the glass ones are designed to handle rough handling, and likely would not cause injury to anyone (let alone break) if it hit them anywhere other than the eye. That’s leaving aside the fact that small of a fire could be stomped out or slapped out pretty quickly.

Besides, that’s not a Molotov cocktail, that’s a Molotov shooter.
